“I Love Being Me” a Wonderful Lesson in Acceptance

“I Love Being Me” is a joyful, positive book that will encourage readers to celebrate humanity in all its colors.

Portland, OR (USA), November 20th, 2016 — When you look in the mirror, do you like what you see? Liberty Belle does. A rather precocious child, Libby, as she is called, has a joy for life and a level of self-confidence that is contagious. Just ask her friends, a diverse collection of little girls, each with their own unique value, that have come together to have fun and enjoy life. “I Love Being Me” is a joyful, positive book that will encourage readers to celebrate humanity in all its colors.

“Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to travel and live in a variety of countries around the globe,” said author April Allen. “I have seen first-hand the benefits of diversity. When one has been exposed to a diversity of people they tend to be more well-rounded, better communicators and in turn better leaders. When I became a mother I knew that I wanted to raise my daughters to accept and celebrate the differences that we all have. From this desire was born Liberty Belle, a fun and colorful character who happily points out her friend’s unique differences, while emphatically declaring she loves everything about herself.”

Each of the friends that Libby meets in the book “I Love Being Me” are actually a composite of some of the wonderful people that have been in April’s life from elementary school through law school and beyond. She wanted to honor the friends that have been an inspiration in her real life.

“My hope is that as parents are reading the story of Libby and her friends to their children that it will spark some interesting conversation,” said Allen. “I wanted to create a story that allows children and parents to have important discussions in a healthy, fun and loving way. God created us all and loves us all, no matter our background, color, or ability and hopefully “I Love Being Me” will help foster that inclusive behavior in our readers.

“This is such a special book,” said Lisa Umina, founder and president of Halo Publishing International. “Liberty Belle is a great voice for the next generation as she embraces different ethnicities and races while celebrating who she is and her own uniqueness.”

KHAYAL: A Musical Repertoire by Santhosh Hedge

TITAN Presents a Reprise of Bollywood’s Golden Classics.

Bangalore, India, October 21st, 2016 — TITAN Presents a Reprise of Bollywood’s Golden Classics.

Date: 22nd October ’16, Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Bengaluru

Santhosh Kumar Hedge, a man whose seasoned voice serves as a memoir to Bollywood’s music, is a self-taught musician who has successfully completed 50 years in the music industry. To mark this momentous occasion, he will be performing at ‘The Golden Jubilee Show’ at Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Bengaluru, organized by Titan.

KHAYAL, as the word symbolizes, will be a token reminiscent of Bollywood’s yesteryear’s music. This escapade will also witness some of the finest musical talents; one of which is Mithila Hegde, his daughter who has been sharing the stage with her father since the age of 9. Joining them will be Ahmed Ali, a renowned Hindustani/Sufi artiste from Kolkata; and Shruti Bhide, a popular singer/theatre performer based in Bangalore will heighten the fervour of this performance with their soul-stirring music. The band will also comprise of a 15-member reputed orchestra from Kerala, who have played for the likes of Yesudas, S. Janaki, and Unnikrishnan, to name a few.

With 10,000 performances to his credit, Santhosh Hegde is known for the ease with which he transitions through various genres of music. His tryst with music goes back a long way back to 1966, when a group of local musicians and him organized a stage show called “Young Talents’ Night” at the Don Bosco Hall in Mangalore, and it’s been 50 years since. A film buff in his teenage years, he eagerly awaited the release of Hindi films. When the numerous songs served as a source of respite for the rest of the audience, he would be the only one to stay back to listen and memorize the lyrics to each of the tracks. Inspired by All India Radio and Bollywood Classics, he embarked upon his musical journey. The joy that Santhosh derives from connecting with people through music, gives him immense gratification.

Tickets for the show will be available at the venue, Chowdiah Memorial Hall, for a price of Rs 1000, Rs 500 & Rs 300.

Humboldt Legends First Cannabis Company to Participate with Sale in County of Humboldt’s Pilot Program to ‘Track and Trace’ Origins of Cannabis Grown in County

With the state of California on the verge of approving the recreational use of marijuana in November, at least one company is ahead of the curve when it comes to transparency

Humboldt County, CA, August 24, 2016 — With the state of California on the verge of approving the recreational use of marijuana in November, at least one company is ahead of the curve when it comes to transparency, consumer confidence and environmental responsibility.

Humboldt Legends brings together a group of heritage cannabis farmers with some of the highest environmental standards in the industry. One of its farmers participated in the first transaction in the pilot program for the County of Humboldt to track the movement of marijuana through each step of the supply chain, from grower to distributor to consumer. The purchaser was KIVA Confections, a medical cannabis company that focuses on gourmet chocolate confections.

Called “track and trace,” the county utilizes the services of Switzerland-based security company SICPA Security LLC, which can track the origins of every batch of marijuana sold in the county using QR code stamps, much like they currently do for cigarettes.

After a cultivator harvests and packages their cannabis crop, they put the traceable, counterfeit-resistant stamp on the product. The QR code, which can be scanned by a smart phone, includes information about the product, including the name of the strain (“Steelhead Sativa,” for example), the date it was harvested, who grew it (name of cultivator and farm), strain type, and THC and CBD (primary ingredients in marijuana) yields.

This allows not only the government to track the origins of the product, but also distributors and especially consumers to do the same, so they know exactly what they’re buying is from Humboldt County, that it is legal, who it was grown by and the strength of the strain of cannabis.

“It’s an incredibly exciting moment, for me personally and from an industry standpoint,” said one of Humboldt Legends’ farmers and co-founder, Scott Davies, who has been a grower for 20 years. “Humboldt County is the first county in the state to adopt this under the MMRSA (Medical Marijuana Safety and Regulations Act) guidelines. It’s been a long time coming, but this way we are able to tell our story, begin to add taxes to local and state coffers and get rid of the kinds of products that are bad for the environment. I’ve worked all my life for this moment.”

Humboldt Legends, A California Benefit Corporation, was founded in 2015 by Davies, owner of Winterbourne Farms, together with other Humboldt County farmers, industry professionals, and community leaders. Its mission statement is simple yet profound: “Give the plant back to the people, grow for good, and use business to inspire environmental responsibility.”

Davies said the mission of Humboldt Legends is to apply the same level of confidence and concern consumers have for “the lettuce they purchase” to cannabis.

“If consumers care about the wine they buy and the food they eat, they should also care about the cannabis they use, it’s the most logical thing in the world,” said Davies, who likened cannabis track and trace to how wine and cigarettes are also labeled and tracked. “Track and trace increases consumer confidence, absolutely.”

Humboldt County’s “Humboldt Cannabis Pilot Program,” the first of its kind in the state, started Aug. 1 and concludes in November. The county’s pilot program will be fully compliant with the so-called Adult Use Act — California Marijuana Legalization Initiative, Proposition 64 — should it pass in November.

“A local track and trace program is critical to demonstrate that the county’s medical cannabis regulatory program incorporates enforcement principles important to local and federal law enforcement, including preventing distribution of cannabis to minors, preventing the diversion of cannabis to other states, preventing cannabis revenue from supporting criminal enterprises and preventing the growing of cannabis on public lands,” said Humboldt County Agricultural Commissioner Jeff Dolf.

For Davies, this collaborative effort between Humboldt County, SICPA (which worked with the county on a pro-bono basis to develop the program), and the cannabis industry, which includes cultivators, distributors and dispensaries, is truly historic.

“There’s a huge emotional impact in Humboldt County and we celebrate this partnership with local government in this endeavor,” he said. “Overall, it’s a win-win for everybody.”

Davies added that the program also helps to retain the branding and reputation of Humboldt County as producing some of the best, if not the best, cannabis in the country. What Napa County is to wine, Humboldt County is to cannabis, he said.

Humboldt County’s unique terroir serves as a foundation for Humboldt Legends farmers to grow and produce the highest quality cannabis. Humboldt Legends will be launching with the 2016 Fall Harvest.

Orange Juice in Bishop’s Garden Selected a Winner in the 37th Annual Telly Awards

The Telly Awards has named 20/20 Productions as a Bronze winner for Online Video as well as creator Otessa Ghadar for Directing in the 37th Annual Telly Awards for their piece titled “Orange Juice in Bishop’s Garden”.

Washington, DC, May 05, 2016 – The Telly Awards has named 20/20 Productions as a Bronze winner for Online Video as well as creator Otessa Ghadar for Directing in the 37th Annual Telly Awards for their piece titled “Orange Juice in Bishop’s Garden”. With over 13,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is truly an honor.

Orange Juice in Bishop’s Garden details the lives of a group of teenagers navigating high school and growing up in Washington, DC during the 1990’s. It’s all about teen magic – creating new and marvelous mischief with best friends, listening to mix-tapes, reading Sassy magazines, missing the last Metro, and getting stuck miles from payphones. Accompany the young heroine, Sarah, as she gets herself into idle summer misbehavior, love triangle betrayals, and friendship fallouts. Orange Juice in Bishop’s Garden is a story about what her life is like before school is truly over, when she knows it’s all going to change for good. It’s about friends she’ll never forget, first mistakes, and childish dreams not yet polluted by reality. She and her friends will engage in typical teen idolatry of hot musicians and renegades. They’ll set each other up and tear each other down. They’ll crash house parties and realize that sometimes in life, ther e are no ‘do-overs.’ They’ll steal cars, candies, and hearts – they’ll make you wish you were a teen again. All the teens will have their unique drama – whether with failed exemplary parents, clumsy self-discovery, or glorious heartbreak – and they will cling to their friendships to get through it all. They’ll find relief through raves, secrecy, and rebellion. Careless and carefree, they are timeless teenage renegades, searching for meaning and identity.

The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.

For its 37th season, The Telly Awards will once again give the public the power to view and rate videos submitted as part of the People’s Telly Awards. In addition to recognition from the Silver Telly Council, the judging panel that selects the Telly Awards winners, the Internet community helps decide the People’s Telly Awards winners.

A prestigious judging panel of over 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work – entries do not compete against each other – rather entries are judged against a high standard of merit. Less than 10% of entries are chosen as Winners of the Silver Telly, our highest honor. Approximately 25% of entries are chosen as Winners of the Bronze Telly.

“The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,” said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. 20/20 Productions’ accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production.”

When asked about this prestigious achievement, 20/20 Productions creator and director Otessa Ghadar says, “I’m delighted and honored to be recognized for my directing in the wild west of film… aka the web. It’s great to have one’s work recognized and in such good company and I look forward to the future and what’s next.”

SmartTOP Add-On Convertible Top Controller for Audi TT 8S Now Available

The SmartTOP Add-On Convertible Top Controller made by Mods4cars is available for the new Audi TT Roadster 8S effective immediately. The aftermarket Convertible Top Controller allows operation of the top with convenient one-touch operation using the console switch as well as opening and closing of the top from afar using the original key fob remote.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), April 5th, 2016 — The add-on SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller kit for the Audi TT Roadster 8S is now available. “We are starting off the year 2016 with a new product and are happy to announce availability of our smart solution for the new Audi TT Roadster.” says PR-Manager Sven Tornow.

The Convertible Top Controller made by Mods4cars is a kit which, once installed in the car, gives owners a bunch of clever functions and features making day to day life with the Convertible more fun. The SmartTOP kit enables one-touch operation for the console switch. It is no longer necessary to hold down the switch for the entire duration of the operation. A quick tap is enough to start a full automatic top opening or closing cycle.

Additionally the top can be operated from a distance simply by using the original key fob remote. A quick key combination opens or closes the top as desired. “The top can already be lowered while still approaching the car; a great convenience on hot days. It can also quickly be closed at the first sign of impending rainfall.” Sven Tornow continues. The original key or remote transmitter do not have to be modified.

Like other products in the SmartTOP lineup, this module also offers a host of bonus features. The windows can be controlled separately from the top by remote. The wind deflector can be programmed to automatically rise after the top opens. On cars equipped with keyless options the top can also be controlled by touching the door handle three times. The console switch operation direction can be reversed and an extended mode can be activated which allows the ignition to be turned on or off during an ongoing top operation. The entire module can be temporarily disabled while retaining all user configuration settings for when it is re-enabled later.

All functions and features can be configured to personal taste. The SmartTOP is equipped with a USB port, so it can be connected to a Mac or Windows PC for quick and easy configuration as well as firmware updates. Support software and updates are offered by Mods4cars free of charge.

Installation is dead simple due to a plug-and-play wiring adapter harness being part of the kit. Connections between the SmartTOP and the vehicle electronics are made by just plugging in some connectors. No wires need to be cut or spliced into. It is always possible to remove the kit while leaving absolutely no damage to the car.

The SmartTOP kit for the Audi TT Roadster 8S is available for 269 Euros + tax. Aftermarket automotive electronics specialist Mods4cars offers SmartTOP modules for the following popular brands: Alfa, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Infiniti, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Volvo and Volkswagen. SmartTOP kits are also available for the previous model Audi TT 8J as well as Audi A3, A4, A5 and R8 Spyder.

About Mods4cars:
Mods4cars was founded in 2002 with the idea to add a highly demanded feature to the otherwise almost perfect Porsche Boxster: Comfort One-Touch roof operation while driving at slow speeds. The resulting product offered not only that, but also allowed quick and easy installation by just swapping out a relay box, thus leaving no traces and no permanent changes on the vehicle. The first SmartTOP roof controller was born.

The success of their first products in Germany and Europe prompted them in late 2004 to move operations to the USA, to be able to serve the American market as well as all other English speaking countries such as Australia, UK and South Africa from one central location. Their business has grown to a full-fledged international corporation with an office in Las Vegas and a full line of innovative products as well as distributors and installation partners all over the globe.

Being highly specialized in the development and distribution of aftermarket roof- and comfort controllers since 2002 allows them to offer an unsurpassed level of competence and product quality. Their main goal is optimization of each individual product to a maximum in compatibility, usability and intuitive operation. They put greatest effort into development and quality checks of all their products to achieve this goal and meet all expectations of their customers.

The extraordinary success of their products is also based on the great communication with their customers, which usually already starts for each new product during the development and prototyping phase.
