T5 Data Centers(TM) Breaks Ground on T5@Portland Data Center Campus

T5 Begins Construction on Silicon Forest’s Most Advanced Wholesale Colocation Data Center to Accommodate Growing Demand for Business-critical Computing in the Pacific Northwest.

Hillsboro, OR, USA (September 16, 2014) — T5 Data Centers™, innovators in providing state-of-the-art, customizable and highly reliable computing support environments for any enterprise, today announced that the company has broken ground on T5@Portland, a two building wholesale colocation data center campus in suburban Portland. The company is also pleased to announce that a Fortune 100 company has already leased T5@Portland’s first building.

T5@Portland is the first purpose-built, state-of-the-art data center campus to be constructed in the Silicon Forest. The new data center campus will consist of two separate buildings; one of which has already been pre-leased. The second building will be a 110,000 square foot, nine (9) critical megawatt data center and pre-leasing is already underway for this facility. The T5@Portland data centers should be ready for occupancy in early summer 2015.

Like T5’s entire portfolio of data centers, T5@Portland’s facilities are purpose-built and offer server-ready IT solutions capable of housing multiple independent data center tenants. T5@Portland is being constructed to LEED Silver specification, and will take advantage of the coastal Pacific Northwest climate to offset cooling costs and maximize power usage effectiveness (PUE) of the data centers. The T5@Portland data centers will also have extremely reliable power from two redundant power feeds into the facility and are being designed as high-performance, highly efficient, seismic secure, purpose-built data centers.

“We have built a national reputation for delivering high-quality data centers that provide superior reliability,” said Aaron Wangenheim, Chief Marketing Officer for T5 Data Centers, “and this project is another great example of that philosophy. T5@Portland meets all the criteria that enterprise customers are looking for – purpose built performance, high resiliency and low cost. T5’s strategy is to continue to build the best data centers in the best locations.”

In addition to its technical specification, T5@Portland tenants will be able to take advantage of the favorable business and economic climate of Oregon, and specifically the City of Hillsboro. The area offers a number of economic incentives, including tax exemptions to stimulate e-commerce and technology companies, including significant sales and property tax benefits. With the combination of low-cost infrastructure, attractive economic incentives, flexible control over customer operational space, and guaranteed power, T5@Portland promises to be one of the most attractive corporate data center colocation options in the Pacific Northwest.

T5@Portland is one of seven sites across the United States within the T5 Data Centers portfolio, all designed with the same attention to reliability and service. Each data center is purpose-built to give customers total control of their own dedicated data hall so T5’s customers can better manage their Total Cost of Occupancy.

T5 Expands to Oregon with New Data Center Project in Hillsboro

New Construction to Begin on the State’s First, Purpose-built, Wholesale Data Center Scheduled for Completion in 2013.

Portland, OR, USA (October 11, 2012) — Atlanta-based T5 Data Centers, a leading data center owner and operator supporting enterprise and wholesale data users, today announced its expansion into the Pacific Northwest with a new project, T5@Portland. T5 has acquired a 15-acre parcel of land in Hillsboro, Oregon, and is finalizing design for construction of a 200,000 square-foot, LEED-certified data center facility. Once completed, the project will be the only purpose-built, ground-up wholesale data center in the state of Oregon.

Construction of the new T5@Portland facility is scheduled to begin in early 2013, with customer ready data halls delivered in early fall 2013. The data center design is optimized to take into account the cool climate, thereby reducing the amount of power and water used to operate the facility. The center will include high-efficiency, indirect evaporative cooling with custom air handlers.

“The Pacific Northwest is a well-established destination for enterprise users looking for safe, efficient data center solutions” said Pete Marin, President of T5. “Hillsboro offers the best combination of low taxes, low power costs, a reliable infrastructure and easy access for out-of-region companies. We anticipate the T5@Portland data center to be a showcase for responsible development, and will demonstrate to customers that we can design and engineer to embrace energy efficiencies while continuing to offer our clients the resiliency and uptime they require.”

As a purpose-built building, the data center also will have a hardened building shell that exceeds all seismic requirements, multiple generators for power redundancy, as well as redundant power feeds from the utility substation. Ultimately, the data center will deliver 12.25 MW of critical power with a power density up to 200 watts-per-square-foot. The T5@Portland data center will also include an on-site office and support space, as well as 24/7 monitoring of operations. Fiber connectivity is available from a dozen independent service providers, and there are three transpacific landing stations situated in Hillsboro.

T5 Data Centers is aggressively expanding its operations to meet growing customer demand. In addition to T5@Portland, T5 offers wholesale and/or enterprise data center space in the Dallas, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Charlotte markets.

Kasasa Changes The Face of Local Banking in Portland

Northwest Resource Introduces Kasasa, a Striking Alternative to the Mega Bank Rollercoaster

Portland, OR, April 24, 2012 – Northwest Resource asks consumers, “Do you Kasasa?” as it becomes the first financial institution in Portland to launch the country’s most innovative financial products.

Kasasa® is a new brand of free checking and savings accounts that pays consumers to use their account with what interests them most—high interest or automatic savings. These accounts, combined with the personal service that only community financial institutions can deliver, are offering residents a better checking account option than the mega bank experience.

“Consumers deserve to wake up to happier days of banking and leave behind the nightmare of mega bank fees and mistreatment. We are pleased to be the first in Portland to offer these unique products,” said Kim Faucher, VP of Marketing at Northwest Resource. “Kasasa delivers what research shows people really want but believe they can’t have—great financial products with the personal service of a community based financial institution.”

Northwest Resource is offering two Kasasa financial products, including Kasasa Cash? and Kasasa Saver?. All Kasasa products are free, reward-based accounts, with no minimum balance to earn the rewards, no monthly service fee, free online banking and nationwide ATM fee refunds.

Kasasa Cash – A free checking account that rewards consumers with high interest for every month they qualify.

Kasasa Saver – A free, high interest saver account linked to a Kasasa Cash checking account. The interest and ATM fee refunds earned in the Kasasa Cash account are automatically deposited into the Kasasa Saver account when the account holders qualify. The balance in the Kasasa Saver account also earns a high rate of interest.

To receive the Kasasa account benefits, each monthly qualification cycle account holders are asked to do a few simple things like, receive an eStatement, use a debit card a minimum number of times, and have an electronic transaction (such as direct deposit) post and clear their account. If an account holder does not meet the qualifications in a given month, Northwest Resource will alert the individual, who will be eligible the following month for the benefits.

“Extensive research has shown us that consumers would prefer to do business with community financial institutions, but feel they would lose access to products,” continued Faucher.

“Kasasa is opening people’s eyes to a new banking model where no sacrifices are necessary. It’s a win-win because account holders get innovative products and personalized service.”

In 2009, Kasasa was piloted in six other markets across the U.S. In just the first two months of offering Kasasa, participating community financial institutions reported growth rates upwards of 150% on new account openings and 372% in deposits at institutions focused on deposit growth.

Kasasa is being introduced with an aggressive, highly engaging marketing campaign. It comes to life through a fresh mix of eye-popping advertising, the likes of which exceed the typical mega bank’s high-budget programs. The ads feature America’s top slam poets www.kasasa.com/news-and-media/advertising riffing lyrical threads around the theme of “Do you Kasasa?”

Kasasa is distributed to Northwest Resource from BancVue, the leading provider of innovative products, dynamic marketing, and data-driven consulting solutions to community financial institutions nationwide to help them win the war against the megabanks.
