Scott Rajavuori Serves with the ‘Life Hurts God Heals’ and ‘Midwest Challenge’!

Scott Rajavuori has always had a heart for the youth at his church. After years of doing junior high ministry he has felt led to a new program that works with kids who are going through “stuff”.

Savage, MN, November 28, 2011 – Scott Rajavuori has always had a heart for the youth at his church. After years of doing junior high ministry he has felt led to a new program that works with kids who are going through “stuff”. The Life Hurts God Heals program reaches out to kids who need a “real” environment that they can open up in and talk about life. Having gone through his share of bumps, bruises, and bad choices both as a kid and adult Scott feels he can relate.

The first few weeks of involvement have been awesome as he has had the opportunity to connect with his new friends.  Scott says, “It is amazing when you put time aside and volunteer with kids how your effort to help others actually almost does more for you. It heals my hurts, seeing how God can use my past “junk” to minister to others.” GO GOD!

Scott Rajavuori was led to the prison and recovery ministry through his own experiences.  Often in life we ask God “why”? When the real question is “how”? God promises to use the things the devil meant for bad for his Glory and Good. Scott sees how healing happens in his own life and others when we take the ugly stuff of life and use it to help others to show them they can get through it if they just hold on. Scott has been spending time as both a mentor at different programs as well as life coaching and different half way houses and really likes the relationship he has with Midwest Challenge.  Midwest challenge is a program that really follows through on the mission statement and what they believe. You see many men fail when you are dealing with guys either coming from a life of chemical abuse or prison.

It is so awesome when you see a guy in a life changing program like Midwest Challenge start making good choices and you are there to be part of it. There is little better than seeing God glorified through a changed life and that comes from a man who’s life has forever been changed!

The Danish Rock Band Dead Smiling Pirates Release a New Single from the Upcoming Album

Dead Smiling Pirates Release the New Single “By The End Of” on December 2th.

Copenhagen, Denmark, November 26, 2011 – Dead Smiling Pirates used in autumn 2011 focus groups from SoundOut to determine the quality of the tracks for their upcoming album “Harvest On A Hype.” Focus groups identified three potential singles. The band has chosen to release one of them as the first single. “By The End Of” is going to be released on December 2th.

Dead Smiling Pirates hails from Copenhagen, Denmark. The three pirates set sail on the musical oceans for a life of music piracy in 2006 and released a debut album in 2007. This power packed trio plays catchy alternative rock filled with an eclectic mix of influences highlighted by lots of tight breaks, trashy guitar riffs, and punk influenced vocals. They back up their sound with attitude focusing on the irony of life, and lyrics about egoism, ethics, and beyond.

The leadsinger Kim Burmeister says “Dead Smiling Pirates plays alternative rock and sounds like something between Paramore, Blink-182, Linkin Park and Metallica”.

Their motto “Release Your Inner Pirate” gives a hint of their ironic and challenging mindset. This take on life is bound to appeal to young and old alike, with the prerequisite being your own punkrock like attitude and undying nonconformist view of life itself with dead aim at the modern day corporate establishment. If you feel this way join the club and give this indie band a good listen. You are invited to take a voyage on their private ship of musical delights.

FRA welcomes Indian minister’s Commitment to Forest protection

Forestry Research Associates (FRA) has spoken out in support of the Indian Environment Minister, Jayanthi Natarajan’s calls for measures to cut forest degradation in the sub-continent.

Bainbridge Island, WA, November 25, 2011 – Forestry Research Associates (FRA) has spoken out in support of the Indian Environment Minister, Jayanthi Natarajan, who has opened the Forest Congress event taking place in New Delhi with calls for measures to cut forest degradation in the sub-continent.

FRA, a research and analysis consultancy, said it welcomes the statement of intentions from Ms Natarajan, who, it claimed, seemed committed to improving the situation in India.

She did not skirt around the subject of forest degradation, instead opting for a direct approach, telling delegates attending the Forest Congress that the loss of forested land is taking place on an “unprecedented scale”. She called for some major changes to take place to remove the bureaucracy that prevents measures being implemented. The minister stated, “We need to completely reform our infrastructure so that it can be geared up to face these important challenges.”

“I think we need to reorient our institutions,” she added.

She explained that the introduction of strict forest management policies should be a major part of the changes taking place to try to protect the precious assets that are India’s natural forests. FRA agreed, adding that countries like Brazil have seen a positive reduction in deforestation levels through government policy as well as measures to encourage foreign investment in sustainable forestry schemes.

Sustainable plantation schemes, like those run by Greenwood Management in Brazil, provide alternative timber to the valuable native timbers found in Brazil’s vulnerable rainforests. Investors can invest in these projects and reap the benefits financially and with the knowledge that they are investing in an ethical programme.

FRA claims that India is a demanding example as the people themselves are putting increasing pressure on the forests. The organization’s analysis partner, Peter Collins, stated, “In developing countries it’s important to raise awareness among the people that there is value in standing forests as well as in timber.”

An Improved way to Find Cheap Car Insurance for Young Drivers

Cheap Insurance Locator has redeveloped their car insurance comparison system for young drivers, allowing them to save even more money on their insurance quotes.

Fulham, London, November 25, 2011 – Cheap Insurance Locator has redeveloped their car insurance comparison system for young drivers, allowing them to save even more money on their insurance quotes.

With the help of the countries top insurance providers, they can help our young drivers on the roads to get cheaper car insurance quotes by offering a simple and easy to use quote form that instantly delivers results for comparison.

As the number of new drivers increases over the holiday season, due to students having time to take driving tests and a number receiving cars for their Christmas presents, their could not be a better time to start offering great savings on insurance for this particular group of drivers.

Even though some insurance companies do offer great deals for new and young drivers they can be hard to come across as these deals are not advertised as much as other lower risk categories, and even in some cases other insurers will simply not offer cheap car insurance for young drivers as it is considered just too risky. But thanks to this new comparison system all those hard to find deals are made apparent to people who desperately want to lower their outgoings.

Before quote forms it could be near on impossible to get a fair deal, as you would be required to ring a large number of companies, handing over the same details to each one. Even if you do have the patience to do this, it is likely you will miss a great offer or if you do find a great one it can be extremely easy to lose with all the notes you make on sheets of paper!

Cheap Insurance Locator provides insurance quotes for a number of areas of the market, from cheap mini insurance and cheap 4×4 insurance, to insurance for your home. We have been operating for nearly three years and have always stuck to own original goal, to save money for our visitors.

AAA welcomes Shariah-compliant Alternative investments

News that a major Bahrain-based alternative investment bank has increased its investment in US real estate has been welcomed by Alternative Asset Analysis (AAA) as a further sign of the popularity of alternative assets among Muslim investors.

Boston, MA, November 24, 2011 – News that a major Bahrain-based alternative investment bank has increased its investment in US real estate has been welcomed by Alternative Asset Analysis (AAA) as a further sign of the popularity of alternative assets among Muslim investors.

Investcorp has just announced the closure of new deals to buy large office complexes in both New York and California’s Long Beach region. It has also recently completed deals to buy office blocks in London.

Other real estate owned by Investcorp includes a $37 million building on Boynton Beach in Florida and a huge 221-unit residential community complex in Atlanta. The latest acquisitions are worth some $300 million, according to reports.

The firms makes alternative investments that are compliant with Islamic laws that prevent people from investing in propositions that could be seen as involving any form of gambling. Investcorp’s president for the Gulf business, Mohammed Al Shroogi, said, “Our historical experience in the US real estate market allowed us to identify and acquire these three Sharia-compliant properties.”

He added, “They complement our growing mix of investments selected for their strong and stable tenant histories, ties to growing metropolitan communities, and above market cash yields.”

AAA claims that alternative investments can be a good option for Muslim investors due to the way they are structured. Investing in forestry, for example, offers a stable investment in a tangible asset that will grow predictably in size and therefore in value. Forestry schemes such as the sustainable plantations grown by firms like Greenwood Management in Brazil, can also be seen as more ethical choices, as they are helping to reduce deforestation in developing countries.

AAA’s analysis partner, Anthony Johnson, explained, “more and more investors are moving away from traditional equities and into more alternative asset classes in order to reduce the risk in their portfolios. This is something Shariah-compliant investors have been doing for some time, and the model seems to work.”

Sojourn Music Release Holiday Inspired Songs “A Child Is Born” Set for Release on Nov 22, 2011

Christmas at Sojourn has always been a unique thing. From the first year in the life of the church, Sojourn have been fascinated by the more gritty side of the Christmas story.

Hollywood, CA, November 23, 2011 – Christmas at Sojourn has always been a unique thing. From the first year in the life of the church, Sojourn have been fascinated by the more gritty side of the Christmas story. The church fathers chose the darkest time of the year to celebrate the dawning of the Light of Lights in the birth of Christ, the entrance of hope into darkness.

The Christmas story itself is one of contrasts – God as a baby. A king in a manger. His birth was welcomed not by crowds and royalty, but by outcasts and foreigners. Because the Christmas story is ultimately a story of hope for the hopeless, healing for the broken, and light in the darkness.

Sojourn Church has sought for many years to capture that emotion in their Christmas music. There’s a place for joy, a necessary and central place for celebration, but that joy and celebration has its most weight when seen in the context of the suffering and longing from which it emerges. So Christmas music at Sojourn has always had a dark edge, a sense of tension and angst, which points us to the darkness of our own hearts that longs for the light of Christ.

This new CD recording, titled “A Child Is Born,” is birthed almost directly out of Sojourn Church’s Christmas worship services. The members of Sojourn recorded this new list of tracks at home, so to speak, at the 930 Arts Center (our Midtown campus) and at Eddy Morris’s, Sojourn’s Production Director and at Ear Candy studios, where Sojourn also recorded the albums, “Before the Throne” and “These Things I Remember.” Sojourn’s own pastor, Mike Cosper, states, “It’s an indie rock record, recorded the indie rock way, piecing together what we could to give fans and music lovers this homemade gift. It’s not perfect, but most home-made things aren’t.”

Sojourn Church also reached out to some friends and borrowed their songs for the making of “A Child Is Born,” including Bifrost Arts’ “Joy Joy,” a song based on a very old melody that perfectly captures that tense, advent joy. They also recorded Bill Mallonee’s “Knocking at Your Door”, a song we sing every Advent season whose gritty and earthy words bring the season home. In addition is Sandra McCracken’s “This is the Christ” a text McCracken reworked from Martin Luther, and was an instant favorite for Sojourn during last year’s holiday sermons.

In addition, Sojourn Church has a number of originals and traditional songs, including a punk-rock inspired “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” the grittiest version of “Go Tell it On the Mountain,” anyone will ever hear and ambient pop versions of “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” and “Silent Night,” a John Newton text reworked by Brooks Ritter (“Oh Glorious Hour”) and an ancient anonymous text reworked by Jamie Barnes (“A Voice is Sounding”).

A Child Is Born” is now available on Sojourn Music’s Bandcamp page and also available on Itunes and CD Baby.

Sojourn Music is also offering a 3 song sampler of the new release, “A Child Is Born,” to anyone who registers their email address: http://noisetrade.com/sojourn
