The partnership was inspired by Huerta’s story: he became the embodiment of the American Dream when he qualified for the 2012 US Olympic Team in triathlonon Mother’s Day Weekend.While leading a life as a top American triathlete, he has continued to support his mother and her battle with cancer.
After witnessing Huerta’s qualification at the ITU World Series in the company’s hometown of San Diego, Ludus Tours reached out to make sure his family would be there to support him. Now, Huerta’s mother and sister will be able to be there as Huerta’s dream comes true: Ludus Tours has donated their services to take care of all travel arrangements and accommodations for the Huerta Family.

Huerta needed to perform the race of a lifetime at the final qualifying event in San Diego, Calif., on May 12, 2012 – and he did just that.On Mother’s Day, he crossed the finish line 9thand qualified for the last U.S. spot in triathlon, officially earning his ticket to London.

Huerta has was born in Cuba and immigrated to the United States with his family when he was 13. He became a U.S. citizen in 2000 and lives in Miami, Fla..Some of the recent highlights of his career include becoming a member of the 2012 USA Triathlon Team, 2011 USAT Olympic/ITU Athlete of the Year and 2011 Pan Am Games Silver Medalist.
