Step into Nature: Nurturing Imagination & Spirit in Everyday Life

The New Book Published by Beyond Words/Simon & Schuster by Monterey County Author Patrice Vecchione Will Launch March 2015 Vecchione’s Book Tour for 2015 Announced

Carmel, CA, December 12, 2014 – Step Into Nature is a guide to make nature personal again, to stimulate awareness and increase our understanding of the environment while inspiring readers to develop and strengthen their imaginations. Being in nature doesn’t mean flying off to remote, faraway places. Nature is as close as opening your front door—the sky above, the miniature gardens that insist their way up between the sidewalk cracks, the river just down the road.

Patrice Vecchione shows readers how nature can support and enhance their own creative output, invigorate their curiosity, and restore their sense of connection to the earth. Plus, throughout the text Vecchione includes “Cabinets of Curiosities,” exercises and suggestions for practical and unexpected ways that readers can stimulate their imaginations, deepen their relationships with nature, and experience the harmony between creativity, spirit, and the natural world.

A “Baby Shower Fit for a Princess” Arranged by Edgar Perez, The Speed Traders, for Wife Olga

Edgar Perez, author of The Speed Traders, arranged “a baby shower to remember” for wife Olga as they gear to welcome their second child on January 2015.

New York, NY, USA (December 10, 2014) — Edgar Perez, author of The Speed Traders, arranged a baby shower for his wife Olga this past Sunday; as attendees to the event described it, the party was a “baby shower fit for a princess.” The party, hosted at their residence in Lindenhurst, New York, had a pink theme overall and there were “pink flowers decorations, pink-themed covered walls and a huge white and pink cake.” Guests went on further to describe the cake as gold type with traditional butter cream icing.

It sure looked like Olga’s baby shower couldn’t get too cute and pretty enough. But there’s another very cute thing about it; the games were to die for, as it can be seen through Perez’s Facebook page: http://on.fb.me/15Z41Mx. Creating the tallest cup tower, picking baby items while wearing a blindfold, and other classic games captured the attendees’ imagination.

Olga is just six weeks away from welcoming another future author, as Perez likes to point; the couple welcomed their first child, Edgar Felipe, early this year. A guest commented, “I’m not sure Edgar Felipe understands that Olga is pregnant. But they are talking to him about having a little sister. They’re making sure he’s prepared the best they can.”

Perez is widely regarded as the preeminent global expert and speaker in electronic and high-frequency trading. He is author of Knightmare on Wall Street, a minute-by-minute account of the terrifying hours following Knight Capital’s August 1, 2012 trading debacle, and The Speed Traders, the pioneering global introduction to the world of high-frequency trading. Perez was a vice president at Citigroup, a consultant at IBM, and a strategist at McKinsey & Co. in New York City.

Author Writes Book to Teach Children About Caring For Foster Animals

“The Adventures of Sir Buddy and Mr. Pupples – The Rescue”.

Kill Devil Hill, NC (USA), December 05, 2014 — Author Richard McEwan says that if you teach children how to care for pets, they also learn also how to care for people. That’s one of reasons why he recently wrote the children’s book “The Adventures of Sir Buddy and Mr. Pupples – The Rescue” newly released by Halo Publishing International. Inspired to write because of his grandchildren’s love of books and he and his wife’s love of fostering animals, the book introduces children to fostering a pet and tells a story of the rescue of a lost puppy.

“I hope that when a child sees a stray dog or cat, that they think about the story and how the puppy, Mr. Pupples, was found and saved,” says McEwan. “Once a child finds a stray animal, their next step is to immediately get an adult involved.”

An avid dog-lover who with his wife, Christie, has fostered about 50 dogs over a period of 5 years, McEwan is retired and cherishes their two dogs that they had originally fostered, and a cat that had been a stray kitten. He says fostering animals from your local animal shelter or SPCA is a good way to keep them from being euthanized.

“Pets are great companions. Not only are they fun to be with, they can help you get exercise,” say McEwan who enjoys taking his dogs for walks with his wife. “And, who loves you more than your dog?”

“I think children will love this beautifully illustrated story with a great message about pet care,” said Halo Publisher Lisa M. Umina.

You can purchase “The Adventures of Sir Buddy and Mr. Pupples – The Rescue” at http://www.HaloPublishing.com. It sells for $16.95. McEwan says he has written two more children’s books with the same two characters – Sir Buddy and Mr. Pupples. They will be released at a later date.

Biography:
Richard McEwan retired to the Outer Banks of North Carolina after a long career in sales, marketing and advertising. He lives with his wife, Christie, and their two dogs, Buddy and River, one cat named Oyster and many photos of foster dogs. Together, McEwan and his wife, have three children and four grandchildren. Singer/Songwriter Joseph Eid Announces The Release of Americana- Folk Album Human with a Genuine and Soulful Touch

Americana-Folk Singer/Songwriter Joseph Eid has announced the recent release of his first full studio album, Human.

Los Angeles, CA, November 25, 2014 – Americana-Folk Singer/Songwriter Joseph Eid has announced the recent release of his first full studio album, Human. Recommended if you like the Avett Brothers and Ray Lamontagne, Eid has been garnering considerable buzz with his music, recently being named as one of the 100 Hottest Live Unsigned Artists of 2014 by Music Connection Magazine.

VIEW/STREAM LATEST SINGLE, “SOMETHING REAL”

The album’s title track “Human“, displays the pastoral beauty, delicate guitar work, and intricate but relatable lyrics that have become Eid’s trademark. “Human” seamlessly blends sharp, melodic pop lyricism with traditional folk sensibilities evoking folk troubadours both past and present .

The album’s first single “Ready Now”, is propelled by a driving rhythm section , lush instrumentation and an instantly unforgettable hook. “Ready Now,” has surpassed over 20,000 views on YouTube and is the depiction of an animated version of Eid. The song tells a love story in which the man is confused about his beloved one. The storyline is lively presented by Eid’s gentle and narrative voice in the verse parts, and the passionate vocal harmony in the chorus increased the whole song’s intensity and meaning. The use of varied orchestra instruments also added a layer of dramatic effects to the song, giving it a more complicated and intriguing sensation.

Originally born in Liberia to Lebanese parents, Joseph Eid grew up in the suburbs of New York.  He was raised in a strict and traditional home where the arts were only supported as a hobby and never as a career.  During his college years, Eid studied psychology and pre-med but all the while, he was always dreaming about a potential career in music.  After his first semester at med school, the dream got too big to hold and Joseph made the bold choice of dropping out and moving to New York City to pursue music and follow his dream.  He joined a band, picked up a guitar, and the songs poured out like rain.  His journey led him to Los Angeles in 2007 where he started playing regularly at open mikes and showcases.  Shortly after, he began working with world-renowned guitarist/songwriter David Lamar, honing his songwriting at weekly showcases at the Stone Bar, leading the prolific singer/songwriter to write over 30 new songs as well as record his debut EP Cardiac Output.

Known as a dynamic solo performer, Joseph Eid has brought his cathartic one-man live show to many of Los Angeles’ premier music venues, including stints at Room 5 and El Cid.  He has held residencies at the following Hollywood venues:  The Stone Bar, Crane’s Hollywood Tavern, Room 5, and Bar Lubitsch.

Eid recently released a music video of “Something Real,” which is based on a personal experience that also happens to be universal with communication via technology and social media. A visually simple yet emotionally complex music video, “Something Real,” is meant as a commentary on our constant need to be plugged in and how this has changed the way we communicate as well as taken away the value and the weight of words and human connection.  This idea is demonstrated in the video as Eid sings to and tries to connect with lifeless, robotic people. The twist at the end of the video illustrates that no one is immune to the digital disease – including Eid.

Another piece of exciting news for the folk and country lovers is that Eid’s going to release a brand new video for the single “Hit me up” from the album “Human”. This particular song maintained his emotional and well-polished singing and song writing style, and at the same time experimented with country style guitar fill-ins. Every Eid’s video released so far, from the animated himself in ‘Ready now’ to the robotic crowd in ‘Something Real’, had shown an interesting, real-life related story and life lesson. This coming video of his would definitely be worth waiting for.

With Tappy Cricket, we didn’t just want to create another simulation style game. We wanted to gamify the whole social cricket experience so the anyone could play regardless of age. We wanted the Grandparents to be challenging the Grandkids.

Se we ended up creating a game with a really simple games engine, but bolted on a sophisticated stats engine to record all player details, just like in professional cricket.

What you have now is a game that is really simple to play, but difficult to master. But like cricket, the longer you play, the better you get and the more 100s you score and the better your average is.”

Tran Cong Than, Chief Technical Architect of Fruitful Technologies said: “We’re thrilled to finally get Tappy Cricket out to the public. The game is the product of the many hours of hard-work from our development team here in Vietnam. Tappy Cricket may look simple to play, but a lot of work has gone into getting the stats engine right and syncing up scores from both iOS and Android so that players can seamlessly compete with each other. We’re just getting started too. We’ll be introducing new worlds and new game modes in the coming months. We hope the players enjoy the game as much as we did making it.”

Jaguar ‘Trousseau Week 2014’ All Set to Celebrate the Diverse Cultural Beauty of the Traditional Indian Wedding

Presented by The Collection, UB City in association with Sublime Galleria and supported by the Prestige Group, Jaguar Trousseau Week 2014 will be on from 21st to 30th November 2014.

Bangalore, India, November 19th, 2014 — India is probably the only country in the world to boast of such a widely diverse population, comprising of people from different religions, cultures and communities. With varied traditional wear, rituals and customs, India is also considered an extremely colorful country, with more than two thousand ethnic groups, living together in unity. The 5th Edition of ‘Trousseau Week’ aims to celebrate the rich cultural diversity and traditions of the Indian wedding.

Presented by The Collection, UB City in association with Sublime Galleria and supported by the Prestige Group, Jaguar Trousseau Week 2014 will be on from 21st to 30th November 2014. The 10-day long wedding festival will provide all Wedding Planning, Design and Consulting needs under one roof, with the help of some of the trendiest international and national luxury brands in the world today on one hand, and Indian artisans and weavers on the other.

Sharing her thoughts on this year’s line-up of activities, Uzma Irfan – Additional Director, Prestige Group and Founder, Sublime Galleria said, “One of the most beautiful qualities of the Indian culture is that it is inclusive. The younger generation is not just limiting themselves to their own rituals and customs, but celebrating all traditions and festivals across communities as one unit. Also, with a rapid increase in the number of inter-religious and inter-communal marriages, people have started adopting the best from all cultures across the country. This year, ‘Jaguar Trousseau Week’ will focus on the rich culture and heritage that defines an Indian wedding, with special emphasis on the artisans who have helped keep our traditions alive by their contribution to the handloom/handwoven industry.

About Jaguar Trousseau Week 2014:
An Indian wedding today includes the most fun rituals from all cultures and is an amalgamation of activities leading up to the actual wedding. The ‘Sangeet’ ceremony, which was primarily a North Indian custom, has now found its place in every wedding across the country. And even though people have adopted the Western culture with fervor in India, what has remained constant is traditional clothes and jewellery, donned by everyone – family and friends alike, during the various wedding ceremonies. This year’s Trousseau Week pays a special tribute to the artisans who have contributed immensely to keep this industry alive. The festival will provide an opportunity to all visiting UB City to try their hand at some interactive weaving, guided by a weaver, at a handloom that will be installed there. Pragati Mathur – Textile Designer and Weaving Artist who is bringing this to UB City will also be available to accept orders for the elusive handloom/handwoven sarees, shawls, dupattas and wall textiles, etc. Orders can be placed on the basis of samples available for visual reference. In addition, Jaguar Trousseau Week 2014 will provide the best of wedding couture, wedding planners, designers, wedding photographers, banquets, tourism boards and international & national luxury brands, all on one platform.

This year’s theme is “The Traditional Indian Wedding” and the fluid expanse of The Collection, UB City will be transformed to complement this theme. The space will be accentuated with theme-based installations like an enormous wedding cake, a bejeweled groom pagdi, photo frame hangings, and an in-lit elephant sculpture. Smaller rituals will also be depicted using similar installations. For example, a giant groom mojri will be installed for the ‘Joota Chupai’ ceremony, larger than life kaliras will be installed to speak of the associated ceremony, and a decorated swing will be installed to signify yet another South Indian custom – ‘Oonchal’.

Lounges at Jaguar Trousseau Week 2014:
In its 5th Edition, ‘Trousseau Week’ has truly surpassed all previous benchmarks. With participation from stalwarts of the fashion design industry like Neeta Lulla, Raghavendra Rathore, JJ Valaya and Satya Paul, the event this year is a dream come true for brides and grooms to be. Now to plan the perfect wedding couture for their dream wedding, they will not have to travel to either Mumbai or Delhi. They can interact with the best designers in India and try out their latest collections, all in UB City. In addition, soon to be brides and grooms can also check out the sought-after F-Type and XJ models of Jaguar, which will be present at The Collection, UB City throughout the event.

Pamela Goodyer is now in the Gallery’s Artist Showcase

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is very pleased to announce that fine art photographer Pamela Goodyer is the gallery’s newest featured artist.

Jupiter, FL, USA (November 17, 2014) — Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is very pleased to announce that fine art photographer Pamela Goodyer is the gallery’s newest featured artist. She will now be featured and promoted by the gallery for the next 30 days.

Most people say they are passionate about photography. Pam will straight out tell you “I am an obsessive photographer”. When she is not working making money doing photography she is out doing her own personal landscape, wildlife and nature photography.

Pam is very well known for her dynamic images with brilliant colors. With a gift for perfect composition and the ability to find interesting subject matter she is able to create fascinating images that many call breath-taking. “When everyone goes to the right, you will find me to over of the left.” Perspective and unique angles makes her work stand out above others. She travels to many places that are highly photographed so she spends much of the time setting up her shots looking for an angle that no one else has ever achieved. “Hiking deep into the wilderness it is easy to get a unique shot but when you stand at Jordon Pond in Acadia National Park, you have to do something no one else is doing.”

Pam owns Extra Eyes Photo Tours and teaches her photography in many locations throughout the USA and Canada. She also has photography classes running in local parks in N.J. and N.Y. from April to November on the weekends. Several photographers work for her teaching classes. She welcomes all levels on her tours throughout the USA and Canada. Pam’s website is http://www.extraeyesphototours.com.
