Author Believes He Has An Answer to the Healthcare Crisis

Releases book, “Physician Leadership: The Rx to Healthcare Transformation”.

Tampa, FL (USA), March 18, 2015 — Healthcare Expert Mo Kasti says his mission in life is to transform the healthcare industry through physician leadership. With the healthcare crisis continuing i.e. higher costs, care fragmentation and physician dissatisfaction, he believes the answer to the healthcare crisis is physician leaders delivering more High Touch than High Tech. That’s why he wrote the book, “Physician Leadership: The Rx to Healthcare Transformation” which hits the shelves March 15, 2015.

Stimulated by the Affordable Care Act, health care organizations are shifting from focusing on volume (fee-for-service) to one that is value-based (better quality at lower cost). For such a shift to be successful, physicians need to lead the efforts to increase efficiency, clinical quality and reduce cost. A recent study found that hospitals with the greatest clinician participation in management scored about 50 percent higher on important drivers of performance. Physicians, however, are typically not formally educated on leadership.

“Organizations that effectively develop their physician leaders have demonstrated better results,” says Kasti, the CEO and founder of The Physician Leadership Institute (PLI), an organization that develops leaders. To get out of the healthcare crisis, physicians need to first see themselves as leaders and not just clinicians, inspire their teams’ hearts as human beings and not as just human doings, lead change strategies, and deliver transformative results”. Kasti has been coaching, teaching, researching and studying “physician leadership” for 25 years.

This book dives into the Kasti’s framework of physician leadership. It also explains the genesis of a leadership vacuum, highlights the symptoms facing physicians and healthcare organizations and provides real-life case studies with proven results.

“This book is an invitation for healthcare administrators to realize the need to engage physicians in leadership,” says Lisa M. Umina, publisher of Halo Publishing International. “It’s also a book that helps physicians understand what it means to lead the future of healthcare.”

Mo Kasti is the CEO and founder of The Physician Leadership Institute (PLI) specializing in empowering physicians to engage and lead the healthcare transformation. Previously, as the Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for USF Health College of Medicine, he facilitated the integration of the colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, and the USF Physicians Group into USF Health, an entrepreneurial academic model promoting collaboration for better health. Prior to joining USF, Kasti held successful leadership roles at General Electric Healthcare, the #1 market leader in diagnostic equipment and services, and the company synonymous with business leadership.

IAPAM Announces Next Aesthetic Medicine Symposium Dates: April 5-6

The IAPAM has announced the next dates for its respected Aesthetic Medicine Symposium: April 5-6, 2014 in Scottsdale, AZ.

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA (February 20, 2014) — Obamacare promises to make changes that will hopefully help the masses, but clearly there are a number of challenges that physicians will face as a result. However, medical practices can thrive by adding ‘non-insurance based services’ to their portfolio, such as dermal fillers, botox injections, anti-aging treatments, non-invasive body sculpting, and medically supervised weight management. To assist physicians in profitably adding these procedures and programs to their practices, the IAPAM has announced the next dates for its respected Aesthetic Medicine Symposium: April 5-6, 2014 in Scottsdale, AZ.

There has been much talk in the media and physician community regarding the Affordable Care Act, well known as ‘Obamacare’ or the ‘Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’ (PPACA). Many physicians members are concerned about how this new program will impact the health of their patients and the health of their medical practices.

However, there is evidence that by adding non-invasive treatments to a practice, such as botox, dermal fillers, microdermabrasion/microchanneling, chemical peels, body contouring technologies (e.g. skin tightening, fat reduction), lasers for skin rejuvenation/tattoo removal/hair removal, and medically supervised weight management programs (e.g. hCG Diet), would increase the income a practice is able to make as payments will have to be made directly and immediately to undergo these procedures.

To support physicians seeking both clinical and business training in adding these aesthetic modalities, the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine (IAPAM) designed its Aesthetic Medicine Symposium to give physicians all the information, forms, DVDs, hands-on training, etc. they need to begin offering aesthetics when they finish the conference.

The IAPAM is the only complete program that offers:

– An Accelerated program; physicians and their staff can be certified over a weekend;
– Clinical training DVDs to take back to one’s practice;
– Board Certified Dermatologists as instructors;
– Internationally Recognized Certification;
– CME (Continuing Medical Education) credits;
– 1 Year of Practice Support (which continues as long as one is a member);
– And much, much, more!

“The IAPAM has noticed a sharp increase in the registrations for its cosmetic procedures hands-on CME training programs like botox/fillers, lasers, medical microdermabrasion, and non-invasive body shaping; along with its medically supervised weight loss program, all of which are not insurance covered and affect a majority of their existing patients,” says Jeff Russell, Executive Director of the IAPAM (http://www.iapam.com). “Patients may not get the long term benefits of a face lift, but with a combination treatment of botox, dermal fillers, weight loss, etc. they can get a great result at a fraction of the price.”

IAPAM Announces First of its 2014 Symposium Dates: February 8-9, 2014

The IAPAM announces the first of its 2014 dates for its respected Aesthetic Medicine Symposium with botox training, in Scottsdale, Arizona: February 8-9.

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA (December 17, 2013) — The IAPAM’s guiding principle is enRICHing Physicians Lives, and its goal is to support physicians who are seeking business education, may be over their heads with student debt and now, with reduced insurance reimbursements, are looking for cash-based modalities to add to their practices and to add to their bottom lines. To address this need, the IAPAM’s Aesthetic Medicine Symposium was specifically designed as a “one-stop” program to add non-insurance based medical procedures to a practice, or to start a new medspa. The IAPAM announces the first of its 2014 dates for its respected Aesthetic Medicine Symposium with botox training, in Scottsdale, Arizona: February 8-9.

Lower insurance reimbursements are causing pain points for the physicians, and they are looking for other sources of revenue, just to break even. To support physicians seeking training in aesthetic modalities, the IAPAM’s Aesthetic Medicine Symposium was designed to give physicians all the information, forms, DVDs, hands-on training, etc. that they need to begin offering aesthetics when they finish the conference. As well, it is important to understand that botox is not a profit centre, just a gateway to make money with other aesthetic procedures. Only the IAPAM’s Symposium teaches physicians about this principle ….. no one else is offering this competitive intelligence.

The IAPAM is the only complete program that offers:

• An Accelerated program; physicians and their staff can be certified over a weekend;

Today, the IAPAM announces the dates for its next Aesthetic Medicine Symposium in Scottsdale, Arizona: September 14-15, 2013.

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA – July 4, 2013 — With all the talk of Obamacare and reductions in insurance reimbursements in the US among physicians, it is more important than ever to educate physicians that they cannot just offer botox if they want to make money. They need to offer all the top 5 minimally-invasive procedures coupled with a weight loss program. The IAPAM’s Aesthetic Medicine Symposium was specifically designed as a “one-stop” program to add non-insurance based medical procedures to a practice, or to start a new medspa. Today, the IAPAM announces the dates for its next Aesthetic Medicine Symposium in Scottsdale, Arizona: September 14-15, 2013.

The IAPAM’s Aesthetic Medicine Symposium was designed to give physicians all the information, forms, DVDs, hands-on training, etc. that they need to begin offering aesthetics when they finish the conference. As well, it is important to understand that botox is not a profit centre, just a gateway to make money with other aesthetic procedures. Only the IAPAM’s Symposium teaches physicians about this principle….. no one else is offering this competitive intelligence.

Indeed, while this is nothing new, but offering non-insurance based procedures is more on the top of the minds to physicians lately, and the IAPAM understands this. The IAPAM is the only complete program that offers:

– An Accelerated program; physicians and their staff can be certified over a weekend;
– 19 training DVD’s to take back to one’s practice;
– Board certified Dermatologists as instructors;
– Internationally recognized Certification;
– CME (Continuing Medical Education) credits;
– 1 Year practice support (continues as long as a member); and much, much, more!

“More patients are turning to the more inexpensive non-invasive procedures rather than surgical cosmetic procedures,” says Jeff Russell, Executive Director of the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine (http://www.iapam.com). “They may not get the long term benefits of a face lift, but with a combination treatment of botox and dermal fillers, then can get a great result at a fraction of the price.”
