About the event:
The event began with an elaborate breakfast spread at the Taj West End followed by the rally at 10.30am. The classics were then on display between 12-1pm at UB City.

The rally was flagged off by the Chief Guest for the event – Chief Minister, Shri DV Sadananda Gowda from Taj West End. The vehicles moved towards Cubbon Park, Kasturbha Road, MG Road, Trinity Circle – halting by Vivanta by Taj MG Road, proceeding towards Ulsoor Lake heading to Dickenson Road, Commercial Street, Brigade Road, moving to UB City, back to Tiffany’s Circle, Kasturba Road, Cricket Stadium, Raj Bhavan, Chalukya Circle, Bangalore Golf Club, Windsor Circle, Shivananda Circle, Race Course Road and finally entering back into Taj West End.

Nearly a hundred vintage cars and motorcycles participated in this rally. There were 57 classic four-wheelers and 17 conventional motorcycles in the parade.

Some classic vintages that were a part of this event were:
* 1909 Wolseley that belonged to the Maharaja of Cooch Behar
* 1961 Jaguar E-Type, which in March 2008, was ranked first in the Daily Telegraph’s list of the “100 most beautiful cars” of all times
* Jaguar Mk which also belonged to the Maharaja of Udaipur
* Other eye-catchers included the Mercedes, Austins, MGS, Ford Jeeps, Plymouth, Daimlers, Buick, Dodge, etc. which used to be the trademarks of maharajas and nobilities of yester years.

Indie Artist Alisa Boniello Releases Debut EP Lovestruck May 15th

NYC Based Singer Songwriter Prepares for Live Performance Premiere at Drom in NYC May 26

New York, NY, April 26, 2012 – Independent songwriter/singer Alisa Boniello is set to release LOVESTRUCK, her debut four-song EP on May 15, 2012. On the heels of the release, she’ll also make her premiere live headlining performance at the popular Drom nightclub (85 Avenue A, East Village) in New York, on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 7:30 PM.

LOVESTRUCK will be available via CD.Baby.com and its’ distribution partners digitally for $2.99. Boniello initially released the title track video, “Lovestruck,” at the top of the year, followed by the single on Valentine’s Day. She also filmed a live performance LOVESTRUCK VALENTINE’S DAY SPECIAL on Valentine’s Day online via sites like Cool Grrrls, PopYouLarity and Bella Online. The special featured three songs from her EP, taped with a live audience at Montana Studios in New York. She recorded her EP in the Fall of 2011.

Boniello collaborated with Grammy Award winning songwriter/producer Barry Eastmond (Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, Anita Baker) on co-writing all four songs, “Lovestruck,” a retro-soul/pop ditty, “(When Will) Love Feel Real,” a love saga, the whimsical ballad, “Why,” and the pulsating and edgy “That Kind Of Girl,” co-written and co-produced by Wendell Hanes, ( Mya, Cheri Dennis) and Dan Kramer. Eastmond also produced all the tracks except for, “That Kind Of Girl,” which he co-produced with Hanes and Kramer.

“I’m just discovering who I am as an artist,” admitted Boniello, “but I’m hoping that once people hear these songs, they’ll feel the joy I felt in writing and recording them.”

Boniello is a native New Yorker, who earned a BA degree in Classical Voice from Hunter College (May 2011). She’s been playing the piano since age 5, and over the past several years started cutting her teeth as live performer at open mic nights around the city, such as the Waltz Astoria in Queens, the Sidewalk Café, Desmond’s Tavern, and 169 Bar in Manhattan.

Dying Words Express Heaven’s Grace to Surviving Loved Ones

Heaven is All Around You, soon to be released by Halo Publishing International, is the story of little girl’s talk with God about death.

Houston, TX (USA), Friday – April 27th, 2012 — Finding the words to tell loved ones that you are dying is extremely difficult and truly something no one wants or is prepared to do. Author Lydia Esparra said her sister, Memby, did not have the words to tell her two daughters that colon cancer would cause her death only 15 months after being diagnosed with the often fatal disease. That meant Esparra needed to talk to her young nieces. Grieving herself for her closest sibling, just 11 months apart in age, that experience was overwhelming, she said. Her discussion became the inspiration for a book Esparra hopes will help others faced with mortality.

Heaven is All Around You, soon to be released by Halo Publishing International, is the story of little girl’s talk with God about death. “It was difficult watching my sister struggle for the words. She really felt she would be here for them and never considered dying an option” Esparra said. “I really want this to be a tool to help other people do what my sister was unable to say.” “I wrote it hoping my nieces would know that these were the words in their mother’s heart. They can see her and feel her presence all around them, as can I,” she said.

“I had a dream about sharing my sister’s story to help other people. I guess it was sort of a healing process for me. I just felt it was the right thing,” Esparra said. “These are words that have to be said, and I’m hoping my book can help people do that with their loved ones.”

A staff member at Hospice Services of America, LLC, said the book is a “great tool to help anyone in the position of losing a loved one.” “It’s very inspirational,” the oncologist said.

Publisher Lisa Umina said Heaven is All Around You is the type of book the company is proud to be part of because it helps people, particularly during a very troubling and confusing time. “I hope that this new book will assist those needing the most difficult words they could ever say to their loved ones,” Umina said.

A native of Youngstown, Ohio, Esparra is one of 10 children raised in a family with strong Christian beliefs. She said her parents are both natives of Puerto Rico and that her dad worked in the once booming steel mill industry while her mother was employed as a nutrition aide. They provided a loving home and encouraged and inspired their children to succeed. Esparra is a graduate of Youngstown’s Ursuline High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree in communications from The Ohio State University. She became a television journalist and now anchors the weekend news programs from WOIO in Cleveland, Ohio, where the author has resided for the past 15 years. She is an Emmy award-winning journalist known for compassionate story telling. Esparra and her husband, Greg, have been married for 24 years.

Long Island Authors Group holds book fair on historic grounds May 20, Noon – 4 PM.

Riverhead, NY (April 24, 2012) — Long Island Authors Group will hold the second in a series of Long Island Book Fairs for 2012 at Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, New York.

Featured are works by sixteen notable Long Island authors writing in fiction and non-fiction Adult, Young Adult, Children’s Books and Poetry. The authors will be selling and signing books, and guests are invited to chat with them about their books and writing careers. The rain or shine event is Sunday, May 20, Noon until 4PM in Periwinkles Garden Cafe in the Historic Hay Barn on the breathtaking grounds of the former Coe estate.
