T5 Data Centers Begins Phase 2 of T5@Chicago Build Out to Meet Growing Regional Data Center Demand

T5@Chicago Data Center Adds Server-Ready Capacity to 208,000 Square Foot Facility.

Elk Grove Village, IL, USA — T5 Data Centers, innovators in providing secure, customizable, hyperscale computing environments for enterprise companies, today announced the second phase of the build out of its T5@Chicago data center. T5@Chicago is a highly secured purpose built, 208,000 square-foot data center in Elk Grove Village. This next phase will deliver a secure data hall consisting of 2 megawatts (mW) of available data center capacity in one of the premier data center markets in the country.

The Chicagoland area continues to experience an increase in demand from local and regional companies, along with cloud providers who are trying to keep pace with the adoption of hybrid cloud solutions. With more than 150 million square feet of office space in the Chicago area, there is a growing migration by enterprise customers from on premise computing to specialized colocation/wholesale and cloud services. T5@Chicago offers customers a customized data center solution that provides secure private data halls in a concurrently maintainable and fault tolerant design.

“The demand from corporate enterprise seeking data center space in Chicago continues to grow in a market that has very limited supply. As vacancy rates hover around 5 percent, we are in a unique position to deliver a high-quality data center solution that will provide customers complete control of their infrastructure, as if it were their own mission critical environment,” said David Horowitz, VP of Sales and Marketing for T5 Data Centers. “Network and power continue to be the life blood of a data center. We originally chose this location because of the robust fiber network and resilient utility infrastructure in Elk Grove Village. Beyond the initial data center, our adjacent site can accommodate another 170,000-square-foot,16mW facility to support future growth.”

T5@Chicago is a purpose-built Tier III, LEED Silver certified data center acquired by T5 Data Centers in 2016 and has been operating since its inception through its affiliate, T5 Facilities Management (T5FM). T5FM provides best-in-class, award-winning facilities management services including remote hands to data center owners across North America. The T5FM team provides 24/7 facilities support so customers can be assured of uninterrupted service.

T5@Chicago is the company’s ninth U.S. data center and meets the resilient, high-quality characteristics consistent across T5’s portfolio.

T5 Data Centers Opens Doors to T5@Dallas III Data Center

T5 Data Centers Completes Construction of New Concurrently Maintainable, 156,000 Square Foot, Greenfield Purpose-Built Facility with 10.75 MW Capacity.

Dallas, TX, USA — T5 Data Centers™ (http://www.t5datacenters.com), innovators in providing state-of-the-art, customizable and highly reliable computing support environments, today announced the opening of a new data center, T5@Dallas III on its Plano data center campus. The new greenfield, purpose-built data center is tenant ready and offers the same robust construction as the balance of the T5@Dallas campus, including a dedicated data center support team. The T5@Dallas campus is located in Plano’s Legacy Business Park.

The T5@Dallas III facility is a LEED Silver certified, concurrently maintainable data center with 94,400 square feet of available data hall space and 10.75 megawatts of critical power. T5@Dallas III features a highly efficient chilled water plant for a low annualized PUE, and it offers both N+1 and 2N MEP configurations for guaranteed uptime. The new facility also will be maintained by its own dedicated T5 Facilities Management (T5FM) team.

The building itself is designed to withstand winds in excess of 221 mph (EF-5 tornado equivalent), and there are multiple redundant power feeds from two local substations. In addition, the T5@Dallas III facility can take advantage of the multiple carriers and fiber connections already serving the T5@Dallas data center campus.

“Dallas is our most active data center market so it only made sense to bolster our T5@Dallas campus with an additional enterprise grade facility,” said Aaron Wangenheim, Chief Operating Officer for T5 Data Centers. “Our new T5@Dallas III data center is a smaller version of the adjoining T5@Dallas I data center with the same robust construction, design redundancy, and physical, electrical, and mechanical infrastructure. Dallas is a growing market for Fortune 500 companies and we want all of our tenants to be confident that when they sign with T5 Data Centers, they get a state-of-the-art facility with top-tier support.”

The original T5@Dallas facility is a 311,000 square foot/21.0 megawatt building with four isolated data centers under one roof. T5@Dallas is one of six T5 data centers nationwide to receive the Uptime Institute’s Management & Operations (M&O) Stamp of Approval. The M&O assessment evaluates every aspect of data center operations including planning, coordination, management, staffing and organization, training, operating conditions, and maintenance.

Fulham Announces Highbay ThoroLED Kit Now UL Listed for All Retrofit Applications

LED Retrofit Kit Designed to Replace 400 Watt Metal Halide Now UL Listed.

Hawthorne, CA, USA — Fulham Co., Inc., a leading supplier of lighting sub-systems and electronics for commercial and specialty applications, has announced that its ThoroLED Universal Voltage Highbay Retrofit Kit (part TRMUNV220ACXXXA), which was introduced early this year as a UL classified retrofit kit for field installations, has now also been approved for UL listing for use as a retrofit luminaire for renovation projects. In addition, the Highbay Retrofit kit is a DesignLights Consortium (DLC) qualified system under Retrofit and Luminaire, which makes utility rebates more accessible.

The ThoroLED Highbay Retrofit kit is suitable for both acrylic highbay and lowbay installations, such as warehouses, hangars, gymnasiums, or any building where 400-watt metal halide (HID) luminaires are normally used. The surface-mounted LED driver can handle 120V to 277V input, and the driver can be programmed to optimize power consumption and lumen output. The retrofit kit also has a built-in heat sink with integrated thermal management. Monaghan Medical Corporation Receives Innovative Technology Designation from Vizient for the AEROBIKA® OPEP device

Designation recognizes products that bring improvements to the health care industry.

Plattsburgh, NY, USA — Monaghan Medical Corporation announced its AEROBIKA® Oscillating Positive Expiratory Pressure (OPEP) device has received a 2017 Innovative Technology designation from Vizient, Inc., the largest member-driven health care performance improvement company in the country. The designation was based on direct feedback from hospital experts who interacted with the AEROBIKA® OPEP device at the Vizient Innovative Technology Exchange in Denver on Sept. 14, 2017.

The AEROBIKA® OPEP device is a drug-free, handheld mechanical oscillating positive expiratory pressure (OPEP) device that has been designed to address the structural and functional challenges in the airways of patients with COPD. When the patient exhales through the device, it helps to expand the airways, loosen and expel mucus from the lungs and may also enhance drug deposition. It has been shown to improve lung function, exercise capacity and quality of life in COPD patients,1 and a real-world study showed that the device reduced exacerbation rates in patients during the critical 30-day post-exacerbation period.2 These improved outcomes (equivalent to 6 fewer exacerbations per 100 patients per year) equate to a cost savings of $553 per patient with the AEROBIKA® OPEP device compared with no OPEP/PEP use, making the device a cost-effective treatment for COPD patients.

“We are extremely pleased to have been awarded this prestigious recognition from Vizient,” said Dominic Coppolo, MBA, RRT, FAARC, Vice President Clinical Strategy and Development. “Our device was recommended by Vizient members, which is a validation of all of the design and clinical work we have done to support our customers. We are the only OPEP device to have received this designation at this year’s Innovative Technology Exchange, and are proud it was recognized to deliver improved outcomes and enhanced safety.”

“Based on feedback from attendees at the Vizient Innovative Technology Exchange, it was determined that the AEROBIKA® OPEP device should be recognized with an Innovative Technology designation. This designation will be noted in our online member contract catalog. Congratulations to Monaghan Medical Corporation on receiving this status,” said Debbie Archer, director of procurement and Vizient Innovative Technology Program lead.

Vizient represents a diverse membership base that includes academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health delivery networks and non-acute health care providers and represents more than $100 billion in annual purchasing volume. Through its Innovative Technology Program, Vizient works with member-led councils and task forces to review potentially innovative products. If it is determined that a product is innovative, Vizient may award a contract outside of the competitive bid cycle.

Paradigm Shift Reflects Essential Turning Point in the Conscious Evolution of Mankind on Planet Earth

Prolific Author-Philosopher Notes that the Way Forward Embraces the Abundant Synergy of Man and Woman Balance.

Las Vegas, NV, USA — In his new treatise, author and philosopher Christopher Alan Anderson offers an educational writing that points to a different direction for our collective lives. In these turbulent times, with mankind and Planet Earth at a turning point, he asks, “What is the actual foundation we can base life upon?”

The Man and Woman Manifesto: What We Believe! answers this question, presenting a paradigm shift into Man and Woman Balance, a system of understanding the universe in terms of the fundamental polarities of maleness and femaleness and the balance thereof.

In religious terms, Anderson clarifies, we might say, “If there is a ‘God the Father’ there must also be a ‘God the Mother,’ not a ‘God the Mother’ as a secondary existence to ‘God the Father’ but as an equal and opposite primary existence to ‘God the Father.'” In philosophical terms, “Only [sexual] opposites can unite to then again divide…creating the spiritual lineage of [procreant] love.” This essential balanced interdependence offers a rich and life-enhancing reality all human beings can live by.

In an era in which it is clear our past and current religious and political structures have failed us, Anderson notes that many are confused about which way to turn. He comments, “We are being offered a sexual progressivism through L, G, B, T, Q as well as an existential threat in Islamic radicalism. In the meantime, our own constitutional system of governance and Christian roots seem to comprise a history, so what is the way forward? How are we to move ahead without a foundation based on life itself?”

The Man and Woman Manifesto: What We Believe! asserts that life is the only state of existence between male and female and that love is its one expression. The author further suggests that their every moment/touch is a spiritual resurrection/rebirth. In other words, procreation is not just physical in nature but spiritual as well. With this understanding, concludes Anderson, we may truly “love ye one another.”

He explains, “Love is a good place from which to begin the life endeavor, as Man and Woman Balance can only be an expression of love.” In short, “Man and woman can only love each other, now and forever,” so might not this living reality, both on an individual basis and within the world at large, be the actual foundation from which we can live together?

Anderson cautions, “This is not an easy book, but if you can capture and live its essence, your life will forevermore have purpose.”

About the Author: Christopher Alan Anderson received the basis of his education from the University of Science and Philosophy, Swannanoa, Waynesboro, Virginia. He resides in the transcendental/romantic tradition, that vein of spiritual creativity of the philosopher and poet. His quest has been to define and express an eternal romantic reality from which a man and a woman can together stand in their differences and create a living universe of procreative love. Mr. Anderson began these writings in 1971. The first writings were published in 1985. When asked to describe their overall message, he responded, “Spiritual procreation. Mankind has yet to distinguish the two sexes on the spiritual level. In this failure lies the root of our problems and why we cannot yet touch the eternal together. The message of man and woman balance brings each of us together in love with our eternal other half right now.”

Fulham Expands Commitment to CEC Title 20 Certification with FireHorse Emergency for Fluorescent and LED Exit Emergency Lighting

Fulham Offers New Emergency Fluorescent Ballasts and New Square Head Emergency Exit Lights for Retrofits and New Construction in California and Oregon.

Hawthorne, CA, USA — Fulham Co., Inc., a leading supplier of lighting components and electronics for commercial and specialty applications, continues to release new emergency lighting products that are certified compliant with the California Energy Commission (CEC) Title 20 Code of Regulations for small battery charger systems. The latest CEC Title 20 compliant units include the FireHorse 7 (FH7-UNV-500L-CEC) universal voltage emergency electronic fluorescent ballast and the FireHorse FHEM16 series of adjustable square head LED emergency lights.

The FireHorse 7 universal emergency ballasts are one of the few fluorescent ballasts to comply with CEC Title 20. The FireHorse 7 is the newest emergency fluorescent ballast in the Fulham product line. It delivers 500 lumens of emergency light for 90 minutes or longer and is powered by a rechargeable Ni-Cd battery. The FireHorse 7 can be used to add emergency lighting with or without an AC ballast and without affecting normal luminaire operation.

Many building improvements and upgrade projects require new lighting to make the structure compliant with current building regulations, including fire, light, and safety codes. Rather than adopting a “one size fits all” approach, Fulham offers three FireHorse fluorescent units at 1400, 750, and 500 lumens. Fulham also offers a full line of TLED lamps to replace fluorescent ballasts, although the FireHorse CEC units can power many TLED lamps as well.

“Our distributor and contractor customers are looking to Fulham to help keep them compliant with changing energy efficiency regulations. With the release of the new FireHorse universal emergency ballasts we are offering a CEC-compliant ballast that can save energy in new installations as well,” said Russ Sharer, Vice President of Global Marketing for Fulham. “Our FHEM16 emergency lights also are extremely popular because of their versatility, ease of installation, and low cost, and are now assured to meet Title 20 standards.”

The FireHorse FHEM16 LED adjustable square head emergency lights comply with the CEC Title 20 specifications outlined for small-diameter directional lamps, including power consumption of 75 watts or less. They have a rated life of more than 25,000 hours and are equipped with ANSI-compliant or E26 base types. All FireHorse FHEM16 emergency lighting units feature a rechargeable Ni-Cd battery that delivers up to 90 minutes of emergency power. The units feature a universal mount with a pattern knockout in the back for J-box mounting and snap-fit assembly.

The traditional design of the FHEM16 series has made it one of Fulham’s most popular products for emergency lighting. The unit comes factory installed with two 1.15W square LED heads. The units are dual voltage, operating at 120VAC or 277VAC. A remote capable version the FHEM16WRC, is also available. It that is compatible with FHEM10RH and FHEM16RH remote heads. Base units are available in white and black.

T5 Data Centers, Hillwood and IPI Partners Form Partnership to Develop T5@Alliance, a Hyperscale Data Center Campus at AllianceTexas

T5 Data Centers and Hillwood, are partnering to co-develop a data center campus within AllianceTexas, the 18,000-acre master-planned, mixed-use development in north Fort Worth. Development of the T5@Alliance data center campus is backed by IPI Data Center Partners Management, LLC (IPI Partners).

Atlanta, GA, USA — T5 Data Centers (T5), innovators in providing state-of-the-art, customizable, hyperscale computing environments, and Hillwood, one of the nation’s leading real estate companies, are partnering to co-develop a data center campus within AllianceTexas, the 18,000-acre master-planned, mixed-use development in north Fort Worth. Development of the T5@Alliance data center campus is backed by IPI Data Center Partners Management, LLC (IPI Partners), which invests in data centers and other technology and connectivity-related real assets and is sponsored by ICONIQ Capital, LLC and an affiliate of Iron Point Partners, LLC.

The T5@Alliance campus is a unique scaled opportunity for the data center market. AllianceTexas has initially dedicated 350-400 acres of its infrastructure rich master plan specifically for data centers. The massive pad sites with the infrastructure necessary to ensure uninterrupted power, telecommunications, and operations, provide the foundation for T5 to construct enterprise-scale, customized data centers that meet customers’ specific requirements. At full build-out, the development is capable of delivering 400+ megawatts of dedicated critical power, which replicates the current capacity of the entire Dallas-Fort Worth marketplace.

“Cloud and hyperscale data center users are looking for locations that can offer a growth pathway, incentives, resiliency and speed to operation, all with low costs. T5@Alliance offers a perfect combination of these critical requirements,” said Pete Marin, President and CEO of T5. “This partnership with Hillwood and IPI Partners brings together a highly experienced team ready to deliver hyperscale campuses for discerning data center customers.”

“Rapid growth in Fort Worth is catching the attention of large technology companies, like Facebook, and is reinforcing AllianceTexas’ position as a premier destination for data centers,” said Mike Berry, president of Hillwood, developer of AllianceTexas. “With highly acclaimed data centers already developed in eight major markets across the United States, T5 and IPI Partners are ideal partners for expediting the evolution of AllianceTexas as a large-scale data center destination. This partnership will allow us to quickly deliver even more data center campuses to the growing number of customers who want to more efficiently serve North Texas and the broader market.”

Redundancy is one of the core reasons that data centers find AllianceTexas attractive. The development is served by two separate transmission sources, Brazos Electric Power Cooperative and Oncor, which come together at the same location to provide power independently with transmission-level redundancy. Four substations currently exist at AllianceTexas, with locations identified for multiple additional substations, which enhance redundancy opportunities for development sites. This component, combined with the fact that Texas operates on its own electrical grid, mitigates the risk that data center operations will be disrupted by power outages. The state’s deregulated electricity marketplace also makes power extremely affordable.

Multiple long-haul and domestic fiber providers are also in place throughout AllianceTexas. In addition, the development is served by water supplied by the City of Fort Worth. The water system within AllianceTexas has been constructed and was purposefully designed to provide critical redundancy, with interconnections between three transmission water mains.

“The partners share the same vision for providing customers with customized data center solutions, making this a great opportunity to leverage our capabilities and resources to support the growing demands of colocation, enterprise and hyper-scale users across the region,” said Reid Goetz, vice president of Hillwood. “The massive pad sites at T5@Alliance, which are already served with critical infrastructure, make the development a great platform on which the partners can create one of the world’s top data center destinations. Facebook and other FORTUNE 500 users have already recognized the substantial advantages of this location for massive installations. Redundancy, the presence of multiple fiber providers, access to an ample volume of water and the region’s moderate weather all help ensure reliable, uninterrupted service of data centers at AllianceTexas.”

BookJane accomplishes this by taking advantage of new technology and maximizing the potential of the gig economy. We effectively organize caregivers, and schedule them for times that comfortably fit their own schedules. This utilizes the available caregivers, and delivers care more efficiently than traditional systems. While each individual caregiver may have limitations to their schedule, together our workforce becomes an extremely flexible unit that is able to cover any booking, even at the last minute. Whether someone need a caregiver now, or in a month for now, we will find someone in our caregiving database to fit their unique needs.

The WSA 2017 nominees will be evaluated based on seven fundamentals criteria: Content, Functionality, Design, Technology, Innovation, Impact and Global/UN value.

The WSA nominees are selected carefully and highly competitive by the WSA National Experts from more than 178 UN member states. The WSA National Experts nominate up to eight projects for each country – one for every WSA category.

A nomination to the WSA hence is already and award in itself – the qualification to compete and compare on an international level and being the best practice in Inclusion and Empowerment nationally.
