It is an add-on module which gives owners more features and convenience when it comes to using the top.
The SmartTOP controller allows use of the factory remote key fob to lower and raise the top fully automatically. Owners can simply open the convertible top while still approaching their car. All that is required is a quick button combination on the key remote.
Additionally the add-on kit enables one-touch operation for the center console switch. This means that the console switch does not have to be held down any longer for the duration of the operation. Driving with the top down becomes more accessible and will be enjoyed more often.
User configurable bonus features of the module include an extended mode which will not interrupt an ongoing top operation when the engine is started or stopped as well as a master switch that allows the entire module to be disabled while retaining all user settings. This custom designed enclosure was created to give the product a small and sleek footprint as well as to protect the electronics from moisture.
