Ashley J Announces her New Empowering and Energetic Pop Single, “Unbreakable,” Releasing 10/6/17!

On October 6, 2017 Ashley J will return with her new follow-up pop single “Unbreakable,” the second single from Ashley’s forthcoming EP, slated for an early 2018 release.

Orlando, FL, September 25, 2017 – On October 6, 2017 Ashley J will return with her new follow-up pop single “Unbreakable,” the second single from Ashley’s forthcoming EP, slated for an early 2018 release. “Trapped,” her first single and video received tremendous media praise and hit #6 on the European Independent Music Charts. “Unbreakable” will be released via her own imprint Bombshell Music, Inc.

The Orlando based songwriter/singer showcases her independent and liberating lyrical style in her new song, “Unbreakable.” She collaborated with UK’s established producers, Jamie Sellers and Warwick Matthews to produce this buoyant new track. Ashley’s airy and enticing vocals weave through dreamy piano melodies and bouncy synths. This light-hearted single takes listeners on an uplifting journey and showcases Ashley’s authentic pop style.

“I wrote and recorded ‘Unbreakable’ in London. It was one of my favorite writing sessions because their energy was so natural. The song literally wrote itself and came alive in the studio. I was just ending a relationship and this song was my final phase of getting through it. I found an undeniable power within, and channeled it with this song that closed the chapter and opened a new one at the same time. This will forever be one of my favorites,” says Ashley J.

“Unbreakable,” focuses on overcoming heartbreak and moving on for the better. She chronicles past experiences, noting that she has been through a lot. However she now knows better and is going to make her heart “unbreakable.” This empowering song is intended to encourage and enable women to be free and embrace their independence.

This writing technique is definitely no stranger to Ashley J; she revealed it in the past with her hit single, “Dare Ya” which earned her a Top 10 Billboard chart spot in 2016. The following year, Ashley J unraveled a different side to her storytelling with her single “Trapped.” The song described a dark infatuation with a partner whom she couldn’t break free from, which was released earlier this year. “Trapped” continues to climb the European Independent Music Charts, reaching a sweet spot of #2.

About Ashley J:

Growing up in Orlando, the multi-talented songwriter/singer was influenced by Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and her all time musical hero, Dolly Parton, Ashley J started songwriting and singing at a very early age. Her musical style intertwines unapologetic pop with enticing electronic melodies. She earned a BA degree in Business Law from the University of North Texas and attended the Dr. Phillips High School of Performing Arts in Orlando, where she scored leading roles in theatre, dance and musical productions.

Artemis Restaurant in Carmel Features the Best Dishes of the Mediterranean, from Italy and Spain to Turkey and More

The Mediterranean is at the intersection of Asia and Europe, with the world’s earliest civilizations forming centuries ago on the borders of the Mediterranean Sea.

Carmel, CA, September 25, 2017 — The Mediterranean is at the intersection of Asia and Europe, with the world’s earliest civilizations forming centuries ago on the borders of the Mediterranean Sea. Traders sailing the sea and traveling overland exchanged a bounty of commodities, including spices, herbs, vegetables, meats and other foods, resulting in the wide dispersal of certain ingredients that became the basis for many ethnic cuisines in the vast region.

But while they share many common ingredients, Mediterranean cuisine isn’t the product of one ethnic group or culture, but a product of many influences, exchanges and culinary trends shared by a wide variety of peoples and cultures around the Mediterranean Sea.

Artemis restaurant in Carmel is the epitome of the global nature of Mediterranean cuisine, drawing inspiration from a rich and diverse tradition that spans the entire region, from Southern Europe to the Eastern Mediterranean.

While savory Turkish dishes still form the centerpiece of this burgeoning new culinary gem in the heart of Carmel, dishes from other Mediterranean countries such as Greece, Italy, France, Spain and Morocco and others also star in Artemis’ revised new menu.

“As a result of customer feedback, we’ve made revisions on the menu since we first opened,” says Artemis manager Sara Allen. “We wanted to be more open for more people to enjoy our food.”

So they added a few new favorite dishes and simplified the language on the menu, which customers found hard to remember and often difficult to pronounce — dishes such as piyaz (a traditional Turkish salad made with beans, onion, parsley and sumac) and kizartma (an eggplant dish with tomatoes, onion and garlic), to name but a few. But what didn’t change was the basic nature of the food.

“The focus here is on real Mediterranean food, made and served as it is over there,” says owner Erkan Demir, who started in Carmel with businesses selling boots, leather jackets and carpets. “It’s all homemade food, from scratch, all seasonal, organic when we can, fresh and very healthy. The bottom line is that it’s 100% honest food.”

Demir, like his Executive Chef Mustafa Yuzer, is a native of Istanbul, Turkey.

When it first opened in March 2017, the 40-seat Artemis (then called Artemis Turkish Kitchen) got rave reviews from local food writers and reviewers.

“Artemis Turkish Kitchen is bound to be one of those Carmel establishments that stays put. It’s classy, the food is delicious and the owner – Erkan Demir – knows his way around the town’s bustling businesses as much as he does his native fare,” wrote Taryn Yudaken of the Monterey Weekly.

The restaurant was a hit coming out of the gates, but Demir and his staff felt that the emphasis on Turkish cuisine and the confusing and hard-to-pronounce names of the dishes may have intimidated or discouraged some potential customers.

So items such as “meze tabagi,” a medley of eight cold appetizers, became the Artemis Sampler and “cevizli ezme,” a signature concoction of walnuts, tomato, cumin, garlic and Turkish red pepper paste, is now the Walnut Ezme. Simple and direct.

The dinner entrees still retain favorites such as shish kabob, moussaka, stuffed eggplant, miniature beef patties called kofte and lamb chops or kuzu pirzola, but also other Mediterranean favorites such as spaghetti, seafood pasta, fettuccine with lamb ragu, sea bass and grilled salmon.

Plus, Artemis has a small selection of Turkish wines and a number of healthy vegetarian options, including salads, lentil soup (“Best in Town!” the menu exclaims) appetizers, cauliflower gratin, vegetable medley, falafel plate with rice and salad, vegan eggplant, and veggie wraps. Artemis buys and uses organic produce when possible.

Artemis is also open for lunch with several items from the dinner menu available, so hesitant diners can get a sneak preview of dinner to see if they want to venture into deeper waters, as it were. Demir’s recommendation is simple: “Try us, you’ll like us.”

“People who come in and eat here, they love it,” he says. “They can’t believe there’s a restaurant like this in Carmel. Once they come in, they love it.”

And getting better every day.

Or as reviewer Yudaken wrote: “Things are still getting better here all the time, but everything flows so well that most could never tell there was much room to get better.”

Artemis is located at Ocean Avenue and Mission Street, in Carmel-by-the-Sea.

Hours are 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. for lunch and 5:30–10 p.m. for dinner. For more information, call (831) 574-8991 or go to www.artemiscarmel.com.

Souleye, New Age Hip Hop Rapper, Announces the Eagerly Awaited Album: WILDMAN Releasing September 22, 2017!

On September 22, 2017, veteran hip-hop rapper Souleye will release his long awaited full-length record, Wildman.

Los Angeles, CA, September 20, 2017 – On September 22, 2017, veteran hip-hop rapper Souleye will release his long awaited full-length record, Wildman. The Los Angeles based artist teamed up with house duo Crush Effect, comprising of Jess Molloy and Dave Veith, to produce an exceptionally eye-opening hip-hop and electronic fused album.

Wildman represents a mindful and musically engaging listening experience. A socially conscious artist, Souleye delivers an innovative and intense lyric flow that drips with passion. His clever references outline a positive sense of being. In “Follow Your Heart,” the debut single from Wildman, Souleye discusses overcoming hesitations with self-awareness and self-motivation in order to follow your own passions. His rhythmic lines weave in and out of the down-tempo grooves and musical stylings of Crush Effect. Molloy and Veith blend elements of electronic, R & B, hip hop, and trip-hop to create a psychedelic and atmospheric album that occupies the space between a traditional compilation record and a concept album.

“One of the reasons so many pop and hip hop albums don’t sound cohesive is that those 12 tracks were recorded in 12 different studios with 12 different producers,” says Veith, of Crush Effect. “It was nice to do a full record, to build that sound from song to song.”

In addition to Crush Effect, the album features guest appearances by an array of upcoming and renowned artists, incorporating fresh, melodic hooks into each song. The album includes focus tracks such as, “Snow Angel” (Ft. Alanis Morissette), “Hip Hop Medicine” (Ft. Dustin Tavella), “Classic” (Ft. Chantal Kreviazuk, Chachillie), “Fountain of Youth” (Ft. Wade Morissette) and the latest single and title-track, “Wildman” (Ft. Lynx).

Souleye is a one-of-a-kind artist making a statement in the hip hop and electronic scene. He continues to shape his signature style with inspiring and poetic rhymes. His carefully selected collaborators offer creative instrumentation that only enhances Souleye’s enlightened lyrics.

About Souleye

Souleye’s musical journey began when he was a teenager in rural Massachusetts, freestyling around a camp fire to entertain his friends. Blending traditional elements of hip hop, EDM and numerous other styles; Souleye’s music crosses the boundaries of genre, defies convention and inspires listeners with uplifting lyrics coupled with both traditional and unusual hip hop beats and samples. His first album, Soul Sessions was released in 2002. Since then, Souleye has released eight studio albums and numerous singles. Souleye has toured extensively with Bassnectar, shared the stage with the Glitch Mob, Tipper, Michael Franti and his wife, Alanis Morissette, with whom he has two children. A Universal Message of Kindness in the Debut Children’s Story “The Christmas Tree Nobody Wanted”

First time children’s author Jerry Rosenstein brings to life a message of kindness, creativity and generosity with his story of Jeffrey and his father.

Los Angeles, CA (USA), September 16th, 2017 — In a time where news tends to vacillate between political division and natural disasters comes a sweet, children’s story that transcends season, age and ethnicity. First time children’s author Jerry Rosenstein brings to life a message of kindness, creativity and generosity with his story of Jeffrey and his father. Although Jeffrey excitedly awaits the wonders of Christmas, he is also aware of those less fortunate and thus begins his tale of giving.

“I wanted to create a story that helped parents talk with their children about the benefits of giving to those less fortunate,” said author Jerry Rosenstein. “It starts with a real experience I had with my children in which we wondered what happened to the left over trees that have been cut down for Christmas. Like the character Jeffrey, we wondered what would happen if we spruced those trees up to give to someone who otherwise might not have a decorated tree for the holidays.”

That simple act is the foundation of the powerful message Rosenstein hopes parents impart on their children. Everyone deserves to have a sense of peace; a sense of trust in the fact that they know where their next meal will come from and that they’ll have a roof over their heads. For those who are less fortunate, we can come together and make a difference. Every little action of kindness can have a powerful and life altering impact.

“The Christmas Tree Nobody Wanted” will inspire children to ask the question – ‘what can I do to help’ and hopefully will create a parent/child bonding time like Jeffrey has with his father as they work together to fix and deliver the Christmas tree.

“I am hoping to spark an interest in what it means to give rather than receive,” said Rosenstein. “Perhaps parents will find ways to instill a sense of generosity in their children; taking them to the food bank to deliver food, perhaps going through their own toys and donate those gently used and yes, find a Christmas Tree nobody wants to decorate and give to someone less fortunate.”

“The message of kindness and giving is so important today,” said Lisa Umina, founder and president of Halo Publishing International. “This story is one that I hope parents will read to their children long after the holiday season is over for the needs will continue. Creating a lifetime habit of giving is a gift that we should all impart on our children.”

The author, who has a child with multiple myeloma, plans to donate a portion of the proceeds to one of the cancer-oriented hospitals in the Los Angeles area. Additionally, if a non-profit organization is interested in using “The Christmas Tree Nobody Wanted” for fund raising, contact Jerry Rosenstein directly for more information on potential opportunities. jrosenstein@pioneermagnetics.com

“The Christmas Tree Nobody Wanted” is now available at Halo Publishing, Amazon and Barnes and Noble, in hardcover for $19.95 paperback for $12.95 and as an e-book $6.95.

Gripping Novel “The Guardian of Aurum” Explores the Under World of Gold Mining

You are faced with a decision. Continue along the path of right and good or allow yourself to be enticed by the wealth and opportunities that are possible if you chose the alternative.

Mexico City, Mexico, September 16th, 2017 — You are faced with a decision. Continue along the path of right and good or allow yourself to be enticed by the wealth and opportunities that are possible if you chose the alternative. This is the crux of the intense drama that surrounds the leading character, Aline Belanger, Canadian national, Security expert and one of the first female security officers in the world of gold mining.

“Few people are ever exposed to the world of mining and the behind-the-scenes details that are involved with protecting personnel, assets and the reputation of a company in a hostile environment,” said author Allan Julius (A.J.) Behul. “I wanted to incorporate my own experiences in the industry to create an exciting and dangerous story with a strong female lead that readers will hopefully, relate to.”

Throughout history there have been instances where organized crime, violence, and military action are involved in the world of gold mining. The author creates an intricate blend of fact and fiction in his storyline, where one flows into the other, leaving the reader to their own perspicacity as to what is real and what is not.

The fine line between good and evil is examined closely and as the story progresses the differences between the two become hard to distinguish. As Aline is torn between the two, the reader will find themselves understanding her internal struggle and wonder how they would respond if faced with similar circumstances. As one reader said:

“There is so much negative around Aline. There is organized crime, violence, and lawlessness. Then there are the employee executions, kidnappings, extortions, and fraud everywhere she turns. It is a climate where no one can trust anyone and everyone appears suspicious and out of line. If this isn’t bad enough there is the case of the forty-three missing students on the doorstep of one of the mines. No one knows where they got to and the whole company is sent into disarray.”

“I had no idea of the danger involved in the process of gold mining,” said Lisa Umina, founder and president of Halo Publishing International. “This book was a gripping novel that kept me engaged until the very last moment where good finally triumphs and we are left to believe in the power of right.”

Readers will be on the edge of their seat, finding it hard to put down this fast-paced page-turner from first time fiction author Behul. He is currently at work creating his next adventure involving the quest for immortality in a modern society that may not yet be ready for such a discovery.

“The Guardian of Aurum” is now available at Halo Publishing, Amazon and Barnes and Noble, in paperback for $15.95 and as an e-book $4.95. “The Guardian of Aurum” is also available in Spanish, authentically translated by the author.

FED Publishing Releases New Book, “American Prisons: A Critical Primer on Culture and Conversion to Islam” by SpearIt

American Prisons: A Critical Primer on Culture and Conversion to Islam, by SpearIt, takes a sober look at our prison system, the 700,000 inmates released annually and their communities.

Houston, TX, USA — SpearIt’s American Prisons: A Critical Primer on Culture and Conversion to Islam is a critical exploration of prisons in contemporary America. Paying special attention to race and Islam, the work draws on a range of data and sources, including interviews and written correspondence with current and ex-prisoners, documentary research, and congressional hearings on topics that include criminal justice and religion, culture, conversion, radicalization, and reform.

“The overarching message of my anthology, American Prisons: A Critical Primer on Culture and Conversion to Islam, is that problems in prison are not isolated from society, and unlike the Las Vegas slogan, what happens in prison doesn’t stay in prison. Prisons are not neatly cornered off from society, but rather, are partners in toxic relationships with the communities to which ex-prisoners return.”

SpearIt is an Associate Professor of Law at Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Texas Southern University. He has taught for the Prison University Project at California’s death-row facility, San Quentin State Prison, as well as taught Corrections Law at Saint Louis University School of Law, in addition to serving on the Advisory Board of the Prison Program–a program that offers courses to both inmates and staff. He is currently active in the American Bar Association’s Corrections Committee and its work to restore Pell Grant Funding for prisoners.

FED Publishing Releases New Book, “The Silver Mosaic, a Winston Churchill 1930s Thriller” by Michael McMenamin & Patrick McMenamin

The Silver Mosaic, a Winston Churchill 1930s Thriller, by Michael McMenamin & Patrick McMenamin continues their award-winning series with a new, action-packed story of conspiracy and intrigue concerning the Jewish-inspired, world-wide boycott of German exports after the Nazis take power in early 1933.

Cleveland, OH, USA — In March 1933, the weak German economy is in peril. Winston Churchill wants to push it over the cliff with a boycott of German exports and take with it the new Nazi government whose brown-shirted SA thugs are terrorizing Germany’s Jews.

Working with Cleveland’s Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver, present in Berlin the day Hitler took office, Churchill enlists the help of his goddaughter, Hearst photojournalist Mattie McGary, and her fiancé, ex-US Army intelligence agent Bourke Cockran. Mattie sets out to discover and expose the Nazis’ secret plan to defeat the boycott while Silver and Churchill send Cockran to Prague to retrieve microfilm of confidential customer data stolen from German exporters by anti-Nazi German patriots. Using it, foreign competitors can undercut German exports with lower prices.

The Nazis fight back and enlist two unlikely allies: the new US president Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the Jewish Authority in Palestine. FDR opposes the boycott because of the damage it will do to American investors if the Germany economy crashes. The Jewish Authority plans to sell out the boycott in exchange for the Nazis allowing German Jews to emigrate to Palestine with funds in excess of German currency controls. Nazi, Jewish and American MID agents then join forces to wage a deadly battle against Mattie and Çockran that takes them from New York to London, Paris, Berlin, Budapest, Prague, Copenhagen, and Stockholm.

Michael McMenamin is the author of the critically acclaimed Becoming Winston Churchill, The Untold Story of Young Winston and His American Mentor. His son Patrick McMenamin is an award-winning journalist who has produced stories for ABC News, Fox News and HuffPost. The first four novels in their 1930s era “Winston Churchill Thriller” series received a total of 14 literary awards. The Silver Mosaic is their fifth Winston Churchill Thriller and they are currently at work on their sixth, The Liebold Protocol.

Westwind Balloon Co. Presents Michigan’s Fall Color Tour From a Hot Air Balloon

“Michigan fall colors are spectacular flying OVER tree tops in a hot air balloon,” says Scott Lorenz, President and Chief Pilot of Westwind Balloon Company of Plymouth, Michigan.

Ann Arbor, MI, USA — Michigan’s fall color season is fast approaching and there’s no better way to see the colors than from a hot air balloon. Hot air balloonists offer a stunning platform from which to enjoy this once a year feast for the eyes. “Michigan fall colors are spectacular flying OVER tree tops in a hot air balloon,” says Scott Lorenz, President and Chief Pilot of Westwind Balloon Company of Plymouth, Michigan. (http://www.AboveMichigan.com)

“The palate of colors just takes your breath away,” says Lorenz “I love taking photos from the balloon especially when we fly over Island Lake State Park, it’s fabulous, it’s ten times better than driving. People just have no idea how pretty it is until they get above it.”

“Want to get a preview of a flight?” asks Lorenz, “I put together of some of our fall color flights. The views are incredible as we glide over canopy of trees. There’s no better way to enjoy Michigan’s fall colors than from a hot air balloon.” Check out a fall color flight with WDIV-TV of Detroit at: http://youtu.be/DzOMvjEgX-U

Most hot air balloon rides in Michigan last about one hour and Lorenz flies over the woods and streams of Kensington Park and Island Lake State Park. He and several other pilot friends meet at Park ‘n Ride area off Milford Road and I-96 (exit # 155) about 2 1/2 hours before sunset. From there he’ll launch helium balloons, determine the wind direction, then take a short drive to one of nine launch sites in the area that give the best views and best landing sites downwind.

What to wear? Lorenz suggests passengers wear tennis shoes and jeans. He says the air temp “upstairs” is within a couple degrees of ground temp so it’s not a factor. Cameras and video cameras are highly recommended to preserve the once in a lifetime moments while flying over the countryside.

Since fall color balloon flights are popular Lorenz suggests people call now to reserve a spot. Flights cost $695 for a private ride which is two passengers and the pilot. All flights are pre-paid. Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover and PayPal are accepted. Gift certificates are available.

To really appreciate all of the fall color that Michigan has to offer, call a balloonist and schedule a flight today, the view is really better from above! Fall Color Video URL: http://youtu.be/1R-QsurhW6M

First in the Series “Licensed to Steele” is a Wild Bank Heist Adventure from Beginning to End

Author Noland Mattocks wanted to create an entertaining story that held reader’s attention without getting too serious or bogged down by so many details that you lose site of the story.

San Antonio, TX (USA), September 1st, 2017 — Have you ever stood in line at the bank, looked around and thought, I wonder what it would be like to rob this bank? How hard could it be? What would I do with the money? Author Noland Mattocks had similar thoughts and put his plans for bank robbery into the hands of Cameron Steele, stock broker, beach lover and fictional character. Readers will delight in the escapades of Steele as he tries to stay ahead of the FBI while losing his heart to bank teller Chloe.

“It was while talking to the branch manager, who had just experienced a bank robbery, that I came up with, what I thought was a fool-proof plan for robbing a bank,” said author Noland Mattocks. “I told my idea to her and she thought it was brilliant. I wasn’t really going to rob the bank but knew the idea was just too good pass on and thus Cameron Steele was born.”

Mattocks wanted to create an entertaining story that held reader’s attention without getting too serious or bogged down by so many details that you lose site of the story.

“I’m picturing readers sitting on the beach, a cool beverage in one hand and a copy of my book in the other,” said Mattocks. “I guarantee you won’t learn anything but my hope is that you will be entertained.”

Mattocks has spent several years working in the financial world and over the years has come to learn about the inner workings of the banking business. His characters and their situations are believable without giving away state secrets. “Licensed to Steele” is the first in a series of fiction, adventure stories that feature Cameron Steele and his love Chloe. The question remains, will he go straight, as he promises his love, or will the temptations of white collar crime continue to intrigue him? Only the reader will know for sure.

“I thought I knew the story before I began writing,” said Mattocks. “I had an outline and began working through fleshing out the characters and story but about 60% of the way into the book the whole story got away from me. Cameron, Chloe and Agent Rickard had their own ideas of what would happen and I found myself along for the ride. Frankly, if readers have half the fun reading this book as I did writing it, I’ll be thrilled.

Early reviews are already praising Mattocks’ book as a ‘must read’:
* ”Incredibly detailed, well thought out fun read. A real guilty pleasure. Can’t wait for the movie!” Lisa B.
* “Fast paced, brilliantly written page turner! A world that truly comes to life. You won’t put this down!” Molly N.
* “Grips your attention from the start. Grab a seat as you are in for a ride!” Kevin R.
* “A fresh new storyteller has arrived and his name is Noland Mattocks.” Jonathan H.
* “Pure adrenaline rush! Makes you wonder what would you do?” Katherine R.
