SmartTOP Convertible Top Module by Mods4cars for Mini Convertible and BMW 1 Series Convertible Gets Design Refresh

Effective immediately the aftermarket SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller kits made by Mods4cars for the Mini Convertible and the BMW 1 Series Convertible ship with the new slim line enclosure. The new, custom designed plastic enclosure was made specifically for Mods4cars and for the SmartTOP hardware. The SmartTOP module gives owners added convenience when using the convertible top along with bonus features.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), July 24th, 2014 — Mods4cars now ships the SmartTOP add-on kits for the Mini Convertible and the BMW 1 Series Convertible with the new Mods4cars module enclosure. This custom designed enclosure impresses with its slim, form fitting design and two LEDs for quick and simple installation. Thanks to the smaller size the module can easily be installed in even tighter locations in the car.

“We are happy to announce the switch to the new product enclosure on the SmartTOP modules designed for Mini and BMW 1 Series.” says PR-Manager Sven Tornow. “The sophistication of our products is now also apparent from the outside.” The smart add-on modules with their useful features make day-to-day use of the convertible top more convenient and more fun.

With a SmartTOP module installed, owners can open or close the convertible top at slow speeds of up to 40 km/h (~28 mph). A quick tap is enough to start full automatic operation. It is not necessary any longer to hold down the switch for the entire time. The driver’s hands are back on the wheel quickly.

“Especially Mini owners will appreciate the one-touch feature greatly, since they can now choose the desired outcome when pressing the button.” Sven Tornow continues. A single touch opens the sunroof. A double tap opens the sunroof and the convertible top. A triple tap opens the sunroof, convertible top and windows. “Owners can quickly select what they want and the whole operation is carried out fully automatically: Either just the sunroof or the whole convertible top, and whether the windows should be up or down after the top operation finishes.” Sven Tornow concludes.

Full automatic one-touch operation is also possible from a distance by using the original key fob remote. Not having to hold down any buttons means convenience and saving time. The SmartTOP customer may even get in the car and start driving while the top still operates. No changes are necessary to the key fobs or the receiver system.

SmartTOP modules all come with additional bonus features. A few examples are one-touch operation for the windows from the console switch, automatic mirror folding and unfolding on the BMW 1 Series and options to unlock the doors when turning the ignition off. An extended mode can be activated that allows a top operation to continue even when the engine is being started or stopped. The entire module can also be disabled temporarily while retaining all user configurable settings.

Another standard feature on all SmartTOP products is the integrated USB port for quick and simple configuration and firmware updates. Updates are free of charge and support software is available for Windows and Mac. The SmartTOP kit comes with a custom designed plug-and-play wiring adapter that allows simple installation by connecting the module to the vehicle electronics.

The add-on module for Mini Convertible and BMW 1 Series starts at 209 Euros + tax. The following brands are supported by SmartTOP: Alfa, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Infiniti, Lamborghini, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Volkswagen and Volvo.

About Mods4cars:
Mods4cars was founded in 2002 with the idea to add a highly demanded feature to the otherwise almost perfect Porsche Boxster: Comfort One-Touch roof operation while driving at slow speeds. The resulting product offered not only that, but also allowed quick and easy installation by just swapping out a relay box, thus leaving no traces and no permanent changes on the vehicle. The first SmartTOP roof controller was born.

The success of their first products in Germany and Europe prompted them in late 2004 to move operations to the USA, to be able to serve the American market as well as all other English speaking countries such as Australia, UK and South Africa from one central location. Their business has grown to a full-fledged international corporation with an office in Las Vegas and a full line of innovative products as well as distributors and installation partners all over the globe.

Being highly specialized in the development and distribution of aftermarket roof- and comfort controllers since 2002 allows them to offer an unsurpassed level of competence and product quality. Their main goal is optimization of each individual product to a maximum in compatibility, usability and intuitive operation. They put greatest effort into development and quality checks of all their products to achieve this goal and meet all expectations of their customers.

The extraordinary success of their products is also based on the great communication with their customers, which usually already starts for each new product during the development and prototyping phase.

Lifetime of Poems Detail Author’s True Feelings

Published by Halo Publishing International, The Light in Your Eyes represents what Cassman always remembered about her husband, Steve.

Houston, TX (USA), July 19, 2014 — The feelings Lisa Cassman couldn’t voice aloud, she expressed in poems. Her words document a lifetime of love, friendship, disappointment, hurt and success. She shares her journey with readers in her newest book, The Light in Your Eyes.

Published by Halo Publishing International, The Light in Your Eyes represents what Cassman always remembered about her husband, Steve. “We met for the first time as guileless teenagers at a Christian summer camp,” Cassman said. “I never forgot the light in his eyes.”

“I felt like I was in love. And what I couldn’t tell him in person, I wrote as a poem.”

Cassman said a lifetime later, they reconnected. They both had been married to other people, had children, and struggled through difficult broken marriages. The Light in Your Eyes has deep meaning for the author, because it is a walk through her life. “And I want people to realize that dreams can come true.”

Cassman said years ago, she took out a simple piece of paper and wrote down three goals she wanted to achieve – to be in a successful marriage, to travel and to write a book. She wrote her first book, The Road Less Traveled, A Guide to a Positive Marriage, while traveling with Steve, a semi-truck driver for Schneider National. Cassman said the book, also published by Halo Publishing International, has become a popular wedding gift.

Cassman said she hopes The Light in Your Eyes will inspire readers to remain hopeful about their dreams and goals, including what they want in relationships.

Halo Publisher Lisa Umina said The Light in Your Eyes represents Cassman’s life journey, but her words represent feelings many people have experienced. “She talks about dreaming, friendship, falling in love, feeling hurt, etc., all parts of life most people can relate to,” Umina said.

About the Exhibition:
The most remarkable aspect of Huihan’s art is his ability to infuse his painted characters with life and a sense of living history. For this, he is known as one of the pre-eminent narrative painters of this generation. His paintings tell a story well beyond the moment in time that is captured in the image. The people he paints are real. He is dedicated to recording the people of disappearing cultures in their native costumes and at their historical work in the high reaches of the Himalayas. Most of the images for his exhibition at Mountainsong Galleries were painted during recent trips to Tibet. The innate pride, beauty and serenity of the Tibetan people is brilliantly represented in these pieces full of delicate color and light. Liu and Liang are both artists of immense talent. Weizhen combines traditional Chinese art with impressionism to create pieces with soft colors and peacefulness. Weizhen is a Master Artist with the American Impressionist Society. In Huihan Liu’s words, “My passion is to capture the Tibetan culture before it fades … on their journey; their spirit was what inspired me to complete this work.”

Frank Quiñones Joins Prepay Nation Team

Money transfer veteran takes on role as National Sales Manager.

Berwyn, PA (USA), July 18, 2014 — Prepay Nation, a leading provider of cross-border microvalue and prepaid mobile airtime transfers, is pleased to welcome seasoned sales leader Frank Quiñones to their team. Quiñones will be serving as National Sales Manager, focusing his efforts on growing Prepay Nation’s distribution base within the Financial Services Centers market, with an emphasis on the Spanish-speaking sector.

Recently responsible for prepaid product launches at money transfer firm Sigue, Quiñones has a wealth of both sales experience and familiarity with the value remittance market. He has worked with industry leaders such as Western Union, MoneyGram, Praxell and Softgate, garnering a reputation for excellent salesmanship and strong customer relationships. The generator, which is one of the most expensive components in a wind turbine, is a donation from Alstom, the world’s leading energy solutions and transport company. Matt Pevarnik, an account executive for Alstom who serves on Ecotech Institute’s advisory board, spearheaded the donation.

Students in Ecotech’s Wind Energy and Power Utility degree programs will use the generator, along with the gearbox, for mechanical training and to practice inspections and tests that are part of a wind turbine’s preventative maintenance program. Students will also have the chance to work on more complicated repairs in the course of their on-the-job training.

“Alstom is proud to see that our 1.7MW generator will help benefit the Ecotech Institute’s wind energy technology program,” said Albert Fisas-Camanes, R&D Director for Alstom Wind North America. “We appreciate the value of hands-on education and believe this generator will serve as a valuable learning tool to students studying for a career in the wind energy field.”

A ribbon cutting ceremony for the generator will take place at Ecotech Institute on Thursday, July 24 at 1 p.m. Ecotech Institute is located at 1400 S Abilene St, Aurora, Colo.

Ecotech Institute currently offers eight associate’s degree programs:
