San Rafael, CA, August 25, 2012 — (For Immediate Release) Contact: Tom Andrews, 415/507-9962

Single professionals of all ages with a Doctorate or Master’s Degree are invited to meet new single friends, Thursday, September 20, 2011, 7-9pm. “Only 7% of the adult population in the U.S. has an advanced degree,” says Rich Gosse, Chairman of The Society of Single Professionals, the world’s largest non-profit singles organization, “so it’s tough to meet friends on your own educational level. Single women with advanced degrees find it particularly difficult to find a romantic partner, because most men are intimidated by highly intelligent, well-educated women. That’s why we schedule this party. Single Professionals with advanced degrees deserve the opportunity to meet their peers. Studies have revealed that marriages are most likely to survive if both spouses share the same educational level.

“This year’s Advanced Degrees Party takes place during National Singles Week, September 16 – 22, 2012, the only week dedicated to the recognition of the special contributions of all singles,” says Mr. Gosse. “The first National Singles Week was in 1982. The week has been declared by official proclamation of Governors throughout America, and is listed in Chase’s Calendar of Events, a directory of such events for the country.”

Rich Gosse is the author of eight books on dating, including You CAN Hurry Love, Singles Guide to the Bay Area, and A Good Man Is EASY to Find (“This is a great book! Oprah Winfrey). Inspirational Religious Book by Sarah Udoh-Grossfurthner Released World-Wide

Breakout Non-Fiction Work Titled, “BUT HE CALLS ME BLESSED! When the Unbelievable Happens to Believers”, an Inspirational Religious Book by Sarah Udoh-Grossfurthner Released World-Wide.

Vienna, Austria (August 25, 2012) — At the age of 15 Rhea, a young Christian girl, was raped by a gang of gun-wielding robbers during a church convention. There followed 18 years of extreme psychological trauma during which Rhea went from loving God (as she had been brought up to by her deeply religious parents) to hating Him with a passion. According to Rhea, at one point in her life only the loathing she developed for her own self could equal her hatred for God and all things godly. This hatred, she said, was so virulent that it became an ordeal to take a simple bath, as she could not stand to touch herself. How Rhea went from this awful extreme back to loving God all over again is woven by Sarah in this pain-filled but extremely inspirational narration.

Rhea’s is just one of the five remarkable stories in Sarah Udoh-Grossfurthner’s, BUT HE CALLS ME BLESSED! When the Unbelievable Happens to Believers – ISBN 9781622870387. The book aims to encourage by showing that it is possible to have hope even in the most desperate of situations. According to Sarah, “There’s always a nugget of wisdom to be derived from any given situation, it all depends on who’s doing the mining.”

What readers have to say about Sarah’s book…

“The stories are amazing. They are crafted in such a way that the reader is drawn into the depths of desire, despair, hope, faith and resilience. I was particularly moved by “Silvana’s Story”. I just could not put it down till I’d finished the story.” — Uduak-Abasi Akpabio, Nigeria.

“I read these stories and they invoked such an array of emotions for me ranging from anger to sadness to joy. To make it short and sweet, you cannot read these stories without feeling something because the writer causes or enables you to almost step into the lives of these women and share their journey…totally emotive and faith stirring!” — Taiwo Adegbite, London.

More on what Sarah has to say concerning her book…
“The solutions to other people’s suffering can often times be culled from the experiences of others. Irrespective of their religious orientation, race or position within the society, it is my greatest wish that many lives will be changed for the better as a result of this book. There’s one truism, and it is that there’s more that unites all humanity than that which divides them.

“In conclusion, the real heroes of our world are often the voiceless of our society. I am honored to be the voice of the women in this book.”

Sarah’s first prose release, BUT HE CALLS ME BLESSED! is available in eBook form, ISBN 9781622870387, through Amazon.com, BN.com and wherever eBooks are sold on-line.

Sarah Udoh-Grossfurthner, an Austrian Citizen by marriage, was born in southern Nigeria into a loving and close-knit family. She holds a BA (honors) in Diplomatic Studies and MA in Professional Writing. She is blessed with two children who in her words, “are my joy, my hope, my inspiration and the light that brightens the pathways of my life.” Sarah lives and writes in Vienna.

The Last Night of the Proms Comes to an Olympic-Slanted Close in 2012

The closing event of the world’s greatest classical musical festival will this year feature an Olympic Fanfare from American composer, conductor and pianist John Towner Williams. The Last Night of the Proms will coincide with the final weekend of the Paralympic Games and the end to this great summer of British regalia and sport.

The Last Night of the Proms, on 8 September at the Royal Albert Hall, is the most popular and widely accessible concert of the BBC Proms. It followers a lighter note, appealing to more popular tastes with British favourites such as Jerusalem and the National Anthem interspersed with classical masterpieces.

Tickets for the event are hard to come by – most are presold via ballot well in advance – but a limited number of standing tickets will be available on the night for £5 each.

The BBC Proms in Park offers an alternative. Taking place in Hyde Park at the same times as the Last Night of the Proms, this event will feature Alfie Boe , Il Divo, Kylie, Royal Choral Society, BBC Concert Orchestra and London Gospel Choir all presented by Sir Terry Wogan. Gates open at 3.30pm and tickets are priced at £35.

To avoid travelling unnecessary distances to and from Hyde Park and the Royal Albert Hall LondonTown suggests using its new hotel search and booking feature: HotelMap.

HotelMap can make finding and booking hotels near Hyde Park quick and easy. HotelMap displays all of London ‘s hotels on an easy-to-use map of the capital. Users can drop and drag the map to find their desired location or they can use the ‘find’ facility to search for a particular landmark, hotel, tube station or area. Users can filter on price, and all hotels will be displayed with star rating, discounts and current rate for the date searched. Users can book directly through HotelMap without incurring any costs.

Two hotels available on 8 September close to the Royal Albert Hall and Hyde Park are the NH Harrington Hall and the Grange Strathmore Hotel. Both are four-star properties located just a few minutes’ walk from the Royal Albert Hall and Hyde Park; prices start at £135 per room, per night for the NH Harrington Hall and £99 per room, per night for the Grange Strathmore Hotel.

The Mayor’s Thames Festival Gets an Olympic Boost This Year

Every September the Mayor’s Thames Festival celebrates the continued importance of the River Thames. This year this free event is getting an Olympic boost as it coincides with the Olympic Closing ceremony bringing an end to the Paralympic Games. This boost comes in the form of a euphoric atmosphere, bigger crowds and even more live riverside performances.

Over the course of this two-day event, from 8-9 September, there will be street entertainment, art installations, music and dancing dotted along the Thames riverbank between Westminster Bridge and Tower Bridge. The spectacular finale will be a show-stopping fireworks display eating through more than one ton or pyrotechnics in just 10 minutes.

Despite being one of London ‘s biggest and greatest free events, it is one of the lesser-known happenings outside of the capital. This year the extra publicity given to the event due to its Olympic tie-up should elevate its status outside of the capital.

For visitors to London LondonTown.com is advising booking accommodation early to avoid disappointment. LondonTown.com has secured exclusive online discounts at some of the most luxurious, centrally located hotels in London including the four-star Crowne Plaza London The City and the exclusive Me London Hotel, a five-star property in Covent Garden.

Rooms at the modern, spacious Crowne Plaza London The City start at £117 per night and it boasts an enviable location just minutes from the Thames and right in the middle of all the action. There are babysitting and crib facilities available for families and a late checkout time of 12pm.

The Me Hotel is an ultra-high end property in the heart of theatreland that opened last month. This lavish hotel has floor-to-ceiling windows and a rooftop bar, both ideal spots for viewing the fireworks display. If you want to escape somewhere quieter, the marble-lined champagne bar is perfect. Due to the high-end nature of this property room rates are higher. Prices start at £500 per night including a discount from LondonTown.com.

London Hotels Cut Prices for Hyde Park Proms Event

The world-famous Last Night of the Proms will be shown at special outdoor events all over the UK, as Proms in the Park returns this September 8th.

Living up to the popular perception of the closing night as classical music for the masses, the celebrations are to be screened in Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff and, most famously, Hyde Park. Each screening of the action from the Royal Albert Hall will be built around a live concert, featuring appearances from major artists, both classical and pop.

London’s Proms in the Park is offering more than five hours of music, hosted by Sir Terry Wogan and featuring pintsized pop star Kylie Minogue. Other acts include Alfie Boe, Il Divo, the Royal Choral Society and the BBC Orchestra.

The show starts at 5.15pm. Tickets cost £35 and are available via LondonTown.com. The website is also offering major discounts on London hotels in the area, many of them within easy walking distance of Hyde Park.

The Thistle Marble Arch Hotel is among the London hotels on offer, with a 91% discount available for early bookings on double rooms. The reduction brings the cost of a night’s stay in this very smart West London hotel down to just £90. The hotel is around ten minutes walk from Hyde Park, at the end of Oxford Street.

The four star Lancaster London Hotel, on Lancaster Terrace, offers an exceptional location overlooking Hyde Park and is currently offering a 70% reduction on deluxe double rooms, bringing the nightly rate down to £159.

See LondonTown.com for more information on Proms in the Park, and to view more discounted London hotels.
