Sesame – smart lock that changes the world

Palo Alto, CA, March 27, 2015 — /EPR NETWORK/ — Sesame, the world’s first instant smart lock, raised more than seven times of its funding goal on Kickstarter. Launched on Kickstarter on Feb. 25, 2015, Sesame has raised more than $760,000 from backers all over the world.

The smart lock, which allows users to control their door with a smartphone app, attracted thousands.

Connected to users’ phone via Bluetooth, Sesame allows users full control of the lock, even to the exact angle a lock turns. With the optional Wi-Fi Access Point that connects Sesame to the Internet, users don’t even have to be physically near Sesame. The remote control feature allows people to send access to their friends and keep track of whether the door’s locked wherever they are.

With five-patented design, Sesame works with just about any deadbolt in the world. Users can install it in seconds, without replacing existing lock or removing anything. Current model is optimized for US/Canada/Singapore/Norway/Sweden Markets.

With market of Internet of Things (IoT) expanding rapidly, backers are turning more and more attention to smart gadgets that make their life easier. Founded by two students from Stanford University, CANDY HOUSE Inc. designs and manufactures products that inspire a minimal yet joyful lifestyle.

“People will carry less and less things when leave the house, that’s the trend,” said Jerming Gu, founder of Candy House.

Wallet, keys, and cell phone. People used to bring three things when they leave home. Now walltet is gradually replaced by keys. The Starbucks app pays your green tea frappuccino, you Venmo money to a friend for getting late-night pizza, you hop on a Uber without worrying about cab fare or tip.

“With Sesame, the next thing to disappear are the keys,” said Gu.

Output Factory for Adobe InDesign Improves Alternate Layouts Handling

Zevrix Solutions announces Output Factory 1.5.18, a maintenance update to its output automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Output Factory automates printing, exporting and post-processing from InDesign and offers batch processing, export as single pages, variable file names, layer versioning, preflighting, output history and more. The new version addresses an issue in which a bug in InDesign installation could result in incorrect output results.

Toronto (ON), Canada (March 27, 2015) — Zevrix Solutions today announces the release of Output Factory 1.5.18, a maintenance update to its solution to automate printing, exporting and post-processing from Adobe InDesign. Output Factory automates and simplifies workflows of printers, prepress bureaus, ad agencies and publishing houses worldwide by offering batch processing with powerful and time-saving output options.

“Output Factory has been the single biggest time-saver I’ve encountered in years of print production,” says Mike Agate, Production Manager of Which?, Europe’s largest consumer rights organization. “Easily saves hours a week, producing bullet-proof documents over and over… With the reduction in head count and efficiency savings, it must have paid for itself 500 times over.”

The new version addresses a bug in InDesign installation that can prevent Output Factory from retrieving the list of document’s alternate layouts. This error could result in incorrect output page range, erroneous file names and other issues. Output Factory now informs the user about the installation error, its possible consequences and steps to take to resolve the problem.

With Output Factory users only need to select InDesign files, adjust workflow settings, and the software will do the rest automatically. Built-in preflighting ensures that no output errors will be left unnoticed. The program supports all popular output formats and offers the following key features:

Output multiple InDesign files with a single click
Export as single pages
-Output to several formats at once
-Output layer combinations as single files
-Update modified links automatically
-Variable output file names
-Preflight files before processing and skip errors
-Detailed output history

Pricing and Availability:
Output Factory can be purchased from Zevrix website for US$169.95 (Light version $120, Server $700), as well as from authorized resellers and Adobe Exchange. Trial is also available for download. BatchOutput users can upgrade to Output Factory for $84.97. Output Factory requires Mac OS X 10.6-10.10 and Adobe InDesign CS3-CC 2014.

LAN Systems Partners with Cambridge Sound Management

LAN Systems has partnered with Cambridge Sound Management to offer the latest technology in sound masking.

Berkeley Lake, GA (USA), March 26th, 2015 — LAN Systems has partnered with Cambridge Sound Management to offer the latest technology in sound masking. The patented Cambridge system is a leader is sound masking technology for speech privacy and workforce productivity solutions.

The system provides sound masking for open office spaces, private offices and public spaces where speech privacy or speech confidentiality is desired or required and in any workspace to reduce distractions and improve productivity. Speech privacy or speech confidentiality is desired or required and in any workspace to reduce distractions and improve productivity.

“Cambridge Sound Management is the gold standard for sound management,” said Hester. “We are delighted to partner with them to offer this great technology for the modern workplace.”

The Cambridge sound masking system can help organizations achieve LEED Certification. The Indoor Environmental Quality category – to increase daylight and outdoor views – requires organizations to use lower partitions between work stations, large windows and more open floor plans. These design requirements can create a decline in the acoustic quality of the workspace, increasing distractions and reducing productivity. Additionally, the Cambridge system is the most energy efficient sound masking system available today, using less than 10% of the power of any other system.

Traditional sound masking systems, created in the early 1950s, use speakers the size of paint cans and require significant post-installation commissioning. Still on the market, these outdated systems were not designed for today’s modern facilities. Cambridge was founded in 1999 in Cambridge, Massachusetts by an MIT PhD with a distinguished heritage in the field of acoustics and audio engineering. Developing proprietary technology based on research and development in acoustics, science, architecture, and facility design, Cambridge Sound Management launched its first commercial sound masking solution in 2001 and continues to pioneer the next generation of sound masking solutions.

LondonTown.com: Digital talk and avant-garde art at the ICA this summer

Two new events announced at the world’s leading multi-discipline avant-garde arts space.

LONDON, March 23, 2015 — /REAL TIME PRESS RELEASE/ — The Institute of Contemporary Arts, better known to Londoners as the ICA and renowned worldwide as one of the great avant-garde galleries, has announced two events that will take place at their Central London premises later this year. Fear of Missing Out: Summit Defining Influences of the Digital Age in 2015 (29th – 31st May 2015) is the title of a special symposium that will explore post-digital anxieties, while Isa Genzken: Basic Research Paintings is the title of an exhibition that will run from 30th June to 6th September in the ICA Upper Galleries. For more about other London events already announced at the ICA in 2015, see LondonTown.com, the website that also allows tourists and visitors to find the latest booking information for cheap London hotels.

Fear of Missing Out will be chaired by Berlin artist and theorist Hito Steyerl, bringing together leading international theorists, academics, social thinkers and artists to discuss post-digital anxieties and the social condition. It will examine the progression and trajectory of technological, economic, ecological and cultural advances by introducing speakers from diverse disciplines to present on topics from Artificial Intelligence to Cyberfeminism. Speakers confirmed include Karen Archey, Erika Balsom, Eleanor Saitta and McKenzie Wark and the summit will also include a screening of work by Harun Farocki. Additional speakers will be announced shortly.
Isa Genzken: Basic Research Paintings will feature the work of one of the most important and influential artists of the last forty years. Since the 1970s, Genzken has developed experimented with a variety of different materials and art forms, to include assemblage and photography, film and video. Her Basic Research paintings feature a frottage technique, similar to that deployed by surrealist artists in search of automatic forms of art production. Having applied a layer of paint to her canvas, she then placed the canvas face-down on her studio floor before rubbing the back with a squeegee. Having peeled the canvas away from the floor, the resulting print shows all the dirt and imperfections of her workspace in near photographic detail. The Basic Research paintings are compelling in that they invite scrutiny. For more information on these London events, plus other events and exhibitions taking place at the ICA, see LondonTown.com.

LinkOptimizer for Adobe InDesign Now Supports Multi-state Objects

Zevrix Solutions announces LinkOptimizer 4.9.33, a maintenance update to its popular workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. LinkOptimizer allows users to reduce the size of InDesign links and speed up processing by automatically eliminating excess image data, performing essential image adjustments and converting file formats. The new version supports processing of multi-state objects in InDesign CC 2014 documents and fixes some safety bleed related issues.

Toronto (ON), Canada (March 22, 2015) — Zevrix Solutions today announces the release of LinkOptimizer 4.9.33, a maintenance update to its popular workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Awarded 4 out of 5 stars by Computer Arts magazine, LinkOptimizer automates complex image manipulation tasks allowing to significantly reduce the size of InDesign links, save processing time and reduce production costs.

The new version introduces full support for multi-state objects in InDesign CC 2014 documents. In previous versions only active links of multi-state objects were processed. The new update also fixes an issue in which the link safety bleed could be reset to zero during analyzing, improves the bleed value formatting and fixes certain user interface issues on Mac OS X Yosemite.

“LinkOptimizer makes me extremely happy”, says Nynke Tiekstra, the owner of design studio ColtsfootMedia in Friesland, Netherlands. “It converted 10,000 images in a 1800 pages project saving us at least 40 hours work, and it proved to be 100% accurate.”

LinkOptimizer works automatically with Adobe Photoshop to eliminate the excess image data of InDesign links, perform essential image adjustments and convert image formats. For example, with just a click of a button users can:

-scale and crop images to match their dimensions in InDesign,
-change resolution to 300 dpi,
convert RGB images to CMYK,
-resave JPEG images as TIFF,
-run a Photoshop Action on each image.

At the end of processing, LinkOptimizer reimports images to InDesign at 100% in their precise position. In addition, the software can apply sharpening filters, merge layers and delete hidden ones, and process copies of InDesign links instead of original files.

Pricing and Availability:
LinkOptimizer can be purchased from Zevrix website for US$259.95 (Light version: $179.95) as well as from authorized resellers and Adobe Exchange. Trial is also available for download. The update is free for LinkOptimizer 4.x users and $130 to upgrade from previous versions. LinkOptimizer requires Mac OS X 10.6-10.10 and Adobe InDesign and Photoshop CS3-CC 2014.

MDSupplies Announces the Naming of Its DirectConnect Technology – A Major Disruptor in the Medical Supplies Industry

MDSupplies continues to shake up the medical industry by providing unprecedented direct access to the industry’s top name brand medical supplies using proprietary DirectConnect technology.

Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA (March 13, 2015) — MDSupplies continues to shake up the medical supply industry by providing unprecedented direct access to over 50 medical supply vendors using proprietary DirectConnect technology. The DirectConnect technology is an online ordering portal serving as a single source for buying supplies from multiple vendors. The technology also allows clients to track shipments and analyze historical purchasing data, whether at one single site or across hundreds of locations.

Brad Reeser, VP/General Manager states, “We enjoy seeing our clients save 50% on medical supplies compared to what they were previously paying with one of the traditional distributors. While we provide direct access to the same products from the same vendors, our competitors must establish pricing that pays for their significant overhead; including fleets of delivery vans, huge warehouses, and territory managers supervising commissioned salespeople. With our competitors, all those expenses have to be paid for by someone – and it’s the end user.”

Reeser continues, “The beauty of our system is its simplicity – there are no software downloads, no account applications, no minimum orders, and no contracts to sign. Everything is public and can be found on our website. But perhaps the best part is that our clients can purchase from over 50 different vendors, in one single transaction, allowing them maximum flexibility and efficiency.”

MDSupplies continues to grow by adding products, manufacturers and vendors to their system. With a direct affiliation to industry-leading companies, MDSupplies brings you more than 30 years of combined medical industry experience.

MDSupplies DirectConnect Availability
There are no software downloads, no approvals, no account applications, no minimum commitments, and no contracts to sign. The MDSupplies DirectConnect technology is “live” and available to use for free on their website; http://www.mdsupplies.com.

Leading Managed Security Provider Addresses Increase in Cyber-security by Disrupting Market Order

Netswitch Technology Management, Inc., one of the top 5 MSP’s in California has developed a Managed Security offering that is a game-changer in the managed security space.

San Francisco, CA, March 09, 2015 — Netswitch Technology Management, Inc., one of the top 5 MSP’s in California has developed a Managed Security offering that is a game-changer in the managed security space.

The Gartner Group has defined Managed Security Services by identifying leaders in their Magic Quadrant who all offer a proprietary software system surrounded by services. Netswitch has flipped the model on its head by offering security services surrounding an open software stack customized to fit the customer’s specific security protection needs.

This approach has earned Steve King, the Chief Security Officer of Netswitch, acknowledgement as one of the 250 most influential people in Managed Services in 2014. Mr. King designed the MADROC Integrated Security Platform to address the increasing incidents of cyber-security breaches affecting companies of all sizes as an affordable, subscription based solution.

Mr. King was recently selected for Nine Lives Media’s seventh annual MSPmentor 250. The global list identifies the world’s leading Managed Services Provider (MSP) executives, entrepreneurs, experts, coaches and community leaders. “We congratulate Steve King on this distinguished honor and thank our readership community for submitting the nomination,” said Amy Katz, president of Nine Lives Media, a division of Penton (www.penton.com).

Instead of forcing a proprietary software solution at customers – one that will be outdated within six months at the rate things are changing in data security – MADROC customizes its technology stack with several software solutions from leading vendors with which Netswitch is partnered to fit the exact requirements of particular customer profile. Netswitch evaluated and tested 235 separate software systems addressing every possible point solution, before selecting a handful of the best price-performers to integrate in MADROC. And, to be sure that they keep pace with changes in attack techniques, they continue to test and evaluate new software products for consideration as new candidates for inclusion in the platform. This way, they insure that MADROC is always current.

To keep it affordable, MADROC is offered on a subscription basis. “Our clients don’t have to write a big check for software that will be obsolete in a year”, says King, who is also COO of Netswitch. “Making that kind of a capital commitment in a market that changes every 60 days is crazy. No one has the time or resources to stay abreast of these changes or to evaluate solutions today. There is literally a breach every day and most of them represent a new form of malware that hasn’t been seen before. Our model is to add continuous protection from a dangerous changing world populated by really smart cyber-criminals, so our customers don’t ever have to worry.”

Netswitch says that their technology stack is used by over 3,000 companies worldwide and provides protection from attacks from the endpoint, file-sharing, data, application, web and email sources, regardless of whether they have prior signatures or represent zero-day, unknown attacks. MADROC uses advanced behavioral analytics to detect and prevent advanced persistent threats in all forms from attacking a company’s assets.

About Netswitch:
Netswitch is a global technology solutions provider, serving businesses of all sizes whose model for success relies upon secure, smoothly running, and fully integrated IT systems.

Netswitch provides Managed Security Services, IT Support and Systems Integration Services in the US and Asia with offices in San Francisco, Thailand, Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Our MADROC® Integrated Security Platform is in use in over 3,000 client sites around the world providing intrusion detection and prevention, monitored and managed web firewalls and gateways, mobile device management, security information and event management, managed vulnerability, network mapping and performance monitoring and complete audit-ready regulatory compliance. http://www.netswitch.net/
