PB Millionaire Jim Lawlor Victim of Fake News

Lawlor Says: “Fame Comes With A Huge Price”.

San Diego, CA, USA — There was a time, not long ago, when people would read the newspaper or watch a reliable TV Network to get their news. Not anymore. New York Times Reporter, Michael Lynch, wrote an article called: “Fake News and the Internet Shell Game” in which he outlined how the internet has created a platform to deceive readers into believing “fake news” for the purpose of swaying public opinion. Lynch reported: “It was…the year of ‘fake news’ in which pure fiction masquerading as truth (like posts that claimed Hillary Clinton used a body double and Pope Francis had endorsed Trump) may have spread wide enough to influence the outcome of the election.”

But this deception game is not only used for political purposes, it is also widely used as means to sway public opinion about a public figure. Famous people today are plagued with so-called “haters” who in their twisted thinking become obsessed with someone famous and try destroy that person’s character. Often times they have never even met the person that they try to defame, yet they paint an unbecoming picture of the person whom they “hate” to get the public to believe their point of view, and in doing so they use “pure fiction” as well.

Jim Lawlor – also known as the “PB Millionaire”, has been a victim of these fake news stories. One example is a so-called news story on the internet that claims that the PB Castle – Lawlor’s home, was in foreclose in 2008 and that he was going to lose his house. Someone even said: “Foreclosure is imminent.” The truth is that Lawlor was suing his mortgage company because he was told his mortgage was a fixed rate but, in fact, it was a variable rate and his mortgage was going to double that year. Lawlor’s lawyer advised him not to pay his mortgage as a means of leverage against the mortgage company. It worked. Lawlor won the case which settled out of court and he got the rate he wanted as well as a fixed rate. He made well over a million dollars that year and had plenty of money to pay the mortgage but choose to take his lawyer’s advice and was thereby very successful in getting the kind of mortgage he wanted. The mortgage loan was in default at the time but the house was never in foreclose. However, if one were to read this fake news story, one would think he had no money and was going to lose his house. And that’s what the writer of this fake news story wanted you to think.

There are more than a dozen false news stories like that one on the internet about Lawlor with the intent to defame him. If you did a background check on the “PB Millionaire” you would find nothing. So why is there such a disparity of the truth herein an article on Oprah.com written by: Helen Fisher, PhD, called “Jealousy – the Monster,” Fischer wrote: “Why do we feel jealousy? Therapists often regard the demon as a scar of childhood trauma or a symptom of a psychological problem. And it’s true that people who feel inadequate, insecure, or overly dependent tend to be more jealous than others. And if you can’t stop spying or obsessing (and many of us can’t), it’s time to consult a mental health professional.” Unfortunately, those mentally ill people have computers and unleash their rage on unsuspecting celebrities.

The PB Millionaire is a true rags to riches, success story here in San Diego. After graduating from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, he found himself in the midst of a recession and painted houses as a way to get by. It is then he envisioned his invention for a new type of safety goggle for spray painters. After getting a patent, he started his goggle business in 1991 and within a few years, annual sales were over one million dollars. His company continues to grow each year. Lawlor says: “I was naive to think that one day if I became successful, people would look up to me and would want to know how I became successful so they too could be successful. I didn’t realize how many angry people are out there in the world. Fame comes with a huge price because once you are famous you become a target for all the crazies out there.”

But Lawlor doesn’t feel inclined to hate back. “I only have compassion for those who suffer. I experience bliss because of my daily meditations. Those who have hate in their hearts are experiencing suffering. We should never feel anything but compassion for those who suffer – it’s just inappropriate.” And when I asked Lawlor how it affects him when he reads these hateful remarks, he said: “I don’t even read the stuff. If within the first sentence I see that it is hateful, I just delete it off my screen. I’m a very happy person but I feel sad for those people who choose to waste their lives hating others. If they put the same amount of time and effort into a business or working for a good cause, they would probably be happy too.”

Lawlor created “The PB Reality Show” about six years ago which depicts his nouveau riche lifestyle as a millionaire living in a castle here in Pacific Beach – a beach community within San Diego. It is then when all the Perez Hilton wannabe’s began their cyber attacks on his character. But there are way more fans than haters. The PB Reality Show Facebook page has over 80,000 followers (http://www.facebook.com/thepbrealityshow) who have nothing but praise for Lawlor. Debby Prater, a Facebook fan said: “You truly are a very special man. To give so much to so many others, and not merely materialistic things. But straight from the heart. Thank you, from the bottom of mine, for making this world a better place.” Rachel Andrei Buntyn said: “I have been a fan for over 4 years and continue to look up to you because you are a one of a kind person. You are a man of God and do God’s work by giving to the less fortunate all the time. I would love to meet you one day, I have always bragged about you on my timeline. You are such a beautiful human being. May God continue to bless you, Jim.”

Before he became wealthy, Lawlor was very involved in a world peace project that helped end the Cold War between the then USSR and the USA and was on the Today Show, CNN, and the major network news stations. (See http://www.pbmillionaire.bio). Now that he has money, he finds he can do a lot more to help people in need. Most of his employees and even former employees speak highly of him using adjectives like: “thoughtful,” “caring,” “easy-going,” “funny,” “knowledgeable.” Lawlor is multi-lingual and is a scholar of history. He has read many books on American History and is often quoting one of our Founding Fathers. He now devotes much of his time giving back to the community through his charities with a special emphasis on helping the homeless here in San Diego. He likes to make what he calls “Homeless Survival Bags” filled with foodstuff, water, juices, socks, and sweaters. He then personally drives around San Diego handing them out with his staff.

“I’m not going to apologize for being successful. Thomas Jefferson once said: ‘I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.’ – I agree.”

Pacific Beach’s New Reality Show Makes A Big Splash

The PB Reality Show Is Now On The Air.

San Diego, California (February 23, 2012) — About 200 people stood in line at the Ultra Star Cinemas at Hazard Center to watch the very first episode of the PB Reality Show. After three years of filming and re-filming in the midst of cast changes and theme changes, the show finally premiered. Jim Lawlor, executive producer and one of the stars of the show is very pleased with the feedback. (See video: http://youtu.be/oKtnCe31W8o)

The audience was asked to answer a questionnaire immediately after the showing and the comments were overwhelmingly positive: “Overall awesome!,” “Fun and funny,” “It was very good,” Great! I loved it and laughed a lot,” “It was dramatic and entertaining,” “I…liked the momentum and flow of the show,” “Pretty cool how it was based on my hometown – San Diego,” “A solid 9 out of 10.” “I was pleasantly surprised. I think you have something here.”

Lawlor, also nicknamed the “PB Millionaire,” is an inspiration to those going through hard times. When he first arrived here to San Diego 20 years ago, he had to sleep in his car as he couldn’t afford his rent. He painted houses as a means to get by and, ironically, invented a pair of goggles for spray painting that made him a millionaire. (See Lawlor’s Bio: http://www.pbmillionairebio.com)

From living in his car to living in a castle here in Pacific Beach, Lawlor calls it “Living the California Dream” – which is the theme of the show. He not only is the star and executive producer, but owns the network called Pacific Beach TV that airs it. Viewers can now watch episodes at the network’s website: http://www.pacificbeachtv.com

The show has a huge following on Facebook with 50,000 fans and counting (Facebook: “The PB Reality Show”). Lawlor and his entourage are constantly recognized wherever they go around San Diego sometimes making it difficult to film.

When asked what he has in store for future episodes, Lawlor said: “More fun!”

Who Will Be Miss Pacific Beach 2012? The Search Begins…

The search is on for Southern California’s most beautiful and benevolent bikini models!

San Diego, CA, March 30, 2011 — The search is on for Southern California’s most beautiful and benevolent bikini models! San Diegans will get a chance to meet some of the lovely contestants Friday, April 8 from 5 – 9 p.m. at Pacific Beach Bar & Grill. It’s all a part of “The PB Reality Show” ( http://www.pbreality.com ) – a new Pacific Beach-based production that not only is dedicated to entertainment, but also to raising awareness and funds for charity. The “Girls of the PB Reality Show” will be selling their 2011 calendar at the event with all proceeds going to Photocharity™ ( http://www.photocharity.org ), which is currently the only local organization working to help the 4,000 plus 18 to 24-year-old homeless youth in San Diego County.

Although the launch party will be on Friday, April 8th, the actual Miss Pacific Beach Contest will be held later this year. Various competitions will take place in the next several months in the form of bikini contests, fashion shows, and selling calendars for charity. It is a process of qualifying and eliminating, all leading up to the final event. Judges will be looking for contestants who exemplify beauty beyond the pages of the calendar. In addition to being featured in next year’s calendar, finalists will be awarded scholarship opportunities and prizes, including the Grand Prize for the winner of $3000! Miss Pacific Beach 2012 will be a community ambassador, promoting several of the local charities “The PB Reality Show” sponsors.

“The PB Reality Show” is currently in production filming the behind-the-scenes drama of all these various competitions, including the making of the bikini calendar. The show also showcases the lifestyle of Jim Lawlor – a self-made-millionaire who is funding the Miss Pacific Beach Contest. Locally known as the PB Millionaire – a nick-name he was given that he can’t seem to shake (he prefers Jim), Lawlor lives in a castle overlooking the Pacific Beach area of San Diego, the backdrop for his TV show. His millionaire lifestyle is quite a contrast to when he first arrived to “America’s Finest City” twenty years ago. He spent several nights sleeping in his car, or on the beach, soon after moving here. After inventing a pair of spray painting goggles in the early 90’s, he is now living the “California Dream” – the theme of his TV show.

Lawlor now devotes a lot of his time giving back to the community as a philanthropist, which is also a part of the show. Many of the competitions amongst the Miss Pacific Beach hopefuls involves raising money for his favorite charities.

The PB Reality Show’s Much Anticipated Bikini Calendar Launches Into Cyberspace

The hottest reality show to hit Southern California since The Hills, the PB Reality Show releases its official bikini calendar today, much to the delight of its rapidly growing fan base.

San Diego, CA, February 28, 2010 — The hottest reality show to hit Southern California since The Hills, the PB Reality Show releases its official bikini calendar today, much to the delight of its rapidly growing fan base. The calendar is now available online at http://www.pbreality.com and features the area’s most stunning bikini models.

The calendar is just one aspect of the show, according to Jim Lawlor, Executive Producer and star of the PB Reality Show. ( http://www.pbreality.com ) Although the show is primarily about Lawlor’s lifestyle as a self-made millionaire, it is also a behind-the-scenes look at the making of his bikini calendar and all the drama that happens along the way. Known locally as the PB Millionaire, Lawlor lives in a castle here in San Diego in a community called Pacific Beach, or “PB,” where he is famous for his lavish parties and charity events that have made headlines.

The calendar features some of the finalists from a bikini contest held by Lawlor last year at Typhoon’s Saloon in PB. The first place winner of that contest, Shannon, earned $1,000 and a guaranteed spot in the calendar. Lawlor plans to have multiple bikini contests this year, which will culminate to a “Miss Pacific Beach Contest” with the grand prize: a whopping $3,000! Since contestants have more at stake, viewers can expect even more competition that translates to more drama, cat fights, and scandalous behavior. All this is Lawlor’s formula for great TV.

The PB Reality Show ( http://www.pbreality.com ) will certainly appease eager San Diegans, who have persistently flooded Lawlor’s inbox subsequent to the series’ advanced screening demanding the release of more to satisfy their hunger for the tantalizing, real-life drama that has fans so addicted. In response to his instant hit, Lawlor said, “I have never seen such a massive fan base materialize over night! The bikini models and cast members of the show are constantly getting recognized all over the city.”

Although Lawlor has yet to release his new reality series, he already has achieved a surprising amount of local fame, evidenced by the head turns and whispers everywhere he goes. When he first arrived in San Diego twenty years ago, he did not even have enough money for rent and, on several occasions, had to sleep on the same beach he now uses as a back drop for his show. He invented a pair of spray painting goggles that made him millions and now gives back to the community with his various charitable causes.

Lawlor announced today that his next bikini contest will be held in late spring and invites “Miss Pacific Beach 2011” hopefuls to submit entries by applying online at http://www.pbreality.com/calendar/index.php. Auditions and test shoots will be selective, so contestants are encouraged to submit their best photos to pre-qualify for the contest.

PB Reality Show Postpones Series Debut, Taking On New Direction To Satisfy Fans

Executive Producer and star of the PB Reality Show says he will release the show, but was not specific about a date.

San Diego, CA, February 22, 2011 — After more than two years of filming, the PB Reality Show didn’t air as planned on January 31st. Jim Lawlor, better known as the PB Millionaire, Executive Producer and star of the PB Reality Show ( http://www.pbreality.com ) says he will release the show, but was not specific about a date. Ever the perfectionist, he says, “we have had so many parties and events that we have not been able to focus on editing. We have acquired an enormous amount of footage, so much so that capturing all the tantalizing drama in just one episode has become problematic.” The show has had two sneak previews over the years with positive reviews, but he says he is, “responding to what people say they like, and we’re going in that direction.”

Showcasing his lifestyle as a self-made millionaire living the California dream, he has a team of attractive assistants, or social secretaries, whose main job is to “fight boredom.” One of those assistants was Crystal Harris, who is now engaged to Playboy’s Hugh Hefner. The show also gives viewers a behind the scenes look at the making of his bikini calendar. Lawlor is often seen around town with these bikini models, who are also part of the show.

Born in Pennsylvania, Lawlor’s father worked for the FBI, his mother worked as an ER nurse. Lawlor would tinker as a child making model rockets, airplanes, and even building his own go-cart. His family moved to Iowa, where he attended college first majoring in Art, but then switching to Business.

When Lawlor moved here to San Diego 20 years ago, he had very little money and found it difficult finding employment despite his college degree. He painted houses to get by and admitted to sleeping in his car on occasion.

Ironically, while painting a house one day, he came up with an idea for a pair of spray painting goggles, which made him millions.

This rags to riches story from first being penniless to now living in a castle here in Pacific Beach is why he is known as the PB Millionaire. He now helps the homeless here in San Diego. One of his favorite charities is called “Photo Charity” ( http://www.photocharity.org ) which focuses mainly on the homeless youth.

This is all reminiscent of a millionaire of another era, Howard Hughes, who spent years making the film The Outlaw in a time when films took a matter of weeks to make.

A new video preview of the show will be released, however, in the next few months called “The Making of the PB Reality Show.” According to Lawlor, it will highlight the filming of the past two years with, “some outrageous, scandalous shi*!”

Now Engaged to Hugh Hefner, San Diego’s Crystal Harris Was Once Linked To The PB Millionaire

The latest gossip here in San Diego is that Jim Lawlor, nick-named the “PB Millionaire”, was seen with Crystal Harris around town in 2008.

San Diego, CA, January, 25, 2010 — Gossip, gossip, gossip! What we would do if we couldn’t gossip? The world would probably seize to exist. Well, the latest gossip here in San Diego is that Jim Lawlor, nick-named the “PB Millionaire“, was seen with Crystal Harris around town in 2008. Although Lawlor claims it was a purely platonic “working relationship”, photos are floating around the internet that seem to suggest it was, perhaps, a little more than that.

Harris met Hefner at a Playboy Mansion Halloween Party in 2008. Earlier that same year she was seen at Lawlor’s PB Castle, here in San Diego, at both the Super Bowl Party and the St. Patrick’s Day Party. Lawlor is quoted on his website saying niceties about her having worked for him and wishing her the best. However, some insiders who were at those parties saw them together “really enjoying each other’s company”.

Lawlor is the Executive Producer and the main star of the new San Diego-based “PB Reality Show” ( http://www.pbreality.com ) to air sometime this year. He is known for throwing lavish parties in much the same style as the Playboy Mansion. He is often seen with an entourage of beauties when he is spotted around town at various night clubs. He was seen on New Year’s Eve at Barfly in La Jolla with about ten of his bikini models and staff members who all seemed to attract the attention of the patrons there.

On his birthday last December, Lawlor was spotted pulling up at Fluxx in his large limo bus decked out with a stripper pole and a most convenient bathroom inside. On the side of the limo bus read: “The PBM’s Magical Birthday Bus”. His tab was over $4000 according to someone at the club and “he only stayed a few hours”.

Lawlor purportedly arrived in San Diego some 18 years ago penniless and actually homeless for awhile. He has claimed to have slept in his car on several occasions soon after arriving here. He invented a few products now on the market that made him millions. He was reported on KUSI news last fall giving to a local charity that helps the homeless youth of San Diego in an effort “to give back to the community” as he says.

So were Crystal Harris and the PB Millionaire ( http://www.pbreality.com ) more than just friends? I guess we’ll have to make our own conclusions since as of press time Lawlor had not returned our calls.

A San Diego Reality Show’s Sneak Preview Makes A Big Splash Helping The Homeless

The PB Reality Show as it’s called, gave the world a peek of the first episode in an exclusive advanced screening at Moondoggies in Pacific Beach last week and the reviews are in.

San Diego, CA, October 14, 2010 — It’s not often you see scantly clad bikini models and homeless people on the same TV Show. Even more curious is how one man who once slept on the the beach is now a millionaire making a bikini calendar on that same beach. Known locally as the PB Millionaire, Jim Lawlor’s latest brainchild is a reality show based on his new lifestyle of living in a castle and the behind-the-scenes drama of making a swimsuit calendar.

The PB Reality Show ( http://www.pbreality.com ) as it’s called, gave the world a peek of the first episode in an exclusive advanced screening at Moondoggies in Pacific Beach last week and the reviews are in. Over 200 people stood in line and were handed questionnaires as they entered. Despite some technical problems with the club’s sound system the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

When asked who the most interesting character was, many said Jim. “Because he went from sleeping on the beach to living the California Dream”, Eric White wrote. “I can’t believes what he’s done. It’s a great idea.”, wrote an anonymous person. Another said “Jim- because he has a charismatic persona.”

When Lawlor first moved here to San Diego some 18 years ago the only money he had was in his wallet. Although college educated, he found it tough finding work in a bad economy at the time and had to paint houses just to get by. Ironically, he invented a pair of painting goggles for spraying that made him a millionaire. Now he has devoted his life to giving back with his main focus – helping the homeless of San Diego. “I admit I have an ulterior motive” Lawlor says. “Viewers are drawn in by the beautiful bikini girls then I re-direct their attention to the homeless issue. But I also want to give them genuine entertainment too.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ1VM3Q6xkA

When the show began with it’s opening of music and scenes of Pacific Beach, the audience cheered with excitement and pride for their hometown. And when the show ended they jumped out of their seats in applause, clapping, cheering, and shouting in praise.

“I felt it was very real and it grabbed my attention right away”, said one attendee. “Interesting in a way that is a new kind of reality show”, said another. When asked what they felt was best about the show one said “That it was filmed right here in San Diego”. Many others answered with “The beautiful girls”. “Good concept – bust the “O.C.” and “The Hills”!! – Ashley I. wrote.

The exclusive premiere event had a dual function; the spotlight was shared with a local charity, Photo Charity (http://photocharity.org ), which is devoted to helping the homeless youth of San Diego. Part of the show actually shows Jim helping the homeless. “…Giving away money is genuinely generous of that man”, somebody said. Jim matched the contributions made to charity that night.

When asked if asked if they would watch the show if it was aired on television, most said “YES!”
