Executive Career Solutions (UK) Launched

Announcing the UK launch of Executive Career Solutions designed to help CEO, Executive and Director-level individuals plan and execute next career moves.

Newbury, United Kingdom — Announcing the UK launch of Executive Career Solutions designed to help CEO, Executive and Director-level individuals plan and execute next career moves. As an executive career management consultancy, offers bespoke solutions covering different scenarios. For convenience, the approach is simple and streamlined. Everything revolves around an extended discussion (usually over the telephone) to understand career motivations, aspirations and current situation. The provides a useful basis for collaborating with executives to break everything down and develop a clear ‘value proposition’. This helps executive customers to stand out from the competition and make an impression with employers, headhunting firms and other people within their networks, so collaboration, building a level of trust and mutual understanding is important for best results.

Significantly, each scenario is placed within the context of an executive resume to provide an important baseline for adding other career management solutions (value-added services). This creates more of an end-to-end solution using a more integrated approach and joined-up thinking towards executive careers. Solutions are tailored to individual requirements with an incremental approach allowing customers to select add-ons as an when required, subject to ordering an initial CV (resume) service. Therefore, it is important for CEO, Executive and Director-level customers to initially choose a CV (resume) option as an important first step towards achieving career success at the very highest level. Add-ons can only be selected (or agreed in advance) once the executive CV (resume) has been ordered (or completed) to deliver optimal benefits (outcomes).

The executive resume remains arguably the single most important element when screening candidates, followed by LinkedIn. It is the need for recruiters, headhunting firms and key contacts to gain initial snippets of information so they can make an informed decision about whether to invite candidates to interview. Therefore, the role of the executive resume must not be under-estimated during initial pre-selection processes. This is why the executive resume helps to provide a crucial baseline to understand the ‘customer scenario’ and a platform to recommend extra solutions as part of an integrated career or job hunting strategy. Nothing should be left in isolation, so Executive Career Solutions offers helps covering many different scenarios. Popular resume services include the CEO CV, Managing Director CV and the Finance Director CV.

Distinctive Career Services Adds Federal Resume Writing to Job Search Support Services

Government Career Experts Help Job Seekers Package Their Expertise for Placement in the Federal Job Market.

Wakefield, New Hampshire, USA (March 25, 2015) — Distinctive Career Services, LLC, career and resume consultants for professionals and executives for nearly 20 years, has added a new resume writing service specifically designed for professionals seeking a career with the federal government. The new federal resume writing services are designed to assist job seekers in highlighting and promoting the unique skills and qualifications required to be considered for work in the federal sector.

There are millions of civilian jobs and the federal government is seeking new talent all the time, but few professionals understand what it takes to navigate the federal job application process, including what hiring managers look for in a resume.

On average, there are 250 resumes submitted for every job opening. That means an applicant has 15 seconds or less to stand out. In addition, government agencies require detailed resumes that include elements not typical in resumes written for the private sector. The resulting three- to five-page federal resume must also be structured in a prescribed format. If a federal job candidate does not follow the application instructions and can’t immediately demonstrate he or she has the right expertise and the right credentials then their resume will never be considered. That’s why Distinctive Career Services has created as specialized practice for government job seekers staffed by experts experienced in federal resume writing.

“Every job market has unique requirements and that’s especially true for federal workers,” said Michelle Dumas, founder and Executive Director of Distinctive Career Services. “It’s essential to highlight specific skills and qualifications, such as veteran status, language skills, and security clearance. Federal job screeners are looking for very specific qualifications, and our team of resume experts know what those criteria are based on years of experience. If you are looking for a job with the government we can help you demonstrate that you have the right qualifications to rise above the crowd.”

In addition to federal resume writing, Dumas and the team of career professionals at Distinctive Career Services offer a wide range of career support services, including cover letter writing, LinkedIn profile writing, job search assistance, and personal branding strategies. Dumas herself holds both Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW) and Nationally Certified Resume Writer (NCRW) credentials, and is a trained career coach and a Certified Personal Branding Strategist (CPBS) with credentials as a Certified Employment Interview Professional (CEIP) and a Job & Career Transition Coach (JCTC).

Bryant & Stratton College Online Hosts Webinar: What Type of Resume is Best?

January 10 webinar will teach job seekers about the different types of resume formats, how to know when to use them and practical resume tips

Buffalo, NY, December 20, 2013 – The average recruiter spends about six seconds looking at a single resume, according to a study by The Ladders. That means job seekers have six seconds to highlight their skills and expertise, making the format of a resume as important as the content. For that reason, Bryant & Stratton College Online announced today a new session in its career information webinar series titled “What Type of Resume is Best for You?” The webinar will be held on Friday, January 10 from noon to 1 p.m. EST.

During the “What Type of Resume is Best for You?” webinar, attendees will learn practical tips and advice to improve their resume. Some of the topics covered in the webinar will include:

* The difference between chronological, functional, skills based and combination resumes

* When to use each type of resume

* How to take a resume from responsibility-focused to success-focused

* Dos and Don’ts of resume writing

The webinar will be led by Cindy Carpenter and Albanitza Mayoliz who handle recruiting at Verizon for the Call Center and Retail Sales Channel, respectively. Ms. Carpenter and Ms. Mayoliz are responsible for reviewing applications and qualifications, identifying quality candidates, coordinating interviews, extending offers and on boarding new hires. Both women are experienced recruiters with extensive knowledge in recruiting practices, talent acquisition, on boarding, hiring, career fairs, resume writing and career advancement and social media.

“There is an art to putting together a resume that most job seekers underestimate. A typical recruiter may have to sort through hundreds, or even thousands, of resumes to fill a position. A strong resume needs to communicate quickly and concisely why a job seeker deserves to be considered for a position. To do that sometimes requires deviating from the standard chronological format,” said Ms. Carpenter.

The “What Type of Resume is Best for You?” career information webinar is offered for free by Bryant & Stratton College Online and is open to current students, prospective students and others seeking information about how to write a resume. Those interested in attending are invited to register at http://online.bryantstratton.edu/webinar/.

“Career preparation is an integral part of what we provide students at Bryant & Stratton College Online. The career information webinar series has been a successful way to educate students not only on how to do a job, but also on how to get a job. We are grateful that Ms. Carpenter and Ms. Mayoliz have offered to share their expertise with job seekers,” said Scott Traylor, Campus Director for Online Education at Bryant & Stratton College.
