Richman Signature Properties and Laurel & Wolf Unveil 2017 Trends for Apartment Interior Design

Designed Model Homes at Aurora in Tampa and Parc at White Rock in Dallas Offer Glimpse Into Trends, Including Individualism, Simplicity, Refuge From Tech.

Greenwich, CT, USA — Today’s millennials and Gen Xers are forgoing home ownership and flocking toward apartment rentals in record numbers. And while they’re doing so by choice to maintain their flexible lifestyles in live-work-play environments, they are not willing to sacrifice on style. Historically, apartment communities have shied away from allowing residents to individualize their apartments through painting and other customizations, but Richman Signature Properties (http://www.richmansignature.com), a leader in luxury rental communities with properties throughout the U.S., is doing just the opposite. In fact, the company has teamed up with leading online interior design service Laurel & Wolf (http://www.laurelandwolf.com) to create chic interior design options curated specifically for this demographic.

“We’ve worked with Laurel & Wolf designers to uncover the top trends for apartments that feel like forever homes. It’s all part of our mission to reimagine what rental living looks like for our residents. A major differentiator of our communities is the design flexibility each property offers, not typically found in other apartment communities that have stringent rules for decorating,” said Kristen Gucwa, vice president of marketing for Richman Signature Properties. “Our partnership with Laurel & Wolf is a testament to our commitment to give our residents the opportunity to express individuality through on trend, in demand home design.”

Beyond the design insights, Richman Signature Properties is making the stylish décor options a reality for its residents. Upon moving into one of its luxury communities, residents at all Richman Signature Properties may choose to Live Prettier with a complimentary Laurel & Wolf Signature Design package (http://www.laurelandwolf.com/pricing), customized to complement residents’ individual tastes, lifestyle and budget. The service connects residents to work one-on-one with a designer entirely online.

To demonstrate the trends and showcase to future residents the stylish possibilities for their new home, Laurel & Wolf has created an entirely furnished look for Richman Signature Properties’ newly completed model homes at Aurora in Downtown Tampa and Parc at White Rock in Dallas.

Following are the top apartment interior design trends for 2017 from Richman Signature Properties and Laurel & Wolf, which can be implemented into any apartment home that needs a refresh.

A Shift in Bedroom Space
With an increase in the use of technology and the bustle of everyday life, renters are feeling the need to make bedrooms a sanctuary for rest and relaxation. Millennials and Gen Xers are moving their home offices and TVs out of the bedroom, and shifting to calming colors and monochromatic palettes. Additionally, articulating sconces are taking the place of traditional table lamps in the bedroom. They offer a more direct source of light, creating more peace in the space, and can be ideal for young professionals and couples with differing bed times.

Maximizing Style with Curated Colors
Millennial and Gen X renters are taking a page out of the history books and looking toward more classical color palettes for their homes. This year, we’ll see a rise in popularity of pairing rich pigmented tones in dusty blues and grays with hunter green and wheat accents. Warm, calming colors will be complemented by natural textures to further tie to the need for home sanctuary.

Simplicity and Originality is a Must
When it comes to millennial renters, the big trend is ‘less is more.’ There’s a desire to streamline spaces – to be uncluttered and less fussy than traditional design. For the pieces they do choose, millennials are open to spending a little more money if it makes their room stand out, especially from their friends.

In addition to simplicity, there is a renewed interest in original furniture pieces and mixing design styles to create a one-of-a-kind, simple yet eclectic look. Driven by the desire to be unique, we can expect millennials to purchase more antiques, vintage and one-off pieces over the mass-produced furniture makers.

Going Green (In Moderation)
Recently, Pantone released its 2017 color of the year: Greenery. Greenery is bright, lush and ideal for residents who want to bring that outdoor feel into their homes. While renters may feel more comfortable sticking with neutrals for wall colors, we’ll see a rise in modern takes on plants, e.g., lush terrariums to add a splash of greenery in the home, similar to the living room model found in Richman Signature Properties’ Parc at White Rock in Dallas.

“Today, millennials desire more than just a space to call home, they want to live in a place that showcases their unique tastes and draws upon their life experiences,” said Leura Fine, CEO and founder of Laurel & Wolf. “So, through our partnership with Richman Signature Properties, we are proud to be able to provide residents the opportunity to create a space that truly reflects their wants and needs – a place that celebrates their individual style.”

In addition to the online interior designers, Richman Signature Properties’ collaboration with Laurel & Wolf provides residents with expert insights on interior design trends and a collection of on-trend paint colors selected exclusively for Richman Signature Properties’ to help residents create one-of-a-kind living spaces.

Parc at White Rock in Dallas and Aurora in Tampa are part of the fast-growing upscale collection of Richman Signature Properties including The Sedona, Grady Square, and The Epic at Gateway Centre in Florida’s Greater Tampa Bay area, and Azura, Palm Ranch and Portico in South Florida. Additional upcoming communities include Infinity LoHi in Denver, Library Tower and F11 in San Diego, Sage at Cerritos in the Los Angeles area and Biscayne 27 in Miami.

T5 Data Centers Signs County of Los Angeles as Newest Tenant for T5@LA Data Center Facility

County of Los Angeles Migrates from Its Own Data Center to T5@LA to take Advantage of Turnkey Infrastructure Support, Cost Savings, and Expandability.

Los Angeles, CA, USA — T5 Data Centers™ (http://www.t5datacenters.com), innovators in providing state-of-the-art, customizable and highly reliable computing support environments, has signed the County of Los Angeles as the newest tenant for the company’s T5@LA customizable data center. The County will be migrating its data center operations from its own facility to T5@LA to take advantage of the infrastructure support and cost savings offered by T5’s wholesale data center, as well as the potential for future expansion.

The LA County Board of Supervisors directed an assessment of options to replace the existing outdated data center with either a build, buy, or lease solution. After performing a cost analysis, the County determined that leasing a wholesale data center facility would offer greater flexibility and prove more cost effective than upgrading its current data center operation. After an extensive search, Los Angeles County selected T5@LA because of its secure environment, redundant power systems, and seismic reinforcement, as well as its strategic location. The T5@LA facility also fulfilled the County’s immediate operational needs, providing a ready-to-occupy location customizable to their needs with energy and water efficient environment control systems.

“Winning the County of Los Angeles as a customer validates T5’s market advantage – our wholesale data centers are more robust and cost-effective than maintaining your own data center facilities,” said Aaron Wangenheim, Chief Operating Officer for T5 Data Centers. “This latest contract also demonstrates that our T5@LA facility is in the right location with the right capabilities for customers throughout the Los Angeles market who need mission-critical computing support.”

Like all T5 wholesale data centers, T5@LA offers a fully customizable facility that gives customers total control over MEP technology and design. Each data suite is completely autonomous, separated by slab-to-deck, fire-rated walls for secure operations. The T5@LA data center also meets HIPAA, HITECH, and PCI regulations and provides a highly secure operating environment.

For more information about T5’s retail colocation and data center services, visit http://www.t5datacenters.com.

Honey for your Honey this Valentine’s Day! Love is Sweet. Pure, Raw Honey From Carmel Honey Company, Started by 11-Year-Old Carmel Student, is the Perfect Gift for your Honey on Valentine’s Day

Sweet as can Bee! Honey from Carmel Honey Company, founded by 14-year-old Carmel student Jake Reisdorf who was 11 at the time, is the perfect heart healthy treat for your honey this Valentine’s Day!

Carmel, CA, January 10, 2017 — Sweet as can Bee! Honey from Carmel Honey Company, founded by 14-year-old Carmel student Jake Reisdorf who was 11 at the time, is the perfect heart healthy treat for your honey this Valentine’s Day! This golden liquid, created and stored by some of the smallest and most industrious members of the natural kingdom, has come to stand for all that is sweet and desirable in the world.

Honey in History

Apiculture, or bee-keeping, dates back to 700 BC, but man’s desire for the bee’s precious nectar goes back much further than that — a 10,000-year-old rock painting in Spain depicts two human figures on a ladder collecting honey from a wild hive. In 2100 BC, honey was mentioned in the sacred writings of Egypt and India; in the Old Testament, the Promised Land is described as “the land of milk and honey”. And mythological rumor has it that In Greek mythology, it is said that Cupid dipped the tips of his “love arrows” in honey to fill the lovers hearts with sweetness.

Honey and Health

The amazing benefits found in honey include antioxidant and anti-microbial properties that are unique to this all-natural sweetener. Honey has also been used for centuries as a natural, fragrant and wholly pleasing beauty treatment, due to its humectant qualities and silky feel. It is said that Cleopatra herself owed much of her legendary beauty to a daily infusion of golden honey.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, be sure to treat your special someone to the gold standard of what has become sweet and desirable in the world this Valentine’s Day — honey! Carmel Honey Company has four types of honey currently available — Sage Honey, Wildflower Honey, Orange Blossom Honey and Meadowfoam Honey. Carmel Honey Company provides all-natural, pure, raw, premium honey that is harvested straight from the hive.

And Reisdorf, as part of his “Jake Gives Back” program, donates a portion of his honey sales proceeds to organizations that are expanding research and education efforts by addressing the production, nutritional value, health benefits, economics, and/or quality standards of honey bees and honey.

“I’m just an average 14-year-old who likes honey bees,” Reisdorf told California Bountiful magazine. “With beekeeping, you are helping the environment and it is really fun and interesting. I’m all about the education and practicing beekeeping and doing honey. The message that I want everyone to know is: If the bees go, we go, so help save the bees.”

In addition to individual jars of honey, Carmel Honey Company offers three special packages perfect for your honey this Valentine’s Day: Carmel Honey Company Honey Sampler, Honeycomb and Honey Stix.

The Sampler is the ideal way to sample all four pure, raw, premium honey varietals. This set includes 3-oz. jars of Sage Honey, Wildflower Honey, Orange Blossom Honey and Meadowfoam Honey.

They are packaged ready for gift giving in an elegant clear gift bag and red bow. There is a special gift box available only on the website for Valentine’s Day.

Honeycomb is the absolute purest form of honey. Circular frames are placed inside the beehive and the honey bees instinctively know to build it out first with wax, then fill it with honey. Since the honey bees make the wax and honey, the 8-oz rounds are 100% edible. Harvested individually at different times, from a variety of hives, no two rounds will taste exactly the same. These honeycombs are delicious on a cheese board or cut and placed over soft-serve ice cream. Also an excellent gift for the foodie in your life.

Honey Stix offer a great boost of energy in a convenient package. In a lunchbox or purse this 12-pack is an easy way to curb sweet cravings the natural way. Filled with the Wildflower Honey varietal, each Stix contains 1 teaspoon of honey. Excellent portion control for tea and coffee and also an ideal stocking stuffer or unique gift for all ages.

And remember, when you purchase a jar of honey from the Carmel Honey Company, (or place a honey bee pollination hive in your backyard), you have contributed to the research and education of the public on the importance of pollination and the benefits of the honey bee.

Carmel Honey Company honey can be purchased directly from the website (which grew out of his elementary class project) at www.carmelhoneycompany.com.

· 4 cups Chopped Nuts (walnuts/almonds preferred, but whatever you have on hand)

· 1 teaspoon Cinnamon

· 1 plus 1/2 stick Butter, melted (FYI – you’ll probably need more)

· 2 cups Carmel Honey Company Wildflower Honey

· 1/2 cup Water

· 1/2 cup Sugar

· 3 teaspoons Vanilla Extract

Directions:

Remove frozen phyllo dough package from freezer and refrigerate for 24 hours to thaw.

Set at room temperature at least 1 hour before using.

Melt ½ stick butter. Set aside.

Remove the phyllo sheets as needed keeping other sheets covered under a damp cloth.

Toss together nuts and cinnamon. Set aside.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a rectangular baking pan. Trim phyllo stack to fit pan.

Place sheet of phyllo in pan and brush with melted butter. Repeat 4 times for a total of five sheets.

Sprinkle nuts to make a single thin layer.

Butter three sheets of phyllo and place on top of nuts. Add layer of nuts and buttered sheets.

Repeat, until you’re out of nuts (keep in mind next (final) step)

Top with at least 4 buttered phyllo sheets, to ending with a buttered top.

Cut a diagonal diamond pattern (or in simple squares) using a very sharp knife.

Bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown.

While Baklava is baking, combine butter, honey, water, sugar, and vanilla in saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.

After removing Baklava from oven, IMMEDIATELY drizzle half the saucepan evenly over top, allowing pan to sit/absorb for a few minutes. Then drizzle remaining sauce until thoroughly moistened.

Allow Baklava to cool, uncovered, for several hours to set.

About Jake and Carmel Honey Company:

Jake Reisdorf is the chief beekeeper and owner of Carmel Honey Company, which he started as part of a school project where his teacher assigned professions to each student and directed them to research the profession and build a presentation on it.

While researching his assigned profession of website designer, Jake, 11 years old at the time, decided to take it one step further and actually create a real website. At that time, Jake had taken one beekeeping class with his Dad and thought it would be cool to design a website about honey bees.

Not only did Jake get an “A” on the project, but it inspired him and spurred him to start Carmel Honey Company. That was three years ago.

His passion for honey bees grew as he learned about Colony Collapse Disorder and real honey. Expanding his research and education drove Jake to learn more about honey and bees and ultimately decide it was critical to give back.

In addition, Jake places hives on residential and commercial properties to raise awareness and encourage others to support the honey bee.

The “Jake Gives Back” program includes sharing honey bee knowledge with kids and adults of all ages. Whether he is in a classroom speaking to first-grade students, or at a corporate event talking with business owners and seasoned professionals, his passion and appreciation of how honey bees impact our world is infectious. He also “gives back” by making a financial donation to honey bee research and education organizations.

Jake currently attends 8th grade at Carmel Middle School and keeps his knowledge of Apiology (the scientific study of bees) current by continuing to manage his own honey bee hives and attending industry conferences throughout the country.
