Cheryl Roy-Laber Uses Humor to Promote Anti-Bullying Message

More than 150 million Americans play video games, and 60 percent play video games on a daily basis with the average video gamer spending nearly 29 hours with a game console each month.

San Antonio, TX, USA, November 22, 2018 — More than 150 million Americans play video games, and 60 percent play video games on a daily basis with the average video gamer spending nearly 29 hours with a game console each month. By week, this accounts for three to five hours playing games on a device.

Author and accountant Cheryl Roy-Laber affirms that these games can often be addictive for kids. “It is hard for parents to get their children away from that, and it can be difficult for parents to get their children outdoors.”

Raising four sons and two step-daughters, video game use was something that Roy-Laber had to personally navigate in her own parenting.

Luckily, she comments that now, all of her children have gone on to have successful careers. But the fascination for video games ended up serving an unlikely end for Roy-Laber, who went on to write a fictional novel where one particular video game is mysteriously linked to the disappearance of many youth in the community.

Roy-Laber’s debut novel is entitled “Final Level: Animalized” and it also advances a strong message to combat bullying, the author explains.

“A lot of the story has to do with bullying and what happens when kids come together to help each other,” the author explains. “It takes a team to get out of crisis. We need more of that: people coming together and helping each other out.”

In the game, the characters are transformed into animals, which allowed the author to combine elements of their human and animal characteristics. This was also an opportunity for Roy-Laber to introduce humorous incidents to better convey her message.

Publisher Lisa M. Umina adds, “This is not only an entertaining story for readers of all ages but it also teaches important lessons about the importance of working as a team to confront difficult situations in life.”

For more information about Cheryl Roy-Laber visit www.halopublishing.com. “Final Level: Animalized” is now available at Halo Publishing International, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Goodreads, and Books a Million in Paperback for $13.95and as an e-Book for $6.99.

Cynthia Ransom Promotes Holistic Health Options to Foster Wellbeing

The debate over health care rages on, yet in truth, it has little correlation to being healthy. Holistic health practitioner Cynthia Ransom, a Traditional Naturopath, points out that our health care system is failing us in key areas.

San Antonio, TX, USA, November 13, 2018 — The debate over health care rages on, yet in truth, it has little correlation to being healthy. Holistic health practitioner Cynthia Ransom, a Traditional Naturopath, points out that our health care system is failing us in key areas.

“Health care costs are skyrocketing, and yet we’re still experiencing a spike in diseases such as Alzheimer’s and autism,” Ransom explains. “Additionally, there is little preventative health care in medicine—it’s all about finding disease early, not prevention.”

According to Ransom, using holistic methodologies for health care is largely overlooked by medical professionals because of the legalities in the way our medical system is structured. What doctors can’t tell you, Ransom does, opening the door to another world by using holistic thought in addition to allopathic medicine.

“In our current health care system, we are like sheep,” says Ransom. “We funnel in, get tested, get medicated, and move on. If this standardized methodology was working, we would see a spike in health, not in disease rates and health care costs. I came up with the Blue Sheep Movement because I believe there is a better way to create and maintain health.”

Ransom proposes a distinct approach: “You can incorporate the best of medicine but also take a personal stance on your health, incorporating nutritional, emotional, and holistic methodology to stay out of what I call the sick care system.”

To help others become aware of their options, Ransom has written her first book, “The Blue Sheep Movement,” comprised of personal stories that educate readers about holistic approaches to health and empower people to make the best decision for them given their particular health situation.

Of the book, Ransom comments, “I want to open the door to more conversations.” She is teaming up with other doctors and health professionals in the holistic arena to present this information to the public through a series of speaking engagements.

“We want to be of service, to aid people in their decision making as they navigate different options available to them. But the first step is that people have to know there are viable alternatives they can pursue.”

Publisher Lisa M. Umina adds, “This book is a resource with the potential to help so many people who are looking for to promote their holistic health. Ransom is contributing her knowledge and experience to this ongoing conversation in an important way.”

Matthew S. Miklasz Promotes Authenticity as a Key to Living an Impactful Life

With four children of his own, Miklasz is well aware of the pressure the next generations face to conform to societal expectations, whether iterated on the television or through pervasive social media.

San Antonio, TX, USA, November 7, 2018 — Pastor Matthew S. Miklasz has witnessed the power of authenticity first-hand, drawing from both his theological training and his thirty years of coaching experience, where he has worked with both athletes and other pastors.

With four children of his own, Miklasz is well aware of the pressure the next generations face to conform to societal expectations, whether iterated on the television or through pervasive social media. To deal with these social pressures, Miklasz encourages people to turn to God and find their “normal.”

“Being the ‘normal’ that God created you to be is an incredible step towards realizing your full potential and positively affecting the people who surround you. Great freedom and confidence emerge when we live according to who God created us to be,” Miklasz explains.

“I want people to discover the deep conviction that God created them uniquely and that He loves them very passionately,” says Miklasz. “When we live with these two convictions, it allows us to impact lives in greater ways. The more authentic we are, the more authentic our worship is, the more authentic our relationships are, especially the deep inner relationship with God.”

With the encouragement of his eldest daughter Angela, Miklasz decided to share this message with the world by penning his first book, “A Normal Guy.”

On his book, Miklasz comments, “I hope to share what I really believe, my deepest convictions. Through my Christian walk, I have journalized many impactful moments about insights and teachings from God that informed my writing process,” comments Miklasz.

“This is such an important read today and for future generations,” adds Publisher Lisa M. Umina. “We should each be able to embrace our ‘normal’ selves, and Miklasz is equipping readers with the tools to do this.”

The book launch events will be held at the following dates and locations:
Saturday, December 1st, Holiday Bazaar Thorp High School – Thorp Wisconsin 9:00a.m. – 3:00p.m.
Saturday, December 8th, The Grounds Coffee Shop – Cokato Minnesota 9:00a.m. – 12:00p.m.

God’s Eternal Purpose Volume Two: The Identity of the Sons of God: The Image of Jesus Christ

In the newest book from prolific author Clement Butler, he helps the reader learn, through Scripture, the identity of the sons of God, and God’s purpose for our life.

Nassau, Bahamas, October 20th, 2017 — As you look into the face of your fellow man/woman, do you see the image of Christ? In the newest book from prolific author Clement Butler, he helps the reader learn, through Scripture, the identity of the sons of God, and God’s purpose for our life.

“What is the hope of our calling?” asks author Clement Butler. “The Father has already determined our destiny. He wants us to be just like Him. So how do we achieve that life? It involves a journey of transformation and moving from glory to glory. God’s eternal purpose includes not just the establishment of His Kingdom on Earth, but also the development of sons (daughters) who are inheritors of the Kingdom.”

In this, the fourth book in Butler’s “Teacher Series,” he uses Scripture to help us understand God’s purpose through us. It is a high calling, to be a disciple of Christ, which is an extension of The Father, and in this volume, The Image of Jesus Christ, Butler helps readers understand the transformation that must take place in order to develop/mature as sons of God.

This is a companion text to the first book “God’s Eternal Purpose: The Establishment of God’s Kingdom” which should be read first to truly grasp the full value of Butler’s message. Butler believes that readers must first understand God’s Purpose before we can understand our role in that overall vision. Butler references Romans 8:29 as a primary text for the foundation of his latest book:

Romans 8:29-30
29-30 God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him. After God made that decision of what his children should be like, he followed it up by calling people by name. After he called them by name, he set them on a solid basis with himself. And then, after getting them established, he stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what he had begun. (The Message (MSG))

“Readers can take comfort in God’s assurance that He has a purpose and that He requires our heart to fulfil that purpose,” said Butler. “It is a process that involves chastisement, mortification, life beyond the veil, and entering into His rest. It is, therefore, the purpose of this book to detail the journey to this destination, the journey to the image of Christ.”

Proverbs 3:6 reminds us; “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (NKJV) and in his newest book Butler provides instruction to assist us on our journey as we strive to conform to His image and move from glory to glory.

Butler is also the author of recently released “God’s Eternal Purpose: The Establishment of God’s Kingdom” which is the third in author Clement Butler’s Teacher Series and Volume One in a two-part examination of the creation, foundation and understanding of God’s Kingdom. In this book Butler focuses on what God’s purpose is for humanity and the establishment of His Kingdom. “God’s Eternal Purpose” is available at Amazon.

God’s Eternal Purpose Volume Two: The Identity of the Sons of God: The Image of Jesus Christ is now available at Halo Publishing, Amazon and Barnes and Noble, in hard cover for $29.95 and $9.95 for the e-book.

Teach Children a Love of Nature with “Mother Earth, Brother Sun, Sister Moon,” A New Children’s Story

In O’Dell’s children’s story Mother Earth, Brother Sun, Sister Moon, we are invited to take our children by the hand and share in its wonders.

Galena, OH (USA), October 16th, 2017 — We only have one earth; one planet that sustains us and provides water, shade and an abundance of beauty. In O’Dell’s children’s story Mother Earth, Brother Sun, Sister Moon, we are invited to take our children by the hand and share in its wonders.

“My wife and I have long held a love of nature and I wanted to create a book for my children that expressed that wonder and delight in the environment,” said first time children’s author Kevin M. O’Dell. “Writing this story was a true labor of love and a wonderful opportunity to include my sister as she is the illustrator of the story.”

Illustrator, Megan Philips and the author spent many wonderful vacations hiking, fishing and camping with their father and together they have created a beautiful tribute to their father who first introduced them to the wonders of Mother Earth.

In the story, father and son explore the outdoors, the plants, trees and wildlife that live among the woods. While sharing their adventure, the father has the opportunity to teach his son about the importance of nature and how to care for our environment.

“My hope is to pass along the love of nature my father instilled in our family, to my children and to those that read the book,” said O’Dell. “This book is meant to be enjoyed and shared.”

The author lives in the country and is raising his children to enjoy nature walks, camping, fishing and basically anything that gets them out into nature.

There is a lesson that can be learned by studying the balance of nature. O’Dell helps readers see how animals, plants and the sun cooperate and work together. We can learn a lot about how to live and be with each other by studying the harmony found in nature. Mother Earth, Brother Sun, Sister Moon will help parents inspire their families to do their own exploring.

“Children today spend more time on their smart devices than playing outside,” said Lisa Umina, founder and president of Halo Publishing International. “This delightful story will encourage parents and their children to do their own exploring of nature and hopefully find ways to sustain and care for our environment.”

Mother Earth, Brother Sun, Sister Moon, is now available at Halo Publishing, Amazon and Barnes and Noble, in paperback for $12.95 and $7.99 for the e-book.

Award Winning Author Investigates Hair Loss in Compelling New Book “Hair Loss: Options for Restoration and Reversal”

Author Gustavo J. Gomez leaves not a single hair unturned in his latest epic non-fiction book “HAIR LOSS: Options for Restoration and Reversal.”

Miami, FL (USA), August 04, 2017 — Author Gustavo J. Gomez leaves not a single hair unturned in his latest epic non-fiction book “HAIR LOSS: Options for Restoration and Reversal.” The research involved in the three years it took to pen this comprehensive book is evident simply by perusing the Table of Contents. From the history of hair loss to medical treatments, psychological impacts and the variety of restorative treatments modalities, Gomez’s latest book is the only source needed for those who are struggling with hair loss or anticipate the eventuality due to hereditary traits.

“I began to experience hair loss at a relatively young age and knew that I needed to learn what could be done to reverse this distressful situation,” said Gustavo J. Gomez, Ph.D. award-winning author of “Private Money Lending: Learn How to Consistently Generate a Passive Income Stream.” “Thirty-five years ago, the treatments were limited, painful and not as aesthetically successful as we have today. My goal in writing this book was to create a single resource that would provide as much information as was available for those experiencing hair loss as well as for those medical and cosmetic professionals who encounter clients dealing with hair loss.

The author conducted in-depth research for this book with the intention of compiling the history, research, options and processes in one informational resource for the benefit of readers.

“Those experiencing hair loss need to protect what they have so when there is a solution, they can benefit,” said Gomez. “Research indicates that they are getting closer to a permanent solution. Therefore, it is important people do what they can to ensure the health and well-being of the hair they still have.”

Gomez discovered that most men and some women simply give up and accept their hair loss as their lot in life when, in reality, there is much that can be done to nurture and protect the hair they currently have. Hair loss is currently experienced by more than 80 million people worldwide, which encompass 50 million men and 30 million women, and Gomez’s book “HAIR LOSS: Options for Restoration and Reversal” provides information on the anatomy, physiology and the options currently available to ameliorate and preserve existing hair.

Being personally affected by hair loss, Gomez has undergone a variety of treatments, including hair transplants, scalp reduction, massage and topical solutions that have enabled him to preserve most of his hair thirty-five years after first experiencing hair loss. He encourages readers to take care of their hair like they do the rest of their body and life.

“I believe that everyone’s life objective should be to improve both intellectually and physically in order to achieve a proper physical and psychological balance and therefore, live the most fulfilling and satisfying life possible. An important component of reaching this psychological balance is keeping and preserving one’s hair.”

In his previous book “Private Money Lending: Learn How to Consistently Generate a Passive Income Stream,” Gomez approached the topic with the same singular dedication and laser focus that he brings to the pages of “HAIR LOSS.” He has already won five prestigious national and international awards for “Private Money Lending” and although “Hair Loss” has just hit the stores, high praise is already being showered upon this author for his newest book.

“This book will provide the consumer a wealth of information about what is important to know about the field of hair loss and its many restorative treatment modalities. In essence, the book will explain what works and what does not work. Only after being armed with the excellent information that permeates the pages of this well-organized and researched book will the consumer be sufficiently educated to make a sound and informed decision about selecting the right course of action”. Dr. M. A. Soler-Perez, MD

“Even though hair loss is frequently thought of as a strictly male affliction, the evidence shows that 25% or one in every four women will suffer some degree of hair loss. However, unlike in men where a certain degree of hair loss is often considered inconsequential and more sociably acceptable, for women, the psychological distress caused by hair loss and the feeling of being unattractive can be devastating for the sufferer’s self-image and emotional well-being. This book is an excellent source of information that will succinctly explain and guide the reader in fully understanding the causes of hair loss.I highly recommend this book as a must read.”M. C. Sarratea, MSN, ARNP, FNP-Bc

“HAIR LOSS” is essential reading for those already afflicted or beginning to experience a certain degree of hair loss. Fortunately for the stricken hair-loss research is making significant discoveries that could potentially lead to a permanent cure for androgenetic or common hair loss.

“HAIR LOSS: Options for Restoration and Reversal” is now available at Halo Publishing, Amazon and Barnes and Noble, in Hardcover for $34.95 and in Paperback for $25.95.

About Gustavo J. Gomez, Ph.D.:
Gustavo has been a successful entrepreneur, educator, healthcare consultant, and businessman for the past thirty-five years. His educational background and business experience have made him exceptionally versatile, achieving numerous successes in both the healthcare and business fields. As a multiple-award-winning author possessing this academic versatility allows Gustavo the ability to research and write about healthcare, entrepreneurial and business-related issues.

His interest in the causes of hair-loss related issues surfaced 35 years ago when he began to experience some hair thinning. To prevent the problem from advancing beyond control, he began to educate himself about the causes and conditions that can lead to hair loss. In his search for a possible solution to correct and/or ameliorate his hair-loss condition, he experimented with a myriad of balding prevention recommendations.

This empirical journey of discovery is the reason behind the creation of this useful and informative book about alopecia (hair loss), its causes, treatments and promising future trends. In essence, it is still a journey that continues in an attempt to uncover the options for restoration and reversal of hair loss.

The objective of this new book, entitled “HAIR LOSS: Options for Restoration & Reversal” is to educate the consuming public about the effectiveness of the many available hair-loss treatment modalities the consumer will be subjected to. This is an important and valuable book for both men and women who are afflicted with hair loss problems. The book provides the reader with a historical perspective regarding hair loss, as well as the present and future trends of alopecia research.

Romona Robinson’s “A Dirt Road to Somewhere” is Paved with an Undeniable Faith in God

Have you suffered failure, loss, betrayal, or just feel like you don’t measure up? If you want to know how Emmy Award-winning journalist Romona Robinson weathers these storms and achieves her success, “A Dirt Road to Somewhere” provides the answers.

Cleveland, OH (USA), August 01, 2017 — Have you suffered failure, loss, betrayal, or just feel like you don’t measure up? If you want to know how Emmy Award-winning journalist Romona Robinson weathers these storms and achieves her success, “A Dirt Road to Somewhere” provides the answers. It is an inspirational memoir that fills readers with a sense of purpose and confidence and will leave them saying, “If she can do it, so can I.” The author begins by putting us right in the middle of a KKK protest rally in Charleston, South Carolina. You can feel fear and uncertainty emanating from the pages. From that point onward, you will be moved by the author’s determination to do her job no matter the cost, and you will be in awe of her faith and trust in God, the foundations that keep her moving forward.

Throughout her journey, Robinson learns that she needs to embrace the struggles in her life. It is through these innumerable difficult moments that God gives her the strength to overcome and achieve His plan for her. For example, when a popular NBA player nearly violates her in a Milwaukee hotel room as she is held against her will, three simple words given to her by God will save her. When she is forced out of a television job because of her race, her decision to walk in faith will later launch her award-winning career.

“So many times I am approached by women who are stuck in their career or struggling with their place in life, and they ask me how I managed to overcome obstacles to achieve the life I have,” says Romona Robinson. “I tell them you can’t be complacent with your current circumstance and expect there to be a change without taking some risks in your life. God will send storms to force you into your purpose. I’ve faced unimaginable pain, prejudice, and love in my personal and professional life, and although there were dark times when I wasn’t sure if I was going to see the light, it was my faith in God that kept me going.”

At the heart of this book is Robinson’s message that not every closed door we encounter is a bad thing. God knows that as long as we’re comfortable, we won’t move; we’ll stay stuck. It may not feel good when God tests our faith, but we have to have faith that He is working on our behalf to come through the storm. Robinson’s wish in writing “A Dirt Road to Somewhere” is that readers will be moved and motivated to walk in faith, not fear. She hopes her own story will not only oblige readers to examine their own purpose but that it will also leave them filled with an increased faith in God. As Romona’s favorite scriptural passage says, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1, NIV).

“I love this book,” says Lisa Umina, founder and publisher of Halo Publishing International. “I don’t just say that because I am a huge fan of Romona’s but because her story is so compelling. Her writing style grabs you from the opening sentences and takes you on a journey that you can’t resist. You find yourself rooting for her and confident in the knowledge that she will survive. As a Christian woman, I am also drawn to Romona’s faith and what an important role it plays in her life. I highly recommend ‘A Dirt Road to Somewhere.’”

“A Dirt Road to Somewhere” comes out this fall, but this compelling memoir is already garnering high praise:

“Even if you didn’t grow up on a dirt road, you can relate to the broken road of life. With humor, honesty, and eloquence, Romona Robinson shares how she navigated that road with her mother’s love as her compass. This book is a must-read for anyone who struggles with roadblocks of race, place, poverty, fear, or doubt—which is to say all of us. The way out was hard, but Romona shows us the way to reach your dreams, surpass them, then inspire others to reach theirs.” Regina Brett, New York Times best-selling author of “God Never Blinks”

“Romona Robinson’s story is beautiful in its presentation and compelling in its content. It is an urgent lesson in a global classroom. It teaches each of us that racism in our common culture in every aspect of our national life is almost incurable, and pessimism and despair are equally destructive. Romona’s story (which in my opinion has several chapters yet to be written) teaches us that preparation, excellence, integrity, faith, hope, and love have no substitutes. God is love and love is of God. Thanks, Romona, for offering this expression in your life and profession.” Rev. Otis Moss Jr., Pastor Emeritus, Olivet Institutional Baptist Church

“A Dirt Road to Somewhere” will soon be available through Halo Publishing International, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble. Look for the latest information about Ms. Robinson by following her on Facebook at Romona’s Room or visiting her website at www.romonarobinson.com.

Christian Novel “The Yoke” Explores Deception, Faith, and Love

Barnabas Mitchell wasn’t always a Christian. In fact, he had a lot of doubts about his faith. As an attorney, faith in the facts and how to present them for the benefit of his clients took precedence in his life.

Carbondale, IL (USA), December 18th, 2016 — Barnabas Mitchell wasn’t always a Christian. In fact, he had a lot of doubts about his faith. As an attorney, faith in the facts and how to present them for the benefit of his clients took precedence in his life. However, all of that came into question when he met Stephanie Schultz.

“Writing this story has been a many year endeavor,” said author Darrell Dunham. “In fact, the original version that I wrote five years ago bears little resemblance to the finished product. As I spent time with the characters and chronicled Barnabas’ journey to turn his life over to God, the story took on a life of its own. Originally the book was based on some of my own experiences questioning my faith and making the decision to put my life in God’s hands. I wanted to create a story that others who are questioning their faith could relate to. In fact, many of the arguments for resisting God that Barnabas shares were direct quotes from my own discussions with others of faith.”

In “The Yoke” readers will be captivated by the story of Barnabas and his nemesis Bill Cushman, who appears to have everything going for him, but who is truly an evil entity with an agenda that will challenge and frustrate our main character. However, at the core, “The Yoke” is the love story of Barnabas and Stephanie and Barnabas and God.

The word “yoke” was originally associated with oxen or work animals and represented a connection between the animal and the farmer. In this book by Dunham, the yoke refers to a number of the relationships Barnabas has in his life; with Bill Cushman, with Stephanie and ultimately with God.

“I reference my favorite scripture as part of the epilogue,” said Dunham.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

“This is one unexpected ride,” said Lisa Umina, founder and publisher of Halo Publishing International. “If you were expecting a milquetoast story because of the fact that it is a Christmas novel, you are in for a surprise. Highly entertaining and so well written, I encourage those who are people of faith or who are questioning their faith and looking for a good story to pick up “The Yoke”.”

“The Yoke” is now available at Halo Publishing, Amazon. It is available in paperback for $15.95.

“Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees” Encourages Readers to be Curious and Courageous

“Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees” encourages children to be curious about the different ways money can be made and grown.

Ft. Lauderdale, FL (USA), December 13th, 2016 — Before we can save money, we must first make money. “Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees” encourages children to be curious about the different ways money can be made and grown. The main character, Anthony, is interested in understanding where money is made and with the help of his teacher, uncovers a variety of ways money is made and used.

“How often have we said the phrase ‘money doesn’t grow on trees’ never fully appreciating how that might be viewed by impressionable, imaginative children?” asks author Tony Bland. “I wanted to create a book that would help young readers become curious about the opportunities for future income and be inspired to learn more.”

“Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees” is a book about the adventures of a little boy and his desire to learn about the world of finance. It is a story of family values, teacher involvement, and the impact of words on the mind of an impressionable child.

The colorful illustrations, provided by Chad Thompson, help bring to life the ways in which money is garnered and used in our everyday life. Anthony, the main character in the story, understands that money doesn’t grow on trees but is curious as to how money does grow. Together, he and his teacher consider all of the ways in which money is accumulated and used in our life.

“To take care of yourself financially, you have to monetize your intelligence and ideas,” said Bland. “This book is the first in a series that will explore the different ways people can make money. If they are curious, work hard and take advantage of the opportunities that are available, the possibilities for making money are endless.”

“This delightful tale will inspire parents to have important conversations about money with their children,” said Lisa Umina, founder and president of Halo Publishing. “It is a wonderful gift for parents and grandparents hoping to instill a respect for money in their children.”

“Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees” is now available at Barnes and Noble and Amazon, in hard cover for $18.95.

“Acorn Gert and BrotherBert” is a Delightful Tale of Uncovering Our Potential in Life

Meet Acorn Gert, a delightful, energetic acorn who loves her brother Bert and their life under a great oak tree. Gert and Bert are happy frolicking in the leaves until their friend, the wise owl, lets them in on a secret.

Cleveland, OH (USA), December 1st, 2016 — Meet Acorn Gert, a delightful, energetic acorn who loves her brother Bert and their life under a great oak tree. Gert and Bert are happy frolicking in the leaves until their friend, the wise owl, lets them in on a secret. They have more potential and will offer more in life than just two sweet little acorns playing in the dirt. “Acorn Gert and Brother Bert” remind us that, just like acorns, we all have seeds of potential, our God-given gifts that are meant to grow into something amazing.

“As the mother of eight wonderful children, each one uniquely their own, I wanted to create a children’s story that would celebrate the individual potential of each child and encourage readers to cherish and nurture their own unique value,” said author Elizabeth Duncan Stretar. “I am hoping parents will be able to use the message of Acorn Gert as a starting point for conversations about potential with their children.”

“Acorn Gert and Brother Bert” is told in rhyme, with a joyful rhythm that children will enjoy and ask to have read repeatedly. The colorful characters, drawn by illustrator Rosemarie Gillen help bring the story to life. At the end of the story Stretar has included additional information to help parents and educators use the story with intention to help discover the untapped talents of children.

“It is important that we talk about the seeds that have been planted in our children from a young age,” said Stretar. “My hope is that the characters will make the story memorable and the importance of discovering each child’s inner purpose becomes a regular conversation with parents and educators.”

Stretar aims help parents nurture their children’s potential and help them grow to become all they were meant to be. To that end, “Acorn Gert and Brother Bert” is meant to be tool to stimulate fun, meaningful conversation between adults and children. It is the first in a series of delightful children’s stories featuring the main acorn characters. In the next edition Acorn Gert – Gets a Brand New Skirt, which will highlight the simple pleasures of playing dress-up and igniting imaginative paly in the lives of children.

“I have so enjoyed working with Elizabeth on this project,” said Lisa Umina, founder and president of Halo Publishing International. “Acorn Gert and Brother Bert is such an important book for parents to read to their children.
