Fulham Announces Groundbreaking HotSpot Plus All-in-One LED Driver and Emergency System

New System Delivers Maximum Features and Flexibility in Significantly Smaller Footprint.

Hawthorne, CA, USA (February 12, 2016) — Fulham Co., Inc., a leading supplier of lighting components and electronics for commercial and specialty applications, today announced the availability of its new HotSpot Plus™ All-in-One LED Driver and Emergency System. Combining a dimmable LED driver, emergency LED driver and replaceable backup battery, the HotSpot Plus delivers a complete LED emergency system in a small, efficient and cost-effective package that completely eliminates the need for a separate emergency system.

The new system has been developed to meet the needs of commercial builders who are increasingly being asked to meet new state and city safety requirements for more emergency lighting in new construction and retrofit projects. The industry’s first-of-its-kind system is faster to assemble, features new battery technology that delivers more cycles and longer life, and can be programmed for use in a broad array of fixtures. These features provide luminaire manufacturers with greater inventory flexibility and the ability to deliver products more rapidly.

“Fulham is committed to helping its customers remain successful as they compete in a rapidly evolving and growing marketplace,” said Russ Sharer, vice president of marketing and business development for Fulham. “To that end, our product development goals are to create new products and solutions that are intelligent, programmable and connected. Products such as the HotSpot Plus meet those goals and help our customers to stay ahead.”

The Fulham HotSpot Plus functions as a 40W constant current LED driver during normal working conditions, delivering from 250-1400mA of current. If a power outage occurs, the system automatically engages an integrated LiFePO4 6.4VDC backup battery to maintain the availability of current, delivering 5W of power for 180 minutes or 10W for 90 minutes.

The HotSpot Plus system can be programmed to deliver current in increments of 1mA with the Fulham SmartSet programming platform. Users can program the driver via the handheld TPSB-100 SmartSet Controller or the feature-rich SmartSet PC Software. The SmartSet system also includes a one-touch, auto-program feature for fast, efficient programming of multiple units.

To provide users with maximum flexibility, the HotSpot Plus is available in two formats, compact (6.29″ x 3.0″ x 1.10″) or linear (9.5″ x 2.4″ x 1.34″), and can be installed easily with only two screws. Advanced features include: an illuminated test switch, self-diagnostics and a user-selectable emergency power level.

TOP 11 Reasons to Change Your Silicone Cable to Northwire’s Second Generation BioCompatic USP Class VI Alternative

Northwire’s softer durometer BioCompatic II meets customer requests for a velvet-like, silicone alternative cable.

Osceola, WI, USA — Cable engineering company, Northwire, Inc., (NWI), in collaboration with precision cable connector leader LEMO is pleased to launch the second generation BioCompatic II for extreme engineering and cable assembly applications ranging from health care to industrial. A cost-effective upgrade to silicone – and a USP Class VI alternative – was engineered by Northwire specifically to create a softer durometer, eliminate the traditional curing processes, and add many other improvements including robust resistance to chemicals, cuts, and abrasion.

Following the popularity of the inaugural Underwater Connectivity white paper, Northwire and LEMO will continue their collective efforts to bring value to cable and wire, connector, and OEM customers focused on the enhancements of utilizing a silicone alternative. These advantages include USP Class VI interpretation, benefits of rapid R&D deployment, time-lapsed photography of autoclave tests in-process, and the compatibility of LEMO’s series of medical Push-Pull connector.

Future Electronics Promotes Susumu’s PRG Thin Film Chip Resistors

Pointe Claire, Quebec (realtimepressrelease) February 12, 2016 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, recently announced immediate availability of Susumu’s PRG thin film chip resistors series precision chip resistors with the highest power rating.

The PRG series from Susumu has a power rating almost 5 times as high as the RG series. The PRG series long side terminal products are offered in 3 sizes: 1206 size is rated at 1W, 2010 size is rated at 2W and 2512 size is rated at 3W. These power ratings are about 4 to 8 times higher than typical chip resistors with the same size.

Because the PRG series is an offspring of the RG series, the PRG series maintains all the thin film characteristics of the RG series, including precise absolute tolerance (±0.1% ), small temperature coefficient of resistance (25ppm/°C), low noise, and wide range of operating temperature (-55°C to +155°C). Likewise, reliability of the PRG series is just as good as the RG series. The maximum drift for most standard reliability tests such as short time overload, load life, temperature humidity bias, thermal shock, and high temperature exposure is specified as 0.05% to 0.1%.

For applications requiring extreme precision and reliability, such as precision industrial and medical instrumentation, test and measuring instrumentation, optical and telecommunication, automotive electronics, laboratory grade scales, power supplies, and power grid infrastructure, now Susumu offers a choice from three highly precise and highly reliable RG series family products: the original RG series for general purpose, the URG series where ultra reliability is required, and the PRG series for applications of extreme high power requirements. The RG, URG and PRG series are all RoHS compliant and 100% lead-free.
