Effective immediately the SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller offered by Mods4cars is available for the BMW 2 Series Convertible. It allows one-touch top operation while driving at slow speeds as well as opening or closing of the top from the original key fob remote. A full plug-in-between wiring adapter is part of the kit.
Las Vegas, NV (USA), November 27th, 2015 — Automotive aftermarket electronics specialist Mods4cars now offers a SmartTOP Add-On Convertible Top Controller module for the new BMW 2 Series (F23). The kit makes using the top more convenient by adding intelligent features. It is possible to open or close the top while driving with one-touch operation. A quick touch is enough to start an automatic top open or close cycle. It is not necessary any longer to hold down the switch for the entire duration. SmartTOP customers get to return both hands to the steering wheel immediately.
Additionally the SmartTOP module makes it possible to operate the top from a distance by using the original key fob remote. “This feature enables owners to open the top while still approaching the car.” explains PR-Manager Sven Tornow. “Our customers are able to get in their cars on hot days with the top already being down.” he continues. Likewise, at the first sign of impending rainfall the top can be closed by remote, without the need to run to the car. No changes are necessary to the existing keys.
This new Mods4cars product, like others before, offers a host of bonus features as well: All windows can be closed simultaneously with one-touch convenience by using the “all windows” switch in the driver’s door. The windows can be remote controlled separately from the top. The direction of the console top switch can be reversed. An extended mode can be activated which allows starting or stopping of the engine while an ongoing top operation continues. The entire module can be disabled temporarily while retaining all other user settings for when it is re-enabled later.
All SmartTOP products come equipped with a USB port for easy updates and configuration via Mac or PC. Support software as well as firmware updates are available free of charge online. The kit comes complete with a custom designed plug-in-between wiring adapter which makes connecting the SmartTOP module to the car electronics a matter of simply plugging in two connectors.
The convenience add-on kit for the new BMW 2 Series Convertible is available for 299 Euros + tax. Additional SmartTOP modules are being offered for 1, 2, 4 and 6 Series as well as Z4 and Mini.
