Virtosoftware has released Virto Ajax Calendar 3.6 – a new version of one if its most popular web part for Microsoft SharePoint with additional tools for effective calendar planning and management. Virto Ajax Calendar is designed to provide SharePoint users with extended features and capabilities that are not available in the standard SharePoint calendar, substantially expanding its functionality and effectiveness. Among the most important features of the product of Virtosoftware that are not available as a standard SharePoint features are: combining events from several different data sources (SharePoint lists, SQL Tables, Microsoft Exchange, XML) in single calendar, adjustment optional tooltips, audience targeting support, customizable views and many others.
Integration with Microsoft Exchange is an important feature of Virto Ajax Calendar. In version 3.0, released half a year ago, Virtosoftware allowed using Microsoft Exchange as a source of calendar events for the first time. Since that time SharePoint users can view, edit and manage events from any number of Microsoft Exchange calendars in a single SharePoint calendar with full synchronization of SharePoint and Exchange calendars.
Virto Ajax Calendar 3.6 ( http://www.virtosoftware.com/virto-ajax-sharepoint-calendar-microsoft-exchange-edition.aspx ) is the next step towards deepening the integration between SharePoint and Exchange. With the new version SharePoint users can accept and decline Microsoft Exchange appointments in their SharePoint calendar. Accept and decline options are now available in an appointment tooltip displayed in the SharePoint calendar. If a user assigned to an appointment she can either respond to an invitation e-mail in Microsoft Exchange or just click “Accept” or “Decline” in her SharePoint calendar.
In version 3.6 Virtosoftware also makes a present to some of its Scandinavian clients adding the Swedish localization. Swedish has become the seventh language of Virto Ajax Calendar. In addition to Swedish and English Virto Ajax Calendar is also available in German, French, Russian, Spanish and Chinese. The company continues to work on other localizations of Virto Ajax Calendar and plans to release several more in the nearest future.
