Robert Miller, President of Future Electronics, Supports “Hiring Our Heroes” Program

Pointe Claire, Quebec (realtimepressrelease) November 20, 2015 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, with corporate headquarters in Montreal, Quebec, has one of its distribution facilities in the United States, located near Memphis, Tennessee.

Future Electronics’ Memphis Area Distribution Center boasts the most advanced state-of-the-art technology in the industry, and is a source of pride for the company and its president, Robert Miller.

Another reason for the Future Electronics team to be proud is its partnership with Hiring Our Heroes, a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation that assists veteran job seekers, active duty military members, guard and reserve members and military spouses.

The Hiring Our Heroes program is a nationwide initiative to help veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses find meaningful employment opportunities. Life after military service presents challenges for men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting their country.

Future Electronics has contributed to restoring hope to these heroes. One example is the hiring of Brandon Jackson to the company’s IT team in May 2014. Brandon joined the military when he was 17 and started basic training in July 2009, immediately after high school graduation. In 2010, Brandon was deployed to Kuwait for 9 months. When Brandon returned home from Kuwait, he was transferred to the 168th MP Battalion in Dyersburg, TN.

Academy of Scuba is Now Operation Blue Pride’s West Coast Training Facility for Disabled Veterans

See What New Partnerships Mean for Operation Blue Pride

Phoenix, AZ, March 23, 2014 – Academy of Scuba announced today it has been selected as the West Coast training site for Operation Blue Pride (OBP) scuba certification program for veterans. OBP is a nonprofit organization out of Chicago focusing on scuba dive training for veterans who are severely mentally and physically injured. Diving is part of their rehabilitation and helps them integrate back into society while providing them with a sense of adventure and accomplishment.

Once scuba certified, veterans will help with conservation projects through Operation Blue Pride. Currently OBP is working on a new partnership with Atlantic White Shark Conservancy. AWSC’s vision is to increase knowledge of Atlantic white sharks and change public perception to conserve the species and ensure biologically diverse marine ecosystems.

Operation Blue Pride and Atlantic White Shark Conservancy will be raising funds to send OBP veterans on white shark research and tagging trips with four veterans joining each trip. Academy of Scuba is slated to start training veterans in May 2014, and is looking to train over 50 people in the next 12 months.

Specially trained staff at Academy of Scuba will work with the specific needs of the veterans. Staff at Academy of Scuba have been trained by the following agencies: Handicapped Scuba Association (HSA), NAUI Adaptive program, and the SDI Scubability program.

Academy of Scuba has multiple locations in Phoenix Arizona, that is easily accessible from the West Coast and their facilities allow dive training year round. Operation Blue Pride is using Scuba Emporium, out of Chicago, for the East Coast training facility.

“The two new locations give OBP the opportunity to go above and beyond its original amount of veterans to certify. Both locations bring years of experience with a true passion to help veterans and do whatever they can do to help our returning veterans without exploiting them. I am really looking forward to this year’s new partnership,” said Chris Maddeford, from Operation Blue Pride.

“What’s great about this program is that they get scuba certified which is a great first step, but it’s only the beginning because the good they can do with the conservation programs through Operation Blue Pride will benefit them and the oceans,” said John Flanders, CO at Academy of Scuba.

“OBP is eager to get our veterans enveloped in this exciting partnership to continue our mission of having returning combat veterans help save our oceans’ marine life, while self healing,” said Madderford.

“I think it’s invigorating,” Flanders said. “When you have someone who has gone through a traumatic situation, and they get in the water, it’s great seeing the spark in their eyes. These veterans are amazing and they want to prove to themselves that they can overcome obstacles. The sense of pride they show sends shivers up your spine and can bring a grown man to cry.”

4Heroes4Life and Life After Active Duty Launch “Let’s Join Forces” Campaign to Support Veterans

Strategic Alliance Brings Together Social Enterprise and Non-Profit to Offer Cord Cruncher Headphones to Raise Money to Aid Discharged Soldiers.

LOS ANGELES (August 20, 2013) — 4Heroes4Life, the social enterprise dedicated to raise money to aid returning veterans, and Life After Active Duty (LAAD), a non-profit organization created to help veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan reintegrate into their community, have banded together to launch “Let’s Join Forces,” a new fund-raising campaign.

The “Let’s Join Forces” campaign is a new joint initiative to raise much-needed funds to aid returning veterans through sale of the Cord Cruncher tangle-free headphones. The Cord Cruncher is a set of portable headphones wrapped in a stretch latex sleeve to keep them from tangling. The Cord Cruncher is being offered by social enterprise company 4Heroes4Lifem, which is applying a new approach to fund-raising, using commercial business strategies to raise funds to directly support American veterans. The Cord Cruncher is the first product being offered by 4Heroes4Life, and 50 percent of all sales through the “Let’s Join Forces” initiative will go to fund LAAD’s veterans support programs.

“We are partnering with Life After Active Duty as a cause that is directly related to our mission: to aid returning veterans with much-needed services,” said Mark George, founder of 4Heroes4Life. “As social entrepreneurs, we can align our grassroots funding efforts with the cause, giving donors something tangible in exchange for their support. We want our donors to get a great product and understand that their hard-earned dollars go directly to the cause. As we expand our catalog, we expect to forge a lasting relationship with donors and help a lot of veterans along the way.”

LAAD is a non-profit organization that supports veterans returning home from war to help them make a successful transition to civilian life. LAAD has four main focus areas: direct support and training for returning veterans, raising community consciousness through education, providing basic coping skills through their “Silent Wounds” program, and empowering veterans and their families through personal development.

4Heroes4Life’s is a community organization dedicated to raising capital to support programs for our nation’s veteran heroes and their families. 4Heroes4Life markets consumer goods and services and uses the proceeds to fund programs to support homeless veterans, treat wounded and disabled veterans, provide job placement and training, treat PTSD, and offer other veteran services. 4Heroes4Life is committed to partnering with other organizations and social enterprise networks to promote return on community (ROC). In addition to raising money to provide aid for veterans, 4Heroes4Life also serves as an advocate for veterans, working to change public policy to help build a stronger local ecosystem to support veterans.

Luxury Travel Ltd. Kicks Off Helicopter Services for Veterans to Visit Old Battle Fields in Ba Ria Vung Tau

The company (www.luxurytravels.asia) will be launching day trips by private charter helicopter from Ho Chi Minh City to Ba Ria Vung Tau for interested travelers.

Hanoi, Vietnam, June 01, 2012 — The Luxury Travel Company is Vietnam’s first luxury tour company and full travel service agency. Luxury Travel is experienced in providing special services and unique tourism products to luxury-minded global travelers.

Long Tan is a village in Ba Ria Vung Tau Province, Vietnam. When it was part of South Vietnam, it was part of Phuoc Tuy Province. It is renowned for its rubber plantations and is home to a very small population of roughly 1,200 people.

The Battle of Long Tan is arguably the most famous battle fought by the Australian Army during the Vietnam War. The battle took place from August 18-19, 1966 and was fought in a rubber plantation near the village of Long Tan, about four kilometres northeast of Vung Tau.

The action occurred when D Company of the 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR), part of the 1st Australian Task Force (1 ATF), encountered the Viet Cong (VC) 275 Regiment and elements of the D445 Local Forces Battalion. D Company was supported by other Australian units, as well as New Zealand and United States personnel.

The battle is often used in Australian officer training as an example of the importance of combining and coordinating infantry, artillery, armour and military aviation.

“Your tour of this historic site will start with a 07:30 pick up from the main lobby of your hotel in HCMC (aka Saigon). After breakfast, travelers will drive to Tan Son Nhat Heliport to fly to Ba Ria Vung Tau. You will fly over the coastal city and have 15 minutes in the sky to take in the panoramic view of the former Nui Dat Task Force base. Then, you will land at Vung Tau Airport. “This bird’s eye view is great and quite emotionally moving, especially for veterans,” said David Nguyen Sales and Marketing Manager of Luxury Travel Company.

Luxury Travel’s driver will wait for travelers there, and then transfer them to Long Tan Nui Dat to see the remains of the vast camp. The former runway is now a wide street in the local village and what was the helipad is now a soccer field. A school established by Australian veterans is also nearby. Later, you will drive past the location of the Horseshoe (access not permitted these days due to mining activity) and go to the DeCourtney Rubber Plantation, then pause to reflect at the Long Tan Cross before helicoptering back to Ho Chi Minh City where travelers will arrive at 17:00 and return by car to hotel.

The company provides private charter airplane or helicopter to Con Dao, Phu Quoc islands.

“We believe that travel experiences are not ‘one size fits all,’ but are instead very personal, with each aspect tailor made to specific tastes and preferences. We are constantly breaking new ground to develop innovative and interesting new tours. To whet your appetite, and to suit those with special interests, we have come up with some ideas such as helicopter travel, private jets, archaeological travel, medical tourism, photography holidays, veteran tours, agriculture travel, pilgrimage tours, art tours for collectors, and volunteerism/ philanthropy excursions. Let us help to make your dream vacation a reality with a personally tailored experience designed for your needs. We are specialists in privately guided and fully tailor made holidays. Whatever vacation experience you desire, we will deliver it in style.” – Pham Ha, Founder and CEO Of Luxury Travel Ltd.

Navy Veteran Utilizes CrowdFunding To Open Meineke Car Care Center in Pensacola

Decorated veteran seeks financing via Boost A Hero program.

Pensacola, FL (USA), Wednesday – March 21, 2012 — After 10 years in the United States Navy, Tom Perez has signed with Meineke Car Care Centers to take over the location at 2871 West Michigan Ave. in Pensacola, Fla. Meineke quickly approved Perez’s franchise application because of his skills and personality. Meineke has discounted its franchise fee by 25 percent and is financing nearly 75 percent of the entire purchase, but Perez still needs to raise additional capital to get started. He is the first Meineke franchisee to use Sprigster’s Boost A Hero ( http://www.sprigster.com/boost-a-hero ) franchise crowdfunding program.

Perez, 31, who was honorably discharged last year due to downsizing, served as a master of arms in the Navy. He completed three tours in Iraq and many tours in other locations. Perez is a decorated veteran who has received four Navy/Marine Corp Achievement Medals, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, three Good Conduct Medals, the National Defense Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, the Global War On Terrorism Expeditions Medal and the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.

“Tom is a great franchise candidate who served our country for 10 years and just recently returned to the U.S.,” said Dave Schaefers, senior vice president of franchise development of Driven Brands. “Tom has a great personality and the skills to be a successful business owner. Veterans make great franchise owners because they are hard working and know how to follow a system. We look forward to bringing Tom into the system and we’re doing everything we can to help him get the financing he needs to get started.”

Boost A Hero is dedicated to using crowdfunding to get U.S. veterans the start they need to be franchise business owners. Veterans who are accepted by Boost A Hero create a project campaign telling their story and funding goal. The projects can be viewed on the website ( http://www.sprigster.com/boost-a-hero ) where people can make contributions. View Perez’s project at http://www.sprigster.com/projects/6-help-navy-vet-tom-open-a-meineke.

“In my 10 years in the military, I spent half that time in hostile environments. Now I am ready to use my leadership and management experience combined with my education to be a successful entrepreneur,” Perez said. “I know that my military training will help me excel in business because it instilled in me the leadership skills and the work ethic to make it happen. I’m really looking forward to getting started with a great brand like Meineke and I’m very excited to be one of the first people to use the Boost A Hero program for financing.”

Meineke is owned by Driven Brands, the parent company to six franchised automotive brands. Other Driven Brands companies include MAACO Franchising, Inc. (collision repair and auto painting), Econo Lube N’ Tune (automotive repair/quick-lube services), Aero Colours (automotive paint repair), AutoQual (vehicle reconditioning, protection and appearance maintenance services) and Drive N Style (aftermarket installation services), as well as Tortal.net, a training company that specializes in developing interactive online training solutions.
