Online laptop supplier sees increase in sales as market declines

October 30, 2010 – While larger computer retailers are finding it hard to stay afloat with tighter margins than ever and a decline in consumer spending, cheap online laptop retailer Val-U-Computers.co.uk has seen a recent increase in sales leading up to the festive season.

Google Insights data reports that searches for laptop related terms are around 20% lower in 2010 than they were in 2009, indicating a decline in consumer interest. Despite this decline, Val-U-Computers.co.uk is seeing an increase in sales due to attractive prices and personal support.

Val-U-Computers.co.uk specialises in professionally reconditioned and refurbished laptops costing around 30% less than the equivalent new laptop. For people looking to save money in this unstable financial climate, this proposition is very appealing.

Trevor Gedge, managing director of Val-U-Computers.co.uk states; “The majority of people who buy laptops from us are looking for something that can be used for everyday tasks such as internet access, email and word processing. New, expensive machines are simply not required for these basic tasks, and money is wasted on features that may never be needed. We have also found a niche market for refurbished laptops with ports not found on new laptops. This market has helped to provide Val-U-Computers.co.uk with a constant demand for Cheap Laptops throughout the year.”

Val-U-Computers.co.uk has been trading since 1993 but moved the business online in 2000 when the internet started to become mainstream in British homes. By reacting quickly to changes in the industry and the changes in the way laptops were being used, Val-U-Computers.co.uk was able to successfully thrive in a fiercely competitive market.
