SAFE International Aims to Help Women Learn How to Defend Themselves by Launching Self Defense Fort McMurray, Alberta

The owners of SAFE International have announced they are well on its way towards realizing their mission by launching Self Defense Fort McMurray.

Fort McMurray, Alberta, October 09, 2014 – (Straight Line PR) – The owners of SAFE International have announced they are well on its way towards realizing their mission by launching Self Defense Fort McMurray. They are aiming to accomplish this feat through the offering of their self-defense training seminars, which will include women’s self-defense parties, high school self defense, and corporate lunch and learns.

SAFE International, which has been in the forefront since 1994 empowering people to save their own lives through the use of self-defense concepts, believes its current focus on empowering women to protecting themselves is needed now more than ever.

“Unfortunately, we live in an increasingly violent society, and we, here at SAFE International, want to not only want to share our knowledge and experience with others, but while in the process of sharing we are also empowering people throughout Canada, the United States, and globally to defend themselves,” added Roberts. Adding SAFE International self defense in Fort McMurray is another step in that journey.

Even though their mission at SAFE International is to teach real self-defense skills to as many women, children, and men, from 12 years of age to 82 years of age, they are focusing their attention primarily on civilians who really need these skills.

While continuing to meet the growing needs of people, corporations, organizations and schools year after year, SAFE International™ has continuously provided both effective, and highly memorable, personal protection instruction through their unique ability to reach more people in a way that enables them to retain and utilize the skills if necessary.

According to Roberts, complicated techniques that require regular practice in order to become second nature weren’t simply going to help in a potentially life-threatening situation, and therefore, they aren’t offering a martial arts program. Rather, they are offering what they considered to be “a practical and realistic approach to personal safety.”

“What sets our approach to self-defense training apart from all other programs is how we present our courses with real-life simulated scenarios, with hands-on techniques and with humour, yes… humour,” said Roberts, who believes that while the subject matter is a very serious one, SAFE International™ knows that learning in a safe, fun, and enthusiastic environment is the best way to retain what is being presented.

“While others in the self-defense industry focus solely on the physical side of personal protection, we here at SAFE International™ focuses on all aspects. Our training, for example, covers the most important awareness and avoidance phases, to intelligent verbal strategies, and to the physical aspects you may require to enable yourself get home safely to your family,” explained Roberts, who has had the great fortune of collaborating with professionals and specialists from all fields within the realm of self defense.

“There is violence everywhere, and everyone is responsible for their personal security, and it s on that basis that SAFE teaches self-defense that addresses real-life violence, thus providing a no-nonsense approach to personal safety. Our goal is to teach our students to Recognize, React, and Respond effectively to any confrontation in the quickest possible time,” concluded Roberts.

Premium Hybrid and Freesheet Offering Delivers Value and Quality

Madawaska, ME, October 08, 2014 — /REAL TIME PRESS RELEASE/ — Understanding the challenges facing religious publishers and printers, Twin Rivers Paper Company tailored a portfolio of lightweight Premium Hybrid and Freesheet papers to deliver value and quality for spiritual scripture, inspirational non-fiction and study guides.

“Whether it is paper cost, supply chain logistics, quality or ease of doing business, publishers and printers are being asked to do more for less in delivering evangelical materials around the world,” said Robert Hutchins, Product Manager. “As an experienced supplier, we know this market. For the last 20 years our Freesheet grades set industry standards while our Premium Hybrid papers are driving market innovation.”

With an 80+ year legacy of papermaking, Twin Rivers is one of the primary North American manufacturers of lightweight opaque Freesheet papers, a category widely used for scriptural applications because of strength and printability. Understanding the market need for options, Twin Rivers pioneered the Premium Hybrid category, formulated with the optimal blend of Groundwood and Freesheet fiber to deliver opacity, strength and value.

“Our Premium Hybrid papers have transformed other publishing markets like financial printing and reference. We know once religious publishers and printers become more familiar with our blended products they will appreciate the unique benefits of the offering. Premium Hybrid can translate into a significant advantage for a publisher,” added Hutchins. “Our papers provide options that support brand image while stretching budgets to expand reach.”

Core papers for religious text applications include Custom Brite® and Bridge Supreme®. Custom Brite is a Freesheet paper available in 22-40 lb. basis weights while Bridge Supreme is a Premium Hybrid paper available in 18-38 lb. basis weights, with added hybrid capability extending up to 40 lb. Greg Shirley Set To Release “Hillbilly Girl” on October 14

Country Singer Greg Shirley Set to Release Debut Single and Accompanying Video for “Hillbilly Girl,” on October 14 from Garage Door Records.

Chattanooga, TN, USA (October 7, 2014) — Chattanooga-based label Garage Door Records announces an October 14 release and radio add date for “Hillbilly Girl,” the debut single from country music singer Greg Shirley, along with its accompanying video. The new single, written by Jason Blaine McEwen and Willie Mack, precedes the release of his first album, Raised on the Run, which will street in late winter, 2015, and was produced by T.W. Cargile and Greg Shirley.

The “Hillbilly Girl” video was directed by Lance Goodman for The Beauty of Music Productions and perfectly captures the upbeat, fun-loving spirit of the new single.

Supporting Alabama-based Greg Shirley on his debut is a virtual “who’s-who” of Nashville players. Jim Moose Brown, a veteran multi-instrumentalist who has lent his talents to recordings from Waylon Jennings, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, and Bob Seger, plays keys. Drummer Eddie Bayers has earned the prestigious Academy of Country Music Drummer of the Year award for eight years straight. Bassist Kevin “Swine” Grantt’s resume includes work for Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Colt Ford, and Willie Nelson.

Co-producer and engineer T.W. Cargile recorded Greg’s vocals at Jamey Johnson’s Big Assed Studio in Nashville. The co-producer of Johnson’s Grammy-nominated “In Color,” Cargile’s track record with Alabama-based songwriters is undisputed.

In addition to Greg’s own compositions, the forthcoming album includes contributions from some of Nashville’s most celebrated songwriters, notably Bernie Nelson and Chris Wallin. Kenny Chesney, Chris LeDoux, and Randy Travis have all taken Nelson’s songs to the top of the charts, and the smash, “Daddy Never Was the Cadillac Kind,” earned him Million Airplay status in 2002. Wallin has enjoyed his share of chart success as well: his recent “Something to Be Proud Of” kept Montgomery Gentry at number one for weeks. His songs have appeared on albums by everyone from Trace Adkins to Confederate Railroad and Diamond Rio.

Cape Coral Man Wants Children to Read More – Publishes First Book

“Adventures of Nutty and Twittles, Oh Nuts! I Lost My Little Sister!”.

Cape Coral, FL (USA), October 03, 2014 — Inspired and encouraged by his two granddaughters, Dennis Marcoux, decided to write his first children’s book, “Adventures of Nutty and Twittles, Oh Nuts! I Lost My Little Sister!” Published by Halo Publishing International, the book characterizes forest animals and includes a teaching element for children centered on listening to adults and learning safety.

“I want kids to be encouraged to get something out of the book more than just a story. I want them to learn a moral,” says the retired 68-year-old Cape Coral man.

He also wants them, including his nine grandchildren, to read more because he believes it is not encouraged as much as it should be in our culture. Marcoux says reading is important because it ultimately leads to greater creativity. He compares his philosophy on reading like playing dominos.

“Reading leads to imagination, that leads to ideas, and ideas lead to creativity. You can’t get to the last domino until you start the first one,” he says.

For Marcoux, he has always been interested in the creativity of the arts. He’s dabbled in commercials and small stage acting. He says his writing days started in elementary school, but had no purpose. That changed in 2000 with the birth of his mentally challenged granddaughter, Ellie Rose. He wrote a short poem about the love he witnessed between his wife and daughter for this newborn baby. Family members loved the poem, and from that point on he says his writing had a purpose.

It wouldn’t be until 2009, when his five-year-old granddaughter, Molly, inspired him to write short stories. Marcoux said they would take walks through the woods, and it was the animals that fascinated her—namely the squirrels. It was through his relationship with Molly and her imagination that led him to write his first children’s book.

Marcoux is currently working on a series of books with Nutty and Twittles that he hopes will continue to teach morals to children, as well as open up their imagination and develop their creativity.

You can purchase “Adventures of Nutty and Twittles, Oh Nuts! I Lost My Little Sister!” through Halo Publishing International. It sells for $12.95.

Biography:
Originally from Worcester, Mass., Dennis Marcoux worked in the manufacturing business for most of his life. Now he is retired and resides in Cape Coral, Florida. In his spare time, you can find him reading books as a volunteer in elementary schools and children’s hospitals. He is a member of the Gulf Coast Writers Association of Fort Myers, Florida.
