Alabama and Fremont Nebraska Illegal Immigration Laws Receive National Support

Alabama and Fremont Nebraska Illegal Immigration Laws Receive National Support From ALIPAC.

(For National Release) Raleigh, NC, USA – February 22, 2012 — Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) is offering national support to the backers of Alabama’s new illegal immigration control legislation as well as the 75% of Fremont Nebraska’s municipal ordinance that was cleared by the courts this week.

ALIPAC’s extensive national activist network is now deployed sharing the news with state lawmakers across America that Alabama’s unemployment rate has dropped quickly in response to the peaceful departure of illegal immigrants in response to state level immigration law enforcement.

ALIPAC activists are busy rallying city and town council members nationwide to implement laws similar to Fremont Nebraska ordinance. Recent court rulings have cleared the way for towns like Farmers Branch Texas, Hazleton Pennsylvania and many others to do just that.

“We need American defenders fighting on every level right now!” said William Gheen President of ALIPAC. “We are fighting against the illegal immigration invasion of America in our towns, in our states, in Washington, DC and in the campaigns and elections. Americans need every job and every taxpayer resource we can reclaim from illegal aliens.”

ALIPAC activists are delivering an article written by Neil Munro published in the Daily Caller on February 20, 2012 to state lawmakers in all 50 states titled “Alabama’s immigration reform again cuts unemployment“.

“In the last three months alone, we’ve seen an unprecedented drop of 1.7 percentage points,” noted Alabama Republican Gov. Robert Bentley in a Jan. 20 statement. The drop began after a bipartisan 2011 law toughened the state’s immigration enforcement policies. The reform prompted many low-skilled illegal immigrants to leave the state, and was slammed by advocates for illegal immigrants, including Tom Perez, the chief of the Justice Department’s civil regulation division.

“We expect the illegal aliens to leave any state or town where they hear local Americans will be enforcing the popularly supported immigration laws duly passed by our constitutionally empowered Congress,” said William Gheen. “Our activists are taking steps to make sure every state and town lawmaker knows it is incumbent upon them to protect American citizens from the dire consequences of invasion when the federal government fails in its most basic responsibility to enforce Article 4 of the US Constitution.”

To schedule interviews or for more information about ALIPAC’s efforts to spread versions of Arizona’s and Alabama’s illegal immigration laws to other states, or activist efforts to spread Fremont Nebraska’s court authorized city ordinance to other towns, please visit http://www.ALIPAC.us.

Barclays Bankers May Lose £1bn Bonus To PPI Claims Says PPI Claims Company Simple Financial Solutions

Barclays bank is considering a move that will see the bonuses planned for its staff cut to pay the fines and compensation claims for PPI mis-selling, and may even institute a claw back of bonuses already paid, says PPI Claims Company Simple Financial Solutions.

In the wake of Sir John Vickers banking reform report, Barclays Chief Executive Bob Diamond has put forward the idea that some of the large fines for PPI mis-selling could be met by withholding the bonuses of its staff as a type of penance and using the money to meet its PPI mis-selling commitments instead.

In a meeting with the MPs of the Treasury Select Committee, Mr Diamond was taken to task by Committee Chair Andrew Tyrie about PPI mis-selling. In explaining that the staff responsible for the mis-selling had now gone, Mr Diamond added in reference to the PPI fines: “We are taking into account in our businesses that impact in our remuneration.”

Some believe his comments have come following the decision of Lloyds bank to claw back some of the bonus its chief executive, Eric Daniels, received because of the heavy financial toll of £3.2bn the PPI mis-selling scandal  is predicted to have on the lender.

However, Mr Diamond appeared to be losing patience with proceedings when later asked about bankers’ level of pay and remarked that it was ‘disappointing’ to be asked about it again. ‘I was looking forward to a discussion on the Independent Commission on Banking and its report and we’re right on to the same issues as last time, which I do find disappointing,’ he said.

A spokesperson for PPI Claims Company Simple Financial Solutions, said: “It seems that the bankers wish everyone would just shut up and forget about the PPI mis-selling scandal, as if it is water under the bridge, old history, best forgotten. Nobody has forgotten Mr Diamond’s comments earlier this year when he proclaimed the time for‘remorse and apology’ was over. The trouble is, it isn’t and it won’t be. Barclays has been identified as being one of the worst offenders for dragging its heels over settlingPPI claims and until the matter is fully concluded and Barclay’s customers are properly and fairly treated, Mr Diamond will hear a great deal more on the subject.”

“Cutting staff bonuses for poor performance is just the start of the steps Barclays should be taking to get its house in order. A bonus claw back from those senior manager who time and again failed at their jobs and caused this mess would be a good idea and might see Barclays earn a little lost respect back from customers.”

Quarter of UK Consumers Have No Knowledge of Partner’s Pay Finds New DiscountVouchers.co.uk User Survey

Over a quarter of UK consumers has no knowledge of how much money their partners get paid according to new research this week. The survey, conducted by leading money-saving website DiscountVouchers.co.uk, found that over 25% of people know nothing of their loved one’s salary.

The DiscountVouchers.co.uk survey uncovered that 27.25% of UK consumers doesn’t know how much their partner makes, while 100% more women have personal bank accounts than men. Eight percent of women keep money in personal, secret bank accounts versus four percent of men.

Further to this the DiscountVouchers.co.uk survey also found that 43% of women lie to their loved ones about what they spend on clothing and outfits, versus 17% of men. The poll revealed that guilt was the main reason for lying to a partner in this way.

The voucher codes website polled consumers on their spending habits and uncovered that 40% of people regularly read a loved one’s personal bank or credit card statements. Contrary to that however, 10% of respondents don’t even bother looking at their credit card or bank correspondence at all.

Psychologist Dr Penny Goldsbrough comments: “We see a lot of this behaviour among consumers, and often it is most common in people with low levels of self-esteem and fear of the unknown. Opening a partner’s bank statements or credit card details implies a major lack of trust, as does having private bank accounts.”

Dr Goldsbrough continues: “Being cagey and secretive about finances is a maternal trait and so if a person has had a mother who lied about money to a father then it’s likely it is passed on to the offspring. Many people feel levels of guilt about spending money but conversely the need to spend money for therapy purposes is very common indeed.”

DiscountVouchers.co.uk helps Brits to save using money off vouchers for more than 800 of the country’s most famous on and offline retailers.

As The Credit Card Industry Suffers Revenue Losses, Consumers In Need Of a New Line of Credit Option

Overall, the credit card industry earned almost 6% less revenue in 2011 than during the previous year, in large part due to a decrease in the use of credit cards by shoppers and, as a result, less revolving credit that can be subjected to interest charges and fees. While come consumers have made a conscious effort to wean themselves off of spending on credit cards in an attempt to get a handle on their personal debt, others were forced into a credit card-free lifestyle during and after the Great Recession when many card issuers terminated the accounts of risky borrowers. Recent years have seen many lenders competing fiercely amongst themselves in order to pursue only the most creditworthy individuals.

Now with the nation’s economic situation slowly but steadily improving, credit card issuers are feeling more comfortable about relaxing their underwriting standards. This, combined with their acute need to acquire new cardholders in order to shore up some of their revenue losses of late, means that many lenders will looking beyond those with good and excellent credit scores in 2012. This opens up a whole slew of opportunities for people with less-than-perfect credit histories as they can reasonably expect lenders to increase their offering of credit cards for fair credit.

Consumers should beware of rising interest rates on borrowing as credit card issuers flounder to recoup some of their loss of earnings. In fact, experts have reported that going in to the New Year, the average interest rate on consumer credit cards is 15.14%, higher than the 14.75% APR that was the national average just six months ago. One option for consumers to find temporary reprieve from high interest rates is to look into 0 balance transfer credit cards which, when used wisely, can be an invaluable tool when it comes to handling debt.

Credit card companies are going to have to come up with some hard and fast ways to up their revenue over the coming year, whether they resort to raising interest rates, laying off employees, making more unsecured credit cards for bad credit available, some combination of the above or employing another technique altogether.

20th Anniversary of World Scientists Warning to Humanity

In 1992, 1,700 Nobel laureates and world leading scientists issued an appeal to the world to stop destroying the environment. Failing to do so, they said, would jeopardize all life on the planet. Humanity has failed to listen.

Jacksonville, FL, January 19, 2012 – In 1992, 1,700 world leading scientists, including the majority of Nobel laureates, issued an appeal to the human race. They said the human race was on a collision course with the natural world. Human activities were inflicting irreversible damage on the environment and critical resources. If not stopped, the activities seriously risk the future of human society and all life on earth as we know it. They made this appeal based on humanity’s response to the Club of Rome report.

In 1968, the Club of Rome was formed by a group of academic, diplomatic and industrial professionals to discuss SHORT-TERM THINKING in international affairs and the impact it was causing on society. Using private money, they created a computer program to model human society. A wide variety of scenarios were tested to explore how the environment, industry and society would respond to high, medium and low levels of population, food production, technology improvement, capital infusion and other variables. The results of the computer runs were startling! The book “Limits to Growth” was published in 1972 to describe their findings.

They found that, for every scenario, human society was facing a drastic collapse between 2010 and 2060 unless radical reductions to population increase and natural resource consumption were made immediately ( i.e. 1972 ). The response by society to these predictions was just as startling. Consistent with their original concerns, prominent economists, scientists and political leaders denounced the study. The needed reductions were ignored. A 1992 update to the book reassessed how the planet was doing in comparison to the 1972 models. For many variables, things were going worse than the worst-case models. The anticipated arrival of the collapses was advanced. Leading world scientists responded by signing a petition to world governments to take immediate action. Their warning was again ignored.

There is no longer any need to wait to see if the predictions were true. The collapses have begun. Yet, humanity’s assault on the planet continues to grow worse. The planet’s weather is radically changing; hurricanes are growing in strength; rain bands are shifting, turning once verdant crop areas into deserts. 90% of the fish in the oceans and natural wild life on land have been depleted. Massive starvations are starting: over 30,000 children every day. Arctic ice is melting, removing huge weight from landmasses like Greenland and transporting that weight around the globe as oceans rise. This causes crustal plates to tilt, leading to earthquakes. Major natural resources are approaching depletion. Oil production has passed its peak and is decreasing. Wood for cooking for billions of people has been wiped out. Fresh water and major metal mining can no longer keep up with needs. The list goes on and on and on.

20 years have now passed since that warning. But the public remains in broad denial. Narrow minded politicians continue to press for endless growth. Control of government has been taken by the investment banks and industry leaders creating the largest class of “robber barons” in history. New warnings come from every direction as we watch world populations begin to starve, including almost 30% of the children in the U.S.. Yet the blind greed of the elite permits the catastrophe to continue. Why? There is a very sinister answer. We call it “human nature”. Unfortunately, the psychology driving human nature has never been accurately understood. The faults of current government structures and possible solutions have never before been accurately described. Finally, there are answers that pull the whole picture together. The answers are summarized at A3society.org and presented in the new book series by Bruce Nappi called LIARS! The warning from the world scienti sts is shown there on the links page in both text and video form. Don’t accept the lies anymore!

About Bruce Nappi:
Explorer, philosopher and Jacksonville, Florida author, Bruce Nappi, has just released two volumes of his new book series LIARS! The books present over 40 major discoveries that answer many of the most critical unanswered questions of the ages, including why we have so much chaos and strife in modern society. Difficult psychological and philosophical discoveries are explained using everyday language in a readable, exciting novel format. The discoveries affect every part of our culture, making the books interesting and valuable reading for everyone who seeks understanding and improvement for today’s society.

The books — LIARS! Vol. 1: Scout to the Pole; and Vol. 2: Escape to Insanity — are based on Nappi’s experience as one of the Eagle Scouts on the 1965 North Pole Expedition. They present an “Atlas Shrugged” philosophical romp through a 3 Stooges run government research world, challenging the most fundamental beliefs of human culture. The coming of age saga is filled with amazing true-life adventures expanded by the insights of 40 years in the rough and tumble world of high tech business intrigue. A life threatening climax in volume 2 finally creates a setting to pull together all the wisdom and lay out a broad and comprehensive explanation for many of the problems modern society can’t seem to understand.

Ultimately, the reader will learn how public statements claiming to represent broad “public opinion”, are predominantly the voice of a small elite minority intent on maintaining superiority. Mankind’s greatest social institutions: government, religion, science, education, law, medicine, and even the U.S. Constitution, are challenged and shown to be corrupt. A unified structure emerges which becomes the basis for a new social structure for mankind.

Ribbon Cutting & Launch of Breathmobile® in Alameda

On Friday, January 20, 2012, the Prescott-Joseph Center for Community Enhancement, Inc. (PJCCE), in partnership with the Alameda Boys & Girls Club and Alameda Head Start will host a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Alameda Boys & Girls Club, 1900 3rd Street in Alameda as it launches services of the PJCCE Breathmobile®, a 33ft pediatric mobile asthma clinic, in the City of Alameda. The press conference and ceremony will start at 10:00am and will include members of the Alameda School Board, City elected officials, Alameda Head Start representatives, Alameda County representatives, and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. Light refreshments will be provided.

Event: Breathmobile ® Press Conference & Ribbon Cutting
Friday, January 20, 2012
10:00am – 10:30am
Alameda Boys & Girls Club
1900 3rd Street, Alameda

Asthma rates for children in the City of Alameda, and particularly at Alameda Point are high in the 0-5 age group. Many families do not have insurance to access regular asthma health care,” says Washington Burns, MD, Executive Director of the Breathmobile. “We are happy to be partnering with the Alameda Head Start and Alameda Boys and Girls Club.” Dr. Burns was contacted in 2011 by Daniel Javes of Alameda Head Start, after Javes concerned about asthma rates in Head Start children, had heard about the work the Breathmobile was doing at schools in Oakland. Javes contacted Dr. Burns and said that the Boys and Girls Club would be a perfect site in Alameda to see children with asthma. Javes suggested he should contact George Phillips, Executive Director of the Alameda Boys & Girls Club, which he did. “The Breathmobile fits right in with our other health care initiatives like our dental clinic.” says George Phillips, the Club’s Executive Director, “It allows us to offer convenient access to services they might not otherwise use and will help us realize our goal of instilling healthy lifestyle habits in the children of our community.”

The Breathmobile®, the first of its kind in Northern California is owned and operated by PJCCE and is a 33 ft. Winnebago RV outfitted with the latest equipment to function as a pediatric mobile asthma clinic. Inside the van, there are an intake station, a small waiting space, a testing area for vital signs including Oximetry, allergen skin testing and spirometry, and an exam room. On board are two computer systems, the first has a health risk assessment system for asthma, and a screening module for pre-diabetes, and the other system is a state of the art electronic medical records system called “AsmaTrax.” Asthma and allergy specialists on-board include Pediatric Allergists, Registered Nurses, and Respiratory Therapists. A video system is also on board to play educational videos and CDs. Services are provided in English and Spanish, and are available at no cost to children and families. The Breathmobile® will also provide services at the Matheson Head Start in Alameda Point.

The Breathmobile’s® mission is to reduce the effects of asthma among economically challenged families by providing a sustainable, accessible asthma management program that will focus on regular preventive care, thereby shifting families away from acute episodic and emergency care.

There are other Breathmobiles® operating throughout the US, including Los Angeles, Orange County, Chicago, Baltimore, University of Alabama, and Phoenix, Arizona. All of these units form a national collaborative organization linked by a computer system located at USC to study and improve the effective treatment and management of asthma. Collaborative studies of Breathmobile® units in Chicago, Baltimore, Los Angeles and Orange counties in Southern California show a dramatic 73% reduction in Emergency Room visits and hospitalizations of asthma children being served by their Breathmobiles®. In its two years of operation, the PJC Breathmobile® has shown significant decrease in emergency room visits from 122 to 2, asthmarelated hospitalizations from 63 to 1, and school absences from 351 days to 17.

“There are so many diseases that we cannot control, but asthma is a controllable disease,“ says Dr. Burns, “By having the Breathmobile®, we can drastically reduce emergency room visits, hospitalizations, school absenteeism, reduce medical costs, and decrease morbidity and mortality of asthma by teaching patients how to control their children’s asthma. We are also increasing children’s academic performance.”
