Jazz Collective Sasha’s Bloc Partners with Grammy-Winning Vocal Group Take 6 on new single “Runaway Blues,” available June 3

The accompanying music video will also be available on June 3.

Los Angeles, CA, June 02, 2016 – The critically acclaimed jazz collective Sasha’s Bloc has teamed up with the ten-time Grammy-winning vocal group Take 6 to release their new single, “Runaway Blues.” This enticing track blends the big band jazz sound from Sasha’s Bloc with the smooth gospel tones of Take 6 and will be available digitally on June 3. The single’s accompanying music video, which documents the groups’ recording session at the legendary Capitol Records, will also be available on June 3.

“Runaway Blues” features a sound that is a slight departure from the traditional 1920’s-40’s style big band arrangements that Sasha’s Bloc has become known for. With lead vocals by Take 6 member Alvin Chea and lush harmonies provided by both the smooth voices of Take 6 and the Sasha’s Bloc ensemble, “Runaway Blues” is a jazz, gospel, and blues crossover that is sure to strike a chord with fans of any of these genres. “Runaway Blues” is a story about life, love, and the ability to be honest with yourself. The song was recorded live at Capitol Records, in a room that Sasha’s Bloc bassist and bandleader Alex Gershman describes as “very much alive… It gives you goosebumps to think you were in the same room as legends such as Frank Sinatra.”

Alex Gershman has previously collaborated with Alvin Chea from Take 6, on Sasha’s Bloc’s recent and well-received second album, Heart On Fire. Gershman says that he was thinking for a long time about combining all the elements he loves from jazz, blues, and gospel. When looking for collaborators to make Runaway Blues a reality, Gershman notes that he didn’t have to look far. “[While] writing this song I had Take 6 in my mind all the time,” he says.

The new music video for “Runaway Blues” features the musicians from both groups in the process of recording the track live at Capitol Records. Directed by Alex Chaloff with cinematography by Ricky Chavez, Nick Brosco, and Alejandro Echevarria, the video captures the magic that Sasha’s Bloc and Take 6 brought to the legendary studio.

Local Author, Joseph Sabol Publishes “Adoptee: A Childhood of Torment”

An Inspirational Tale of Overcoming an Abusive Childhood.

Cleveland, OH (USA), May 26th, 2016 — What begins as a tragic story of childhood bullying coupled with emotional and physical abuse turns into an inspirational story of one local resident who has become an award winning entrepreneur. Joseph Sabol’s story, as chronicled in his self-published autobiography Adoptee: A Childhood of Torment, pulls no punches, quite literally, when retelling his story of being in the foster system prior to being adopted by John and Tilly Sabol.

“I suffered years of bullying, beatings and humiliating treatment even after I was adopted,” said Joseph Sabol. “All through my school years the other students and even some of the nuns and teachers would make fun of me, beat me and abuse me to a point where most would give up and escape through drugs or alcohol. However, I learned early on that the way to survive was to turn and face my abusers and stand up for myself.”

Joseph attributes much of his ability to survive and thrive to his adoptive parents. They provided the support and strength he needed to continue going back to an abusive environment each day. Adoptee: A Childhood of Torment, not only graphically describes what it was like to face such intensive abuse but also chronicles Sabol’s search for his birth mother and father. At the time of his search, Ohio was a closed state for an adoptee seeking information about their birth parents, however, that didn’t deter Sabol from his quest.

One reader and fellow student of Sabol’s had this to say about the book:
“The author’s ability to tell his story and understand his victimization and go on to a successful happy life can be an example for all! I am proud to call him my classmate.”

Having survived more than a decade of torment, Joseph has grown to be a successful business owner and now wants to share his message of survival with the world.

“There is a way out of this kind of life,” says Sabol. “I want to reach others who might be trapped in a life of emotional and physical abuse and let them know there is a way to survive and thrive. You have to seek help from those you trust. You have to ask, you can’t allow your abusers to take away your voice.”

Joseph Sabol is currently working with executives in the entertainment industry to find a way to bring his story to a larger audience. For more information or to purchase Joseph Sabol’s book Adoptee: A Childhood of Torment, visit Amazon or Barnes and Nobel.

Country Radio,” along with the rest of the tracks off of Blood Like Wine, were recorded in the famous Castle Recording Studios in Nashville, TN with well-known country producer Jeff Huskins (Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Clint Black, Shania Twain). With her stirring, soulful vocals, Angie discusses a sparking infatuation with a prospective lover. Bruyere’s rasp and rawness is what shines through this upbeat, edgy Americana single.

In her youth, Angie Bruyere began songwriting when she started creating music out of her poetry. Known as a dynamic performer, Angie has played in some of Southern California’s premier venues such as Pappy and Harriet’s, Whisky a Go Go, The Troubadour, The Roxy and The Mint. In addition, Bruyere has toured across the United States, through Italy and the rest of Europe. Angie looks forward to continue her touring in support of her Blood Like Wine EP.

The six-song release, Blood Like Wine, will be followed by an additional EP, which includes the second half of Angie’s Nashville recordings and will be released later this year.

In Nashville, Bruyere was fortunate to work with renowned musicians such as; Troy Lancaster (Loretta Lynn, Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift), Aubrie Haynie (Blake Shelton, Hank Williams Jr., Merle Haggard), Scott Sanders (Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, Alan Jackson), John Willis (Johnny Cash, Van Morrison, Kenny Rogers), Kevin “Swine” Grant (Willie Nelson, Linda Rondstat, Toby Keith), Fred Eltringham (Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow), Evan Hutchings, Dave Doran and mastered by legendary and Grammy Winning, Bob Ludwig (Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix).

In 2014, Angie released West of the Night, which was followed by a Fender sponsorship that featured Angie as Fender’s artist of the month. Along with, two fender sessions of her “Goodbyes” and “Mason Jar” singles.

“Bruyere’s sultry voice stood out, as she possesses a distinctive purr that is both sweet and dangerous at the same time.”-Fender

Roxanne Fawcett is Gallery’s New Featured Artist

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that abstract artist Roxanne Fawcett has been named as the Gallery’s new featured artist.

Jupiter, FL, USA — Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that abstract artist Roxanne Fawcett has been named as the Gallery’s new featured artist.

Roxanne’s artistic journey started out with a generous and patient family, some crazy days at UC Berkeley and a wonderful West Coast life.

If asked where her art comes from, she would say it comes from a lot of creative genetics, a smattering of really good teachers, a couple of interesting encounters with the judicial system, a healthy fear of quicksand and a natural avoidance of the traditional career path.

In describing her art Roxanne would probably use such words as ‘colorful’, ‘textured’, ‘graphic’, ‘interpretive’, possibly ‘transitional’ or ‘natural’. She tends to work in series…acrylic on canvas or paper, mixed media occasionally, messy and loose. You can find more of Roxanne’s art at http://www.rgfawcettdesign.com.

Gionni Straccia Fashion Show

• SPRING 2017 COLLECTION inspired on flowers, romance and femininity
• A runway in support of WIZO Florida was the scenario for the catwalk

Miami, FL, 2016-May-16 — /EPR Network/ — Venezuelan designer Gionni Straccia (www.gstraccia.com), a well-recognized figure in the couture fashion world, debuted yesterday his first collection ever; the “Gionni Straccia Spring 2017 Collection”. The fashion show took place during the “Mother’s Day Sponsor-a-Child Luncheon and Bazaar”; a non-profit event organized by the ladies from the Women International Zionist Organization (WIZO Florida), in the ballroom of the Beth Torah, Benny Rok Campus, located in the city of Miami.

With an inspiration that blended romance and femininity, Gionni Straccia Spring 2017 set the stage for exclusive designs that revealed the richness of a flower – expressing the sweetness and tenderness that flow from it- but highlighting a touch of excitement for the subtle, elegant and tasteful woman.

More than 300 guests were entertained while fabulous models, that included one Miss Universe, showcased the new clothing collection dominated by the use of two Straccia’s favorites: crepes silk and laces. Also, Italian tulle and organza embellished exquisite dresses, most of them with artistic embroidered and hand-painted flowers. Keeping with the trending cape dress, the designer offered a complete collection of stunning short cocktail dresses, pants suits, and evening gowns, that came in white, black, red, pink, and navy colors. Responding to a woman’s dressing needs for the different occasions in her life, Straccia added to the collection an astonishing wedding dress that left attending crowd impressed by the beauty and elegance of this piece.

The Italian-Venezuelan designer is excited with the accomplishment of his very first full collection, “I am really very happy with the outcome. I wanted to express women’s romanticism, femininity and their sweetness,” said Straccia,“and I tried to rescue a technique of hand-painted flowers, to be in tune with the latest fashion trends, but highlighting the indelible Gionni Straccia stamp”.

The WIZO Florida, “Sponsor-a-Child” event included a bazaar with an exclusive diverse group of exhibitors that showcased beautiful pieces in jewelry, decorative items, clothing and many other accessories. As part of its annual gathering, WIZO Florida honored one of its members with a ‘Mother of the Year’ award. This time the privilege went to Colombian native, Margie Szerer, for exemplifying a WIZO woman, dedicated to her family, committed to Israel and a true leader for WIZO Florida.

“We are very proud to have presented renowned designer Gionni Straccia’s spring 2017 Collection at our ‘Mother’s Day Sponsor a Child’ fundraising event” said Suzanne Berkovits Harper, Director of WIZO Florida. “This event has grown each year and has become an icon in our community and one of the premier Mother’s Day events in South Florida, honoring and remembering mothers while benefiting women and children in need in Israel.”
