Wine Room Highlights:

Twisted Roots King Suite

Twisted Roots believes in letting the grapes speak for themselves. They feel that the work in the vineyard is where the wines get their flavor and overall complexity. As “Green Growers” they follow sustainable farming practices throughout the entire wine making process. In creating the Twisted Roots room, winemaker Josh Ruiz took the same philosophy to design as he does to making wines. Canvas pictures from the Twisted Roots vineyard adorn the walls, custom artwork made from barrels, rod iron and wine bottles show case the bar and more!

Ventana Vineyards:
Ventana Vineyards believes great wines are made in the vineyard, and the Ventana Vineyard has the perfect combination of water, soil, climate, art and science to create superb, world-class wines. Our success is evidenced by the number of awards that we have won over the years on wine made from this remarkable property. In fact, wines from our Ventana Vineyard have earned more medals and awards than any other single vineyard in America. When creating their Ventana Vineyards wine themed room they brought the story of the vineyard to the room.

· Custom canvas prints grace the walls telling the story of the vineyards.
· The winemaker’s story can be found on the room for all to enjoy.
· A Ventana Vineyards wine barrel has been converted into a custom snack bar full of delicious Ventana Vineyard logoed snacks and wine!
· The bed has a logoed throw and the walls have actually small vines from the vineyard affixed to them.

J. Lohr:
Flavorful wines, quite literally “wines full of flavor” are the mission at J. Lohr. J. Lohr’s unwavering focus on flavors sounds so simple, yet it’s surprisingly complex. Achieving the best flavor demands total control, every step of the way, and is the result of planting each site to its ideal grape variety and applying artisanal winemaking techniques, including extended maceration, barrel and malolactic fermentation, among others. When you stay in the J. Lohr room you soak up the flavor of the vineyard. From grapevine wreaths and a barrel on the balcony that offers the perfect table top to enjoy some wine and cheese to art from the vineyard and a custom J. Lohr wine display, you will as if you have been transported to the vineyard.
Additional Rooms with Unique Features:

· McIntyre Vineyards brought in a 5 foot vine from the vineyard that is the masthead for the bed as well as created custom glass lamps etched with the McIntyre wine label. Truly spectacular to view!
· Cima Collina has their vineyard artist create custom painting for the room made from wine barrels and rod iron as well as creating their own logoed bed side stand.

Amenities:
· The Inn offers breakfast daily and wine tasting on the weekends.
· Wines that are typically available only in partner wineries’ tasting rooms are also available to guests for purchase.
· Guests can relax with a glass of wine around the inviting fire pit in the garden and enjoy live music. (available most weekends)

Monterey County Wine Facts:
· Did you know? Monterey County is the one of the largest wine growing and producing regions in California which is one of the reasons why it was named as one of 2013’s “Top Ten Wine Travel Destinations” in the world by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
· In Carmel-by-the-Sea alone, you can spend a weekend wine-tasting without ever getting in a vehicle!
· Downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea has become a bona fide wine tasting destination, with enough tasting rooms to keep visitors busy for a weekend and even more about to open.
· Carmel Valley’s tasting rooms (11 miles from Carmel-by-the-Sea) are not overly crowded and provide a warm, personal interaction with tasting hosts and winemakers.

Artist Fawn Rogers “I Love You And That Makes Me God”

Amid the bustle of the Paris Photo VIP Opening at Paramount Studios, I sat down with artist Fawn Rogers for a chat about her new installation, works currently on view, and the crossover of public and private dialogue in art.

Los Angeles, CA, June 11, 2014 – TG: I recently had the chance to check out your installation of ten new works at The Bank showroom in downtown L.A. Can you tell us a bit about that installation?

FR: The Bank is a powerhouse space, and Jeannine Braden is great to work with. I’m excited to be showing work there, both from the Visible Light series and a couple of new paintings.

TG: In the area known as “The Vault” you have two large canvasses on either side of the entrance to a walk-in vintage bank vault. Can you tell us a bit about those works?

FR: Those two works are the first canvasses I’m showing publicly from my new project, “I Love You And That Makes Me God.” One of the elements of the new work is interaction with settings of potential worship, including financial.

TG: What other locations are you using for this work?

FR: Anyplace that houses an object of worship is fair game. Strip clubs, churches, vice-driven advertisements, etc.

TG: How does the public art interact with the video installation you’re creating?

FR: In some ways it’s a reaction. The level of intimacy of the video project is so intense, so personal, that it demanded an opposite response. This project encounters dialogue at the direct one-on-one level, and as an indeterminate public conversation.

TG: Some of those settings – strip clubs, cathedrals – might be seen as a bit controversial, right?

FR: Sure. But again, the goal of the project is to invite dialogue, not to impose meaning. Unless I get the chance to project it onto the walls of the Vatican. [Laughs]

TG: With a central statement as provocative as “I Love You And That Makes Me God,” faith, or belief, has to be part of the conversation in some way.

FR: It’s been a ride to explore.

TG: What is your experience of the faith aspect of the work, personally?

FR: The Bible, Torah, Quran – books of science? They’re texts of pervasive cultural impact. The project is not about religion, at least not in any conventional sense.

TG: What shape is the video installation aspect going to take?

FR: I’m working right now on developing a few different models. One is a small-scale installation box, designed with interior monitors and mirrored glass. The viewer approaches by putting their head inside the box to view the work. It’s very intimate, and meant to be a bit uncomfortable. The second model is a large-scale design, with dual-monitor projection spanning a space of about 800 cubic ft. It’s technically involved.

TG: You’ve mentioned a lot of social themes in conjunction with the project. If you had to summarize the work, what is “I Love You And That Makes Me God” about?

FR: I look forward to you experiencing the installation and letting me know.

Fawn Rogers is an American visual artist. She currently resides in Los Angeles.

“These first responders are typically the first people a policyholder sees after disaster strikes and are an incredible source of comfort,” says Christine Washburn, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Enservio. “In working with the industry’s top carriers, we were stunned, humbled and honored to hear of the efforts many claim professionals took on behalf of their policyholders. ‘Making it Right’ shines a light on the character, patience and resiliency that these professionals show every day while servicing customers.”

Security First Insurance Vice President of Claims Eva Mowry says, “We are responding to people when they are going through one of the worst times of their life. We minister them through the chaos. We are their rock to hold on to.”

Similar to law enforcement, EMS and fire departments, claims professionals and adjusters may put themselves in harm’s way while servicing a call. Yet unlike fire and police personnel, adjusters go largely unrecognized. In many cases, they too face dangerous and threatening situations. By showcasing these professionals, the hope is that the videos will change prevailing attitudes and have a positive influence on how the public perceives the insurance industry as a whole.

Says Claims Network Manager Trevor McDonald of The Main Street America Group: “You can’t change the bad stuff that happened. You can’t change that they’ve lost things. What you can change is how they feel going through the process of restoring, and I think that’s where the connection is.”

Claims Manager Otto Kieslich of Universal North America, says, “Give them what the true meaning of an insurance policy is. It’s to protect them. It’s to help them… it’s to make things right.”

Enservio encourages the industry to freely share the “Making it Right” videos with their colleagues and customers on websites, YouTube and other social media channels. Toward this objective, some carriers plan to use the videos as training to new employees and for motivational purposes.

Balance Energy Introduces their First Product for customers who want to bring Balance to their Lives

Balance Energy, a new natural health supplement company has just announced the release of their first product.

Clearwater, FL, June 05, 2014 – Balance Energy, a new natural health supplement company has just announced the release of their first product. The company just introduced their Garcinia Cambogia product which now stands as the firm’s initial offering in the appetite suppressant supplement space. A company spokesperson revealed the new product and commented that, “Garcinia Cambogia is a much talked about supplement, but we feel that our version will appeal to those who want a natural and effective weight loss supplement that also helps restore balance to everyday activities.”

The company decided to start with a Garcinia Cambogia product because weight loss is often the main focus for those who turn to supplements. The Balance Energy Garcinia Cambogia is made from all natural Garcinia fruit and when used as a supplement, that fruit is often helpful in reducing appetite, preventing fat storage and speeding up metabolism. Some even suggest that Garcinia Cambogia is helpful in reducing cholesterol levels, boosting the immune system and even helping prevent ulcers.

Balance Energy points out that consumers interested in Garcinia Cambogia should seek out a version that contains at least 50% HCA, which is the active ingredient in Garcinia Cambogia. The best results come when users take the supplement 30 minutes before each meal along with eight ounces of water.

Balance Energy is a family-owned business, managed by individuals that believe in the power of all natural foods and ingredients to promote a healthy lifestyle. The philosophy that the company promotes is that issues arise and things go wrong, but an all natural diet and supplements can work to bring balance to life when those issues arise. The Garcinia Cambogia is just thet first product offered by Balance Energy and company officials have announced that several more all natural supplements will be available in the near future.

The Balance Energy Garcinia Cambogia is available now and can be purchased directly from the company’s website. More information is available by visiting http://www.balanceenergy.org and company representatives can be reached via the embedded form on the site’s “Contact Us” page.

Mountainsong Galleries in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, is committed to representing more OPA and AIS credentialed Master Artists than any gallery in the world

Mountainsong Galleries announced today they will be the only gallery in the world to carry Kevin Macpherson’s Reflection on a Pond Series. Mountainsong Galleries has announced that the entire series – all 368 paintings – is now available for acquisition for $1.75 million.

Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA, June 04, 2014 – In August 1996, Kevin Macpherson conceived of a series of paintings. The term “series” is perhaps too modest a description for what came to be called the Pond Project.

This is not simply a group of works on a theme, nor a one year exploration of a single subject. Rather Reflections on a Pond was conceived as a physical challenge and psychological adventure in which a view out to a nearby pond would be documented on canvas at different times of the day and night, in all seasons. It took five years to complete.

Kevin describes the “Reflections on a Pond” series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=O1DnVSLIAJw#t=0

“This was a five year painting project that is definitely the legacy of my work. The series sums up what my work is all about — light atmosphere and color. I believe painting the space between me and the subject, because of the persistence and dedication to complete a series such as this is, is indeed unique. This series of work is extremely personal and the sums of the parts are greater as a unit. It would have been very easy to sell off the pictures one by one but it is an important collection that says more as a whole,” said Kevin MacPherson.

Although he knew change was at the heart of the project, Kevin held several elements constant. Each painting was done on a 6 by 8 inch panel. His palette was consistent, and he remained faithful to the reality of the scene’s compositions.

While the series is about seeing as an artist, it takes its substance from feelings. Interwoven with Kevin’s eye is his heart. Emotions emerge in the paintings and echo in his commentary.

Viewing the 368 paintings, either in the book or at an exhibition, heightens our awareness of the subtleties in nature we often overlook and emotions we repress.

“The magnificent series of 368 paintings is a portrait of a year in the life of a pond: 365 days, the last day of the century, and the first day of the new millennium. But in reality, it is also a portrait of Kevin Macpherson—artist, husband, teacher, and member of the human race. You know this not only by looking at the paintings, but also by reading Macpherson’s journal notes.” said Jean Stern, Executive Director of the Irvine Museum.

In many ways, Macpherson’s Pond Series is a visual documentation of a journey into the Spiritual significance of being an artist. The pond is much more than a subject recorded throughout one year. It is a reflection of one year of life that defines all individual years of our lives. The pond is Macpherson himself, but it is also you and I. The Pond Series represents a speculation on life that gives meaning to the passage of time. It celebrates that passage in statements of color and form, of light and atmosphere.” Where is the beginning quote and who said this?

Kevin’s own reflections on the series provide more insight. “I did the Reflections on a Pond series for me. One painting led to another, to many, and eventually to the series. My visual objective has rewarded me with much more. It has led to a record of my thoughts in color, a vocabulary I’m more familiar with than words. This is my visual diary.”

“My intention is for you, the viewer, to take a moment to wander through the paintings in no specific order. Look a little deeper, a little longer, pausing to see similarities and differences. Free your mind to explore. Perhaps you will venture somewhere unexpected.”
