Advanced Data Systems’ MedicsDocAssistant™ EHR Receives Quest Diagnostics Quality Solutions Certification

Advanced Data Systems (ADS) announced today that MedicsDocAssistant v. 7.0 is certified as a Silver Quality Solution by Quest Diagnostics under Quest’s Health IT Quality Solutions™ Program (the “Program”).

Paramus, NJ, USA (June 12, 2014) — Advanced Data Systems (ADS) announced today that MedicsDocAssistant v. 7.0 is certified as a Silver Quality Solution by Quest Diagnostics under Quest’s Health IT Quality Solutions™ Program (the “Program”). Quest Diagnostics is the world’s leading provider of diagnostic information services.

As a certified Health IT Quality Solution, ADS and MedicsDocAssistant have been recognized by Quest Diagnostics as meeting or exceeding advanced industry standards for health IT quality and for providing a streamlined, interoperable solution that enables secure clinical laboratory ordering and results reporting through Quest Diagnostics connectivity solutions.

Quest Diagnostics created the Health IT Quality Solutions Program to collaborate with providers of electronic health record (EHR) and other clinical technologies to achieve optimized levels of clinical and operational quality for the benefit of physician practices, hospitals and integrated delivery networks. The Program is designed to maximize data quality and data and business process interoperability between Quest Diagnostics and select EHR solutions that meet Quest’s high standards.

David Barzillai, President of ADS, said, “We take pride in working with Quest Diagnostics and in being able to have our MedicsDocAssistant EHR attain certification as a Quest Diagnostics Silver Quality Solution. In addition to that, MedicsDocAssistant v. 7.0 is certified as a complete EHR for Stage 2 Meaningful Use, and excellent for a wide range of primary care and specialty practices of any size.”

To be eligible for the Program, an EHR solution must have an approved and commercially viable interface to Quest Diagnostics web services Data Exchange Service which processes both lab orders and results.

An EHR solution can then qualify for one of three certification tiers-Silver, Gold, or Platinum-by meeting an increasingly stringent and comprehensive set of criteria related to EHR solution functional capabilities, implementation processes, and other mutually-beneficial business activity.

“Certified vendors have clearly demonstrated their commitment to helping healthcare providers use technology at the highest levels of quality and process excellence in order to meet a growing set of challenges relating to information technology, regulatory requirements, and industry demands,” said Keith C. Drake, Ph.D., Quality Solutions Program Executive, Quest Diagnostics. The focus of ADS on quality and lab interoperability validates their leadership in the marketplace.”

Advanced Data Systems and Merge Healthcare Partner to Provide Optimized Interoperability for Physician Communication and Workflow

New iConnect® Network partnership with ADS delivers real-time clinical data directly into referring physicians’ EHRs enabling increased referrals while satisfying regulatory requirements and reducing costs.

Paramus, NJ, USA (May 13, 2014) — Advanced Data Systems Corporation (ADS), a leading provider of healthcare automation including MedicsRIS™, MedicsDocAssistant™ EHR for Radiology, and MedicsPremier™ PM, today announced a new strategic partnership with Merge Healthcare Incorporated (NASDAQ: MRGE), a leading provider of clinical systems and innovations that seek to advance healthcare. Integrating Merge’s iConnect Network with ADS’ MedicsRIS will enable the referring physician communities of ADS’ radiology clients to receive and view exam results and diagnostic quality images (using a diagnostic display) as well as other critical patient information as transmitted from within MedicsRIS.

This type of advanced interoperability between radiologists and providers results in decreased duplicate tests and radiation exposure, improving patient outcomes and increasing physician satisfaction. It also reduces the cost of care and helps the radiology practice’s referring physicians attest for Meaningful Use Stage 2’s (MU2) imaging requirements by receiving real-time access to viewing critical diagnostic information directly into their EHR, including imaging studies.

“Traditional methods of information delivery between our radiology clients and their referring physicians will be dramatically improved with the integration of MedicsRIS and Merge’s iConnect Network, enabling referring physicians to receive radiology reports and patient images directly into the referring physicians’ EHRs, regardless of which EHRs they use,” said David Barizillai, President of ADS. “The transmitting and sharing of these studies to caregivers is revolutionized using the iConnect Network. This type of technology benefits everyone including those who are the most important: the patients themselves.”

“We are excited to build a new strategic alliance with ADS. Partnerships such as this are critical to iConnect Network’s long-term success, as they provide new opportunities for both adoption and growth of the service,” said Justin Dearborn, CEO of Merge. “With this new collaboration in place, we are broadening the market reach of iConnect Network so more providers can build their referral relationships, improve physician satisfaction and ultimately enhance the patient experience across their communities.”

ADS Debuts Comprehensive Primary Care (CPC) Initiative MedicsDocAssistant™ EHR Dashboard

ADS Positions Woodbridge Medical Associates for CPC Initiative Success.

Paramus, NJ, USA (July 24, 2013) — Advanced Data Systems (ADS) announces an innovative Comprehensive Primary Care (CPC) initiative dashboard for its MedicsDocAssistant electronic health record (EHR) system that automates reporting for reimbursements through Medicare’s CPC initiative program. CPC offers financial incentives to primary care practices in designated states and regions that meet criteria for enhanced care coordination. The ADS dashboard automatically tracks and reports on all required criteria needed by the practice to achieve CPC initiative compliance.

Lillian Greco, practice administrator for Woodbridge Medical Associates (WMA) (Woodbridge, NJ) and an early dashboard user notes, “The ADS built-in CPC initiative dashboard is extremely well thought-out and valuable. It is helping us track CPC initiative requirements effortlessly and today, we are well positioned for CPC initiative success. I am very familiar with the marketplace and have not seen many other systems with MedicsDocAssistant’s CPC capabilities.”

Ms. Greco notes that all four of WMA’s physicians received Stage 1 Meaningful Use (MU) Medicare incentives using the MedicsDocAssistant EHR. Unlike MU requirements which apply to individual physician reporting, the CPC initiative requires practice-wide reporting, making compliance significantly more complex.

WMA has been a MedicsDocAssistant EHR user since 2006. The practice also uses the Medics practice management (PM) system from ADS for billing, EDI, scheduling and reporting. “The EHR and PM from ADS operate as a single, unified solution covering WMA’s business and clinical requirements,” noted Ms. Greco. “Our practice also used MedicsDocAssistant EHR to attain NCQA-recognition as a Patient Centered Medical Home.”

“Primary care practices that are interested in the CPC initiative, or those that are having difficulties in doing so with their current EHR, should consider MedicsDocAssistant EHR. It is an excellent system for capturing and reporting Clinical Quality Measures (CQMs) for both the Meaningful Use (MU) program and the CPC Initiative,” Ms. Greco said.

David Barzillai, President of ADS, said, “It is gratifying to know that WMA, which is a very progressive practice as evidenced by their desire to become compliant with the CPC initiative and by their PCMH status, has been able to use systems from ADS to help achieve both. We congratulate WMA and consider it a privilege to be working with them as their automation solutions provider.”

Over 30,000 providers rely on interoperable systems from ADS.

Woodbridge Medical Associates, P.A. (WMA) was founded in 1954 with the goal of providing high quality medical care to the Woodbridge community. The group has since grown into one of the busiest internal medicine practices in the area. WMA offers medical care in general internal medicine and gastroenterology and has received recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). WMA is constantly seeking the most advanced medical techniques to best serve its patients’ needs. WMA’s physicians are on staff at JFK Medical Center and the Perth Amboy division of the Raritan Bay Medical Center. WMA can be contacted by calling 732-634-0036 or by emailing info@woodbridgemed.com.

ADS MedicsConnect™ Automates Transmission of Radiology Reports for Easy Upload to Any EHR

New Advanced Data Systems’ Tool Speeds Electronic Exam Results to Referring Physicians in Vendor Agnostic Format.

Paramus, NJ (July 9, 2013) — Advanced Data Systems (ADS) introduces MedicsConnect, an innovative new tool that automatically transmits radiology reports to referring physicians in a vendor agnostic HL7 format compatible with any electronic health record (EHR) system. The new technology eliminates the need for implementing multiple costly, customized HL7 interfaces, representing a potential cost savings of tens of thousands of dollars for radiologists. Working conveniently from within a radiology information system (RIS), the unique application transmits reports over the Internet to a medical practice’s static IP address using secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) to ensure data safety. Referring physicians can configure their EMRs to automatically download the data to the appropriate patient file.

MedicsConnect supports a radiology practice’s marketing efforts by providing an important extra level of customer service. Reliably and seamlessly, it offers referring physicians convenient access to reports, while eliminating the costs to radiologists of implementing customized HL7 interfaces to accept inbound data at key referrers.

“Hartsdale Diagnostic Imaging has been relying on the radiology solutions from ADS for years for comprehensive, easy-to-use automation tools for management, financials, and radiology EHR. Now with MedicsConnect, we have greatly solidified our referring physicians with its ability to deliver our radiology reports directly to their EHRs,” says user Joseph Casoria, Practice Administrator, Hartsdale Diagnostic Imaging in Hartsdale, NY.

According to David Barzillai, President of ADS, “MedicsConnect is almost effortless from the radiologist’s point of view. In just a few mouse clicks, completed reports are transmitted with the highest level of security in a format any referring physician’s system can read and archive. Finally, sharing electronic radiology reports really is that simple.”

Barzillai points out that with MedicsConnect, communicating electronic reports is as streamlined as faxing and as important a development as automated faxing was 25 years ago. The innovative tool makes it practical and cost-effective for radiologists to provide all the advantages of EHR-compatible radiology reports to referring practices of any size, even to independent practitioners.

MedicsConnect comes integrated into the ADS MedicsRIS™ and is also available as a stand-alone application for integration into any radiology practice’s RIS solution.

About Advanced Data Systems: Advanced Data Systems (ADS) is a leading provider of automation solutions to radiology and medical imaging practices of every size and scope, as well as to radiology revenue cycle management companies. ADS’ MedicsRIS™ is a powerfully comprehensive yet affordable system currently integrated with numerous PACS. Using the company’s MedicsDocAssistant™ EHR for Radiology, a large number of radiologists have obtained Stage 1 Stimulus Act financial incentives. The system is specifically designed to capture medical imaging-related data needed by radiology practices to achieve EHR Meaningful Use (MU). ADS provides timely implementation, comprehensive training and excellent ongoing U.S.-based customer support with updates such as ICD-10 and Stage 2 MU.
