Social JobWorking Site offers Hints for Jobseekers

Jobosabe.com Recommends Locking Down Your Social Networking Profile.

Austin, Texas (February 17, 2012) — Jobosabe.com (pronounced Jah-Bo-Sah-Bee) ,the first locally focused “social jobworking” website, is launching a new program to educate job seekers on the proper way to position themselves on the web. The company recommends that candidates “lock down” their various social networking profiles to friends and family only.

“The biggest mistake that a job seeker can make today is to leave their social profiles open to potential employers. They cannot control what their “friends” post and often times innocent photos can be misunderstood, costing the candidate a job.” Noted Carl Braun co-founder and CEO of parent company Cross-Post LLC. “With jobs being at a premium these days you simply cannot afford to make a mistake you’ll likely never even know about. You just won’t get the job.” He added.

Jobosabe.com recommends the following:

1. Create a job profile summary on Jobosabe.com Its easy and free! Do NOT include your address, email or phone number or any other personal info. We’ll insert a link where employers can learn more about you or send you a DM to request additional info and resume.
2. Lock down your Facebook page for friends and family only. You can do that in the privacy settings.
3. Direct Employers to your Jobosabe.com profile summary.
4. Keep your summary employment related. Here’s a sample:
Hint: Avoid religious or political affiliations or any organization that may be considered controversial. Employers need not know your religious preference and specifying a political affiliation might work against you. Let employers judge you on your BFOQ (Bona fide Occupational Qualifications) and NOT your weekend activities.
5. Conduct a search for your name on “google” and see what shows up on the first or second page. if there is anything embarrassing do what you can to get it removed or consider pushing it off the first two pages by getting positive mentions on popular websites.
6. Use the Jobosabe.com blogging tools to write articles about your area of expertise. They will get you good PR on the web and employers will be impressed with your writing skills and subject knowledge.
7. Become a Talent Community Leader on Jobosabe.com in one of our many communities like Veterans, Green, or various Diversity focused Groups. If you don’t see one in your area of interest, START ONE! We give you the free tools. Connect with your local newspaper through their talent community as well.

More information and other job seeker features are available on the website at http://www.jobosabe.com.

The Smiling Guy at General Conference Went Viral With Some Help From His LDS Friends

The LDS online community, LDSFriends.com, created Internet posters around a few brief moments of a man who simply smiled at the cameras during General Conference. These posters were quickly passed around via email, blogs, Facebook, Tumblr and other social media sites, which helped create an overnight Internet sensation.

Salt Lake City, Utah April, 21, 2011 — It was a simple smile but thousands of members of the LDS church around the world saw it. Most smiled back at the TV, but many were too busy laughing. A campaign by http://www.LDSFriends.com publicized the smile by creating images that they coined General Conference Posters. The posters went viral on Facebook and other social networking sites within a matter of hours.

It started at April’s General Conference broadcast, during the last session on Sunday. A young man turned to face the camera and smiled. LDSFriends.com seeing the humor in his smile created posters displaying what he did, and asked their website readers and Facebook friends to submit captions.

The posters can be found at http://www.ldsfriends.com/general-conference-posters/.

Soon people started linking to the General Conference Posters, adding them as their profile picture on Facebook, and posting them on their blogs. One blog commenter shared, “I’m not sure whether the posters or the comments are funnier.” Many people also emailed the posters to their family and friends.

Paul Wilson, co-owner of LDSFriends.com, saw a considerable bump in his website traffic due to these posters. “The first day we shared our General Conference posters our site traffic went up by 2,000%. The second day we saw a 14,000% increase from what we normally get in a single day. Most of the people who visited our website in the first few days came from Facebook. However, by the end of the week we were getting visitors from all over the Internet.”

It was almost two weeks after the posters were launched that LDSFriends.com tracked down the man. His name is Dan Smith. LDSFriends.com interviewed him to find out what he was thinking and how he was able to time his smile so perfectly.

Smith, a member living in Australia, visited Utah to watch General Conference live. He says he didn’t mean to be disrespectful, but he did hear from someone at Church headquarters. “It wasn’t a prank. I got up out of my seat and saw my head on the two big screens and turned around and smiled. I didn’t think anything of it. I received an email from the big dog that is in charge of filming the general conference. They weren’t impressed. I didn’t do it to be funny, but glad people enjoyed it. I hope it wasn’t disrespectful, because I really enjoy all the talks at general conference. Just being in the same room with the prophet was awesome,” he said.

Intentional or not, Smith has become an LDS Internet sensation. He even received a marriage proposal from the Youtube commenter krispygirl15 who simply said, “I love you smiling guy!? Marry me!!!! :).” In seven words, four explanation points, and one smiley face this Internet user seems to highlight much of the magic and excitement behind Smith’s smile, and maybe offer a little insight at why it was so popular.

Love, H Style Is the Ultimate Herpes and HPV Social Networking Community

Love, H Style is helping people worldwide increase awareness about genital herpes, oral herpes, genital warts, and HPV. The free social networking community also gives members a unique opportunity to express their feelings, share stories, date and encourage others in the same situation.

Princeton, NJ, November 03, 2010 — People who live with herpes and human papilloma virus (HPV) can take advantage of an online resource that uniquely caters to their social networking needs and provides information about sexually-transmitted infections.

The resource, called Love, H Style, is a niche Website with an array of tools to help the global community of people with herpes and HPV connect and communicate with each other. Love, H Style offers a variety of communication options, including chat, email-like messaging, instant messaging, blogs, bulletins, event invitations, audio and video players. The anonymous, confidential and secure site is completely free to use. However, there is a nominal upgrade fee for members who would like to access all of the site’s features.

Love, H Style aims to provide friendship, dating, support, and information for the millions of people worldwide who live with herpes and HPV. It also strives to raise awareness of herpes and HPV among today’s sexually-active society. Many people carry these viruses and don’t even know it. They also don’t understand that herpes can be spread through oral sex and even while wearing a condom. That’s why Love, H Style’s owner, Monti Robinson, feels education is the key to prevention. He says: “We can’t afford to be ignorant about herpes and HPV any longer because they’re definitely in our society and can affect anyone. Love, H Style allows people living with herpes and HPV to know that they do have resources readily available to them and that there is a community of people who do care. Your life is not over just because you live with this virus, and you don’t have to be alone anymore.”

With thousands of users, Love H Style is rapidly gaining popularity as an important social networking community. The Website has an intuitive interface that makes it easy to use and enjoy. Unlike most other social networking sites, it also offers customizable features that allow members to truly personalize their online identity. They can customize their profile page with text, photos, video, background images and a wide range of colors according to their preferences.

Love, H Style allows users to meet others with a variety of backgrounds, interests and professions. Entrepreneurs can locate individuals who are interested in business; musicians can connect with other music lovers; and pet owners can find other pet lovers. Whether it’s for business or fun, Love, H Style is the ultimate place for people with herpes and HPV to discover others with common circumstances, interests and goals. “We want people to express how they feel-whether that be with anger or sadness-and to just be there to listen to somebody who’s dealing with this for the first time,” Robinson says. “We want people to tell their own stories to help others to cope as well.”

For more information about the social networking community, please contact Monti Robinson at 609-731-3831 or visit www.lovehstyle.com.

About Love, H Style:
Love, H Style was created to provide an avenue for people worldwide to share their feelings about having genital herpes, oral herpes, genital warts, and HPV and to raise awareness about these viruses. The social networking site was established nearly four years ago by Monti Robinson, who contracted the herpes virus from an ex-girlfriend. After combating feelings of sadness and depression, Robinson decided to create a caring social networking community to help others in a similar situation. Today, Lovehstyle.com is a valuable resource that encourages members to talk, share stories, date, express how they feel, and (indirectly) help other people who are just like them. Love, H Style is also helpful for the partners and families of individuals with Herpes and HPV, as well as support groups, managers, counselors and medical professionals. A privately-held company, Love, H Style is based in Princeton, N.J.
