A webpage at store.theebooksale.com was launched simultaneously with the book’s publication.

About the Book (Excerpts & Info):
At his car, he shuffled her into the passenger side, hustled around, and got behind the wheel. He jammed the barrel of the Browning into her ear.
She cried out.
“Don’t make me use this,” he said, laying the pistol in his lap.
Her ear was throbbing and ringing at the same time but she still heard the thump as he auto-locked the doors. He started the car, put it in gear, and eased away from the curb. He flipped on the wipers and they sluiced away the mist. As they drove, the wipers lulled and almost hypnotized her.
Thump-thump. Thump-thump.
They drove for about twenty minutes and once they were off the main highway, she leaned forward and squinted through the windshield at a caution sign:
DETOUR – YOUR RIDOT HIGHWAY DOLLARS AT WORK
Orange barrels with their flickering caution lights did little to affect the black hole darkness. Rows of red and white striped sawhorses funneled them along until they veered off onto a two-lane blacktop.
Hess looked over, ran a lizard tongue over his lips, saying, “You are so beautiful. You look just like Mother.”
Nikki closed her eyes, didn’t respond.
“You ignoring me? Didn’t you hear me tell you that you’re beautiful?”
Her eyes flew open and she looked down at gnarled, ugly fingers moving in slow motion, fondling the inside of her thigh. Filthy nails, bitten to the quick, tipped his fingers. His hand felt like a diseased vermin paw, even through her jeans. Recoiling, she closed her eyes again.
He put his hand back on the wheel and pulled off the blacktop, onto the shoulder. He left the ignition on. The wipers continued: Thump-thump.
(Chapter 51)

‘Mystic Fear’ is the second of a gripping mystery/suspense series by author, Jan Evan Whitford – author of ‘Mystic Island’ (book 1 in the series). Reading this novel is like going on a non-stop roller coaster ride through a series of romance, mystery, psychosis, and murderous chain of events, all of which leads to Marion’s obsession to make Nikki “Become”.

It is also amazing how the author is able to juggle an enormous array of engaging characters and copious number of subplots, and tie them all together neatly and beautifully to give it such an agreeable ending.

Expertly constructed at 336 pages, “Mystic Fear” is being aggressively promoted to appropriate markets with a focus on the Mystery and Suspense categories. With Global wholesale distribution through Ingram, Barnes & Noble, Baker & Taylor, Books a Million and Borders, and pervasive online availability through RealTime Publishing’s online store TheEbookSale.com, Amazon and elsewhere, “Mystic Fear” meets consumer demand through both retail and library markets with a suggested retail price of $14.99 and $4.99, respectively.

Additionally, “Mystic Fear” can be ordered by retailers or wholesalers from the RealTime wholesale department by emailing buybooks@realtimepublishings.com. To qualify for the maximum trade discount price set by the author, order in quantities of ten or more.

Internatonal Lawyer Inspired by Writing and Reading Stage Plays

Approaching 90, Author Compiles Full Length Stage Plays in “Trilogy of Murders”.

St. Petersburg, FL (USA), Friday – March 23, 2012 — When not providing professional opinions on foreign trade and investment to domestic and off-shore client corporations or major law firms, FRANK WARREN SWACKER, derives one of his greatest pleasures from the reading and writing full length stage plays. Born in Manhattan on May 18, 1922, he seldom missed seeing, Broadway’s best productions, excluding his brief service in World War II as a US Navy Lt. (j.g.) in the South Pacific.

Learning that Lynne Rock, Editor, at publisher, Free Marketing, Inc. a subsidiary of Rock Publishing, is scheduling release of an E-book, TRIOLOGY OF MURDERS that shall contain three of his full length two act murder mystery stage plays by his birthday, he commented: “Including three stage plays in a single publication should accommodate the ‘Go Generation’ desire to be able to quickly determine which plays satisfy their creative appetite. I have often found writing and reading stage plays inspirational.”

Arbitrating Murder, the first play, in Trilogy of Murders, depicts apprehension of a co-ed daughter that her father may be found to have killed her mother. The hilarious hearing, discloses her mother, a Washington public relations executive, had been involved in dangerous intrigues. The play, except for the ending, follows his book, Who Murdered Mom? (2nd Edition).

The second play, Who Murdered the Chairman? is based upon his book, Boardroom Conspiracies. It is laced with comic, satire, spoofing Wall Street, and corporate executive misbehavior, some of which created the present economic fallout. Both E-books have been re-edited by Darla J. Blaha, prize winning author of, La Grange Chicken Ranch Revisited that became the basis of the stage play and movie: THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS. The E-books include the plays in their respective Appendix.

The third play, Spreading Murder & Happiness, is a brain storming search for a serial killer, harboring hate for those who had attained success in their respective professions. It is based upon the collaborative work in progress of Blaha and Swacker, to be entitled: Murder & Happiness. All three fictional dramas call for eight or less cast members and simple settings.

Swacker ( http://www.members.authorsguild.net/fswacker ), is listed in Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who in America. He holds a B.A. (Economics) from Union College, a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia and a LL.M. (International Law) from New York University, Graduate School of Law.

Banfield and lyrics written by the ensemble members: Ysaye M. Barnwell, Carol Maillard, Nitanju Bolade Casel, Aisha Kahlil, and Louise Robinson, with the National Symphony Orchestra at the prestigious Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, on April 13-14, 2012. The premiere performances will be conducted by Thomas Wilkins with the Morgan State University Choir, directed by Eric Conway. Both shows are slated to begin at 8 PM.

“Symphony 10: Affirmations for a New World,” was co-commissioned by the National Symphony Orchestra (Christoph Eschenbach, Music Director), and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, DC; the Minnesota Orchestra, (Osmo Vänskä, Music Director); and the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, Millennium Park, Chicago. The Minnesota Orchestra will present the work at the Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis on April 21, 2012. The Harris Theater for Music and Dance will present the work with the Sphinx Orchestra in Chicago, on October 3, 2012. It will be conducted by Bill Banfield with The Children’s Choir of Chicago, directed by Josephine Lee.

SWEET HONEY IN THE ROCK and Banfield began collaborating on “Symphony 10: Affirmations for a New World,” five years ago. The final thirty minute work comprises five movements including: “A Higher Note” by Aisha Kahlil, ”Dreams,” by Carol Maillard, “The Day the World Awoke,” by Nitanju Bolade Casel, “Discourse of Change,” by Ysaye M. Barnwell and “Yes,” by Louise Robinson.

“Symphony 10: Affirmations for a New World,” is a labor of love and one of the most challenging and adventurous projects we’ve undertaken as a group,” stated Ysaye Barnwell. “It has been a dream to one day blend our unique sound, artistry, and lyrics with a symphony orchestra, and we’re very fortunate to have fulfilled it by partnering with such a gifted and talented composer as Bill Banfield,” she added. “We thank the National Symphony Orchestra, The Minnesota Orchestra, and the Harris Theater for Music and Dance for co-commissioning, “Symphony 10: Affirmations for a New World,” and we are delighted to be performing it with each of them.”

Banfield cited some of the musical inspiration and concept for the score by offering, “Symphony 10: Affirmations for a New World,” affirms every human power we have: love, imagination, fear and courage, will to change, dreaming, to ask the question and to touch someone else’s soul. It is stepping out as the text asks for ‘a higher note,’ to redefine the traditions in our art that need new fueling.”

While “Symphony 10: Affirmations for a New World,” represents SWEET HONEY IN THE ROCK’S first foray as an ensemble writing lyrics for an orchestral score, they have previously collaborated as composers and performers with dance companies (Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Washington Ballet, Dayton Contemporary Dance and Step Africa), instrumentalists (Wynton Marsalis), as well as noted poets (Sonia Sanchez, Alice Walker, and Maya Angelou).

First Images Of WWII German Submarine Sunk 68 Years Ago In Brazil

The U-Boat was located by the Schurmann Family in July 2011. Almost one year after locating the submarine, the Schurmanns joined efforts with deep sea diving experts to collect images of the U-513. With specialized technology, using a remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) the expedition made a 135 meters dive to film and take pictures of the wreck, for the first time in history.

“After years of research, finally we watched this historical moment. We first saw a shadow then gradually the images became very clear, the submarine is almost intact and whole as if she was placed there to sleep” said Vilfredo Schurmann leader of the expedition.

“The ROV (Remotely operated underwater vehicle) did several dives and with every new image we celebrated this great feat” says David Schurmann, the film director.

It all began in 2001 aboard their sailing yacht “Aysso”, when the Schurmanns a well-known sailing and expedition family in Brazil, was told of the story of a German submarine, sunk in 1943 during WWII in the waters of Southern Brazil.

Vilfredo and Heloisa Schurmann where hooked on the mysterious story and started researching the facts in the National Archives in Washington – USA, Berlin – Germany and in Rio de Janeiro – Brazil.

They were granted a license from the Brazilian Navy, and obtained the support of the Santa Catarina Government and UNIVALI University and were sponsored by TOTVS, CPE (Coastal Planning & Engineering) and FUGRO BRAZIL to further the search.

A team of 35 professionals (all volunteers) which included divers, oceanographers, retired officers from the Brazilian and USA Navy & Air Force, archaeologists, historians, filmmakers and the last surviving member of the USA airplane responsible for the U-boat sinking aided on the search.

After 2 years and 18 expeditions at sea, operating Side Scanning Sonars and Magnetometer, on July 17th 2011 on board their adapted sailing yacht “Aysso”, the Schurmanns located the exact position of the sunken submarine.

On March 8, 2012, aboard two ships, the expedition led by Vilfredo Schurmann and a crew of 20, filmed for the first time in history since her sinking 68 years ago, images of U-513. The U-boat is considered one of the WWII submarines sunk furthers away from Germany during battle.

THE UNDERWATER FILMING
The underwater footage of the U-513 was made with a ROV model Sea Eye Falcon Marine, capable of operating up to 300 meters deep, assigned and operated by FUGRO BRAZIL.

S/V “Aysso” and M/V “Thunder” anchored at the location, launched the ROV (Remotely operated underwater vehicle) and with sonar-aided navigation (similar to a ship’s radar – working under water) located the submarine.

The recordings were performed with the ROV camera itself. For best results, HD 3D cameras were also mounted in housings to captured images of the submarine.

Sponsors: TOTVS, CPE, FUGRO BRAZIL
Support: Santa Catarina Government and UNIVALI University

HISTORY
The U-513, under the command of the German captain Karl Friedrich Guggenberger, had the mission to sink any enemy vessel on the route between Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro. She had already torpedoed three ships, including two Americans and a Brazilian.

The U-Boat-513 sank on July 19th, 1943. Lieutenant Roy S. Whitcomb was on a PBM-VP-74 flying-boat bomber on an antisubmarine sweep and spotted the surfaced U-boat. He ordered the attack. Captain Guggenberger on the deck of the submarine saw the approaching plane, he knew there was no time to submerge and began a counterattack. Whitcomb’s dropped six 225-pound bombs depth charges and the U-boat absorbed the full impact on her hull.

The U-513, 76 meters in length sunk immediately with its 46 crew. 7 men who were on deck where the only survivors, among them the captain Guggenberger.

THE SCHURMANN FAMILY
The Schurmann Family is the first Brazilian family to circumnavigate the world on a sailboat and the only Brazilian family to have done it twice. A household name in Brazil, the Schurmann Family has been active around the world through their online school program, as well as their films and TV programs.

In 1984 Vilfredo, Heloisa and their children left their home, their work and school and set off from Florianópolis, the capital city of the State of Santa Catarina, in southern Brazil, to pursue their dream: circumnavigate the world on a sailing yacht.

Their children, Pierre, David and Wilhelm, were 15, 10 and 7 years old. On this first adventure, the Schurmann Family spent 10 years at sea.

In 1997 the Schurmann Family began their second great adventure Magellan Global Adventure. The goal was to retrace the route sailed by Ferdinand Magellan’s fleet, the first complete circumnavigation of the planet. For this adventure, apart from the parents only their son David Schurmann and Kat, their 5-year-old daughter went along. Magellan Global Adventure was followed by more than 1,5 million people, from 44 countries. Every month the adventure’s filmed reports, broadcast internationally, had an average of 40 million television viewers in Brazil and many more around the world. After 30 months, the Schurmann’s yacht returned to Brazil.

The Family members are: Vilfredo, Heloisa, Pierre, David, Wilhelm and Kat Schurmann (d. 2006).

Soda Poker, A Whole New Way Of Enjoying Online Poker!

A new multilingual poker room has just been launched by one on the main online poker publishers with the intention of becoming an alternative to the current online poker monopoly.

POKER hit the web in the mid 00’s and has since never ceased to grow in popularity. But governments around the world have decided that now is the time to impose regulations on online gambling and as a result you may have noticed that playing poker with real money is getting tougher and tougher (especially if you are living in the US!).

In the mean time, playing poker with virtual chips on social networks has never been as trendy, fun and easy! Don’t deny it; even your mom and your little sister are on it… These so called social poker games owe their popularity to the fact that while being built around a game you usually find in a casino; because you can’t cash out your winnings, for legislators, it’s not gambling so you (and the companies running them) are alright with them.

Now the companies running these models are seriously considering adding cash out options once the game will be regulated, and the companies running real money poker rooms are looking at social poker games as a way of not only offering a different version of the game, but also penetrating virgin territories such as social networks or mobile devices.

It’s going to be a war of the worlds when these gaming giants collide, but undoubtedly poker players will come out as winners, as the competition will generate new products and new offers for the end users…

In the mist of it all, Cmedia, a company based on the Spanish coast of Barcelona has launched Soda Poker, a social poker room that aims to offer a serious alternative to other poker rooms.

The name Cmedia may not ring a bell, but if you have ever been on a website related to poker or any other form of online gambling, chances are you were on one of theirs: with over 1000 websites online, they are amongst the biggest online gambling publishers in the world… so you can trust they know what they are doing when it comes to online poker. They are the people behind Freepoker.org and Pokerholdem.com.

Soda Poker is easy because unlike any other Texas Holdem poker site you can register and play for free in just a few clicks. It’s quick, easy and simple. It gets you seated at the poker table in just a few seconds without asking you for your bank account details, or your grand mother’s maiden name. And it’s freemium, meaning that every day; you can come back and play without having to deposit real money. But if you want to play the higher stakes you can always buy into the premium model and get more chips allowing you to play at a higher level. Because players don’t actually bet with real money, Soda Poker is a totally risk free game, you can just play for the fun of the game! It’s really the closest you’ll get to playing a home game with your friends, and that’s why it’s one of the fastest growing social poker communities and one of the hottest places to be dealt cards on the web right now!

JA Carlton’s Adventure Wednesday’s Child Suggests Dark Political Schemes

Set only a handful of years into the future, speculative fiction piece “Wednesday’s Child”; by novelist JA Carlton, paints an apocalyptic picture of America’s future born from today’s economic and sociopolitical antics.

Austin, TX, March 19, 2012 – “Wednesday’s Child” the first book in JA Carlton’s “Freedom Fighter” series, attempts a prophetic look at the results of the current American sociopolitical climate and one possible effect on our near future.

The series explores the manifest consequences of social narcissism and political vagaries on the unsuspecting population of today’s intentionally misinformed Americans.

Book one, “Wednesday’s Child” introduces the reader to a band of heroes led by a genetically engineered soldier named Jade McKay who comes under investigation for the murder of her Commanding Officer. The investigation is a ploy by a shadowy government agency with its own sinister agenda, to demand her extradition back into their hands.

In a twist of fate, while on a mission Jade learns the true motivations behind her Commander’s murder as well as the motivations behind the enemy’s efforts to retrieve her and use her as a “new Eve” for their eugenics program.

In a last ditch effort to protect herself from extradition, Jade must expose just enough of the government’s plans to the remaining population to motivate her fellow Americans to action without forcing those behind the scenes to destroy what’s left of the country’s people.

Drawing on classic ‘science fiction’ elements like time-travel, to real-life genetic technology; Carlton paints a terrifying picture of corporate driven social and political ambition gone awry. At the same time, she manages to consistently shine an honest light on the best qualities of the people the survivors of this corporate created holocaust sought to destroy.

“The indomitable nature of the human spirit and our ability to overcome adversity is what inspires my stories. Hopefully it always will.” Says Carlton.

JA Carlton is the foundation author at Uneak Press, Inc. an Austin, Tx. based publishing company that seeks out local artisans like their newest addition to the family William Holloway. Holloway’s first novel “The Immortal Body” will be hitting shelves this summer and is already available electronically for both Kindle and Nook.
