Nine Year Old Illustrator and Author Mother Launch Kickstarter Campaign for YA Fantasy Fiction Book

Sydney Shiu a nine year old illustrator and her mother Tricia Steward Shiu have launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the publishing of their new book “Iron Shinto.”

Los Angeles, CA, USA (October 31, 2013) — Sydney Shiu a nine year old illustrator and her mother Tricia Steward Shiu have launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the publishing of their new book “Iron Shinto.”

Kickstarter is the world’s largest crowd-funding platform. The company’s mission is to help bring creative projects to life and “Iron Shinto” is now one of them. The worldwide campaign will cover editing, publishing and publicity for “Iron Shinto,” as well as the audio books for all three books in the Moa series. “Sydney does an incredible job in the project video of explaining her role in this breakout series, “Moa,” “Statue of Ku,” and “Iron Shinto,” says Tricia. “We would love the support of Young Adult Fantasy Fictions readers and others who just love books,” adds Shiu.

Donations begin at $1.00 and top off at $1,200. “We also have some incredible rewards for donating: an exclusive ritual for Kickstarter donors, an hour long book talk, signed paperbacks, MP3s, eBooks and much more!” says Shiu. Find out more at: Kickstarter or http://j.mp/1aqsJWb.

Iron Shinto, now in manuscript form has already garnered a FIVE STAR review by an Amazon Hall of Fame (Top 50) Reviewer Grady Harp who writes:

‘What exactly is real? Your thoughts make whatever you perceive to be real. Beyond that, what exists?’ Tricia Stewart Shiu has stepped into territory that few contemporary writers of novels have journeyed – concepts of many permutations of the spirit world as experienced and acted out by contemporary characters. Reading Shiu’s book IRON SHINTO (the third volume of her series of books entitled The Moa Books) is not only immensely entertaining as a story, but also illuminating as to the concepts of the levels of existence that bond the corporeal world with the spirit world.

Each chapter opens with a ritual that the reader can actually follow and perform, moments of enlightenment that heighten the meaning of the novel but also serve to open the reader’s mind to the seemingly endless possibilities of realms of existence – call it reincarnation or alternative levels of being or whatever connects the reader with a willingness to think along different lines. Though Shiu writes her books for a Teen or Young Adult audience, her commitment to expand the mind is so well centered that her audience could comfortably and satisfyingly include adult readers, especially those curious about universal levels of being.
–Grady Harp, Amazon Hall of Fame Reviewer

Iron Shinto is the third book in the Moa series by Tricia Stewart Shiu. All three chronicle a fanciful flight through time and space in a multi-dimensional universe of interplanetary spirits.

The author, in addition to being an award-winning playwright, is also a metaphysical adept who actually met Moa, the ancient Hawaiian spirit at the heart of the series. “When I was five,” Ms. Shiu explained, “I was visited by a vision. I’ll never forget it, I was running down the stairs and the entity, a girl with dark hair, stopped me in my tracks. The spirit said that I would go through a deeply challenging time in my life, but would resurface, later in life, with unimaginable joy and fulfillment. That vision stayed with me.”

Many years later, taking a nap during a visit to her husband’s family home in Honolulu, that dark-haired girl came back. “In my mind’s eye, I saw a beautiful young woman with dark hair, who said her name was Moaahuulikkiaaakea’o Haanaapeekuluueehuehakipuunahe’e-Moa for short.”

Ms. Shiu’s experience with this benevolent spirit launched her into a personal journey of spiritual exploration which included studies in mediumship, pagan and Huna rituals as well as an energy healing technique called “Crystalline Consciousness Technique.” She also studied a variety of shamanic clearing methods and healing rituals.

The result of the author’s unique background is that each chapter of the book begins with a meditative ritual that pertains to that chapter. Some of the rituals, oils or meditations are even mentioned in the plot of the book. All of these rituals are easily done by the reader and have remarkably soothing and healing properties.

The author sums it all up this way; “Whatever your belief or understanding of the metaphysical world, I believe that if one person is transformed through learning, then we are all transformed. I truly believe the Moa I met came through in this work and, just as I connected with her as I wrote, those who read the book will experience her as well.”

The Ideal Woman, According to Wealthy Men

A blonde, blue-eyed beauty appears to be the ideal woman for wealthy men looking for young, attractive women. Newly released survey findings reveal the most desirable as well as the most unwanted traits of a rich man’s dream woman.

San Rafael, CA, October 31, 2013 – The ideal woman of wealthy men is a young, 25-28 year old Caucasian blonde with blue eyes and a slim physique standing at about 5’6” tall, according to a new online study. www.SugarDaddyForMe.com, the world’s largest sugar daddy dating website, recently asked 1,352 wealthy male members to describe their ideal woman.

The top voted results reveal that the perfect “sugar baby” is also preferably 11-15 years younger than the sugar daddies who completed the survey. And when asked about the importance of other appearance factors, a sensual body ranked higher than a beautiful face. When asked to choose the one body feature that they like most on a woman, a slim body was by far the top choice, followed by great legs. Contrary to common stereotypes, large breasts were selected as only the third most important body feature by the rich men who replied to the survey, with a voluptuous derriere behind in fourth place in their preferences. The men surveyed deemed a beautiful smile fully 2 times as important as beautiful hair, which will surprise many women and please their dentists, but not their hairdressers.

The wealthy men were then asked to rate the importance of various personality characteristics. Having a great personality was rated twice as important as intelligence, and a woman’s sexual nature was rated almost 3 times as important as her ability to get along with his friends and family, or being a good travel partner.

The 3 most important personality characteristics according to the survey of rich men were:
1) Honesty
2) Loyalty
3) Faithfulness

The characteristics rich men find least important in their ideal woman include being successful, assertive, talkative and dominant. When asked what characteristics they found least attractive, a woman being a drama queen and demanding were both bigger negatives to these men even than a woman doing too much drugs. And a woman being liberal or conservative politically was one of the least important factors of all for these wealthy men.

When it comes to race and income, SugarDaddyForMe.com found that the smaller the man’s income, the less important race is. Most wealthy Caucasian and African-American men find women in their own race as being the ideal one. However a majority of the wealthy Asian and Hispanic men surveyed consider Caucasian women to be more attractive than women in their own race. And men with an annual income of less than $1 million prefer slim women, whereas men making over $1 million prefer athletic women.

Hanoi, Vietnam, October 31, 2013 – Vietnam-based Luxury Travel is attending both WTM and ILTM to promote luxury travel products at World Travel Market London 2013 (WTM) from November 4 to 7.

This year, Luxury Travel has expanded the size of its stand which will be located just in front of the Vietnam Tourism Board and Vietnam Airlines stand.

According to Pham Ha, founder of Luxury Travel, the UK has been a great market for the company, whose products appeal to British tastes and preferences, particularly tailor-made tours and the two set departure tours on offer.

The company enjoyed over 200% growth from the UK in the first 9 month of 2013, compared with the same period last year, partly because of favourable exchange rates.

Luxury Travel Ltd. has increased the number of private small groups that it served, primarily with tailor-made holidays.

Luxury travel is not just about limos and five-star hotels, but creating memorable experiences and Luxury Travel ensure that its guests feel part of the place rather than a casual observer, the authentic experience being particularly popular with visitors from Britain.

Getting off-the-beaten track, relaxing on the beach at less visited places such as Con Dao and Phu Quoc as well as combining Vietnam with visits to Cambodia, Laos or Myanmar are great favourites with the UK market.

Vietnam is appealing to British visitors because of its safety, affordable prices, authenticity, lovely weather and convenient direct flights with Vietnam Airlines.

SAFE International Launches New Montreal Self Defense Website – Montreal, QC Self Defense

SAFE International is launching its newly updated website for Montreal Women’s Self Defense as well as their other course offerings.

Montreal, QC, October 30, 2013 – (Straight Line PR) – Montreal Self Defense, SAFE International Launches New Montreal Women’s Self Defense Website.

SAFE International ™ is the leading provider of mobile women’s self defense training in Canada. SAFE International has taught more than 175,000 women since 1994. SAFE International is launching its newly updated website for Montreal Women’s Self Defense as well as their other course offerings.

Among the SAFE International course offerings you will find on the new website are:
SAFE International Montreal Women Self Defense Parties. Forget Tupperware Parties. Invite 6 to 8 of your friends for a few hours of fun, education and potentially life-saving instruction with one of their SAFE Women’s Self Defense Parties. Plan a meal, snacks, or dessert, and be prepared for a unique self defense experience! What has made them so popular is their unique method of teaching with humour and sharing of anecdotes. Get to experience the simulated attacks in scenario specific situations such as at the front door, the kitchen, the car, etc.

SAFE International Montreal Self Defense for high school students. SAFE International has become Canada’s most popular high school course for both boys and girls due to the fact that they are not teaching martial arts, but rather a practical approach to personal safety with an emphasis on detecting and defusing potentially dangerous situations. All of our instructors are certified through SAFE International and have a unique ability to reach the students in an effective and memorable manner. SAFE International teaches approximately 13,000 students each year with a heavy presence teaching self defense in Montreal, QC.

SAFE International offers Montreal Corporate Self Defense Courses. This self-protection seminar will provide employees with tips and strategies to recognize and avoid personal security risks while on the job. Through the teaching of both verbal and non-verbal techniques, the participants will learn how to take common sense measures to reduce the risk of being a victim. The knowledge they gain from the seminar can be applied to all aspects of their profession – sales, interacting with customers, travel, and other work related transactions. There are many instances when one might find themself in an uncomfortable and potentially threatening situation – entertaining clients, traveling, leaving late at night by car, taxi, public transport, walking, etc.

Montreal Self Defense for men is another course offering you will find on the new SAFE International website. Learn how to identify the most vulnerable areas of the body, and how to strike them in a quick, non-telegraphed manner. SAFE International instructors cover many devastating strikes such as eye rakes, palm strikes, elbows, knees, kicks plus how to attack other vulnerable areas of the body. A very popular concept taught at any Ottawa Self Defense course is, “The Shredder”, which can be best described as an extremely effective Close Quarter Concept that can be utilized in a wide range of low to potentially high level violent scenarios. The Shredder targets the most vulnerable areas of the attacker without having to memorize countless “techniques”. Another major benefit of the Shredder is that it does not require years to learn.  It is a concept of self defense that immediately disrupts the attacker’s ability to continue their attack, and allows the tables to be turned quickly and effectively in the victims favour.

Wellness Tourism Worldwide Announces Top 10 Wellness Travel Trends for 2014

2nd Annual Forecast Pre-Release.

Los Angeles, CA, USA (October 30, 2013) — Wellness Tourism Worldwide, a leading wellness travel business, is pleased to announce the release of its “Top 10 Wellness Travel Trends of 2014”. The forecast is based on data collection and research conducted throughout the year that consolidated trends across several sectors and industries to bring practical knowledge to both individuals and businesses.

WTW’s data and trend analysis included: site visits, literary review, surveys, interviews and feedback from consumers, travel trade, healthcare professionals, wellness experts and academia.

Camille Hoheb, wellness travel industry expert and founder of Wellness Tourism Worldwide and Editor of the Wellness Travel Journal noted, “The multi-dimensionality of wellness opens the door to a whole new world.” She added, “This forecast will encourage consumers and business to think of vacation travel in new ways. Our data shows that consumers view vacations as an important way to improve health, happiness and productivity. Vacation trips are often a catalyst for transformation and consumers view wellness travel as a personal investment.”

While last year’s forecast focused on the impact of wellness on air transit, hotel accommodation and destinations; this year’s report is focused on business and marketing strategy. The report, “Top 10 Wellness Travel Trends for 2014: Boosting Sales & Maximizing Profits” will be released in January.

Snapshot: Top 10 Wellness Travel Trends for 2014 (descriptions below)

1. Mind Matters
2. The Rise of Wellness Travel Agents
3. La Local Vita
4. Breaking Bread with Wellness Travel
5. Vacation RX
6. Looking for Personal Enrichment
7. Burgeoning Secondary Wellness Market
8. Slow Travel
9. Affluent & Altruistic
10. Spas on a Mission

Mind Matters:
Consumers have caught on to mindful vacations that offer mental restoration. Practices learned on a trip such as meditation, yoga, qi going and journaling can be incorporated at home to help manage stress, improve cognitive capacity and maintain emotional equilibrium.

The Rise of Wellness Travel Agents
With the growing interest in trips to enhance mind, body and spirit, wellness tourism has created a new niche for travel agents to grow or expand their business while offering a personally and professionally rewarding career specialty.

La Local Vita:
Consumers have developed a deeper appreciation for locally relevant and authentic experiences with an emphasis on living “la local vita” (the local life). Mindsets have shifted away from tourist behavior to a keen interest in community-based exploration where getting to know the locals in a meaningful way sweetens the experience.

Breaking Bread With Wellness
Food tourism is a big trend intersecting with wellness travel. In addition to the physical aspect of sustenance; food tours, cooking classes, agriculture and farm-to-table experiences speak to the emotional, social, intellectual and sustainable aspects of well-being.

Vacation RX:
“Take 2 weeks and call me in the morning.” Physicians are now prescribing vacations as an antidote from stress. Doctor’s orders for physical activity in parks are also being written to help combat obesity and diabetes in children.

Looking for Personal Enrichment
With the understanding that wellness is more than fitness and nutrition, consumers are choosing trips that either focus solely on personal enrichment or as a part of their travel plans. Many consumers are viewing vacations, weekend getaways and retreats as a catalyst for change.

Slow Travel:
Have you ever felt pressured to run through your vacation checking off sites to see and things to do? Slow travel advocates changing the pace in order to sip, savor and revel in the vacation experience.

Affluent & Altruistic:
Spurned by personal growth and discovery, affluent travelers value experiences connecting them to charitable causes and local communities. Volunteering on vacation has become increasingly popular and research shows altruism can improve well-being.

Burgeoning Secondary Wellness Market: There is a large segment of travelers who may not opt for wellness retreats or tours but are committed to maintaining their healthy lifestyle on the road. Air transit and hotels are investing resources to attract these guests that are both business and leisure travelers.

Spas on a Mission:
The spa industry is staking a claim on wellness tourism and on wellness in general. Eager to shake the image of pampering for the affluent, spas are repacking and rebranding as wellness providers to attract a larger market.

Hydro Dynamics HHO, Releases New Website HydroDynamo.com

HydroDynamo.com was designed to inform the public on how to Save fuel and Reduce Carbon Pollution created by Diesel and Gasoline engines.

Boca Raton, FL, October 30, 2013 – The public in alarming numbers is voicing concerns over the high cost of fuel and the record levels of Carbon Pollution (400 PPM). The price of fuel around the world is at high levels, the public is demanding a solution.

The new HydroDynamo.com website domain was designed to inform and offer solutions. The website is linked to HydroDynamicsHHO.com‘s website and information blog. Here the consumer can find the latest and most up to date information available.

The easiest and most efficient solution for those who commute over the road is a Hydrogen “Booster”. This is where Hydrogen gas is injected into an engine helping petroleum fuels burn cleaner and more efficiently. NASA has been using Hydrogen for over 20 years, it was on all the Space Shuttle Missions (NASA.gov).

To properly harness and utilize Hydrogen gas safely requires knowledge and experience. Kits or homemade HHO units may lack the integrity and design necessary to be safe and work properly. Some instructions (DIY) show how to use a plastic bottle or glass Mason jar; kits may have a thin plastic housing and get very hot when the needed power is supplied to them. These methods can be dangerous and may burn up or stop working.

Hydrogen on demand is safe when properly used. It can help internal combustion engines run smoother and cleaner reducing the Carbon pollution they create (+/-85%) and helps burn fuel more efficiently increasing MPG (20% to 50%).

Those interested in utilizing Hydrogen gas, look for a unit that is well constructed and large enough to handle the current/amperage needed for your engine. Follow directions and find that “sweet spot,” you will be helping yourself and the environment. Information is available online; at www.HydroDynamo.com

The HydroDynamicsHHO.com™ team has been advancing Hydrogen Technologies since 1999. They have incorporated the latest designs into their latest release; the Hydro Dynamo “Booster, ™ improvements others do not have. Individuals and Companies interested in saving fuel and helping our environment call or email for the latest information and updates.

SAFE International Nepean Self Defense for high school students. SAFE International teaches approximately 13,000 students each year with a heavy presence teaching self defense in Nepean, ON.

SAFE International offers Nepean Corporate Self Defense Courses.

Nepean Self Defense for men is another course offering you will find on the new SAFE International website.

Wearable Tech Trends to Watch on November 7 at Golden Networking’s Wearable Computing Conference NYC

Golden Networking brings Wearable Computing Conference 2013 New York City (www.wearable-computing-conference.com), “Revolutionizing the Human Experience Through Next-Generation Technology”, November 7.

New York City, NY, USA (October 29, 2013) — Wearable technology is all the rage, but the craze goes beyond connected eyewear such as Google Glass and smart timepieces such as Samsung Galaxy Gear and Apple’s rumored iWatch. Designers are creating apparel, accessories and fitness wear that can do everything from monitor your heart rate to charge your smartphone. These trends will be debated at Golden Networking’s Wearable Computing Conference 2013 (http://www.wearable-computing-conference.com), “Revolutionizing the Human Experience Through Next-Generation Technology”, to be held in New York City, on November 7.

CNBC reports that start-up Heapsylon has a smart sock, Sensoria, that is paired with an anklet to automatically detect the type and level of activity based on pressure signals coming from the foot of the wearer. Sensors in the sock communicate data to the anklet, which then can relay the information to the user via an app. For example, it can track a runner’s regular form and send an alert when he or she is making an injurious movement.

Berlin-based label Moon Berlin, which makes luxury clothing, focuses on using technology to enhance the look of its designs. Soft-circuit LEDs are integrated into the garments, connected to an electrical circuit attached to rubber-like materials that are integrated into fabrics.

Someday users may be able to charge their smartphone with their clothes. Flexible solar panels have inspired designers to come up with clothes and accessories that can power electronics. Start-up Wearable Solar is using the technology to make lightweight wired garments that enable the wearer to charge a smartphone up to 50 percent if worn in the sun for a full hour. Finally, New York-based Voltaic Systems makes a collection of bags that can charge a variety of devices.

Topics that Wearable Computing Conference 2013 will discuss include:

– Key Features of Wearable Technologies
– A New World for Application Developers
– How Wearable Technologies Will Transform the Human Experience
– Wearable Computing and its Impact on the Technology Marketplace
