This makes it possible for Jaguar owners to join the other happy convertible owners and enjoy the convenience of being able to raise and lower the top with just a quick push of a button as well as from afar with the original factory key remote.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), September 01, 2014 — Before the end of this year the after-market SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller developed and marketed by Mods4cars will be available for the Jaguar F-Type. It allows full automatic one-touch top operation. A quick, single touch of the console switch is enough to raise or lower the top. It is no longer necessary to hold down the switch and wait for the top to finish. Additionally, the module will automatically raise the windows if desired.

With the SmartTOP kit installed it is also possible to control the top from a distance, using just the original key fob remote. A quick key combination on the fob activates full automatic top operation. This makes it possible to already lower the top while still approaching the car; a very useful feature on hot days to air out the car. Among other features, the SmartTOP module allows one-touch operation of the convertible top while driving at slow speeds as well as controlling the top from the original factory key fob remote.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), May 26th, 2014 — Aftermarket automotive electronics specialist Mods4cars revamped the design of the SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller modules. Just in time for the upcoming convertible season 2014 the SmartTOP module for Volkswagen EOS received the facelift product enclosure. The enclosure was exclusively and custom designed by Mods4cars for this product.

“The new design is not just an improvement in esthetics. It also makes installation much easier for our customers” says PR-Manager Sven Tornow. The new enclosure houses two LEDs that show current status, correct connections or trouble codes during installation. “Additionally the new SmartTOP enclosure is 30% smaller in volume and slimmer. Additionally it is possible to control the top from a distance by just using the supplied factory remote fobs. Walking toward their EOS, customers can already start opening the top and drive off with the top down. Sudden rainfall is no longer a reason to run to the car, instead the top can be conveniently closed from a distance.

Along with these two main features there is a host of bonus features present in the module, all of which are user programmable. It is possible to separately control the windows from the remote, activate a quick chirp signal when locking or unlocking the car and the hazard blinkers can be activated during remote operation.

The direction of the top switch can be reversed and it is possible to override the trailer lockout and use the top with attached trailer. A park assist feature lowers the passenger mirror when in reverse and starting or stopping the engine will not stop an ongoing top operation when in extended mode. The entire module can also be temporarily disabled while retaining all user settings.

All features can be configured and the product can be updated via USB connection and PC/Mac computer software available free of charge online. Updates for the product firmware are also free of charge for the life of the product.

Instead of pulling to lower and pushing to raise the top, the direction can be reversed to work in a much more intuitive way, if desired.
