Wearable Tech Devices To Watch at Golden Networking’s Wearable Computing Conference 2013 New York

Golden Networking brings Wearable Computing Conference 2013 New York City (www.wearable-computing-conference.com), “Revolutionizing the Human Experience Through Next-Generation Technology”, November 7.

New York City, NY, USA (October 28, 2013) — InformationWeek’s Kristin Burnham has seen the future. Accessories that buzz when the email you’ve been waiting for lands in your inbox. Devices that help you sleep more soundly. Gadgets that photograph and document your day, start to finish. Meet the latest innovations in the rapidly growing — and lucrative — industry of wearable tech, at Golden Networking’s Wearable Computing Conference 2013 (http://www.wearable-computing-conference.com), “Revolutionizing the Human Experience Through Next-Generation Technology”, to be held in New York City, on November 7.

Research company Visiongain predicts that the global wearable tech market will reach $4.6 billion this year. “With virtually limitless applications to a number of verticals, the wearable technology market represents a huge value proposition to all ecosystem members, from manufacturers to app developers and service report providers,” the company’s recent research report stated.

Among the verticals pouncing on the trend, the healthcare industry has rolled out a number of promising remote patient monitoring technologies, such as a bracelet that monitors a patient’s vitals, a device that determines the severity of a person’s sleep apnea and a wireless sensor that monitors fetal and maternal heart rates.

The fitness industry has also embraced the wearable tech trend, introducing the popular Fitbit and Nike’s FuelBand, both of which analyze your daily activity and track your weight. Jawbone, a wristband gadget, tracks how you sleep, exercise and eat.

But Google Glass and the emerging crop of smartwatches have generated the most buzz for wearable tech. The general public still can’t buy Google Glass, augmented reality glasses that the company began testing in April 2012. But developers have rolled out a number of apps, including Path and Evernote integration.

The Smartwatch buzz began in February when rumors swirled that Apple had an iWatch in the works. Though Apple has yet to deliver, the company is reportedly “aggressively” hiring engineers. Critics have questioned whether a viable market for smartwatches exists, but that hasn’t stopped manufacturers like Samsung from jumping in with early products to be discussed at Wearable Computing Conference 2013:

– Key Features of Wearable Technologies
– A New World for Application Developers
– How Wearable Technologies Will Transform the Human Experience
– Wearable Computing and its Impact on the Technology Marketplace
– The Future of Wearable Computing Today

New NanoMarkets Report States that Medical/Dental Ceramics Market to Grow to $2.3 billion by 2018

The worldwide medical ceramics market will grow from $1.1 billion in 2013 to $2.3 billion in 2018 according to a new report from industry analysis firm NanoMarkets.

Glen Allen, Virginia (October 28, 2013) — The worldwide medical ceramics market will grow from $1.1 billion in 2013 to $2.3 billion in 2018 according to a new report from industry analysis firm NanoMarkets. The report, “Worldwide Medical Ceramics Markets: 2013,” notes that ceramics are now widely used in medical and dental applications including, hip and knee implants; crowns, bridges and other dental implants; surgical and diagnostic tools, implantable electronic implants, and regenerative medicine. Ceramics are an ideal material in these applications because of their wear resistance, inherent stability and excellent electrical properties.

Additional details about the report are available at: http://www.nanomarkets.net/market_reports/report/worldwide_medical_ceramics_markets_2013.

About the Report:

This new NanoMarkets report provides an in depth market analysis of emerging medical and dental market opportunities for alumina, zirconia, silicon ceramics, hydroxyapatite, bioglass, piezoceramics, nanoceramics, and other materials. It examines the latest products, strategies and technical developments and the hurdles that these materials must overcome to achieve market acceptance, including the applicable regulatory regimes in leading national and regional markets.

This report also includes NanoMarkets’ assessments of the strategies of leading firms active in medical and dental ceramics space. In addition, the report contains granular forecasts of medical/dental ceramic shipments in volume and value terms, with breakouts by application, type of material and geographical region.

Firms that are discussed in the report include: 3M, Advanced BioHealing, Amedica, Biocomposites, Biointerface, Biomet 3i, Bonesupport, CeramTec, CoorsTek, Covalent Materials, Curasan, Deltex Medical, Dentium, Dentsply, DePuy, Eurocoating, Genzyme, Glidewell Dental Lab, Globus Medical, Hangzhou 3B Medical Instrument, Innovnano, Intra-Lock, Ivoclar Vivadent, Johnson & Johnson, Joint Replacement Instrumentation, Kinetic Concepts, Kuraray, Kyocera, MOJE Keramik-Implantate, MTC, Nobel Biocare, NobelProcera, Oral Iceberg, Organogenesis, Precision Ferrites & Ceramics, Smith & Nephew, Souriau, Straumann, Stryker, Synthes, Tosoh, VITA Zahnfabrik, Yancheng Skyortho Dental Supplies, ZFX, Zimmer.

From the report:

A major factor currently driving the medical ceramics market is growing skepticism with regard to the performance and long-term biocompatibility of metallic implants. As a result NanoMarkets believes that ceramic implants will experience considerable market growth. By 2018, the total value of ceramics used in implants will have reached $1.8 billion, going on to reach $2.4 billion by 2020.

Meanwhile, NanoMarkets projects that revenues from ceramics used in regenerative medicine will more than double to reach $356 million by 2018. Of particular importance here is the rise of scaffold-guided tissue engineering for which ceramics is ideal because of its biocompatibility. NanoMarkets also believes that ceramic powders using alumina and zirconia will be extensively used in the bone reconstruction market.

Although the medical ceramics business will be dominated by alumina, zirconia and hydroxyapatite, other materials are on the rise. For example, bioglass is expected to reach $240 million in sales by 2018, compared with around $110 million today. The NanoMarkets report suggests further that – among other markets — bioglass will prove useful in orthopedic reconstructions as part of trauma treatment and spinal surgery. The report also expects nanoceramics to do well. In fact many in vitro studies have shown that bone-forming cells called osteoblasts have proliferated on substrates with nanoceramic particles and coatings. However, there are still infection risks with nanoceramics that have yet to be addressed.

Most Eagerly Awaited Annual Event Since 2004 – the “11th China Products Exhibition” To Boost Manufacturing And Trading Opportunities For Indian Entrepreneurs

* Chinese and Hong Kong companies from more than 40 sectors to come to Mumbai with a variety of industrial and consumer products. * Style Hong Kong Pavilion will be an added attraction.

Mumbai, India, October 28th, 2013 — Being organized since 2004, the 11th edition of “China Products (Mumbai, India) Exhibition” will take place from 26th – 28th November, 2013 at the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (East), Mumbai, India. The longest running China Exhibition in India and also the definitive international sourcing platform for Indian business enterprises, this unique trade expo showcases more than 40 industries and verticals. The 11th China Products Exhibition will have an added attraction in the form of a Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) pavilion where companies from Hong Kong will showcase their range of stylish and contemporary products. Providing complimentary business matching services, the Exhibition assists Indian businesses in meeting their future business partners from China and Hong Kong.

The current edition is covering an extensive range of products across a wide section of industries like consumer electronics & durables, home appliances, fashion jewellery & accessories, machinery, machine tools, mechanical & electrical equipment & parts, power tillers, hydraulic equipment, grinding products, UPVC doors, wallpaper, medical equipment, traditional Chinese medicine, ceramic products, food & beverages, toys, LED products, silk, leather, fibres & yarns.

Powering Indian entrepreneurs to succeed for the 11th consecutive year, the Exhibition will help Indian enterprises source machinery and components from China – providing quality products at lower rates and logistics costs – thus bringing down manufacturing costs. Additionally, Indian traders, importers and distributors can source an extensive range of consumer products at more affordable prices for the burgeoning retail industry.

Despite the global and local scenario, the Indian economy is growing due to strong domestic consumption. With a rising middle class population expected to reach 267 million by 2015-16, as well as the world’s youngest population, the consumption pattern is expected to shift from food items to discretionary spending. The show offers an excellent opportunity for brands and companies to develop businesses in the areas of services and manufacturing along with the growing consumer market. India is also home to 48.8 million SMEs and 5 thousand large enterprises. This in itself is a huge potential market for companies to service the SME market owing to increasing need for efficiency and collaboration.

The trade show is being organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Guangdong Provincial Committee, Sub-councils of Commercial Industry, Ningbo, Hangzhou, Sichuan, Wuhan, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation of Guangdong Province and Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute. The Exhibition is supported by the All India Association of Industries (AIAI), the India-China Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ICCCI), the Indian Merchants’ Chamber (IMC) and managed by Worldex India.
