Bangalore, India, December 24th, 2014 — Pustaka Digital Media, recently announced the launch of its website – www.pustaka.co.in, a website for the e-book lovers who wish to read vernacular language books. This is India’s first e-book selling and a lending portal for vernacular language books.

Nivetha Padmanaban, CEO of Pustaka Digital Media said in one of her statements “Most native language books are not available as e-books, which is preferred by the younger generation. Nivetha Padmanaban went one to say “Pustaka will provide a whole new experience to the Indian language book readers with rich mobile content. We often complain that the young generation does not read native language books. Unfortunately, most of the native language books are not available as eBooks and they slowly migrate to English. Our plan is to target the readers of all age groups across India and other parts of world who desires to read their own language books”, said, Padmanaban, Director of Pustaka Digital Media.

SmartTOP Add-On Convertible Top Controller by Mods4cars for Audi and Volkswagen Gets New Design

The SmartTOP retrofit Convertible Top add-on kit made by Mods4cars which is available for Audi A3 and Audi A4 Convertibles as well as Audi TT Roadster and VW Golf VI Convertible now comes in a new and improved design. Effective immediately these kits now contain modules with the new, custom designed Mods4cars product enclosure. The SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller allows using the top with the console switch while driving and from afar with the original key fob remote.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), December 24th, 2014 — Aftermarket automotive electronics specialist Mods4cars completely redesigned the look and feel of their SmartTOP Convertible Top add-on modules. They now come in a custom designed product enclosure manufactured exclusively for Mods4cars. Effective immediately, the modules for Audi A3 and A4 Convertibles as well as Audi TT Roadster and Volkswagen Golf VI Convertible ship with the new module enclosure. The smaller, slimmer shape of the module makes it easier to install it in tighter spaces in the car. Two built in LEDs show the status of the module and aid during installation.

The SmartTOP Convertible Top Controllers make using the top simpler and more comfortable. The retrofit kit made and offered by Mods4cars allows drivers to open and close the top while driving at slow speeds of up to 60 km/h (~38 mph). All that is needed is a quick, single touch of the switch to start full automatic operation. It is no longer necessary to hold it down for the entire time of the operation.

Additionally the top can be controlled from afar by using the original factory key fob remote. A key combination sets the top in motion. On hot days the top can be lowered while still approaching the car and at the first sign of rainfall the top can be closed quickly without the need to walk to the car.

Apart from these two main features all SmartTOP modules offer a host of bonus features, all of which are user configurable. The windows can be controlled separately from the top by remote. On the Audi A3 and A4 all windows can be closed automatically with the switch in the driver’s door. VW Golf VI drivers can reverse the direction of the top switch to make it more intuitive. An extended mode can be activated which allows the engine to be started or stopped while the top continues to open or close. The entire module can be deactivated temporarily if needed, while retaining all other user settings.

Mods4cars continually works on improving its products. “In order to make this possible, all of our modules come equipped with a USB port that allows end users to flash firmware updates at home.” explains PR-Manager Sven Tornow. “The updates are available free of charge for our customers on our web site. This is unparalleled service in a product segment like ours.” Sven Tornow continues.

The Convertible Top kits come with plug-in-between wiring harnesses for simple and easy installation. This custom designed wire adapter connects the module safely and securely to the vehicle electronics. SmartTOP kits are available for the following popular brands: Alfa, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Infiniti, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Volvo and VW.

The SmartTOP Convertible Top module for Audi A3 and A4 Convertibles as well as Audi TT Roadster and VW Golf Convertible is available for 249 Euros + tax.

About Mods4cars:
Mods4cars was founded in 2002 with the idea to add a highly demanded feature to the otherwise almost perfect Porsche Boxster: Comfort One-Touch roof operation while driving at slow speeds. The resulting product offered not only that, but also allowed quick and easy installation by just swapping out a relay box, thus leaving no traces and no permanent changes on the vehicle. The first SmartTOP roof controller was born.

The success of their first products in Germany and Europe prompted them in late 2004 to move operations to the USA, to be able to serve the American market as well as all other English speaking countries such as Australia, UK and South Africa from one central location. Their business has grown to a full-fledged international corporation with an office in Las Vegas and a full line of innovative products as well as distributors and installation partners all over the globe.

Being highly specialized in the development and distribution of aftermarket roof- and comfort controllers since 2002 allows them to offer an unsurpassed level of competence and product quality. Their main goal is optimization of each individual product to a maximum in compatibility, usability and intuitive operation. They put greatest effort into development and quality checks of all their products to achieve this goal and meet all expectations of their customers.

The extraordinary success of their products is also based on the great communication with their customers, which usually already starts for each new product during the development and prototyping phase.

Wine Caves:
The winery at Holman Ranch, located in The Caves, is completely underground in order to take advantage of the natural cooling and humidity held below. The 3000 square foot area maintains a constant temperature of 58°F-60 °F and contains four 750 gallon tanks, four 1200 gallon tanks, and four open top tanks that can hold two tons each. One hundred (100) French oak barrels are maintained year round. Winery operations such as destemming, pressing, fermenting and aging take place within the cool environment of The Caves, while bottling is done directly outside using a mobile bottling line. During harvest, 6 to 8 tons of grapes a day are processed. This may seem low but it is due to the fact that harvesting hours are between 7am to noon on any given day. Grapes are hand picked and loaded into half ton bins, transferred to the winery by tractor and then moved by forklift to the destemmer. White wines take around three weeks to ferment at 50°F and are bottled in February, while red varietals ferment for two weeks and are bottled in early June. All skins, seeds and stems are composted and returned to the fields. Slow months for our winery are June, July and August with the busiest time being September. The winery will produce 3000-5000 cases annually.

Vineyard & Winery Background:
Located at the north eastern tip of the Carmel Valley Appellation, the family-owned Holman Ranch resides approximately 12 miles inland from the Pacific Coast. Immersed in history and romance, the ranch has not only proven to be an excellent growing location for our vineyards but also for the Tuscan varietal olive trees which have flourished under the temperate climate.

• Our estate-grown wine varietals are planted on approximately 21 acres of undulating terrain.

• The wines produced are unfined and crafted to deliver the true varietal of the grape from harvest to bottle.

• The climate and terroir of the appellation has played a critical part in the success of our wines. The warmth of our inland valley coupled with the cooling marine layer has established itself as an ideal microclimate for the production of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Our Burgundy Clones have thrived from the perfect blend of ideal climate, southern exposure and thin rocky soils.

Holman Ranch Tasting Room:
Holman Ranch’s Carmel Valley tasting room offers the perfect backdrop to swirl, sip and savor the different complexities of Holman Ranch Vineyard and Winery wines. There is something for everyone (4 varietals in fact), from the full-bodied Pinot Noirs to the light, fruity flavors of our Pinot Gris and lightly oaked Chardonnay. Holman Ranch also offers estate grown and bottled Olive Oil available for tasting and purchase at the Tasting Room.

The Tasting Room showcases the estate wines of Holman Ranch which includes our Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Rosé of Pinot Noir. Carefully hand-harvested, cold pressed and bottled, the Extra Virgin Olive Oil produced from the fruits of our Tuscan trees has a delightful spice followed by a buttery finish.

Three tasting flights of three wines each (White, Mountain and Pinot Noir) are available 7 days a week. The Tasting Room also holds a series of cooking demos called In Your Backyard. For more information, call (831) 659-2640.

Olive Grove:
Holman Ranch has its own distinctive olive grove located on a south facing hill of our vineyard. The grove is comprised of 100 trees with multiple cultivars planted. These cultivars consist of 25 Frantoio, 25 Leccino, 10 Mission, 25 Coratina, 5 Pendolino, and 10 Picholine, all of which were originally planted in 2194 in a Carmel Valley orchard then replanted at Holman Ranch in 2007. These mature olive trees allowed us to produce olive oil right away. They are planted in shale for the best production and harvesting results possible. We harvest our fruit by hand in December, which is then milled, producing a superb, high quality product. Although the Olive Grove is not certified organic, we do employ organic practices when farming our trees. Our mill, however, is certified organic. An interesting fact is that olive trees are alternate bearing, which means that one year they may produce 650, 375ml bottles worth of oil, while next year they may produce only 50, 375ml bottles.

Holman Ranch Background:
Holman Ranch: Where the Past is Always Present. Tucked away in the rolling hills of Carmel Valley, Californian historic Holman Ranch provides a unique and memorable setting for weddings, special events, family gatherings, corporate retreats, and team-building events. With its charming gardens, stunning mountain views and serenity, this private estate affords old-world charm while providing modern day conveniences. This stunning Property includes a fully restored stone hacienda, overnight guest rooms, vineyards, olive grove, horse stables and more. www.holmanranch.com

Latest Cone Beam CT and Dental Laser Tool Makes Surgery More Comfortable and Less Invasive

Dr. Timothy Kosinski introduced intra-oral cancer screening with Velscope technology that is used to assist dentists in discovering cancerous or pre-cancerous growths in patients 18 and older that may not be apparent to the naked eye.

Bingham Farms, Michigan, USA (December 24, 2014) — As the SmileCreator of Bingham Farms, Dr. Timothy Kosinski is recognized as a leader in making available the latest in technology and implant procedures to patients in Southeast Michigan. Dr. Timothy Kosinski introduced intra-oral cancer screening with Velscope technology that is used to assist dentists in discovering cancerous or pre-cancerous growths in patients 18 and older that may not be apparent to the naked eye.

Before that, Dr. Kosinski introduced into his practice CAD/CAM technology which made digital impressions easier on his patients and allows for computer fabrication of crowns and bridges. Now CT diagnosis, using the latest CT scanning equipment visualize the mouth area in three dimensions and simulates the surgical placement of dental implants in the proper position prior to ever touching the patient.

A new CO2 dental laser added into Dr. Kosinski’s practice makes possible a minimally invasive approach to surgery without using a blade which controls bleeding and minimizes post-operative complications and reduced patient discomfort after surgery. The CO2 dental laser also decontaminates the site, reducing the risk of infection.

“The CO2 is the most used laser in medicine and now is available for my use in dental surgery,” says Dr. Kosinski, “and we have much faster healing compared to traditional surgery methods.” (Watch Demonstration here: https://www.njvid.net/showvideo.php?pid=njcore:52380)

“Our new VaTech Cone Beam CT is a green machine — limiting hazardous materials from being integrated into the device, thus creating a low environmental impact,” says Kosinski. “The CT has ultra-low dose X-ray technology and has a rapid 5.9 second scan. It is nice to have this amazing technology right here in my office, for all our patients’ needs.”

Dr. Kosinski is still looking for individuals who are willing to be evaluated to see if they are eligible for dental implants at greatly reduced prices. Dr. Kosinski is looking for 40 patients to be involved in his teaching program for doctors learning his techniques in implant dentistry.

Candidates must be missing upper or lower back teeth and have no uncontrolled medical problems. A no-fee evaluation will be completed to determine if they are candidates for this teaching program.

Once selected, the individuals will receive a dental implant and abutment for $699 – an incredible $1,500 savings. After healing, a crown over the implant will be created by Dr. Kosinski, also for a reduced fee. All patients accepted in this program will receive a CT scan, or three dimensional X-ray to idealize their situation, at no fee (a $450 savings).

Those interested in the reduced implant procedure should contact Dr. Kosinski’s office, SmileCreator of Bingham Farms at 248-646-8651 to schedule a free, no cost or obligation appointment.

Dr. Kosinski is a Dental Practitioner who has established himself in the dental implant field and has trained hundreds of professional dentists and dental students in the best techniques for successful implants. Dr. Kosinski has placed well over 10,000 dental implants in his dental career and did nearly 1,000 implants last year alone.

The implants at greatly reduced prices are offered because Dr. Kosinski participates in a dental training program he offers in cooperation with the Engel Institute led by Dr. Todd Engel. Professional dentists will come to Dr. Kosinski’s office to be trained and under his mentoring will perform implant surgery on select patients.

As important for his general dentistry patients, Dr. Kosinski’s team has also made available electric toothbrushes like the Pro Health System from Crest and Oral B because electric brushes are far more effective in eliminating gingivitis than normal brushing – removing 100 percent more plaque than manual brushing.

The SmileCreator of Bingham Farms office is located at: 31000 Telegraph Rd., Suite 170, Bingham Farms, MI 48025. For more information visit: http://www.SmileCreator.Net.

SAFE International Launches Ottawa Women’s Self Defense Parties – Ottawa, ON Self Defense

SAFE International™ is the leading provider of mobile self-defense/personal protection training in Ottawa, Canada.

Ottawa, ON, December 23, 2014 (via Straight Line PR) — SAFE International ™ is the leading provider of mobile self-defense/personal protection training in Ottawa, Canada. SAFE International has taught more than 190,000 clients in the private, corporate and high school environments since 1994. SAFE International self defense Ottawa is expanding its seminar options to include women’s self defense parties in Ottawa, ON.

SAFE International quickly realized that women had completely different concerns, fears, and needs than males. Chris Roberts, Managing Director of SAFE International listened to their concerns and tailored something that was not only educational, but also met their personal fears. Men have no idea what women go through on an everyday basis from the stares and comments to the physical gestures and advances.

One of the reasons that SAFE International enjoys teaching women’s self defense Ottawa, is how receptive women are to the skills that the SAFE International instructors provide. SAFE International teaches self defense concepts, rather than techniques. This allows women to learn in a much shorter time.

SAFE International always covers Awareness and Avoidance strategies which are based on one’s daily routines. We examine what an attacker looks for, what an attacker wants and doesn’t want in confrontation. One of the biggest topics we explore is how most people are too polite, even when their intuition is telling them the complete opposite. We cover the most common distraction techniques an attacker will use to gain an advantage. We then move on to verbal strategies in the event that avoidance is no longer possible. Rather than just teaching to yell at a potential attacker, we cover a few verbal strategies based on the aggressor and the scenario. The third step is addressing the physical aspect of Ottawa women’s self defense. We begin with the advantages of adopting a passive stance rather than an aggressive stance. We only teach gross motor strikes due to the adrenal rush one gets when they are in a highly stressful state such as an attack scenario. We teach a philosophy of “Attack the Attacker” which reverses one from being the Prey, to that of being the Predator.

Another philosophy is to attack the head if all avoidance and verbal strategies have failed. This is only 30 minutes into the physical training and you can see how the self-defense concepts are very effective. The self defense drills increase with intensity as the participants gain more confidence. This is very important, as you don’t want to terrify your clients right from the start. It is important to build rapport with your students and the results will be seen as the drills progress. The following YouTube video shows how much can be learned in only 30 minutes of women’s self defense instruction.

Forget Tupperware Parties!
Invite 6 to 8 of your friends for a few hours of fun, education and potentially life- saving instruction. Plan a meal, bbq, snacks, maybe some dessert! Be prepared for a unique Ottawa Women’s Self Defense experience! What has made SAFE International so popular is their unique method of teaching with humour and sharing of anecdotes. Get to experience their simulated attacks in scenario specific situations such as at the front door, the kitchen, the car, etc.

About SAFE International:

“The Glow of Paris is a Spectacular Collection of Photos” Ross Rojek, San Francisco Book Review

Accompanied by a fascinating historical portrayal, the book presents a unique and aesthetic vision of Paris because no one else has ever photographed and written about the bridges that cross the Seine in this way.

New York, NY, USA (December 22, 2014) — Most Parisians will be shocked by the unnoticed and unheralded beauty of the bridges across the Seine River that they cross over in the city every day.

That’s because very few Paris residents have witnessed the stunning beauty of the bridges at night as displayed in a one-of-a-kind book of black and white photos of the 35 bridges crossing the Seine in city limits as captured by Gary Zuercher.

Zuercher spent five years photographing the 35 bridges at night during the winter months and another year researching the history of the bridges, gathering anecdotes, printing and assembling the prints to put to press the recently published The Glow of Paris: The Bridges of Paris at Night (ISBN 978-0-9906309-0-6, Marcorp Editions, 2014, 208 pages, $49.95, available on Amazon and at: http://www.marcorp-editions.com.

The Glow of Paris is an eclectic collection of extraordinary gelatin-silver photographic prints of the bridges of Paris – nighttime images that are breathtaking. Accompanied by a fascinating historical portrayal, the book presents a unique and aesthetic vision of Paris because no one else has ever photographed and written about the bridges that cross the Seine in this way.

“For the most part Parisians take these architectural wonders for granted, relying on their functionality to get them where they want to go each day,” says author Zuercher. “They don’t appreciate the beauty because most don’t see the glow of the bridges at night. And most have forgotten that from Julius Caesar to Princess Diana, the bridges of Paris have played in important role in history.”

The fascinating narrative that accompanies the artistic black and white photos includes historical facts and little known tidbits about the bridge, such as:

• The history of these bridges precede the birth of Christ. In 52 BC Julius Caesar conquered Paris; the earliest recorded mention of the bridges is found in Caesar’s Gallic War commentaries. Most of the later history evolves from around the time of the Middle Ages and thereafter.

• On the morning of October 3, 1943, an aircraft hit the Pont de Tolbiac Bridge and crashed into the Seine, killing the four Frenchmen on board. The four were members of the Free French Air Force who had flown from an airfield in England to participate in the allied bombing of a power station outside of Paris.

• Bridges constructed prior to the late eighteenth century normally had houses and shops built directly on them. Floods, ice floes, fires, boat collisions, and structural failures frequently destroyed the bridges. The collapsing bridges took the houses and shops down with them, and often their occupants as well. In 1769 Louis XV finally outlawed the construction of houses on the bridges, but it took until 1808 for the last building to be removed.

• The Pont des Arts seems to have the densest proliferation of locks, perhaps because of the French adage that roughly translates as “a lock on the Pont des Arts is your commitment for life and a lock on the Pont de l’Archevêché is your commitment to your lover.” It is estimated that more than 250,000 are attached to the Pont des Arts. According to the newspaper Le Figaro, the weight of the locks is 300 kilos per lineal meter. That equals 205,207 pounds, a considerable weight for the bridge to bear. From time to time the guardrail fence starts to fail under the weight and has to be replaced, at which point the locks are simply thrown away.

• The name of the Pont au Change Bridge comes from the time of Louis VII (1137-1180), who in 1141 ordered the moneychangers to locate on the bridge. This allowed visitors entering the city to change money there. In 1304 Philippe le Bel (1268-1314) authorized gold and silver dealers to join the moneychangers on the bridge.

• Early on, the Pont Neuf was the center of a permanent fair, a meeting point for all the sophisticated as well as the vulgar pleasures of the capital. At any moment you would find street performers-acrobats, fire-eaters, and musicians- charlatans and quacks, as well as hustlers and pickpockets, not to mention a lively trade in prostitution. Among the many businesses were several famous “tooth pullers.”

“This information will be of great interest to not only tourists and historians but also to Parisians who have limited knowledge of the 35 bridges in their city and are surprised at the number of islands in the Seine, (three not two)” says Zuercher. “There is a great deal of truth in the words of author Monique Marty who wrote of the bridges – ‘They are the extension of the streets, the hyphens between the two river banks. We cross them on foot, by car, by Metro. We see them without looking at them and that’s a shame’.”

Zuercher, an artist in the darkroom as well as behind the lens, lives half a year in Paris and the other half in Washington, D.C. He develops the film into negatives in Paris and then makes the prints in the D.C. darkroom. Often he would make 20 to 30 prints before coming up with just the right photo for his book. The results of his work prove what was written by Ansel Adams, “The negative is like the score of the music and the print is like the performance”.

The stories related to the project are rich enough to fill another book, such as the time he was refused access to a church roof to photograph an aerial shot because he could not be there while the nuns were sleeping. Or when he had to use mountain climbing equipment and the aid of city firefighters to climb to the top of city hall to shoot seven bridges from the air. Or when young thugs threatened him while Zuercher was working at night but were defused when he offered to take their pictures and email it to them.

Limited Edition: Along with a signed copy of the book, a gelatin silver photographic print of the “Seven Bridges” featured on the book’s cover, hand made to museum archival standards, will be available in limited quantity, signed by Gary Zuercher, mounted on 16″ x 20″ acid free mat board and ready for framing.
