Atlanta, GA (USA), July 05, 2013 — QASymphony ( http://www.qasymphony.com ), a leading developer of Quality Management solutions for software developers and QA testers, today announced the public beta release of version 3.0 of its popular qTrace screen capture tool for testers and software developers.

As QA departments continue to mature their testing methodologies, the need for agile testing continues to grow. This latest Beta release of qTrace includes full support for exploratory and session-based testing.

qTraceis a downloadable tool that tracks mouse clicks and page progression while enabling in-line annotation, note taking and submission to popular bug tracking systems. With its intelligent screen capture capabilities and step-by-step screen narration documentation, qTrace has been well received by the testing community with more than 12,000 downloads.

“We listened to the testersand met with the experts to build a solution that would truly work for agile testingand provide that ability to conduct rapid, yet effective, software testing in conjunction with traditional testing,” said Vu Lam, CEO, QASymphony.

Highlights of the qTrace 3.0 beta include:

* Session Charter – The ability to define the purpose of your test session
* Session Time – The ability to define the duration of a session and see the remaining time
* Session Time Usages – The ability to configure and define the types of time used during a session (i.e. setup time, testing, reporting, etc.)
* Comment Types – The ability to configure and define the comment types (i.e., bug, note, question, suggestion, etc.)
* Improved Workflow – The ability to perform continuous testing and submit all observations/defects at the end of a test session.

“qTrace 3.0 provides a bridge from traditional to agile. With its full support of exploratory testing, the new version provides the opportunity to augment your traditional, or waterfall testing, with more informal session-based testing,” said Lam. “In the rapid release environment of agile development, this need to address the full spectrum of testing is even stronger.”
