Entrepreneur Launches Rocket hub campaign to raise $58,000 CAD to fund Career Matchmaker, a career and job search app for iOS, Android, Windows and Blackberry

Entrepreneur Launches Rocket hub campaign to raise $58,000 CAD to fund Career Matchmaker, a career and job search app for iOS, Android, Windows and Blackberry.

Calgary, AB, Canada, September 8, 2015 — /REAL TIME PRESS RELEASE/ — With a passion for technology and apps, Canadian entrepreneur Shane Vogelgesang recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $58,000 CAD to fund his job search app concept, Career Matchmaker. When fully funded, the Career Matchmaker app will help job seekers identify careers that best match their interests and will help users search and apply for suitable jobs online.

“I hope job seekers will visit my Kickstarter page to learn more about my app and to offer their support. With their help, I will make Career Matchmaker a reality!” SHANE VOGELGESANG, FOUNDER

Here’s how it will work: After downloading the app to an iOS, Android, Windows or Blackberry device, Career Matchmaker will present the job seeker with a quiz that will ask about specific interests such as working with children, preferences of working indoors or outdoors, desire to drive a vehicle for work, etc. The user will click “Like” or “Dislike” for each question, and upon completion of the quiz, the app will suggest careers that match the user’s interests.

With a focus on a positive user experience, the Career Matchmaker app will also help job seekers in their employment searches. App users can search for jobs manually, or they can use the drop-down menu to view jobs in by industry category such as Transportation & Logistics, Oil & Gas, Airlines, Engineering, Aerospace & Defense, etc. In addition, the app would offer links to videos for areas of particular interest.

“I’m really excited about the possibilities Career Matchmaker has, but I need support from those who are equally passionate about the project,” says Vogelgesang. “I hope job seekers will visit my Kickstarter page to learn more about my app and to offer their support. With their help, I will make Career Matchmaker a reality!”

Supporters of the project can make pledges of any amount. Backers who pledge at least $10 will receive official notification when the app is available. Backers who pledge $30 or more will get the opportunity to test the app via TestFlight and will receive notifications when the app is available in multiple platforms. The anticipated launch date for the project is August 2015.

Pipemetrics taps into the emerging market trend for higher quality Windows software

Lausanne, Switzerland, June 25, 2015 — /REAL TIME PRESS RELEASE/ — Overwhelmingly positive user response confirms strong demand for well-crafted Windows software.

Pipemetrics (http://www.pipemetrics.com) marked the first year on the market of its flagship product Bvckup 2 (http://bvckup2.com/) by announcing that an analysis of user engagement data shows substantial and growing demand from Windows users for higher quality standards.

Windows has been traditionally associated with software that focused on the technical elements first and the user experience second.

Founded in 2012, Pipemetrics was set up with an altogether different take on Windows software. By marrying industrial system engineering with nuanced visual and interactive design, the company develops software that is as lean and powerful as it is beautiful.

This month marks the first anniversary of the release of Bvckup 2 – the first embodiment of company’s design principles. A simple, single-purpose, yet sophisticated and performant local backup software for Windows.

“When we launched Bvckup 2 we wondered whether our high-end engineering philosophy would be accepted by users,” explained company’s founder, Alexandre Pankratov. “After all it’s not uncommon for Windows software to compete on how many things a product does rather on how well it does them. After the release, we were very pleased with the positive reviews in the media, but what completely caught us off guard was the avalanche of compliments received from actual users.”

Conceived for professional, enterprise and advanced home users, the functional power of Bvckup 2 is harnessed through a precise and intuitive interface to deliver a robust user experience.

“This overwhelmingly positive reaction shows that a growing number of Windows users recognize and look for software polish as a feature in its own right. Windows users’ expectations are changing; simply having lots of options is no longer enough.”

Sample of user feedback*
“Bvckup 2 is one of the best pieces of software I’ve used in the last 35 years. Does what you said; solves my problem; Fast.” Michael Fuller

“A truly beautiful, precise and well-executed piece of software.” Riyad Kalla

“Simple, minimalistic, yet so powerful.” Ivan Kolevski

Product information:
Bvckup 2 (pronounced “Backup 2”) is a mirroring data backup software for Windows. Select a pair of directories and the app will make sure that one stays an exact copy of the other. It is light, uncomplicated and includes a comprehensive array of supporting features. It is also incredibly fast.

Company information:
Pipemetrics SA is a Swiss company founded by Alexandre Pankratov, formerly of the Hamachi VPN project, acquired by LogMeIn after growing to 3 million users in 18 months. Actual Multiple Monitors 8.0 Introduces Three Cool Features

A well-known award-winning tool for managing windows on multi-monitor systems has updated to version 8.0. The new release features more convenient and precise placement of windows, moving of open windows between monitors, Mac OS X-style task switching and other functions for better comfort in everyday work.

Vancouver, BC, Canada (August 16, 2013) — Multi-monitor systems are super-efficient in certain applications including design, programming, video and graphics editing. Providing much more screen space they give flexibility, but the cost of this convenience is harder windows manipulation. Moving windows between monitors, arranging, placing and resizing of them isn’t always intuitive on a computer with multiple monitors and requires more accurate mouse moves.

Actual Multiple Monitors 8.0, a new major release of the highly ranked window management tool, offers an impressive range of tools promoting much easier window arrangement on multi-monitor systems. Aside from convenient resizing, positioning and minimizing of windows, the program offers task switching capabilities, desktop management tools, and places additional buttons in the title of windows, including MDI ones.

Enhanced Monitor Selector, a feature introduced earlier, has been improved to provide precise positioning of a window moved to another monitor – in the center of the screen, in a corner, or attached to the center of one of screen edges. Literally two clicks and a window takes the desired place on the monitor (more information: http://www.actualtools.com/windowmanager/help/features/movetomonitor.php#selector).

Version 8.0 includes two brand new features as well. The first one is Save Idle Screens – a function that runs a screensaver on inactive monitors. Notably, such screensaver launches and stops with a hot key and doesn’t stop on mouse or keyboard action as usual (more information: http://www.actualtools.com/windowmanager/help/features/save_idle_screens.php). The second new option emulates Mac OS X Exposé Task Switcher. Upon a hot key, a handy visual thumbnail grid is displayed giving nice and easy way to switch to the given task comparing with the default layout (more information: http://www.actualtools.com/windowmanager/help/features/expose_task_switcher.php).

Actual Multiple Monitors 8 is a blend of functionality highly demanded on multi-monitor systems and friendliness that is really easy to get used to.

Pricing and availability
Actual Multiple Monitors runs on all Windows platforms from Windows 2000 onwards and costs 24.95 USD for a single-user license. Discounts for volume buyers are available (please refer to http://www.actualtools.com/multiplemonitors/order/#volume_discounts). Additional information on Actual Multiple Monitors, a collection of tutorial articles and success stories, and a 30-day evaluation copy are available on the Actual Tools website.

NanoMarkets Issues New Report on Opportunities for Smart Windows

NanoMarkets today announced the release of its new report, “Worldwide Smart Windows Markets 2013-2020.”

Glen Allen, Virginia – June 13, 2013 — Industry analyst firm NanoMarkets today announced the release of its new report, “Worldwide Smart Windows Markets 2013-2020.” This report analyzes and forecasts opportunities for smart (self-dimming) windows in residential buildings, commercial real estate, automobiles and trucks, aircraft and public transportation. It also includes more than 70 exhibits providing detailed market projections – in both value and volume (square meters) terms — with breakouts by technology and applications. Technology coverage includes: passive retrofit films, thermochromics, and photochromics, along with PDLC, SPD and electrochromics. Both film and glass products are included.

Firms mention in the report include: 3M, Asahi Glass, Audi, BMW, Boeing, Cardinal, Chromogenics, Corning, DuPont, DuPont Teijin, Garware, Guardian, Gentex, GKN, GlasNovations, Glassonice, Innovative Glass, InvisiShade, LTI, Mercedes, Mitsubishi, NSG/Pilkington, Pleotint, Polytronix, PPG, Pro Display, RavenBrick, Research Frontiers, Sage, Saint-Gobain, Samsung, Scienstry, Sekisui, SKC, SmartGlass, Solutia/Eastman Chemical, Schott, SPD Control Systems, SwitchLite, Switch Materials, Toray, US e-Chromics, Velux, View, Vision Systems, Volkswagen, Xinology and Zeledyne.

NanoMarkets estimates that the market for smart windows is about $2.3 billion today, growing to $4.7 billion by 2018 and $5.3 billion by 2020.

Additional details about the report are available at: http://www.nanomarkets.net

The firm has announced that it will be co-hosting a webinar on Smart Windows with the FlexTech Alliance on Wednesday, June 26th of this month. Persons interested in registering to attend may do so at https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/519180638

From the Report:

– NanoMarkets’ research indicates that smart windows still have to overcome a perception problem. Many Architects and construction firms still tend to view smart windows as expensive and low performing. Another trap for smart windows companies is misreading the recovery in the real estate markets around the world. This may turn out to be temporary. If so smart windows firms may overinvest and see a rapid decline in profitability if real estate markets go into a slump again.

– NanoMarkets believes that the fastest growing market for smart windows over the period being considered will be for active smart window glass. This is already a substantial market – just over $1 billion – and is expected to reach $2.7 billion by 2018. Active glass windows combines the transparency of glass with full control of both light and heat and can be used both for buildings and vehicles.

– While the US will continue to be the largest market for smart windows, China is where the greatest growth opportunities in the smart windows sector will be found. Currently the market for smart windows in China is around $285 million, growing to $740 million in 2018. Many of the new commercial buildings in China are LEED-certified, making them very suitable for smart windows use. Also, these buildings are designed by large Western architectural firms with a strong familiarity with smart windows. In addition, the Chinese market for luxury cars – the kind of car most likely to use smart windows — is growing fast and will soon overtake the U.S. market. We expect that by 2020, China will account for 23.8 percent of the smart windows market in cars and light automobile vehicles followed by the US at 21.8 percent. It also seems likely that as smart windows technology is transferred to China, new Chinese smart windows firms will begin to emerge.

About NanoMarkets:
NanoMarkets tracks and analyzes emerging market opportunities in solid-state lighting, energy, electronics and other markets created by developments in advanced materials. The firm is a recognized leader in industry analysis and forecasts of this kind and has been covering the smart glass space for more than five years.

SmartTOP USB Support and Update Software Now Available for Mac OS

The SmartTOP add-on convertible top controllers offered by aftermarket automotive specialist Mods4cars all come equipped with a standard USB port. This port allows customers to connect the product to their computers or laptops and quickly update the module firmware or configure the different user programmable options. Updates are available free of charge for the life of each product. The software program is now available not only for Windows but also for Mac OS.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), January 08, 2013 — The add-on aftermarket SmartTOP modules made by Mods4cars allow easy and convenient operation of the convertible top. They give owners the ability to raise and lower the top at slow speeds of up to 60km/h (~38mph) while adding one-touch auto-operation. Most modules also allow use of the original factory remote fob to operate the top from afar and each module has an individual set of user programmable bonus features.

All SmartTOP modules come equipped with a standard USB port. Thanks to the USB connection it is possible to quickly and easily configure the functionality according to personal taste and to update the product firmware online. All that is needed is a computer and the Mods4cars support software available at http://www.mods4cars.com. The software application, called m4cconnect, is now available for Macs running OS X Lion or Mountain Lion.

After installing the program and connecting the module, all settings can be configured with just a few mouse clicks. Users can select for example the maximum speed for top operation and if they want to allow remote operation or not. Often additional features, which are developed as a result of customer feedback, make it into the product firmware after the release. The USB port makes it possible for existing customers to quickly update their modules and profit from improvements and added functionality later down the road.

Updates are provided by Mods4cars without limitations and free of charge for the lifetime of each product. Each kit comes complete with a 6ft USB cord that can be left connected and installed in an accessible spot in order to configure or update the product with a laptop without the need to gain physical access to the module itself.

“The USB port present on all of our SmartTOP modules allows us to offer an unparalleled level of service and technological lead in this product segment.” says PR-Manager Sven Tornow. “We are happy to announce that from now on Mac owners are able to join the ranks of happy Windows users already using this service.” Sven Tornow concludes. A full list of all firmware versions and changelogs is available here: http://www.mods4cars.com/usb

About Mods4cars:
Mods4cars was founded in 2002 with the idea to add a highly demanded feature to the otherwise almost perfect Porsche Boxster: Comfort One-Touch roof operation while driving at slow speeds. The resulting product offered not only that, but also allowed quick and easy installation by just swapping out a relay box, thus leaving no traces and no permanent changes on the vehicle. The first SmartTOP roof controller was born.

The success of their first products in Germany and Europe prompted them in late 2004 to move operations to the USA, to be able to serve the American market as well as all other English speaking countries such as Australia, UK and South Africa from one central location. Their business has grown to a full-fledged international corporation with an office in Las Vegas and a full line of innovative products as well as distributors and installation partners all over the globe.

Being highly specialized in the development and distribution of aftermarket roof- and comfort controllers since 2002 allows them to offer an unsurpassed level of competence and product quality. Their main goal is optimization of each individual product to a maximum in compatibility, usability and intuitive operation. They put greatest effort into development and quality checks of all their products to achieve this goal and meet all expectations of their customers.

The extraordinary success of their products is also based on the great communication with their customers, which usually already starts for each new product during the development and prototyping phase.

Atlantic Remodeling Named Presenting Sponsor For 16th Annual “March For The Animals” To Benefit Maryland SPCA

The Atlantic Remodeling Corporation has been named Presenting Sponsor of the 16th annual “March for the Animals” being held Sunday, April 17, at Druid Hill Park.

Baltimore, MD, April 09, 2011 — The Atlantic Remodeling Corporation ( http://www.atlanticremodeling.com ) has been named Presenting Sponsor of the 16th annual “March for the Animals” being held Sunday, April 17, at Druid Hill Park. The 1.5 mile walk-a-thon around Druid Hill Reservoir is the major charity event conducted by volunteers to raise funds for the Maryland SPCA.

This marks the second year that Atlantic Remodeling has served as the lead sponsor of “March for the Animals,” which involves hundreds of animals lovers and their pets in a day of demonstrations, contests and entertainment. Last year’s event raised $364,000 to benefit the work of the Maryland SPCA, which was founded in Baltimore in 1869 and is one of the nation’s oldest animal welfare organizations.

Betram Lebhar, IV, Atlantic Remodeling’s president and CEO, noted that last year his company also launched a golf tournament, banquet and auction — the “Atlantic Remodeling Play-A-Round for Pets” — at the Mountain Branch Golf Course in Joppa to raise funds for the SPCA.

“Atlantic Remodeling is committed to community service, and we are proud to be major benefactors of the Maryland SPCA, which does so much for the care and adoption of more than 3,000 homeless animals each year — and does so without any government support,” Lebhar said.

Lebhar also noted that Atlantic Remodeling sponsors a special SPCA program that provides for the adoption of an animal over seven years of age for free. For more information about Atlantic Remodeling and its support of SPCA, visit the company’s website at http://www.atlanticremodeling.com. The SPCA website is http://www.mdspca.org.

The Atlantic Remodeling Corporation, now in its 11th year, specializes in the installation of energy-efficient windows, siding and roofing. Operating in the Baltimore/Washington area, the company has been cited as among the best 50 remodeling companies in the nation by Remodeling magazine.

After-market SmartTOP modules for the BMW 6 Convertible (F12), the Mercedes Benz SLK (R172), and the Nissan 370Z Roadster will be available this year. Products for the French convertibles Renault Megane CC (III) and the Renault Wind will also be available this season. Mods4cars will also produce roof controllers for the German VW EOS (Facelift) and the new VW Golf VI Convertible in 2011.

All the new models will feature the SmartTOP’s two most important functions. Firstly, the One-Touch system allows the roof to be opened while driving; the roof can be operated up to a speed of about 40 km/h. All it takes is a quick push of a button inside the cabin, thereby eliminating the inconvenience of having to press and hold the roof button. Secondly, the roof can be controlled from a distance using the car’s existing remote fob without having to change or reprogram the original car key.

“Depending on the module, additional features can be added to these two main functions,” states PR representative Sven Tornow. He continues: “All the modules also feature a practical USB connector that permits our customers to comfortably download unlimited free software updates on their home computer.”

The new SmartTOP after-market roof controllers will start at 249 Euros + tax.

Modules for the following models are now available for purchase: Alfa, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Infiniti, Mazda, Mercedes, Mini, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Volkswagen and Volvo.

Their business has grown to a full-fledged international corporation with an office in California and a full line of innovative products as well as distributors and installation partners all over the globe.
