Background on Will’s Fargo Steakhouse + Bar:
Will’s Fargo Steakhouse + Bar became a landmark steakhouse in 1959 and has been a peninsula favorite for over 55 years. Entering Will’s is stepping back into a time when fine food and service were the rule, rather than the exception. An intimate courtyard patio offers seasonal outdoor dining. Will’s also features an intriguing small saloon with a full bar that pours an honest drink and features a lighter menu, including such standards as salads, burgers, and other delectable items. Dinner from 4:30pm nightly. Indoor and outdoor seating available as well as a pet friendly patio.

About The Owners:
Carmel Valley’s iconic steakhouse Will’s Fargo is owned and operated by the husband-and-wife team of Nick Elliott and Hunter Lowder, who also team up to run nearby Holman Ranch, a wedding and special event venue that also produces wine and olive oil. Lowder formerly served as manager of Rio Grill in Carmel, while Elliott is a culinary school graduate. At Will’s, Lowder manages the front of the house while Elliott runs the bar. The couple maintains Will’s Fargo’s reputation as an elite steakhouse and popular locals’ hangout, while also using the property as an off-site option for Holman Ranch guests.

The History of Will’s Fargo:
The Will’s building was constructed in the late 1920’s to be a tea room and later served as a Road House located on the “milk run” between Monterey and Tassajara, eventually becoming a dinner house named The Carousel. Will Fay established Will’s Fargo Restaurant in 1959; the name simply a take-off on his first name which seemed appropriate for what he called the “dressed up saloon” interior. With the use of antiques and collectibles, Will merged the gracious aura of a Victorian parlor with a western “Fargo” way station. An evening at Will’s Fargo brings back a bygone era.

Background on Chef Jérôme Viel:
A classically trained French chef born in Brittany, Jérôme Viel began studying the culinary arts at the age of 15. Traveling throughout Europe to study each region’s specialties, Chef Viel worked with some of the world’s greatest chefs.

He left Europe in 1999 and landed in Carmel Valley, Calif., working at two prestigious resorts, Bernardus Lodge and Stonepine Estate. Viel fell in love with bucolic Carmel Valley, met his wife and started a family (the couple have two daughters). For the last 12 years Viel has worked as executive chef at Carmel Valley’s iconic Will’s Fargo Steakhouse + Bar.

Chef Viel learned the basics of traditional French cuisine, working with Pierre Estival at Le Métropole in Beaulieu-sur-Mer and at L’Hotel Antares, at Meribel in the French Alps, a one-star Michelin restaurant. He learned Italian influences from Pierre Carrier at the Albert 1er, a two-star Michelin restaurant in Chamonix.

Chef Viel left the French Alps and ended up in another magical place, Corsica, at Hotel Cala Rossa in Porto Vecchio. He then spent two years in Switzerland working between Hotel Des Trois Rois in Basel and with Roland Pierroz, at Le Rosalp in Verbier, where he had the privilege of working alongside some of that country’s most prestigious chefs, including Philippe Rochat and Fredy Girardet.

Give Dad an Experience Gift This Father’s Day- a Hot Air Balloon Ride Over Michigan.

Plymouth, MI, USA (June 1, 2015) — This Father’s Day give Dad a gift he’ll never forget, a hot air balloon ride over Michigan.

“A balloon flight is the perfect gift for most dads because a balloon flight is an ‘experience’ gift, says Scott Lorenz, President and Chief Pilot of Westwind Balloon Company of Plymouth, Michigan.”

“The main reason ‘experience’ gifts are so popular is that in the end all we have are memories and the balloon ride provides a vivid and lasting memory. I have noticed that people really want to make special occasions ‘special’ so they are more interested in collecting experiences than knick-knacks to put on a shelf,” says Lorenz, “and a balloon flight is the perfect experience gift that both dad and mom can enjoy together because each flight is for two people.”

“Nobody forgets their first balloon flight. It is truly an experience that cannot compare to anything else. The sensation of flying over trees, lakes and streams, spotting deer and other wildlife is unique and inspiring. When a gift touches someone both emotionally and on a multi-sensory level people remember who gave it to them. If you really want to make a lasting impression,” says Lorenz, “a hot air balloon ride over Michigan is the ultimate ‘unforgettable’ gift.”

Flights cost $695 for a private ride which is two passengers and the pilot. All flights are pre-paid. Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover and PayPal are accepted. Gift certificates are available.

To really appreciate all the beautiful scenery Michigan has to offer, call a balloonist and schedule a flight today, the view is really better from above!

Dakota Dental is Helping Patients Prevent and Treat Unsightly Cold Sores This Summer

Apple Valley dental clinic Dakota Dental offers information, diagnosis, and treatment of oral health problems such as fever blisters.

Apple Valley, MN, USA (May 28, 2015) — Dakota Dental is pleased to assist clients in preventing and treating cold sores. The Apple Valley dentists are experienced in educating patients on and diagnosing a range of oral health problems including cold sores.

Cold sores, also known as fever blisters, are an outward sign of an inner virus. The herpes simplex virus is highly contagious and is easily transmitted. All it takes to transfer the herpes virus from one person to another is a kiss, a shared eating utensil, or even a communal bathroom towel. Even though this virus is easily transmitted from person to person, it still has no cure.

After the initial manifestation of the virus, it will lie dormant until triggered. Once the virus is triggered, an infected person will feel the tell-tale tingling, itching, and burning sensations of a sore about to appear.

Most cold sores are located on the edges of the lips, but sores can also manifest on the chin and cheeks, in the nostrils, and in the mouth. Once the fluid-filled sores appear, they will eventually burst and crust over. Within about two weeks, the sore will heal and gradually disappear.

What triggers cold sores? It varies by person, but most cold sore flare-ups are caused by triggers such as excess sunlight exposure, illness, or stress. There are some treatments available to reduce the symptoms and to shorten the duration of cold sores. These include prescription and over-the-counter antiviral creams to be applied as soon as symptoms are noticed. Pain killers may also be taken to reduce the discomfort.

At Dakota Dental, the family dentists are very experienced in diagnosing and treating oral health problems such as cold sores. There is no reason to be ashamed of dental health issues – the Dakota Dental dentists in Apple Valley are dedicated to providing support to any person seeking dental care and strive to make every dental service experience positive.

Local Roofing Company Uncovers Unique Piece of Minnesota History

Storm Group Roofing, L.L.C., a Twin Cities roofing contractor, uncovers hundreds of local prohibition-era newspapers in a West Minneapolis home.

Minnesota, MN, USA (April 29, 2015) — A team of roofing contractors from Storm Group Roofing discovered hundreds of 85-year-old newspapers in near-perfect condition while working at a home in the Bryn Mawr neighborhood of Minneapolis. The historic papers, dated between 1928-1930, had been installed as insulation in the two-story home during the same time period.

The papers’ headlines, stories, and advertisements provide a fascinating insight to life in the Twin Cities during prohibition. Some of the trending topics of the day included the rise of radio programming, “autos” that could top 70 M.P.H., and the nationwide ban on alcohol. The various headlines range from sobering (“5-Year-Old Killed By Auto On Snelling Ave.”) while others are more mystifying (“41 Barbers Convicted of Soiled Towel Use”).

The Storm Group Roofing team of roofing contractors recovered and saved over 250 pounds of newspapers printed by The Minneapolis Journal, Minneapolis Sunday Tribune, and Minneapolis Star over eight decades ago. The newspapers had been stitched together and assembled into insulation by Multi-Cell Sales Corporation, a local manufacturing company previously located at 3420 Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis.

“I’ve worked on thousands of homes and businesses and have never seen newspapers used as insulation in this way before,” said Dmitry Lipinskiy, owner of Storm Group Roofing. “The newspapers were used to insulate the entire house and nearly all of them remained perfectly preserved!”

Lipinskiy and his team of Minneapolis roofers uncovered the newspapers while performing various roofing services on the West Minneapolis house built in 1921. The homeowner chose Storm Group Roofing because of the company’s unique solution for attic insulation, a system much more efficient than old newspapers. The roofers removed all of the older newspaper insulation and put in state-of-the-art home insulation in its place while also replacing the home’s damaged roof.

Lipinskiy’s profound appreciation for world history forbade him from disposing of these papers as he typically would with other scrap construction materials. He is currently storing the historic newspapers at the Storm Group Roofing warehouse in Brooklyn Park and hopes to donate them to a museum or historical society.

“Finding these newspapers not only opened my eyes to past home construction practices… but also to a truly special time in the history of Minneapolis,” Lipinskiy said. “I want to share that experience with as many people as possible.”

Author Jane Thompson Releases Her New Novel “Applied Biology: A Novel of Bipolar Disorder”

A young woman with bipolar disorder (manic depression) escapes from Hitler’s euthanasia program and starts a battle to shed light on the procedure. She interests those in power, and sheds light on the crime. Later she runs to England, where she attempts to involve Churchill and Eisenhower in stopping Hitler’s murder, and she ends up in the French Resistance.

Georgetown, TX, USA (March 27, 2015) — Join author Jane Thompson on a journey through the frustrating, agonizing and deeply personal world of mental illness in her new novel, Applied Biology: A Novel of Bipolar Disorder (now available through Amazon and Kindle). Link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Applied-Biology-Novel-Biopolar-Disorder/dp/1507650892.

In a candid style and with compassion for bipolar disorder sufferers, Thompson chronicles the struggles, failures and, ultimate triumphs of her protagonist as she fights for her life as a mentally ill person in a society that believes in the euthanasia of the mentally ill.

“It is the tale of a woman who cheats death and goes up against Hitler, getting those with power to power to speak out against his deadly program,” writes Thompson.

Claudia managed to escape the soldiers who were determined to trap and kill her from the asylum. She goes to work to publicize the ugly truth and Hitler is forced to take his killing program underground.

Claudia escapes Germany and goes to England, where she tries to work through Churchill and Eisenhower to stop Hitler’s reign of terror. Finally, she ends up in the French Resistance where she fights the battle up close and personal. We do not know the end of Claudia’s and her family’s story, but it is a tale of Nazi Germany told from a different perspective, from the inside out.

It details the uphill battle to fight and live in a totalitarian society with your life on the life on the line. It is a suspenseful, humanitarian tale told with humor and grace. All the love Claudia shows to the world is enough to make her a courageous and unforgettable heroine.

The target audience for this novel is those who suffer with this diagnosis and those who love those who are afflicted. It will ultimately teach people courage and hope.

Thompson has worked as a social worker, teacher, paralegal and writer. She holds bachelors and master’s degrees from the University of Oklahoma. Chad Lieberman From 6W Teaches SEO: PPC vs. Organic Marketing

Guru IM Expert Chad Ian Lieberman Reveals the Pros and Cons of Internet Marketing Techniques.

New York City, NY, February 26, 2015 — /REAL TIME PRESS RELEASE/ — Chad Ian Lieberman, the lead Search Engine Optimization (SEO) specialist at 6WSEO, today announced the release of yet another of the company’s awesome SEO trainings on Pay per Click (PPC) marketing versus organic marketing.

The training aims at giving businesses insights on why they should opt for search engine optimization for their business websites, as opposed to going for PPC marketing upfront.

“Unlike PPC, SEO offers a long term traffic solution to a business. With PPC, your traffic stops coming in as soon as your pockets run dry. Of course, if you have very deep pockets, you can go with PPC solely. But it is advisable to take advantage of organic traffic from the search engines because it is easily achievable, keeps flowing for the long term, and is very affordable”, said Chad.

Although the SEO process takes time for the results to be visible, Chad advises that it is the best option if what a business seeks are long-term solutions to its web traffic and visibility problems. Organic traffic is timeless and once it starts coming in, it does not stop. The only time it may stop is if the foundation of your SEO campaigns was not on the right pillars, or if you used black hat techniques to achieve your rankings. These reasons may get your site dropped in the rankings or banned altogether when the search engines update their algorithms.

“For new businesses websites, one may opt to go for both SEO and PPC simultaneously. The PPC brings in instant traffic to the website so that you can kick start the business’ web traffic as you wait for the SEO efforts to yield results. However, as soon as your organic traffic kicks in, you should switch off the PPC campaigns. In any case, the organic traffic, if targeted right, should bring in buyers who help you recover/compensate the PPC costs used”, adds Chad.

You’re never too old to fall in love: Seniors around the country set a new trend

Residents at retirement communities around the country find love in their golden years

Lake Oswego, OR, February 10, 2015 — As Valentine’s Day approaches, seniors across the country who have lost their sweethearts are finding love again—but this time, it is with fellow residents in senior living communities. When introduced into a community of similarly aged seniors – many of whom have already raised families or had long-lasting marriages – these individuals are falling in love. Many are even getting married well into their 80s and 90s. Their heartwarming senior romance stories are an emerging trend and will give you one more reason to believe in love this February.

“After moving into Lakeview Park within just a few weeks of one another, I kept seeing Phil at many of the activities the community offers,” explains Nina, 85, Lakeview Park resident and now a blushing bride-to-be. “We would chat afterwards and started hanging out on our own, and our friendship just grew from there into love. We are quite excited for our wedding in May!”

Seniors today are not sitting idly by; they are engaging with friends, enjoying their favorite hobbies, staying active in their communities, and even finding love. Here are just a few stories of senior romances that have recently bloomed between Holiday Retirement residents:

1. Sparks fly and love blooms in time for the May 2015 wedding at Lakeview Park in Fenton, Missouri
When Nina, 85, decided her home required too much upkeep, she moved into a local senior living community. She never expected that just a few weeks later she would meet her beau Phil, 81. What started as a friendship quickly bloomed into love, and the two will be married among fellow Lakeview Park residents and staff this May.

2. Glee club sparks senior romance at Village Gate of Farmington in Farmington, Connecticut
Cheryl, 58, has called Village Gate her home for five years and is active in the retirement community’s glee club. When Jim, 69, moved in and joined the glee club, he only had eyes for Cheryl, and friendship quickly turned to romance. This senior couple will tie the knot this Valentine’s Day at the senior living community.

3. A city boy and a farm girl find love at Edgewood Downs in Beaverton, Oregon
John, a 90-year-old city boy from San Francisco, met Fran, an 82-year-old farm girl from Iowa, when she bluntly asked what his name was while waiting for the elevator. This moment was the start of a beautiful senior romance; the two began dining together and have been inseparable ever since.

4. Cupid strikes when you least expect it at Edgewood Downs
Neither 72-year-old Judy nor 80-year-old Asher expected to find their sweethearts when they each decided to move to the local independent senior living community. However, Cupid had other plans. After sharing their first dance at Edgewood Downs’ Valentine’s Day Celebration in 2014, these two lovebirds will celebrate their one-year date-anniversary on Saturday.

5. True love strikes at Madrona Hills in Salem, Oregon
Jim, 73, moved into Madrona Hills and was depressed after losing his wife; then Jim met Dina, a spry 79-year-old fellow resident, on a bus trip and his spirits were lifted. The two say they have found true love and enjoy spending time together dancing, shopping, and going to the Elks Club.

While being “young and in love” is something many people yearn for, there is something to be said for the growing number of seniors who are finding love years after they originally thought it was no longer in their life plan. As lifespans lengthen and seniors stay active longer, senior romances continue to have more opportunity to bloom in senior living communities across the U.S.

Learn more about our Valentine’s Day couples at holidaytouch.com/love.

“When many of our residents decide to move into a senior living community, it’s often after the loss of a spouse, and many believe they’ll never find love again,” said Jamison Gosselin, vice president of marketing, communications, and resident enrichment for Holiday Retirement, a provider of more than 300 senior living communities. “In our communities, seniors today are much more active than they have been in the past. We find that after spending mealtimes together, socializing with neighbors, and participating in a whirlwind of daily activities, our residents are quick to make new friends, and some even find romance.”

Looking for a little advice on love and relationships this Valentine’s Day from those who have seen it all? Seniors – centenarians, specifically – shared their advice on love, relationships, and marriage in a recent report, “100 Years of Wisdom: The Perspective of Centenarians.” Request a copy today at 100yearsofwisdom.com.

Meet Author of Love Centered Parenting At Dolphin Bookshop in Port Washington, March 12

Long Island resident, Maria Gavriel, author of Love Centered Parenting will be a special guest at a book signing and discussion hosted by The Dolphin Bookshop in Port Washington, NY on March 12, 2015 from 6:30-8pm. (located at 299 Main Street)

Port Washington, NY, USA (January 22, 2015) — Long Island resident, Maria Gavriel, author of Love Centered Parenting will be a special guest at a book signing and discussion hosted by The Dolphin Bookshop in Port Washington, NY on March 12, 2015 from 6:30-8pm. (located at 299 Main Street)

“The greatest expert on parenting is the parent, and the best support group for raising a child is community.”

That is the key message given by author Maria Gavriel in Love Centered Parenting: Contributing to Your Child’s Wellness by Living From The Heart and Cultivating Your Inner Wisdom (ISBN 978-1-45252-336-1, Balboa Publishing, 2014, $14.99, 190 pages, http://www.LoveCenteredParenting.com).

Part memoir and part parenting guide, Love Centered Parenting challenges parents to learn how to turn up the volume of their inner voice and rely on intuition and inner knowledge when deciding what is best for their child.

This top seller teaches parents how to wholly parent their children on a mental, emotional, physical and spiritual level. It empowers parents to listen to their intuition and reach out to a supportive community when making tough decisions.

Gavriel details her own parenting journey and how she embraced a holistic approach to raising her children. The author opens her book with a candid account of fertility challenges, pregnancy and birth while addressing common concerns such as diet and natural healing. Gavriel encourages all parents to listen to their intuition, whether or not they choose a holistic approach.

In Love Centered Parenting Gavriel relies heavily on her professional research skills as a paralegal for more than a decade to address such important issues as:

• The commercialization of children
• The harm done by media on child development
• The addictive effects of sugar on the child’s brain
• The risks of vaccinating children
• How to make your life free of toxins

“The true and best answers to the challenges of raising a child cannot be found on the internet or from the advice of doctors, counselors, child development experts but are readily available for parents who learn to listen to their inner knowledge and rely on their intuition,” stresses Gavriel. “Ultimately there is no single correct way to parent but a conscious, intuitive way unique to each parent and family. There is no one size fits all so we simply must align with what is right for us.”

Parents often feel lost and ambivalent when it comes to raising their children – whether they are a first time parent, or raising their first teenager, adds Gavriel, but parents who understand that they are innately capable of guiding their children will eventually trust themselves to parent from a place of wisdom.

The findings in Love Centered Parenting are based on 10 years of the author’s meticulous research via books, articles, medical research, internet resources, personal experience, community experience, and conferences, seminars and summits attended.

Kim John Payne, M.Ed. and author of two parenting books, says of Gavriel: “Maria’s path of discovery has achieved something very rare and precious. That she has been willing to share her wisdom with us is a priceless gift.”

More accolades for Love Centered Parenting come from Grady Harp, a Top 100 Amazon Hall of Fame Reviewer who says, “Maria Gavriel could very well become the now generation’s Dr Spock – and that is meant in the most laudatory way. This book is not only about parenting: this book is about life and the way we all should be living it.”

The book signing and discussion with Maria Gavriel is scheduled for March 12, 2015 from 6:30-8pm.

Pinnacle Lust is scheduled to be released this month. This story takes place in Israel during Operation Desert Storm, where an illicit affair leads to great love, betrayal and an unregretful commitment.

Sharon Lapidot, is a beautiful young nurse who falls deeper and deeper into an affair with a married doctor. Her world is shattered by powerful and eroding mistakes, but her courage leads her to an unregretful commitment in a land far from home. It is only eighteen years later when her daughter discovers that the man who raised her is not her biological father.

In explaining her career shift from nurse to writer, Dim-St. Pierre says, “The nurse in me is sealed in my heart-it is me. I believe that the right time to change careers is when you reach the pinnacle. In my case it was even better, my nursing career inspired me to write.”

The final push to write Pinnacle Lust came when the author was vacationing in Hawaii. “I wanted to read something that felt authentic and real… not a Cinderella story… I wanted more of a resemblance to real life in my reading material, so I decided to try my hand at writing such a story.”

Besides the affair between nurse and doctor, Pinnacle Lust deals with:
• The power of love in a woman’s life and the resilience of the human spirit.
• The real, raw emotions of an escalating affair – the duality of love and hate, lust and anger.
• The culture in Israel and how the Jewish religion factors into that with the dichotomy of the religious and the secular Jews.
• The effect of Operation Desert Storm on everyday life in Israel.

Dim-St. Pierre’s nursing career, alongside her personal experience of having lived in Israel during Operation Desert Storm, is reflected in her writing.

Michelle wove many of those firsthand experiences into Pinnacle Lust which she says steers the reader to this truth: “Life doesn’t always work out the way you want it to, but the human spirit is resilient and can survive and flourish given enough time. That love outlasts everything.”
