HVAC Professionals Give Simple Tips On How To Stay Healthy During Cold & Flu Season

Despite the pandemic raging all around, cold and flu season is still very much a concern.

Atlanta, GA – USA | January 12, 2021 — Despite the pandemic raging all around, cold and flu season is still very much a concern. It may seem impossible to avoid getting sick, and in many ways whether or not one gets sick is a matter of chance.

However, there are things one can do to keep healthy and lower the likelihood of having to deal with common seasonal respiratory illnesses.

Tip #1 – Clean or Replace The HVAC System’s Air Filter

“This is probably the number one thing that people can do in order to not only maintain indoor air quality, but to make sure their HVAC system works efficiently,” says Frank Mutz, CEO and President of Moncrief Heating & Air Conditioning.

Why should people change their air filters regularly?

“A clogged air filter affects indoor air quality in two ways. First, the air is not adequately cleaned of dust, dander, and other allergens and pollutants. Exposure to these particles can affect health. Second, a clogged air filter prevents adequate air flow throughout the house. This prevents the HVAC system from doing its job properly.”

How often should people change their air filter?

“It depends on several different factors, but generally one should follow the instructions that the HVAC system’s manufacturer has provided. Different filters need to be changed at different intervals. Some filters are disposable, and some are not. One thing is clear, though: if one can’t remember the last time the filter was changed or cleaned, change it as soon as possible!”

Tip #2 – Control Indoor Humidity

“Fall is when the weather starts to get a little chilly and the air starts to get very dry. For this reason, humidity becomes a problem, but not like it was in the summer. In the summer, it was too humid, but in the fall and winter, it’s too dry! Cold and flu viruses love cool, dry air. If the air in the home is too dry, the indoor air quality gets worse.”

What should be done to make sure humidity levels are controlled properly?

“First, check the home’s humidity levels. One should see between 30-50% humidity indoors, regardless of the weather. Second, make sure the humidifier is working properly. If one doesn’t have a humidifier, it is highly recommended to invest in one. Moncrief Heating & Air Conditioning installs humidity control systems as part of our services.”

Poopie Suits Announces Release of 4th Book – More Sub Tales

Passes $44,000 Donated to Sub Vet Scholarship Fund.

Nashua, NH – USA | January 7, 2021 — This is newsworthy because two of the four books have been named as The Best Books About Submarines in the World for 2021. Poopie Suits was #6 in 2020. These are significant books that document the untold story of the men who manned the US Submarine Force during WWII, the Cold War, and the War on Terror. Each story is real.

Poopie Suits has donated proceeds from the beginning to the United States Submarine Veterans, Inc. Scholarship Fund. Each book sold (soft cover or e-Book) generates a donation of $5 to this Fund. To date over $44,000 has been donated.

Poopie Suits Series – More Sub Tales

One of many reviews on Amazon on the predecessor, Sub Tales – Stories That Seldom Surface:

“Sub Tales is another truly fantastic book by the authors of Poopie Suits and Cowboy Boots. As I read story after story from submariners that exhibited grace and level headedness under pressure, I couldn’t help but be impressed with those that volunteer their time, often thanklessly, so that the rest of us can rest securely under the blanket of freedom they help provide. This book is a paean to these warriors. We will never be able to fully appreciate the depth of sacrifice these individuals made because the very nature of their service precludes us from knowing the full measure of it. Sub Tales is deftly woven, engaging, and very much a page turner. I highly recommend it to anyone that is interested in the exploits of the extraordinary volunteers to the “Silent Service”.

* Poopie Suits named #3 Best Book in the World on Submarines 2021
* Sub Tales named #5 in the World for 2021
https://bookauthority.org/books/new-submarines-ebooks

All four titles contain riveting accounts of the triumphs and tribulations of the US Submarine Force. Each book features plenty of vintage photographs and personal recollections from the men who served. More Sub Tales joins the series with 36 new stories about the Silent Service, spanning more than a century of history from the experimental submarines conceived by Simon Lake in the late nineteenth century to the christening of the USS Hawaii (SSN-776) in 2006. Together these stories weave a compelling and instructive narrative of American submarines and the men who rode them.

Richly illustrated with more than 350 photographs, More Sub Tales will entertain and inform the reader about key moments and milestones in the evolution of submarines. Learn about the many ordeals, sacrifices, and brave acts that represent the proud legacy of this underappreciated segment of our Armed Forces.

Each story has been carefully vetted by more than two dozen veteran submariners for accuracy, and in most chapters, additional authenticity has been gained by interviewing actual participants. The book has been written with clear language, and explanations where relevant, to appeal to a wide-ranging audience.

More than a year in the making, and involving hundreds of interviews and thousands of correspondences, this richly researched volume takes its rightful place in the expanding Poopie Suits series. Simply put, these books chronicle what makes the US Submarine Force one of the world’s elite military groups.

About Poopie Suits Series of True Submarine Stories:

The Poopie Suits series of books was created by 2 brothers, Frank and Charles Hood, who started by detailing the submarine service of Frank during the late 60’s to early 70’s. The first book, Poopie Suits & Cowboy Boots, takes the reader on the journey of a young man who volunteers for submarine service and includes historical and cultural touchpoints of the era, including the Vietnam War, political unrest and assassinations, the nascent space program, and more. Richly detailed by co-author Charles Hood and written in a language that anyone can understand, it focuses on true stories of daily life on a submarine.

A Mission and a Message to Promote Access to Education

In Haiti, only 40% of the population is taught how to read, which means that the majority of the population is illiterate. Access to education is a sweeping issue that affects millions of people.

San Antonio, TX – USA, October 23, 2019 — In Haiti, only 40% of the population is taught how to read, which means that the majority of the population is illiterate. Access to education is a sweeping issue that affects millions of people. Corruption in the government and lack of funding are major systemic barriers which prevent widespread reform.

“Oftentimes, people don’t have the money to start school at a young age. I met people who only began attending school at the age of 13,” explains Angela Trujillo who first visited the country in 2014. These individuals often experienced trouble finding jobs. Since this initial trip, Trujillo has been back five more times, volunteering and raising money to help those in need.

“It was shocking to see the difference between the access to education in America and the conditions for so many young children in Haiti,” says Trujillo, who witnessed these issues on the ground. Students have to pay to attend school, but even sponsored students can get kicked out of their classes if they don’t have the proper socks and shoes.

Now, Trujillo has a new vision for change: to open a school “where all are welcome.” The school will be located on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince. “I want to create a place where Haitians can thrive and learn and grow,” Trujillo says. Her goal is to create a school to help break the cycle of poverty that exists in Haiti. Fundraising efforts are already underway. To augment the process, Trujillo wrote her first-ever children’s book “Elizabeth Gets Healed.” 100% of the proceeds will be donated toward this cause.

This story was inspired by Trujillo’s own childhood. When she was 6 years old, the author was diagnosed with amblyopia, commonly referred to as lazy eye, which she was eventually able to overcome. “This is my testimony for children who face an obstacle in their path,” the author explains. “I want to empower children in America, and for them to know that they are contributing to the education of a child in Haiti.”

Publisher Lisa M. Umina comments, “We all need to know this story. Trujillo is working to empower children no matter where they live and no matter the circumstances into which they were born.”

Trujillo will hold story time followed by a craft activity for children on January 6th at 10:15 am at the Hellen Library in League City, Texas. On January 29th, there will be a meet and greet with the author also at 10:15 am in the same location.

“Students with Autism Have Something to Teach All of Us” – Says Educator Brooke Rutledge

Rates of autism are rising in the United States, and there is no clear explanation as to why this is happening.

San Antonio, TX – USA, October 23, 2019 — Rates of autism are rising in the United States, and there is no clear explanation as to why this is happening. One clear challenge that classrooms across the country face is how to identify and help cultivate the unique talents that these students bring to the learning environment.

With nearly a decade of experience in the classroom, special educator Brooke Kodish Rutledge has seen firsthand the impact that a unique student can have on those around her. For Rutledge, her student, Clara, became a special inspiration.

“Even though I was her teacher,” Rutledge says, “I want people to know that she taught me a lot as well. She taught me that everyone has a voice; it’s just that sometimes they are harder to hear at first. I helped Clara discover her own voice and how it could shape others.” Rutledge recalls one of Clara’s favorite sayings: Relax, you’re cool. This saying has stayed with Rutledge in the years since having Clara in her classroom. This was a mantra that Clara would repeat to herself in moments of stress to stay calm and work through the troubling situation.

Rutledge observed Clara, as she progressed from not being able to functionally communicate verbally to being able to make requests, speak in sentences, and even sing to her classmates. Seeing this transformation “was beautiful and inspirational,” Rutledge comments.

Rutledge decided to share Clara’s story with the world in hopes of touching others just as Clara touched her. She penned her first book for children, entitled “A Rainbow Shines Through Clara” to not only shed light on the challenges of autism but to also emphasize how hope and perseverance can change a child’s life.

“Clara’s story is unique,” the author explains. “I hope that it inspires other people like it inspired me. I want people to be moved and realize how special these children are.” The takeaway message? “Don’t be afraid to make a connection with them.”

Publisher Lisa M. Umina comments, “Rutledge has a valuable perspective on the special contributions of children with autism in the classroom. Rutledge is teaching a message that we all need to hear about accepting others and ourselves and celebrating our differences.”

Ice Cream Scientist Shows Children How to Make Their Own Fun in the Kitchen

With a certificate in culinary arts, Geno III has come to be known as the ice cream scientist. He explains that he decided to experiment on new flavors and recipes with his own children first.

San Antonio, TX – USA, October 9, 2019 — Children and teenagers today are spending more time on cell phones and screens than ever before. For parents, it can be difficult to limit screen time and direct their children to more creative activities not involving cell phones.

Father and business-owner, Geno III came up with a great alternative—making ice cream with his four kids. “They all love it,” he explains. “Their friends love it. Even the big kids love making ice cream. It’s something we can do together, and it doesn’t involve our cell phones.”

With a certificate in culinary arts, Geno III has come to be known as the ice cream scientist. He explains that he decided to experiment on new flavors and recipes with his own children first. Needless to say, his children agreed that this was a tasty arrangement. In addition to running ice cream experiments, Geno III also owns his own ice cream truck that he drives around Indianapolis, Indiana, where he lives.

Now, Geno III has owned the ice cream truck for two years. One year after buying the truck, he founded his own company: Yungsday’s Sundaes. Running a business is difficult, says Geno III, especially because he also works night shifts for Pepsi, but his passion for ice cream keeps him going. “I like to get creative,” he explains. “When it comes to ice cream, I am always creating a lot of new things.”

This creativity helped Geno III in his latest venture: writing his first-ever book for children: “Yungsday’s Sundaes Presents Patiently Shakin’ for Ice Cream.” His goal for the book? “I hope readers see how much fun it is to make ice cream. If you’re a parent like me, this is perfect for activity time with the kids.”

Geno III also introduces Standard Operating Procedures, or SOPs, in his book to teach children yet another life skill. “I included SOPs so that children will learn something they may later take with them to use on the job.” Geno III has termed ice cream making “useful recreation.” Children are partaking in an activity that they enjoy, all the while learning important skills that will serve them in the future. Geno III will also be offering ice cream kits as well that contain all of the ingredients to make ice cream: young scientists only need to provide a bottle of water and ice cubes.

Publisher Lisa M. Umina adds, “This activity is sure to be a hit for families. I never realized that making homemade ice cream was so simple or that it could be such a fun activity. Geno III changed that.”

For more information about Geno III visit www.halopublishing.com. “Yungsday’s Sundaes Presents Patiently Shakin’ for Ice Cream” is now available at Halo Publishing International, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Goodreads, and Books a Million.

Award-Winning Author and Journalist Empowers Women to Overcome Fear

As an Emmy award-winning anchor and author, Romona Robinson has interviewed thousands of people who are struggling in jobs they hate, strapped by their finances, children not measuring up, relationships gone bad, or poor health.

San Antonio, TX – USA, October 9, 2019 — If you have been controlled by voices of fear, failure, and doubt, you’re like thousands of women who feel trapped by fear and circumstance. Romona Robinson knows this all too well. As an Emmy award-winning anchor and author, she has interviewed thousands of people who are struggling in jobs they hate, strapped by their finances, children not measuring up, relationships gone bad, or poor health. They have grown weary, searching for answers about why God has not come to their rescue while everyone else is seemingly living their best life.

Now, back with her second book “Your Voice is Your Power,” Robinson hopes to answer these questions through personal stories that silenced the voices of fear, anxiety, and insecurity in her own life. “The truth is I was living a lie, blinded by who society said I should be,” says the author. “Sometimes we have to speak our truth in order to move past the problem.”

It was through 30 years of interviews and community work that Robinson discovered the power of sharing her story. People had questions for her. “Women and girls in particular would ask: how were you able to push past life’s roadblocks?” Robinson realized that her stories had the potential to help others who were facing similar challenges.

Robinson made a career-changing decision: “I’m going to use my voice to help people.” She left her job in television and started writing down her own story to share with the world.

Robinson’s memoir “A Dirt Road to Somewhere” was met with “an outpouring of support.” But readers had more questions, and Robinson had more stories to tell, so now in “Your Voice is Your Power” Robinson writes intimately and honestly about the challenges she’s faced, from losing a job to losing a parent, equipping readers with the tools to start using their own voice and overcoming whatever obstacle is holding them back.

“I hope the stories in this book will help people realize that they have the power within themselves to move past those voices of fear that hold them back,” says Robinson.

Publisher Lisa M. Umina comments, “This is truly a transformative read. Robinson shows readers, step by step, how she was able to move past fear in her own life and how they can do the same thing. Readers will relate to Robinson on every page, and they will be empowered to make a change.”

Hola Publishing Internacional Brings New Talent, Providing Unparalleled Services in Mexico

For the first time, authors and companies can access print-on-demand services, securing competitive pricing for high-quality printing as well as global distribution.

Mexico City, Mexico, 8th August, 2019 — Hola Publishing is changing the publishing landscape in Mexico. For the first time, authors and companies can access print-on-demand services, securing competitive pricing for high-quality printing as well as global distribution.

Hola has filled a crucial gap in the Mexican publishing market—before Hola came to Mexico City, “there really wasn’t a self-publishing company that offered full publishing services,” founder and publisher Lisa M. Umina explains. Comprehensive services include cover design, interior layout, editing, and extensive marketing. Umina herself works from the Mexican headquarters.

Hola Publishing recently announced that their corporate headquarters will be located in Mexico City, enabling the publishing company to provide in-house consultations to authors. “This is a huge step in their writing career,” Umina says. “Now, they have the opportunity to meet the team and shake the hands of the people who are helping them to leave a legacy.”

Hola Publishing has brought on additional literary consultants to fill the demand. “Before, authors had to look to companies in Spain. Now, they can publish with a company at home. The authors meet our talented team in person and see first-hand the kind of quality we are producing,” says Umina.

As the owner of Hola, Umina has spent time researching the market. She knows her company is offering services that aren’t available elsewhere. “We are a very unique company in Mexico because we handle our authors’ needs from design to print to global distribution.” Hola has worked with a diverse clientele of professionals, ranging from journalists to doctors and lawyers, and increasingly, corporations whose print needs are not being met elsewhere.

Hola offers what is called print-on-demand, which means that authors or companies can order smaller quantities of printed products—from books to manuals or brochures. By partnering with a high-quality printer in Mexico, pricing is competitive with the United States.

The Mexican headquarters is good news for clients in the United States as well, as demand grows for bilingual books. The services that are being offered in the United States haven’t changed, in fact, they’ve improved. “We have it set up even better,” says Umina of the changes.

In the future, Hola plans to partner with bookstores in Mexico in order to continue increasing circulation.

With 17 years of experience in the publishing industry, Lisa M. Umina has worked with many award-winning authors, helping them to publish their dream and coaching them to bring their writing career to the next level. Her company has published over 2,000+ titles, and she is the founder and owner of Halo Publishing International and Hola Publishing Internacional.
