Overindulge on St. Patrick’s Day? A Spoonful or Two of Honey Can Help Make That Hangover Go Bye-Bye!

Had a little too much fun on St. Patrick’s Day? Well, relief is just an arm’s length away in your own cupboard. There’s a sweet and simple cure for a hangover — honey. Yes, honey.

Carmel, CA, March 01, 2017 – Had a little too much fun on St. Patrick’s Day? Well, relief is just an arm’s length away in your own cupboard. There’s a sweet and simple cure for a hangover — honey. Yes, honey.

Honey is touted by natural health advocates and scientists alike for its ability to aid the body in quickly breaking down all the green beer and Irish whiskey you consumed on St. Paddy’s Day.

Hangovers are uncomfortable, because of the way the alcohol breaks down in your body, according to Dr. John Emsley of the Royal Society of Chemistry. It first turns into a substance called acetaldehyde, which has toxic effects on the body.

Emsley says that alcohol creates the euphoric feeling associated with drinking it, while the acetaldehyde is what causes the dire symptoms of a hangover.

Alcohol is converted into acetaldehyde, which causes the nausea, possible vomiting and headache suffered in a hangover.

But how does honey help a hangover?

Honey doesn’t “cure” a hangover. And total prevention of a hangover is only possible by not having those green beers in the first place! But honey does help with the symptoms.

Honey helps with a hangover in part because it provides sodium and potassium to your system, which helps it deal more effectively with the alcohol.

In addition, honey provides fructose that helps your liver more readily metabolize the alcohol into your body, thus ending the hangover period faster.

So honey, and lots of rest, are among the best cures for that throbbing headache and nausea.

Some people find that honey on a piece of toast does the trick. Toast can provide you with a little potassium and sodium, both of which aid in the task of digesting all that alcohol.

It’s also recommended that before you turn in, stir a couple of spoonfuls of honey into a glass of hot water and drink it.

When you wake up, take 2 to 6 teaspoons of honey and continue this dose every 20 minutes according to how severe the hangover is.

At breakfast, take another 4 teaspoons. This calms the effects that the alcohol has on the body and removes any cravings there are.

“The fructose in honey is an essential compound that helps the body break down alcohol into harmless by-products,” says Dr. Emsley.

And what better way to get rid of a hangover than by locally sourced, organic honey from the Carmel Honey Company, a company created by 14-year-old honor student Jake Reisdorf of Carmel?

Reisdorf, over the past four years, has ambitiously educated himself on the art and science of beekeeping, a hobby he has turned into a thriving family business as the teenaged CEO of Carmel Honey Company.

But his quest is more important than tending hives (he has 70) and peddling honey, which he currently sells in four varieties (orange blossom, sage, wildflower, and Meadowfoam) to more than 80 clients, including many of California’s best restaurants.

Jake is a passionate advocate of supporting and preserving bees and bee colonies, which are dying out at an alarming rate.

Crop pollination by honey bees is responsible for one-third of all of the food consumed by mankind, so if the bees go away, so will the earth’s foliage. If the plants die, scientists say, humans will follow within three years.

As if his efforts weren’t already noble enough, Reisdorf also has created a nonprofit charity, “Jake Gives Back,” from which he generously donates funds from Carmel Honey Company to organizations that promote honey bee research and education efforts.

His 2016 beneficiary was the National Honey Board, 2015 beneficiary was the El Nino Bee Lab at the University of California Davis, and the 2014 recipient was the Honey and Pollination Center at the Robert Mondavi Winery.

Carmel Honey Company has a wide variety of honey products, from honey sticks to small and large jars of honey.

So say bye-bye to that hangover with a sweet and simple cure — honey!

T5 Data Centers Adds Fortune 100 Company as Latest Tenant for T5@Atlanta Data Center Facility

T5’s Flagship Data Center Chosen for Reliability and Operational Excellence for Business-Critical Enterprise Systems in the Atlanta Market.

Atlanta, GA, USA — T5 Data Centers™ (http://www.t5datacenters.com), innovators in providing state-of-the-art, customizable and highly reliable computing support environments, today announced the addition of the newest tenant for its T5@Atlanta facility. The unnamed Fortune 100 company selected T5@Atlanta because it was one of the only data centers to meet their exacting requirements, and because of T5’s enterprise expertise, operational excellence, and speed to operation. A deciding factor was that T5@Atlanta was one of the only data centers in the Southeast to receive the Uptime Institute’s Management & Operations (M&O) Stamp of Approval, which evaluates data center staffing, organization, training practices, preventive maintenance, operating conditions, and planning and management.

The new tenant was seeking an enterprise data center facility in the Atlanta market that would be able to reliably support its business-critical applications. Last year, the company experienced a costly failure that affected customers and operations nationwide. To prevent recurrence of such a failure, the company decided to migrate to a data center provider that could support its mission-critical computing requirements. T5@Atlanta proved to be the only enterprise data center in the region with the capabilities, operational procedures, and personnel to meet their specifications.

The multi-megawatt deal includes a dedicated suite in the T5@Atlanta data center as well as dedicated infrastructure and a customized build-out. The new lease includes the option to extend the lease to include use of T5’s Smart Hands and Remote Hands services, if needed.

“This latest deal validates the leadership role that T5 plays in the Atlanta market,” said Pete Marin, President and CEO of T5 Data Centers. “In all of our facilities, we custom build infrastructure that meets the unique needs of discerning enterprise customers. Our T5@Atlanta data center already hosts mission-critical enterprise facilities for financial service companies, insurance companies, manufacturers, banks, and transportation companies. The one thing all our tenants have in common is the need for a world-class enterprise data center with qualified staff and reliable operations.”

Output Factory for Adobe InDesign Improves TIFF Image Export

Zevrix Solutions announces Output Factory 1.5.64, a maintenance update to its output automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Output Factory automates printing, exporting and preflighting from InDesign. The software offers batch processing, export as single pages, layer versioning and much more. The new version makes Output Factory a 64-bit application and addresses an issue in which blank TIFF images could be created under low memory conditions when exporting oversized InDesign documents.

Toronto (ON), Canada — Zevrix Solutions today announces the release of Output Factory 1.5.64, a maintenance update to its solution to automate printing, exporting, preflighting and file delivery from Adobe InDesign. Output Factory lets printers, ad agencies and publishing houses worldwide automate and simplify their output workflow and easily repurpose InDesign files for the web and mobile devices.

The new version makes Output Factory a fully 64-bit native application, thus improving its performance and reducing the likelihood of memory-related errors. In particular, the upgrade to 64-bit architecture eliminates an issue in which blank images were created when exporting oversized InDesign files to hi-res TIFF files. The update also addresses another TIFF related error where blank files were created when exporting to a non-startup volume.

“Output Factory is now a tool in our arsenal we couldn’t do without,” says Tony Rose, Vice President of Creative Services at Flynn Wright ad agency in Des Moines, Iowa. “Within the first day of use we realized its potential and have incorporated it into several of our workflows. Great product!”

With Output Factory users only need to select InDesign files, adjust workflow settings, and the software will do the rest automatically. Built-in preflighting ensures that no output errors will be left unnoticed. The program supports all popular output formats and offers the following key features:

Output multiple InDesign files
-Supports print, PDF, PostScript, EPS, TIFF, HTML and other formats
-Export as single pages
Layer versioning
-Output to several formats at once
-Variable output file names
-Insert InDesign text into output file name
Automatic preflight

Pricing and Availability:
Output Factory can be purchased from Zevrix website for US$169.95 (Light version $120, Server $700), as well as from authorized resellers and Adobe Exchange. Trial is also available for download. BatchOutput users can upgrade to Output Factory for $85. Output Factory requires Mac OS X 10.6-10.12 and Adobe InDesign CS3-CC 2017.
