Bang-Bang in Watchland

Lausanne, Vaud, Switzerland, 2016-May-27 — /REAL TIME PRESS RELEASE/ — On March 22nd, the Goldgena Project was launched with the goal of creating affordable mechanical watches with complete transparency regarding their origin and costs. The aim is also to shake up the ‘Swiss Made’ label and the traditional approach to distribution and marketing. The community is invited to share their opinion and even get involved in each stage of the project. At the time of writing, more than 3,500 people have signed up, and our site is recording more than 28,000 visits and 45,000 views every month.

______________________

BRIEF SUMMARY OF PHASE 1

MARCH, 30TH – CHAPTER 1: TTO Label – Total Transparency on Origin DISCOVER
The Swiss Made label can be obscure and ultimately mislead consumers, as most of the components are manufactured abroad. The Goldgena Team has decided to make their watches with complete transparency, and have thus created the TTO label; Total Transparency on Origin.

APRIL, 13TH – CHAPTER 2: Transparency on Prices and Fixed Multiplier DISCOVER
Goldgena will be communicating and explaining the production cost of their watches. In addition, by selling directly to the end consumer they will be able to apply an unmatched modifier of 3.5 to the production price.

APRIL 27TH – CHAPTER 3: Online Sale, Pop-Up Stores and Sponsorship DISCOVER
The Goldgena Project is planning to foster community power by offering a commission of 10% to anyone who generates a sale. In addition, an application will allow potential customers to meet watch owners, so that they can see the product before buying.

PHASE 2 – FRIST DESIGN UNVEILED

MAY 11TH – CHAPTER 1: Non-Swiss Made, Swiss Made or Swiss Manufacturing? DISCOVER
We wanted our first model to feel mechanical from every angle, so we made the dial an extension of the movement. We wanted the case to be simple, elegant and ergonomic, while still overflowing with character. Fine horns and crosspiece give it a particular, recognizable aesthetic.

In-house or standard movement? Non-swiss made, swiss made or swiss manufacturing? The community shares his opinion.

JUNE-AUGUST: Development and Crowdfunding
During the summer, the Goldgena Project will share every detail of the development. In September a crowdfunding campaign will be launched. The detailed program will be available end on May at www.goldgena.com

The Goldgena Project Dream Team

The Goldgena Project is run by a small watch design workshop called cosanova, and is currently made up of 3 people. Founded in 2005 by the designer Claudio D’Amore, the workshop is based in the heart of Swiss watchmaking, in Lausanne, not far from Geneva. In little more than 11 years, the cosanova workshop has had the honor of working with around forty watch brands, such as Tag Heuer, Parmigiani, Montblanc, Oris, Eberhard and even Hautlence.

The Founder, Claudio D’Amore
Born in Switzerland to Italian parents, in 2000 Claudio D’Amore (40) graduated from the ECAL (Lausanne Design School) with an HES degree in design. He then set off for London to work with Ross Lovegrove, the famous London-based designer, where he worked on the design of several watches for Tag Heuer (V4, Carrera Caliber 360, Golf Watch). Upon his return to Switzerland in 2005, he founded cosanova.

It’s Another Contemporary Jazz Home Run for Project Grand Slam with The Joyfully Melodic and Grooving ‘Spring Dance’

When is the last time a jazz ensemble named after the nefarious scheme of a James Bond villain packed such a solidly melodic and grooving punch?

Hollywood, CA, June 27, 2012 – Project Grand Slam, named by leader Robert Miller as a play on “Goldfinger”’s plan to steal all the gold from Fort Knox, is probably the first—and he and PGS are up to plenty of melodic and grooving wonder this summer on Spring Dance, their explosive new album on Cakewalk Records.

The collection’s lead track is its title tune, an upbeat, feel-good, winner penned by Miller. Miller’s other songs include the Joe Zawinal tribute “Joe Z,” a high energy blast that brings to mind the fiery fusion magic of Weather Report, complete with exotic chanting and old school keyboards; the sensual and elegant soprano sax led ballad “Ma Petite Fleur,” a piece Miller dedicates to his wife and that he calls his favorite on the collection; the brass-fired, classic blues-funk explosion “Catch You Later”; and “Flat Busted,” an in-the-pocket, mid tempo grooving urban jazz tune featuring Gilad Ronen’s hypnotic flute runs.

Ronen and Joye Hennessey’s “Remember” is featured first as a dramatic and soulful, longing romantic vocal (highlighted by strings and an emotional sax solo) and, as a coda to Spring Dance, a thoughtful and reflective instrumental that evolves into a percussive, easy rolling, rhythmically engaging samba. Ronen also composed the ambient, slightly melancholy ballad “The Turn,” which featured a smoky sax melody and soaring horn textures.

The band also covered the old Hollie’s hit, “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother”. Says Miller: “Joye did an incredible job with the song, almost like Mariah Carey singing jazz!”.

The eclectic nine-track collection is the follow-up release to PGS’ critically acclaimed 2008 debut, Play, which included the Top 20 jazz radio hit “The Captain Of Her Heart” (sung by Judie Tzuke). Five of the tracks from Play, along with the band itself (with Miller having a speaking part), were prominently featured in an episode of the hit NBC-TV series “Lipstick Jungle,” starring Brooke Shields. PGS did several live performances at clubs in NYC in addition to a charity show for the Ronald McDonald House.

For the new album Miller invited Mike Eckroth, keyboardist for guitar legend John Scofield, and alto sax man Danny Lerman to complement the core trio. After a few days of rehearsal, the new lineup of PGS convened in the studio and nailed the basic tracks in a week, with most songs done in two or three takes. After some overdubs, Justin Smith was brought in to sweeten some of the tracks with strings. And Joye Hennessey added her soaring vocals.

Miller is a renowned solo artist. His debut project, Child’s Play (Wildcat Records 1994) included performances by Randy Brecker, Jon Lucien and Anton Fig; his follow up, Prisoners of Love (1996) was released on 32 Records, a label Miller co-founded that became famous in the late ‘90s for a series of “Jazz For…” compilation recordings (Jazz For a Rainy Afternoon, Jazz For The Quiet Time, etc.) that dominated the Billboard Jazz charts and sold well over one million units. His band, The Robert Miller Group, played at many major New York area clubs, graduating to the national festival circuit where they appeared with artists like Bruce Hornsby, Bela Fleck and Kenny Barron.

“The essence of where we are as a group, and where I am personally in my life, is captured in the title track of the album with its upbeat vibe,” says Miller. “It’s a feel good kind of piece with an uplifting melody, funky beat and elements of my jazz fusion background. We’re all about strong melodies and great playing. What excites me most is exciting the listener.”

BusinessVibes determines Key Stages in Managing a Project or Event

London, UK, February 05, 2012 — No matter what kind of event you organize, whether it is industry event or charity one, there are some usual things you need to remember to make it successful. Find below some useful guidelines you might follow.

First of all: identify your resources. You need to know how many people you will have to help you organize the whole event and how much many can you spend on it. Another important resource is time you have to deal with everything. Allocate the resources in the way to complete preparation on time and on budget. Check for any additional resources available for you, they may help you act faster and more efficient.

Define exactly what should be done in order to achieve your objective. It will help you organize your job and make sure you don’t leave anything and have enough time for all the things you need to do.

Take a look on the list and prioritize your tasks. Define the ones that are dependent on others. Find the most important one and start with them, clarify implications between tasks and put them in correct order.

While choosing location of your event make sure it is accessible to your target group. For international industry event, try to choose country well accessible for foreign visitors. For small events on your university, check availability of some lecture halls. Stay focused on your targeted audience while choosing the place.

Try to link your events to something that is happening around and anyway. If you want to create charity event, try to link it with Christmas to make “Christmas Charity” out of it. Agriculture fairs may be connected with harvest. Don’t limit yourself to official holidays. Use your imagination to attract attention. You can focus on some sport events, Pancake Day or whatever is applicable to your event.

Do not forget to advertise your event. Think about the kind of advertisement that will be the best for your targeted group. Consider leaflets, posters, ads in specialized magazines. Be aware of power of the Internet. Go public on social media platforms; try to find participants or sponsors on dedicated networking websites like BusinessVibes. Make sure you include in your adverts all relevant information about the event like title, location, time, organizer and contact. Be creative, catch attention.

When you are done with the planning and objectives refer to them when the project is in progress. Monitoring progress will help you to spot, identify and eliminate problems that surely will appear on your way to success.
