Package Central 1.9.7 for Adobe InDesign Improves Email Reliability

Zevrix Solutions announces Package Central 1.9.7, a maintenance update to its document packaging automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Package Central processes InDesign files from watched hot folders and offers customizable workflows, variable folder names, email notifications, automatic error handling, preflighting and other time saving features for workgroup environment. The new version addresses an issue which could prevent email and metadata settings from being saved in workflow presets.

Toronto (ON), Canada — Zevrix Solutions today announces Package Central 1.9.7, a maintenance update to its file packaging automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Originally developed for a major publisher in the United States, the software automates InDesign packaging by processing files from watched hot folders. Package Central offloads document collection to a central system leaving operator workstations free from the packaging process.

The new version addresses an issue that could prevent some email and XML metadata settings from being saved in workflow presets after quitting the app. Package Central lets users create multiple email templates to issue customized mail alerts in case of processing errors and preflight warnings, while XML variables allow to take advantage of InDesign file metadata in variable package folder names.

Under Package Central workflow, production artists, prepress operators and designers simply submit InDesign files to watched hot folders that reside on a network. The software automatically collects the documents along with their fonts and links, freeing user’s time for important tasks such as design and layout. Operator workstations will never again be tied up by the packaging process.

Package Central performs all its tasks automatically on a dedicated workstation and can run absolutely unattended. The app offers the following key features and benefits:

Collect InDesign files from watched hot folders
-Create hot folders for various packaging settings
Create PDF and IDML files on the fly
-Automatic email notifications on process stages and errors
-Variable package folder names
Update modified links automatically
-Detailed processing logs
-Maintain a single set of settings for entire workgroup

Pricing and Availability:
Package Central can be purchased for $149.95 from Zevrix website, as well as from authorized resellers. Trial is also available for download. Package Central requires Mac OS X 10.6-10.11 and Adobe InDesign CS5-CC 2015.

Minneapolis Roofing Company Joins Class Action Lawsuit Against HomeAdvisor

Storm Group Roofing is joining a class action lawsuit against HomeAdvisor alleging fraudulent practices and demanding a refund on $2,000 of fees accrued after initially canceling their account with the company.

Minneapolis, MN, USA — Storm Group Roofing, a Minneapolis roofing company headquartered in Brooklyn Park, MN, has joined a class action lawsuit against HomeAdvisor claiming fraudulent practices in their lead generation services. Storm Group is claiming that over the course of four months, HomeAdvisor wrongly charged them over $1,700 for dead leads including customers that were out of state, did not respond, or weren’t interested in roofing services. Representatives of the roofing company documented its communications with HomeAdvisor in a YouTube video, however were demanded to take it down before any refunds would be made.

Over the course of four months, representatives of the roofing company attempted to cancel its HomeAdvisor account only to continue being billed for unwanted services. On February 19, 2016, Storm Group Roofing initially contacted HomeAdvisor to cancel its account after spending $1,000 and receiving three quality leads. In the mid-June, the Minneapolis roofing company was charged an additional $700 by HomeAdvisor though they had previously requested their account be canceled. This unrequested restart in services generated no quality leads for the company. Storm Group Roofing is demanding a full refund of all charges accrued after February as well as the $347 sign up fee.

The roofing company documented its communications with HomeAdvisor in a YouTube video. The 15-minute video captures the multiple phone conversations that took place between Storm Group Roofing employees and HomeAdvisor’s customer service team between June 13th and 20th in which requests to cancel the account and receive a refund were made. The roofing company posted the video to its YouTube channel on June 20th and within a week it has garnered over 1,700 views. Upon viewing this video, representatives from HomeAdvisor agreed to refund $1,045 (Fees for leads accrued after February and the sign up fee) on the condition that the video is taken down.

“There is no way to prove that HomeAdvisor is not sending the same leads to multiple companies and charging each one separately regardless if they get the job or not,” said Dmitry Lipinski, owner of Storm Group Roofing. “To that point, there is no way to prove that the phone numbers of the leads we received belong to real people as they are four-digit extensions created by HomeAdvisor.”

Storm Group Roofing has refused to remove the video from their YouTube account and is demanding a full refund of the fees they were charged after the first request to cancel their account was made. The Minneapolis roofing company is joining a class action lawsuit against HomeAdvisor alleging fraudulent practices.

For 2nd Consecutive Year, Sri Lanka Tea Board to Set Up Exclusive Pavilion at 4th World Tea & Coffee Expo 2016, Mumbai, India

* Buoyed by the success in previous edition, SL Tea Board reposes faith in this annual expo at Mumbai and considers WTCE as the definite platform for doing business with India’s tea & coffee sectors. * Being held from 20th Oct – 22nd Oct 2016 at Mumbai, World Tea & Coffee Expo is India’s only trade show focused on Tea, Coffee and allied sectors.

Mumbai, India, June 27th, 2016 — In view of the encouraging demand for its tea in India, the Sri Lanka Tea Board (SLTB) will be participating in India’s only tea and coffee trade fair, World Tea & Coffee Expo (WTCE), Mumbai through an exclusive Pavilion for the second consecutive year. The 4th edition of this annual event at Mumbai, India will be held from October 20th to October 22nd 2016. Representing the Board at the exclusive pavilion will be several leading Sri Lankan tea companies with varieties of tea produce, brands and flavours. The companies shall not only be seeking buyers but also joint venture partners and distributors across India. The companies shall also be looking at accessing the latest technological advances in the Hot Beverage sector which will be on display at this niche one-of-its-kind expo.

Says Mr Rohan Pethiyagoda, Chairman, Sri Lanka Tea Board, “The Indian markets now offer enormous scope for product innovation as demonstrated by rising consumption of Sri Lankan tea. WTCE is very professionally executed and offers SL tea companies a single door opportunity to transact business with India.” The country has a limited domestic consumption which leaves over 90 % of produce for exports. This is where India as a market for Sri Lankan tea companies fits in. Rising consumption due to changing lifestyles and increasing urbanization in India has encouraged neighbouring country’s tea producers to explore Indian markets. The spread of tea and coffee retail chains has raised the level of tea consumption across all types of tea. Many domestic branded tea companies are fulfilling the demand gap through imports from abroad.

The WTCE 2016 is an ideal platform therefore to showcase famous specialty SL teas such as Black Tea, CTC Tea, Ceylon Super Pekoe black tea, Ceylon green tea, White tea, Ceylon Silver tip tea, Instant tea etc. Additionally, India has a barter trade agreement with a few countries for which India regularly imports SL tea and further exports to these countries. According to Commerce Ministry data, Sri Lanka exported INR 382 crore worth of tea to India in the year 2014-15 reflecting a 33% annual growth over the previous year’s INR 285 crore.

WTCE annually brings domestic and international buyers and suppliers of tea and coffee together in a manner that benefits the industry by enabling forging of new business relationships. The expo also affords an opportunity for the allied industries such as Packaging, Vending Solutions, machineries, accessories and other technologies. Significant activities at the WTCE will include B2B match-making, Workshops & Championships and a High Level 2-day Conference by Industry leaders, academicians and policy makers.

Says Ms. Priti M Kapadia, Director, Sentinel Exhibitions Asia P Ltd, “WTCE is supported by many eminent trade bodies including Tea Board of India (Govt. of India) and fulfils the need for an organized event for Tea & Coffee Companies in India to come together for exchange of ideas and business transactions”. New Book Release – Dogs Are People Too: The Practical Guide to Understanding and Training Your Dog, by Mary Jean Alsina

Dogs Are People Too: The Practical Guide to Understanding and Training Your Dog (because you’re more alike than you think!), by Mary Jean Alsina, will get you and your dog wagging tails in agreement!

Newark, NJ, USA — Mary Jean Alsina’s Dogs Are People Too: The Practical Guide to Understanding and Training Your Dog (because you’re more alike than you think!) is a comprehensive guide for novice to experienced owners on how to best understand and interact with their dogs for utmost success.

5 Star Reviews have been blanketing Alsina’s new title!

Mary Jean Alsina neatly draws on a variety of sources to outline how dog guardians can learn to better communicate with their dogs, read their emotions and understand what they are trying to say. – Susan Nilson

I’d always suspected that my dogs were the better versions of me and now this book proves it. This is the bridge that helps you to relate to your dog as you would to your child, your friend, your partner. It applies what you know already to the language of dogs and you will find yourself nodding absently and consistently in agreement as you flip the pages. Don’t think of this as a dog training manual. Rather, it is a guide for understanding dogs. – Zarina Mak

The book itself is easy and pleasant to read (did it in one day). It’s full of a great deal of information on studies with simple and easy to understand information identifying the similarities between, human behavior, children and our canine companions. The title totally says it all “Dogs are People Too”, if you’re thinking Mary Jean means it literally, your half right and half wrong. But when you do read it I can guarantee you will have an ah-ha moment. This isn’t a step by step do this, say that; rather it’s teach a man to fish type book. She supplies the tools and thought process with examples of how to apply the thought process. Think about it do you learn better when your happy and supported by those around you or when someone is standing there watching every move you make just waiting for an opportunity to shout? ~ Verified Amazon Reviewer

Central Valley Winery Offers Perfect Tongue in Cheek Wedding Wine for Brides and Grooms with Sense of Humor and Fun

It takes a lot of audacity to name a wine created to be served at weddings “Ball and Chain,” but Solitary Cellars Wine Co. is no ordinary winery.

Lodi, CA, June 26, 2016 — It takes a lot of audacity to name a wine created to be served at weddings “Ball and Chain,” but Solitary Cellars Wine Co. is no ordinary winery.

Owned by two California state correctional officers, Solitary Cellars is well known for not taking itself too seriously and having fun with the sometimes stuffy and too-proper wine industry.

The tagline for their winery, after all, is: “Solitary Cellars — Wines Without Restraints.” Their wine club is called the Chain Gang, with two levels, Minimum and Maximum Custody, and the tasting room is called the North Block Tasting Room.

Now winery partners Greg “Bergie” Bergersen and Rick “Q” Quesada are having a little more fun by offering brides and grooms with a sense of humor a new wine to serve at their weddings: Ball and Chain, a term that can be applied to both prisoners and wives. Facetiously and with a smile for the latter, of course.

“My wife, Syndi and I were approached by Curtis Williamson and he respectfully asked for our blessing to marry our daughter Paige,” says Bergersen, who retired from corrections in 2014 to start the winery with Quesada, who is still active. “We enthusiastically agreed and that began the conversation about wine served at their wedding dinner.”

Of course, his daughter asked for one of Dad’s wines. But not just any wine.

“My daughter asked if we could develop a wine that no one had ever tasted and that would be unique to them,” says Bergersen. “We put the request in motion and developed a Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah blend. The wine was rich, full flavored and very balanced. We decided to call the blend Ball and Chain. The name seemed appropriate as the term has a prison component, as our blends do, but also has to do with a widely used phrase describing a marital relationship, as in ‘the old ball and chain.’

”The wine was not only a big hit at his daughter’s wedding, it won a gold medal from the San Joaquin County Wine Growers Association, and Bergersen and Quesada hope other wedding couples take a shine to it.

“We plan on bottling the blend in large-format bottles, because our wedding customers can have the bottles signed by the entire wedding party,” says Bergersen. “We hope the new vintage of Ball and Chain, which is scheduled for a 2016 late fall or early 2017 release will be found at many weddings throughout the country.”

About Solitary Cellars:
Owned and operated by Greg Bergersen and Rick Quesada, two California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation officers with more than 45 years of service in California’s most dangerous prisons, Solitary Cellars produces wines in Lodi, California (Wine Enthusiast’s Wine Region of the Year 2015), working with renowned growers from Monterey County, Amador County, Lodi and Lake County. The winery’s portfolio of premium wines features deep red wines that show off the essence of California’s most-respected vineyards and wine growers.

The Solitary Cellars portfolio currently include the 2014 Code Three (a red wine blend) (Lodi); 2012 and 2013 Liberty Oak Tempranillo (Lodi); 2014 Solitary Cellars Albariño (Lodi); 2013 Evasion Syrah Rosé (Fresno); 2012 and 2013 Solitary Cellars Old Vine Zinfandel (Lodi); 2013 Santa Lucia Highlands Syrah; 2013 Shenandoah Valley Barbera (Amador); 2013 Monterey County Pinot Noir.

The wines are targeted to consumers directly in the tasting room, online and in select restaurants and wine bars.

Solitary Cellars’ winery is located in Lodi and its North Block Tasting Room is located in Madera, California.
