Carter’s, Inc. (NYSE:CRI) Investor Lawsuit could end with $20million Settlement

A settlement in a lawsuit for certain investors in NYSE:CRI shares was proposed and all NYSE:CRI stockholders should contact the Shareholders Foundation.

San Diego, CA, USA (February 22, 2012) — The Shareholders Foundation announces that a settlement in a lawsuit filed on behalf of certain NYSE:CRI investors was proposed.

Investors who purchased Carter’s, Inc. (NYSE:CRI) shares, between March 16, 2005 through November 10, 2009, and investors who purchased prior to March 2005 and still hold any of those CRI shares have certain options and should contact the Shareholders Foundation at mail(at)shareholdersfoundation.com or call +1(858) 779 – 1554.

In November 2009 a lawsuit was filed by investors alleging Carter’s and certain of its officers and directors with violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. The plaintiffs alleged that Carter’s statements and filings between March 16, 2005 through November 10, 2009 were allegedly materially false and misleading.

In September 2011 the parties entered into mediation and in December 2011 a motion for preliminary approval of partial class settlement was filed. Pursuant to the proposed settlement several defendants agreed to pay $20million to end the lawsuit. The settlement still needs final approval by the judge.

Meanwhile certain directors at Carter’s, Inc. still face another lawsuit recently filed by a current long term investor in NYSE: CRI shares. The plaintiff alleges that between 2004 and 2009 former Executive Vice President of Sales at children’s clothing marketer Carter’s Inc. allegedly manipulated the amount of discounts Carter’s granted its largest wholesale customer in order to induce it to purchase greater quantities of Carter’s products. He allegedly then concealed his actions by persuading the customer to defer subtracting the discounts from payments until later financial reporting periods. The plaintiff claims that certain directors caused Carter’s Inc to publicly issue false financial results by improperly reporting millions of dollars in margin support payment to major wholesale customers in incorrect periods and as a result the defendants caused Carter’s to improperly recognize revenue on millions of dollars of product sold via wholesale customers.

Carter’s later had to restate its historical financial statements for the fiscal years 2004-2008 and in late 2010 the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission charged the former Executive Vice President of Sales of Carter’s, Inc for allegedly engaging in financial fraud and insider trading.

Those who purchased Carter’s, Inc. (NYSE:CRI), including those who purchased CRI shares as early as 2005 or 2004 and currently hold those NYSE CRI shares, have certain options and should contact the Shareholders Foundation.

App Development Software Company QASymphony Launches, Introduces qTrace

New QA tool decreases defect capture time by 30-50% and decreases fix time by 10-30%.

Dublin, CA (USA), Tuesday – February 21, 2012 — QASymphony ( http://www.qasymphony.com ), a SaaS provider focusing on bringing intelligent software testing tools to market, announced its launch today.

“The cloud-powered software development lifecycle is beginning to be fully realized,” said Vu Lam, CEO of QASymphony. “Todays’ developers and testers require testing tools that provide more than basic record-keeping and collaboration. They require tools that support cloud-based software development and testing processes along with agility, scalability and, most importantly, intelligence into how the software is being designed, deployed and used. Our mission is to provide these tools from our cloud-based platform.”

As a first step, QASymphony is releasing its first product, qTrace, an easy-to-use, defect capture tool for bug discovery that provides insight into how software is used.

qTrace captures all steps, screens, and system information associated with a defect along with out-of-the-box integration enabling the user to submit the defect trace to any bug tracking system of choice.

qTrace provides testers an easier and faster way to report defects. In the past, software testers worked through an application to find bugs and the drudgery starts; retracing steps, doing screen captures, making notes, compiling a report, opening a defect tracking tool, and then finally submitting a ticket. Not fun, not productive, and often time resulting in defect reports that were missing key pieces of information.

With qTrace, testers simply turn on the tool as they start their testing session. qTrace runs in the background and captures every screen and every step performed during testing. qTrace then automatically generates a detailed defect report from the captured information that includes how the application was being used along with associated environmental information. While in stealth mode the company had qTrace in beta testing, and customers found that qTrace decreases defect capture time by 30-50% and decreases fix time by 10-30%.

“qTrace’s seamless integration with our bug tracker is a huge plus; combined with the ease of use, qTrace definitely helps us reduce testing cycles,” said Lakshmi Janardhan, QA manager for Compuware Corporation.

“We are really excited about getting qTrace in use across our entire testing organization,” said Gwendolyn Sanders, senior QA analyst at Silverpop. “The beta showed us that we could cut in half the time it takes to capture screens and record defects.”

“qTrace is so easy to use. It took me a few minutes to download and install, then I was able to start capturing and submitting defects right away without having to look at a user manual,” said Kevin Konishi, development program manager, Next Step Learning.

qTrace Benefits Include:
* Ease of use. With qTrace, testers use simple point-and click commands to start recordings, modify records, and publish reports.
* Automation. qTrace automates the capture of complete bug reports-including the steps that precipitated the defect’s occurrence. Testers can easily add details or modify the record, or just move forward with submitting a ticket.
* Seamless Integration. Through its integration with leading bug-tracking tools, qTrace enables testers to create new defect records and submit complete details into a bug-tracking tool-with a single mouse click. qTrace also provides an API that allows custom integration with any defect tracking tool.
* Defect reporting quality improvement. By eliminating a lot of manual, error-prone efforts, qTrace helps improve the accuracy and specificity of defect descriptions.
* Productivity boost. With qTrace, teams can spend less time on documentation, and more time on testing. Consequently, testers get better at what’s most important: validating functionality. qTrace helps turn even novice testers into proficient testing experts.
* Product development acceleration. With qTrace, application development teams can speed QA cycles, enhance collaboration and provide better information to development, so the organization can more quickly get quality products to market.

“All of us at QASymphony are passionate about software quality. We are launching the company on Valentine’s Day because we love software developers and testers, and we are confident that in time software developers and testers will come to love us as well,” said Vu Lam, QASymphony CEO ( http://www.qasymphony.com ). “Our roots are in software development; we are passionate developers and testers ourselves. Having provided development and testing services to over 75 companies in the past, we understand their needs. The products we will introduce to the market will help testers and developers release high quality products faster. We believe our first product, qTrace, will become an indispensable application for them.”

Pricing and Availability:
qTrace is available today. Customers can download a free trial at http://www.qasymphony.com/download.html. The purchase price is $49.99.

Since its inception two years ago, the film festival has raised more than $91,000 for local philanthropic organizations and shown nearly 40 amateur films.

“We really enjoy working with all the creative folks in our community of beer drinkers to bring the event together,” said Christie Catania, Clips of Faith Manager-at-Large. “The whole evening is a remarkable collaboration of passions – hand-made films with hand-made beer. We look forward to bringing out some new unique beers and putting together the final cut of the 2012 show.”

Over the last two seasons, New Belgium has received nearly 200 film submissions, with approximately 20 selections making each tour. This year, all selected entries will receive a custom gift from New Belgium and screenings in 18 cities.

To enter, upload your film by April 16 to www.clipsoffaith.com. The guidelines include:

In 2010 and 2011, some of the selected storylines included a paddling trip through whaling waters, a talking beer bottle sketch comedy and an absurdist spaghetti western. Film genres ranged from comedic shorts, animation and environmental documentaries to tales about the beloved bike.

G&G Technical enters Distribution agreement with Dunkermotor

Addition of Dunkermotor intelligent servo motor, brushed DC motor and gearmotor solutions to complete South Eastern Pennsylvania distributor’s motion control portfolio.

Elgin, IL, February 22, 2012 – G&G Technical, Inc. of Paoli, Pennsylvania has entered into a new authorized distributor agreement with rotary and linear motor and motion control manufacturer, Dunkermotor. Previously a distributor of the Copley Motion Systems linear motors which were acquired by Dunkermotor’s parent, G&G Technical now also becomes an authorized distributor of Dunkermotor brushed and brushless DC motors and intelligent servo motors. With locations in Paoli and Reading, Pennsylvania, as well as Columbia Maryland, G&G sales engineers cover the Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia and Delaware markets.

“Though we have succeeded in assembling a comprehensive array of motion control products, there are always holes that appear in our product offering that need to be filled,” said Dan Vicario, president of G&G Technical. “The integrated servo motor/drive/control technology was a big hole — and getting bigger, as this technology’s time has definitely arrived, and could likely represent a large part of the servo market in the not too distant future. We feel that the Dunkermotor line rounds out our offering well and have no doubt that our companies will be mutually very successful in our territory.”

G&G Technical, Inc. was founded in 1988, having evolved from a manufacturers’ representative firm originally established in 1948. Today, G&G is a value added automation components and systems distribution company that prides itself on knowing intimately the products they offer for sale so that they may help their customers integrate those products into their motion control or vision applications. G&G’s team of five outside sales engineers possess a variety of engineering degrees and many years experience in a wide variety of machine automation and motion control applications.

“We know that G&G is particularly strong technically as a value-added distributor,” said Tom Brown, Dunkermotor vice president, sales. “We like teaming up with a channel partner who has a reputation for successfully handling challenging technical applications and being the right company to call when an OEM or machine builder needs competent technical assistance. It is a fact that G&G is known for providing first class application support for their customers. They are the guys that can often be found out on their customer’s factory floor on weekends helping them through technical challenges.”

About Dunkermotor:
Headquartered in Elgin, Illinois, Dunkermotor is the North American sales, technical support and logistics subsidiary of Dunkermotoren GmbH, for 60 years the global quality and value leader in customized, configurable sole-source fractional horsepower motion control solutions composed of BLDC, PMDC and AC electric motors, gearmotors, controls, encoders and brakes, as well as linear motion solutions. Eating Recovery Center Raises Awareness of Eating Disorders in “Nontraditional” Groups During NEDAW

Men, Older Women and Children are Increasingly Developing the Deadliest Mental Illness

Denver, CO, February 21, 2012 – Four in 10 Americans have either suffered from or know someone who has suffered from an eating disorder, according to the National Eating Disorders Association. During National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (February 26-March 3), Eating Recovery Center (www.EatingRecoveryCenter.com), an international center for eating disorders recovery, highlights eating disorders’ pervasive impact on Americans of all ages and genders.

“A classic misconception of eating disorders is that they are a teenage girls’ disease, when in fact, we are seeing more older women, younger children and men of all ages entering treatment,” said Kenneth L. Weiner, MD, FAED, CEDS, founding partner, chief executive officer and chief medical officer of Eating Recovery Center. “Genetic risk factors and environmental triggers for these diseases don’t discriminate based on age or gender.”

The 2012 National Eating Disorders Awareness Week theme is “Everybody Knows Somebody,” which is truer now more than ever, as eating disorders and body image dissatisfaction continue to experience what experts term “epidemiological drift,” which is marked by a condition’s swift growth in incidence in new populations.

Older women: Eating Recovery Center has seen a marked increase in older women seeking treatment for eating disorders. From 2010 to 2011, admissions of women over the age of 30 increased from 27 percent of total admissions to 33 percent of total admissions. In the same timeframe, admissions of women over the age of 40 increased from 13 percent of total admissions to 15 percent of total admissions.

Men: A recent British study shows that more than 80 percent of men regularly engage in conversation about their bodies, that three in five men are unhappy with their muscularity and that more than one-third of men would trade a year of their life to achieve their ideal body weight or shape.

Younger children: From 1999 to 2006, hospitalizations for eating disorders increased sharply – 119 percent – for children younger than 12 years of age, according to recent analysis by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.

“It’s important to be aware that eating disorders can happen to anyone—men, older women and younger children,” continued Dr. Weiner. “Do not discount disordered eating behaviors or concerning body image issues just because they are displayed by an individual believed to be outside of the traditional ‘eating disorder demographic.’”

Eating Recovery Center encourages individuals to quickly respond if they notice troubling food- or body image-oriented behaviors in their loved ones, regardless of age or gender. Eating disorders recovery is entirely possible with early intervention and proper treatment from qualified professionals.

If you notice troubling behaviors in an adult friend or loved one, find a quiet time and place for a private, respectful meeting to discuss your concerns; and ask if he or she has considered whether or not he or she may have an eating disorder. While you continue to express your support, offer to help your friend or loved seek treatment.

If you notice troubling behaviors in your child or adolescent, engage your child in conversation and speak to what you have noticed instead of making accusations; visit a medical provider if you are concerned about your child’s physical health; and identify a mental health provider for an eating disorders assessment.

FRA Claims Protecting Indigenous Rights is Vital to REDD+ scheme

FRA claims that the REDD+ project is more than just about preventing deforestation and has backed a statement from a high profile member, who talks about the importance of helping those living in and around the forests.

Bainbridge Island, WA, February 21, 2012 – Forestry Research Associates (FRA) claims that the REDD+ project is more than just about preventing deforestation and has backed a statement from a high profile member, who talks about the importance of helping those living in and around the forests.

Kuntoro Mangkusubroto, one of the leaders of the REDD+ task force in Indonesia, has spoken out to highlight the fact that the campaign should be just as much about safeguarding the rights of indigenous people as preventing deforestation.

He stated, “It’s not as simple as the destruction of forests by logging companies. That certainly happens, but the real issue in REDD is poverty, and we must link the two together.”

FRA, which is a research and analysis consultancy, and Mangkusubroto, agree that poverty has become rife in some regions that have experienced a high level of deforestation due to the failure to recognise indigenous peoples’ land rights.

FRA also points out that these kinds of land rights issues can occur as a result of REDD+ measures. Mangkusubroto points out an example that occurred in Sumatra, where an indigenous population were told to move away from their homes as the forest land they lived in was designated a conservation area. Mangkusubroto was keen to point out that he intends to avoid these kinds of measures being introduced. He stated, “We will not implement a ‘father knows best’ approach, but instead we’ll do this cooperatively.”

FRA supports sustainable forestry investment schemes that help to safeguard valuable forests in developing countries. An example is the non-native forestry plantations grown by Greenwood Management in Brazil. The growth of non-native trees for use as charcoal by the domestic steel industry, can help reduce the reliance on native trees. Peter Collins, AAA’s analysis partner explained, “This kind of scheme helps local people realise the value of their standing forests.”
