Los Angeles, CA, August 22, 2014 – An already well-respected frontman and singer in the bluegrass community, Tim Shelton rose to fame with his band NewFound Road. After signing to Rounder, a string of hits and critical praise, Shelton aims to venture into a brand new creative project as a solo artist, combining his love for rock, country, and folk.

“I’ve always loved and appreciated all kinds of music, and it was almost nagging at me that I wanted to do something else … I didn’t want to deal with reinventing NewFound Road, I’d been wanting to do other things musically, to go other places, and so I thought, now is the time.”

Recorded in Nashville and produced by Barry Bales, this first single to debut his solo album is both heartbreaking and soothing to the ear that one can empathize about living a lonely, single life. Shelton’s crisp vocals and simple guitar riffs are what make it a solid country song and a memorable anthem.

Honest lyrics and Shelton’s pure voice are what make “Learning How To Live Alone” such a relatable song with it’s repetitive, convincing chorus and steady pace. Shelton’s confident introduction to his full-length debut is only driven by his respected reputation and vision.

“I just want to make music that isn’t necessarily traditional Bluegrass.  I love it, but I also love James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Rock, hard Rock, traditional Country—all of those.  Just music.”

Learning How To Live Alone” is now available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon and all major digital outlets.

New York City Based Urban-Flamenco Guitarist Eric Kamen Sets Fourth CD Release, Serenades for September 2 Release Date

New Instrumental Release Features Single and Video for Opening Track “The Lost Tribe”

‘While I never in a million years intended this to be a political statement, one can’t help notice that music from around the World, from the US, from Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa can all work together so well that it cannot be overlooked! In the end, we are all the same!’

Los Angeles, CA, August 22, 2014 – Raw, natural talent with complete originality is what you can hear from the very first pluck of Eric Kamen’s signature modern take on traditional flamenco music.

A former New York City wall street executive, Kamen moonlighted as a hip-hop producer and became a multi-instrumentalist at a young age influenced by world music – this led to him creating and collaborating on unique projects with emerging rappers. His new-found fusion of flamenco guitar blended with hip-hop beats was electric and sparked interest in a mass following on Myspace when Kamen first uploaded his experimental side project and debut release, Native Unit.

Though world music and his European travels were a big impact on his signature Urban Flamenco style, Kamen’s teenage years spent in New York City idolizing rock and pop bands of the 1970’s built his repertoire from the musical melting of the city playing shows at the famous Café Wha in Greenwich Village.

With his latest release, Serenades is a current sound that is the perfect amount of dramatic beats and gypsy flamenco guitar that will leave you dancing and feeling good about the music. An eclectic set of fifteen songs, Serenades is the fitting soundtrack to a relaxing night, transferring listeners to a serene Spanish village. Featuring lead single “The Lost Tribe,” and stand-out tracks “A Rose From Russia” and “Red Moon.”

Serenades will be available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon and all major digital outlets on September 2.

Therapist Andrew Walen’s New Book is a Lifeline for Men with Eating Disorders

Man Up to Eating Disorders Shares Author’s Experience to Help Others Struggling with Body Issues

Columbia, MD, August 21, 2014 — Starting early in his childhood, psychotherapist Andrew Walen, LCSW-C, struggled with body image. The first sentence of his recently released new book, Man Up to Eating Disorders, available on Amazon in both paperback and e-book format, captures the shame he felt about his weight and appearance in a few powerful words: “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve struggled with thinking I am ugly and fat.” That shame led Walen to develop serious eating and body image disorders that lasted well into adulthood.

Walen, who founded The Body Image Therapy Center in Columbia, Maryland and practices psychotherapy there, wrote the memoir and self-help book to help other men and boys struggling with eating, exercise and body image disorders understand that they are not alone and that, with support, there is a way to overcome these issues. In the book, he shares his experiences with anorexia, binge eating, exercise bulimia, the underlying origins of these issues in his life and his process of recovery and self-acceptance.

“This book is to help guys come together, create their own tribe, talk recovery in their own language,” explains Walen. “Straight, gay, black, white, Asian, Hispanic, whatever your background – if it’s anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, compulsive exercise, steroid abuse or some combination of any or all of the above; we are all part of the same brotherhood. We are all dealing with the same core issues of belonging, perfectionism, control, identity, independence, and insecurity. The book is for all men looking for some way to break the shame cycle of their disorder and find real connection to themselves and their loved ones.”

In his practice, Walen specializes in working with men with eating disorders, substance abuse, body image issues, anxiety and depression. He has appeared on the Today Show and Baltimore/DC area TV and radio stations, as well as in the New York Times as an expert in the field of eating disorders. In addition, he is the author of numerous articles and leader of workshops on eating disorders, body image disturbance, exercise addiction, and binge eating disorder.

The Millionaire’s reality show is a hit with fans. It goes behind-the-scenes, capturing all the drama of the event.

San Diego, CA, USA (August 11, 2014) — PB Reality Show’s Episode 3 is getting rave reviews and Executive Producer, Jim Lawlor, a.k.a. the “PB Millionaire,” is very pleased about it. (Watch here: http://youtu.be/ZXZ3cmn9rc8)

The video is a behind-the-scenes look at the annual Miss Pacific Beach Contest with all the hilarious drama included. “I love each video more with each episode!” says Beth Kelsay-Embrey – a Facebook fan and follower on Youtube. Other comments on Youtube include: “Wow!” “Very cool!” “Love this show!”

About mid-point into the episode, Lawlor is seen presenting a large check to a local charity called “PhotoCharity” which helps the homeless youth here in San Diego. Lawlor is passionate about helping the homeless since he went through the experience himself years ago.

When Lawlor first arrived here to San Diego 22 years ago, he had to sleep in his car as he couldn’t afford his rent. He painted houses as a means to get by and, ironically, invented a pair of goggles for spray painting that made him a millionaire. (See Lawlor’s Bio: http://www.pbmillionairebio.com)

From living in his car to living in a castle here in Pacific Beach, Lawlor calls it “Living the California Dream” – which is the theme of the show. Viewers can now watch episodes at the network’s website: http://www.pacificbeachtv.com.

The show has a huge following on Facebook with 85,000 fans and counting (Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thepbrealityshow). LondonTown.com: Four exciting designers prepare to take over one of London’s best museums

The Design Museum’s Designer In Residence 2014 exhibition will explore the theme of Disruption as the annual event enters its fourth year. The exhibition encourages four rising designers to take over a gallery at the Design Museum in London Bridge and fill it with their most disruptive ideas between 10th September 2014 and 8th March 2015. These will include looks at housing, featuring hypothetical housing models for the city; law, exploring the eccentricities within the judicial system with props, drawings, maps and models; play, presenting an alternative archetype for the construction toy, moving beyond the familiar building brick and offering new possibilities in the form of simple cardboard discs that overlap, bend and join to create forms in an almost endless array of combinations; and finance, q uestioning our use of financial technologies with a new cash machine, currency and devices for credit card payments.

Alongside the Designers in Residence 2014 exhibition will be a series of events including sketching tours, designer talks, and evening socials. Bold New Book, Raising Supaman, Dispels Myths About African American Fathers

Insightful book, Raising Supaman, addresses common misconceptions about African American fathers and encourages all fathers to improve their parenting skills. Authored by tenacious entrepreneur Nathaniel A. Turner, the book is a valuable instruction manual for fathers who want to help their children dream, excel and succeed.

Carmel, IN (USA), August 1, 2014 — In a time when the African American community is often associated with negative statistics, a thought-provoking new book, Raising Supaman, dismisses many of the common misconceptions that people have about African American fathers and fathers in general.

“Raising Supaman provides readers with practical advice, proven methods and strategic instructions for assisting any parent or caregiver with helping a child dream and create a process to make those dreams a reality,” said author Nathaniel A. Turner, J.D.

So far, Raising Supaman—which was released in March—has received favorable responses from the public. The book earned a 5 star review from About.com and has been well received by various radio and news outlets.

Raising Supaman is a testament to the exemplary, hands-on parenting of Nathaniel, an African American father who overcame the challenges of growing up in the inner city in Gary, Ind. to become a successful entrepreneur with a dual master’s degree and a doctorate degree. And despite growing up without having a strong relationship with his father, Nathaniel resolved to focus on being an intentional, present and purposeful father to his son, Naeem.

Nathaniel has translated his experiences and insight into a number of products to assist other parents, including his new book, a blog, a YouTube video, a parenting course and mentoring curriculum. The Raising Supaman Academy and parenting apps are also under development. “Fatherhood is the best job in the world, but it is also the most challenging job I have ever had,” he said. “To that end, I believe the experiences that I have had combined with the wealth of parenting information that I have accumulated may serve as an instructional manual for those hoping to give their children the best they have to give.”

That’s what Nathaniel did when raising Naeem, whom he affectionately refers to as “Supaman.” Nathaniel did his best to foster a positive environment that would enable his son to fulfill his full potential. Consequently, Naeem is an amazing young man who has created an impressive resume throughout his life. Naeem, who works as a web designer and IT consultant, is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English. He recently authored a book entitled What Are We Gonna Do Today?, which will be released in August. The book seeks to encourage increased parental engagement and inspire early readers. This fall, Naeem will be attending Santa Clara University, where he will study computer science and engineering.

Naeem, 19, is a statistical anomaly who:
* began high school as a seventh grader and became a member of the National Honor Society as a freshman
* ranked among the top 1 percent in national academic measurements and was accepted in more than 20 of the nation’s top colleges and universities
* became an accomplished athlete who played soccer on three continents, including in two of Brazils top professional academies
* founded The Social JustUS League, which assists those who are underserved and underrepresented
* conducted an annual teen for jeans campaign and delivered care packages to the homeless
* traveled to San Francisco using his own money to learn about building sustainable institutions to care for the homeless (The Civic Week Project)

“I want to change the world,” Nathaniel said. “I want every child to have what my son had—the childhood experiences and accompanying tools that will give them a chance to dream and see their dreams be realized.”

Nathaniel maintains that America’s most fundamental societal problem is not schools, guns or drugs; it’s inept and unprepared parents. Children cannot pick their parents, he says, but parents have the wonderful opportunity to give children a chance to do better and be more than one could ever imagine. “The societal change that is needed in American communities, particularly urban neighborhoods, can’t be achieved through government legislation,” he said. “It can only be achieved by training parents to appreciate and honor the role of parents above and beyond any vocational title or position.”

Raising Supaman is a very timely book that every father should read, regardless of their race, socio-economic status or geographic location. For more information, call 317-706-6768 or visit http://www.raisingsupaman.com.
