Kirk DeWindt Personal Training Expands Services and Grows Fitness Team

Kirk DeWindt Personal Training is now providing obstacle course race personal training in Robinsdale, MN.

Robinsdale, MN, USA — Kirk DeWindt Personal Training (KDPT), a personal training company based out of Robinsdale, MN, is expanding its services to include preparation for obstacle course racing. Focused on agility, speed, and endurance, the premier fitness training services help individuals hone the skills necessary to perform at a high level in obstacle races. To meet the increased demand for obstacle course race training, KDPT (http://www.kirk-dewindt.com) is growing their team with the hiring of an additional personal trainer. The new trainer will offer a wide range of personal training specialties and be available for sessions in early June.

Over the last decade, obstacle course racing has exploded in popularity throughout the country garnering more popularity than marathons in recent years according to USA Today. An accomplished obstacle course racer in his own right, DeWindt noticed the lack of obstacle course race training services currently available and saw an opportunity to help people achieve their goals.

“Obstacle course racing is all about challenging yourself to become better,” said DeWindt, owner of Kirk DeWindt Personal Training. “Through these personal training sessions, I strive to not only help people perform better in races, but also discover a strength inside of them they didn’t realize was there.”

KDPT’s obstacle course race training sessions specifically target agility, speed and endurance. Sessions are structured to combine these different fitness aspects and gradually increase in intensity to continuously challenge and grow a client’s ability level.

To support the Minneapolis personal trainer’s growing client base, DeWindt has hired an additional trainer, Travis Eisenbraun. This team expansion will allow KDPT to offer even more specialized personal training options for obstacle course racing and beyond.

“Travis specializes in helping clients meet their strength building and fat loss goals,” said DeWindt. “His positive attitude is contagious and he has an undeniable passion for fitness.”

New Children’s Book “Mama Stitches” Offers Message of Love and Community

Mama Stitches is the first book in a series of original stories about how a mother dog, her puppies and their owner sew clothes for the homeless and cover them with love.

New Britain, CT (USA), June 22nd, 2016 — The latest book from the awarding winning house of Halo Publishing International is Akintunde “Tunde” Sogunro’s book Mama Stitches: To Cover with Love. Mama Stitches is the first book in a series of original stories about how a mother dog, her puppies and their owner sew clothes for the homeless and cover them with love. Beautifully illustrated by former Disney artist, Chad Thompson, this story shares a message of love and acceptance, of generosity and community; perfect for reading aloud to your children.

“I wanted to create a story about the importance of love to be shared with children who may or may not feel supported and encouraged at home,” said author, Tunde. “I believe everyone is born with a voice but as we grow and experience pain in life we begin to wear masks and lose touch with our voice, identity and dream. As Mama Stitches says: “Everyone has a story and a song in their heart. I love to listen close and sew them just what they need!

“My hope is that, as children fall in love with Mama Stitches, they will fall in love with reading and subsequently show love to the homeless and needy in their community. It is the love, literacy and community movement,” said Tunde. “Let’s start a love revolution!”

As part of that desire to unite a community, Tunde has been working over the past several months to bring together libraries, churches, government officials and families for the Mama Stitches 5,000 Back-to-School Book Release Block Party where the vision is to provide 5,000 copies of Mama Stitches to 5,000 children and collect 5,000 articles of clothing for the homeless.

This will be the debut event of Cover With Love (www.coverwithlove.org), a new non-profit that partners with other organizations such as Reality Outreach Unlimited, Coram Deo, Family Promise for the Homeless and Paradym Inc, that is dedicated to showcasing the radical power of unconditional Agape love to the world!

“The message of “cover with love” in Tunde’s book Mama Stitches is so joyful,” said Lisa Umina, founder and president of Halo Publishing. “Tunde’s passion for building community through this message of love and literacy is inspiring and I hope everyone will have a chance to read this clever story. I imagine many will relate to Mama Stitches’ pup Little Mama who wants to be good but takes a little bit longer to understand the benefits of giving back. It is fun to watch her grow to be filled with the community spirit.”

The Mama Stitches 5,000 Back-to-School Book Release Block Party is schedule for August 20, 2016 from 10am-2pm. Utilizing the totality of the historic Trinity-On-Main performing Arts Center, (located at 69 Main Street, New Britain, Ct 06051), there will be story-telling, face painting, caricature drawing, games, “Dunk the Major” with New Britain Mayor, Erin Stewart and puppy petting. Admission to the event is a donation of clothing. Business or organizations interested in ensuring inner city children are introduced to Mama Stitches’ love, can pre-order copies of Mama Stitches on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. They may also sponsor special edition copies of Mama Stitches for inner city and DCF foster care children by contacting Tunde directly at tundedriven2inspire@gmail.coim

“We want to create an idea that will last and the message of Mama Stitches is just that,” said Tunde. “What better way than to share the message of “cover with love” at an old fashioned block party where the entire community comes together. Our goal is to have 5,000 copies Mama Stitches: To Cover with Love sponsored so that the children of Greater New Britain and Greater Hartford areas can receive a free copy for their own enjoyment.”

The Mama Stitches Movement has just received exciting endorsements from countless public figures including Nancy Serra, Superintendent of New Britain Public Schools, Mayor Erin Stewart, and award winning author Catherine Gibson. To learn more, visit www.mamastitches.com and www.coverwithlove.org . Mama Stitches: To Cover with Love is available to pre-order at Amazon and Barnes and Noble; $21.95 in hardcover.

Roof Crafters Gives Away New Roof

Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 2016-Jun-22 — /REAL TIME PRESS RELEASE/ — After Roof Crafters gives away new roof, Mid-city homeowner Yolanda White was delighted to hear her leaking roof would get fixed when a team of volunteers from Tulsa, Ok. came to town. Then the news got better.

After Roof Crafters gives away new roof, Mid-city homeowner Yolanda White was delighted to hear her leaking roof would get fixed when a team of volunteers from Tulsa, Ok. came to town. Then the news got better.

The project at White’s house changed when Vaughn, an Owens-Corning Platinum Contractor, contacted Magee, another Platinum Preferred installer with Owens Corning, to see if Magee had a “backup crew” available in case inclement weather or other difficulties forced the Tulsa team to return home before the project was complete. Being community minded Roof Crafters gives away new roof by providing all the labor to install the roofing system.

“[Magee] said, ‘Hey, I’ve got a crew that will do the whole thing,’” Vaughn said. Materials were donated by ABC Supply, a nationwide supplier.

White’s one-story home was elevated after the storm, but the roof was not replaced at the time. White has lived in the 50-year old house for 15 years.

Team coordinator Dr. Amy Emerson said the team wanted to help White because she gives so much to others.

“She is an incredible lady who uses her vacation time each year to cook two hot meals for children in the Hollygrove neighborhood, who attend a week-long summer camp,” Emerson said. “It’s fun to see all kinds of people come together to do this project.”

Other activities held in conjunction with the team’s visit included a “Pete the Cat” literacy event, based on the popular children’s series books by Eric Litwin. Free books were provided for children that attended. The churches are co-led by ministers Charles Marsalis and Kirk Garrison.

While the long-standing partnership with the Oklahoma team has made them “family,” White said the focus of the week was on the children and not the adults workers. “Even though it’s just for a few days, the children are getting something they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.”

AOA Lead ‘March against Monsanto’ with New Single and Music Video, ‘Paradise’ (ft. Deploi)!

“Astronauts Of Antiquity superbly deliver. Exquisite vocals and compelling grooves….always rocks the house!” -Time Out London

“Hypnotic listen that drips with beauty.” -Sonicjive.com

“A stunning crossover between urban trip hop and straight pop genres…..powerful lyrics…infectious beat…gets it’s message across….now is the prefect time to get on the Astronauts hype train”. – Real Music Network

New York, NY, June 20, 2016 – US based altpop/ triphop collective, AOA (Astronauts Of Antiquity) debut their single, ‘Paradise’. The song’s recent release date coincided with the March Against Monsanto phenomenon taking place in major cities worldwide. AOA, along with artists such as Neil Young are at the forefront of the March Against Monsanto with their new single, ‘Paradise’, from their upcoming EP, ‘Beyond The Maze’. The track was mixed by Martin Cooke (Muse, Death Cab For Cutie, Flying Lotus) and was mastered by Ian Sefchick from Capitol Records.

AOA’s debut single has already received a considerable buzz. ‘Paradise’ was recently featured in the Huffington Post highlighting the band’s conscious musical efforts towards the harmful effects of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The single also debuted on the CMJ Hip Hop Charts at #36, climbed to #22 and continues to raise its chart position.

At the heart of ‘Paradise’ is Los Angeles based rapper and spoken word artist Deploi. Deploi’s expansive lyrics are delivered with urgency in matters concerning Monsanto, referencing George Orwell’s ‘Animal Farm’ and the obesity epidemic in the West. Tieing in with the core message of ‘Paradise’, AOA’s vocalist, India (Best Female Vocalist–Detroit Music Awards), offers up a distinctly swaggering vocal style with intriguing melodies that are hard to ignore. B. Rhyan (Bernie Worrell) throws dark, haunting guitars over Ivica’s (SonyEpic) arrangement of electronic soundscapes sending tension and atmosphere throughout the track. ‘Paradise’highlights the many issues with Monsanto’s genetically modified food that has been stated in scientific studies to cause health and environmental problems.

The discussion around Monsanto is a lively one; GMOs remain a hot topic of debate for people everywhere. The March Against Monsanto movement continues to grow and has now garnered over a million followers on Facebook. AOA recently released their accompanying music video for ‘Paradise’, a satirical take on the dangers of corporate dominance. Aside from their quirky magnetism and bohemian charm, AOA has clear, strong messages laced with mesmerizing song craft, gaining attention from the likes of Rick Rubin and Jeannie Hopper.

‘Paradise’ sets the pace for a prolific array of upcoming releases from the talented group. Watch out for AOA as they catapult onto the world stage.

First Edition Design Publishing Releases New Book, “Chicken Salad and Ghosts” by Melanie Spycher

Chicken Salad and Ghosts, by Melanie Spycher, tells us a ghost story filled with ghostly encounters of a positively playful and prank filled kind.

Tampa, FL, USA — Melanie Spycher’s Chicken Salad and Ghosts is partially an autobiography and part female mystery adaptation. But first, let me introduce myself: I am Nonni in this book. As I am writing this, I can hardly believe it’s been over thirty years since the depicted events took place. You may not believe in ghosts, and I am not documenting these experiences to convince you. I’m simply writing this book because, when reflecting on these memories in my life, thought they were worth sharing with others, both believers and nonbelievers.

Back in the seventies I owned a shop in the basement of a three-story, early 1900s house for three years. Though the area was quite small, I managed to keep it well stocked with hand crafted items representing over one hundred consignors. Above my business was the two-story house that functioned as an antique store. As the strange events began taking place, and then increased in frequency, Cookie, who owned the antique store, and I assumed that someone was playing pranks on us. What other explanation could there be? But that was until we began sharing our experiences with other shop owners and found that they, too, had stories to share.

Melanie Spycher was a nurse for thirty years, but ventured down a different path in 1976 when hearing a small consignment shop was for sale. While she expected some challenges in the new business environment, she never anticipated that ghosts would be amongst them. Though Melanie’s time as a small business owner was brief, the playful antics of a resident ghost changed her life forever.

Future Electronics Promotes Power Metal Strip Resistors from Vishay

Pointe Claire, Quebec (realtimepressrelease) June 21, 2016 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components founded in 1968 by Robert Miller, recently announced immediate shipping availability of Power Metal Strip resistors from Vishay.

Vishay’s new surface mount Power Metal Strip current sense resistor is in a compact 1206 case size that combines an extended power rating to 0.5W with a Kelvin 4-terminal connection that reduces TCR down to 35ppm and enables tight tolerances down to 0.1% for increased measurement accuracy.

Offering twice the power of standard resistors in a 1206 footprint, the new device allows designers to save board space and reduce costs by utilizing fewer and smaller components. With its 4-terminal construction, the resistor reduces system errors while eliminating the need for system calibration during manufacturing as well as in the field to further reduce costs and improve end product performance.

It is ideal for all types of current sensing, voltage division, and pulse applications in power management for cell phones; DC/DC converters for servers, VRMs for laptops, and Li-Ion battery safety and management; industrial instrumentation; and automotive electronic control such as engine, transmission, anti-lock brakes, audio, and climate controls.

Like all Power Metal Strip resistors, the device features an all-welded construction that contributes to its superior electrical performance. A proprietary processing technique produces extremely low resistance values ranging from 0.01Ω to 0.05Ω, with tight tolerances of 0.1%, 0.5%, and 1.0%. The device is RoHS compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green.

Unique Slow Flowers Workshop in Santa Cruz Features Innovative Bay Area Floral Designer Teresa Sabankaya and Internationally Known Outdoor Living Expert, writer, lecturer and Slow Flowers Founder Debra Prinzing

Innovative Bay Area floral designer Teresa Sabankaya will team up with renowned floral expert Debra Prinzing, founder of Slowflowers.com to offer an inspiring two-part workshop for floral professionals at a beautiful private garden in Santa Cruz.

Santa Cruz, CA, June 20, 2016 — Innovative Bay Area floral designer Teresa Sabankaya will team up with renowned floral expert Debra Prinzing, founder of Slowflowers.com to offer an inspiring two-part workshop for floral professionals at a beautiful private garden in Santa Cruz.

“Slow Flowers Creative Workshop,” set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, is designed to help floral designers and Farmer-Florists clarify, document and communicate their personal artistic message as a floral professional by focusing on brand-building, floral storytelling and media messaging.

Sabankaya, founder and creative director of Bonny Doon Garden Co. and creator of the unique Bonny Doon Posies arrangements, will work with participants to explore and expand their approach to garden-inspired design and identify the inspiration for their floral designs.

The will participate in her hands-on exercises that build support for their designs’ inspired floral elements and complementary elements and focus on how to make the mechanics that support their style work as they create an arrangement of their own.

Sabankaya, whose floral designs have become highly desirable due to their unique style of arranging and elegant garden appeal, is considered one of the most innovative florists in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Prinzing is a writer, speaker, outdoor living expert and advocate for American flower farming and author of “Slow Flowers: Four Seasons of Locally Grown Bouquets from the Garden, Meadow and Farm” and “The 50 Mile Bouquet: Seasonal, Local and Sustainable Flowers.”

The website slowflowers.com is an online directory to help people find floral professionals who are committed to using American-grown flowers.

The workshop will take place over one and a half days in a private garden in the Santa Cruz area. Guests will receive location and map to the garden after they register.

Cost for the workshop is $525 and includes all instruction, materials, supplies, flowers, morning coffee/refreshments, two lunches and a cocktail reception in the garden. It also includes a guest’s own gallery of images from the sessions and their design work.

In a safe, supportive and intimate setting, the small group will spend 24-plus hours focusing on Slow Flowers “brand building” and how each participant can find his or her own voice as a floral storyteller. Subjects that will be covered include:

• How to evoke and express your personal story as a creative individual
• How to play with words to describe the natural world’s color, texture and form
• How to tell your flower memoir as metaphor for your brand
• How to flex your sensory muscles
• How brand development can capture key distinctives in words and images that define you
• How to use storytelling in a media pitch — learn how to be a resource for targeted media

On the second day, Sabankaya will lead participants in a floral design exercise that identifies the essential spirit of “garden-inspired design.” They will learn how to build the support for the inspired/complementary elements and learn how to make the mechanics work.

After her presentation, participants will choose from local, seasonal roses, dahlias and other signature blooms and create an arrangement that expresses their personal take on garden-inspired design. Sabankaya will cover sourcing of botanical ingredients, growing decisions and foraging approaches. Coached by her, each student will photo-style her/his creation for web, marketing and portfolio use.

During the design portion of this module, Prinzing will interview each participant individually about their philosophy and provide them with tips on creating a floral narrative for their design.

Registrants will be sent a pre-planning packet of exercises created by Prinzing two weeks prior to the workshop. The goal for these exercises is that the more time and thought invested in the exercises, the more rewarding the 24-hour experience will be.
