“JoJo The Dorky Dog” First in Stillwater Farm Adventure Series

Author Amy Hannah’s Dog Tale Focuses on Message of Belonging.

Blackshear, GA (USA), August 19th, 2016 — Everyone wants to belong including JoJo, the Dorky Dog and featured hero of this enchanting tale of adventure to find his forever home. The first in a series of dog tales, in this story JoJo is searching for a home to call his own and a little boy to love.

“We all want to be part of something and to feel like we belong,” said author Amy Hannah. “JoJo is the perfect misfit that everyone can love and relate to. Each story explores a different message of love, friendship, family and faith and in this first story JoJo discovers a home at Stillwater Farm.”

Amy Hannah has a special place in her heart for children of the foster care system, and she understands that feeling of needing to belong. She believes in God’s plan for us, that we are never alone; God is always there for us. Her Stillwater Adventures are a way to share this hope and love with all children.

Hannah worked for the Department of Children and Family Services for ten years and saw first-hand, the impact some single parent and split families had on children who just wanted a home; a place to feel welcome and of value. Hannah incorporates her faith in God and His message of love and family into each Stillwater Adventure. The Stillwater farm gleans its name from Psalm 23 “he leadeth me beside the still waters.”

“There is something so delightfully engaging about this dorky dog,” said Lisa Umina, founder and publisher of Halo Publishing. “You can’t help but root for him as he explores the town and forest on his way to finding his home. The story and illustrations are classic fun and the Stillwater Adventure series is sure to be a must-have on every children’s bookshelf.”

A unique feature to each of the Stillwater Farm Adventures is the “Questions to Ponder” section at the end. The questions are designed to help young readers with comprehension as well as wonderful conversation starters between parents and children.

JoJo The Dorky Dog is available in paperback for $10.95 from Amazon and Barnes and Noble. A portion of every sale of the Stillwater Adventure series will be donated to children’s ministries.

Storytelling Mom and Grandma Creates Children’s Adventure Series

Alyce Joy Rininger is ready to release Ka-Boom, the first in what she hopes to be a series of books about Sprunetta Brunetta, a fairy nicknamed “Sprout” from the fictitious town of Spritesville.

Houston, TX (USA), Tuesday – July 17, 2012 — For decades, Alyce Joy Rininger has been writing and telling tales to her children and now grandchildren. The Ohio woman said she was in grade school when she discovered how much she loved to write. Rininger is ready to release Ka-Boom, the first in what she hopes to be a series of books about Sprunetta Brunetta, a fairy nicknamed “Sprout” from the fictitious town of Spritesville. Ka-Boom will be available through Halo Publishing International.

“I hope every child who reads my stories will look forward to each new adventure as Sprout becomes entangled in many, outrageous happenstances,” Rininger said.

“This is a delightful character and a wonderful story for families to share,” said Publisher Lisa Umina. “Rininger’s book will be enjoyed by many as they fall in love with little Sprout.

The author and her five siblings grew up in Akron, Ohio, where their father worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. Rininger graduated from Kenmore High School and found employment at a few different Akron companies before meeting her husband, Arland, at a roller skating rink. The couple owned and operated Valley View Lake Park Recreation Area, a swimming and camping facility, for about 20 years.

The author said her husband encouraged and helped her get a booklet of original prayers published at an Akron-area printer and numerous copies of Priceless Gems were sold. She loved writing so much that she enrolled in a long distance learning course from the Institute of Children’s Literature located in Connecticut. And now, years later, she’s focused on creating a variety of story lines involving Sprout.

“I’m ready to fly,” she said. And, Rininger is again getting plenty of encouragement and help from her family and friends, particularly a daughter and granddaughter who have assisted her with learning new computer skills.

She recently presented Ka-Boom to educators and children in the Highland Local School District near her residence in Sharon Center Township, a rural community west of her hometown.

“This is a charming book that incorporates a magical fairy, adventure and a great message about having a positive attitude,” said Sharon Center Elementary School Principal Connie Marzullo. “This is a perfect bedtime story that is bound to be a real page turner.”

Rininger plans to share Ka-Boom with her high school graduating class who will host a book signing. She also is scheduling book signings at area libraries and schools.
