2012 Statistics Show That Botox Training Will Help Physicians Grow Their Practices

“For the third consecutive year, the overall growth in cosmetic surgery continues to be driven by a significant rise in minimally-invasive procedures,” confirmed Dr. Gregory Evans, MD, President of the ASPS.

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA – February 26, 2013 — The economy is seeing an upturn and so too is the aesthetic medical industry. The ASPS published that cosmetic procedures, both surgical and minimally invasive were up 5% over 2011. The IAPAM’s Aesthetic Medicine Symposium offers the most comprehensive, hands on, live demonstration and didactic instruction in all of the top 5 non-invasive procedures that the ASPS reports on, and offers unparalleled business support to physicians as they build successful aesthetic medical practices and capture the continued growth in the minimally-invasive market in 2013.

Surgical procedures grew only by 1% in 2012, but non-surgical treatments, such as botox, dermal fillers and chemical peels grew by 6%. “More people are turning to the more inexpensive non-invasive procedures rather than surgical cosmetic procedures,” says Jeff Russell, Executive Director of the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine (http://www.iapam.com). “They may not get the long term benefits of a face lift, but with a combination treatment of botox and dermal fillers, then can get a great result at a fraction of the price.” In the recent report from The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), there were 13 million non-surgical procedures performed in 2012, and as in 2011, in 2012, the top five minimally-invasive procedures were:

– Botulinum toxin type A (6.1 million procedures, up 8 percent)
– Soft tissue fillers (2 million procedures, up 5 percent)
– Chemical peel (1.1 million procedures, up 2 percent)
– Laser hair removal (1.1 million procedures, up 4 percent)
– Microdermabrasion (974,000 procedures, up 8 percent)

“For the third consecutive year, the overall growth in cosmetic surgery continues to be driven by a significant rise in minimally-invasive procedures,” confirmed Dr. Gregory Evans, MD, President of the ASPS.

Jeff Russell concurs. “We are hearing from our members that minimally invasive procedures like botox and other cosmetic injectables, medically supervised hCG weight loss (http://www.hcgtraining.com) as well as laser treatments, microdermabrasion and chemical peels are in tremendous demand by patients, and we are seeing a correlating increase in the demand for our training. Registration for our cornerstone training program, the IAPAM’s Aesthetic Medicine Symposium with botox training (http://www.aestheticmedicinesymposium.com), has steadily increased in the last 6 months. Physicians are realizing they not only need to offer botox treatments to their patients, but also laser hair removal, IPL skin rejuvenation, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion. Organizations, like the IAPAM, educate physicians on how to package these treatments for the most appealing and profitable outcomes.”

In line with these findings, the IAPAM’s Aesthetic Medicine Symposium provides a forum for physicians to immerse themselves in hands-on and live demonstration training on these top 5 minimally invasive procedures. Leading the faculty is a team of renowned, board-certified cosmetic dermatologists who cover aesthetic patient consultations, facial anatomy & musculature, product preparation, pain management, procedural protocols, post treatment issues and continuing practice support. Unlike other programs, the botox training is done in a clean, multi-million dollar medical facility, not a hotel room chair.

IAPAM’s Physician hCG Training Echoes the Benefits Showcased in Dr. Oz’s February 6 Segment

The core principles of the IAPAM’s New and Improved Clean Start hCG Weight Loss Training are consistent with those showcased by Dr. Oz in his recent February 6th, 2013, segment on hCG for weight loss.

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA – February 9, 2013 — The IAPAM has trained over 800 physicians on how to safely offer hCG for weight loss, and well over 33,000 patients have successfully lost weight using the IAPAM’s Exclusive hCG Protocol. The core principles of the IAPAM’s New and Improved Clean Start hCG Weight Loss Training are consistent with those showcased by Dr. Oz in his recent February 6th, 2013, segment on hCG for weight loss. After challenging a leading hCG physician last year to complete a study of the success rates and benefits of the hCG Protocol for weight loss, Dr. Oz commented that a physician supervised hCG protocol, like that taught by the IAPAM, does work for many patients.

In his February 6th, 2013 segment on hCG for weight loss (http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/new-hcg-diet), Dr. Oz presented the data supplied by a leading medical weight management physician, that patients can lose weight successfully with the use of pharmaceutical hCG (human Chorionic Gonadotropin) while under a doctor’s strict supervision.

In a follow up study conducted by Dr. Sheri Emma, Dr. Oz highlighted the study’s findings that patients following a strict, medically supervised hCG Protocol effectively lost weight. “It is the diet that drives weight loss, but it is the hCG injections that affect how one loses the weight,” Dr Emma explained. “hCG helps the patients keep the weight off because muscle is retained during the diet, unlike other diets that typically result in muscle loss.” This makes sense, because after people lose 30lbs they should require less calories, but in fact, as confirmed through Resting Metabolic Rate testing, patients can eat a similar amount of calories after the conclusion of an hCG program. This is due to the muscle being retained during the protocol (and muscle burns more calories than fat). “Patients can lose weight with the diet with or without the hCG, but one will keep the weight off longer if one does it with pharmaceutical hCG because it changes one’s body composition in favor of muscle over fat.”

The IAPAM’s New and Improved Clean Start hCG Weight Loss Protocol is based upon the successful protocol originally developed in 1954 by Dr. Simeons, and detailed in his report, Pounds and Inches, and is built around a low calorie diet coupled with the administration of the pharmaceutical grade of the naturally occurring hormone, hCG. The IAPAM’s hCG Protocol has been administered safely to over 33,000 patients around the world with consistent weight loss results.

To date, all of the IAPAM’s 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 Physician hCG Medical Weight Management seminars have sold out, so to register for the next hCG Training session on March 22, 2013 in Scottsdale, Arizona, please go to http://www.hcgtraining.com, or contact the IAPAM at 1-800-219-5108 ext 708.

IAPAM Announces the Newest Date for its Respected Physician hCG Training: March 22, 2013

Physicians will learn and receive everything they need to start safely and profitably offering hCG for weight loss to their patients as they start the new year.

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA – January 31, 2013 — The report, “How Obesity Threatens America’s Future 2012,” states that, “if obesity rates continue on their current trajectories, by 2030, 13 states could have adult obesity rates above 60 percent, 39 states could have rates above 50 percent, and all 50 states could have rates above 44 percent.” To meet this consumer demand, the IAPAM is helping physicians enter this lucrative market, by offering their physician-led hCG Training in Scottsdale, Arizona on March 22, 2013. Physicians will learn and receive everything they need to start safely and profitably offering hCG for weight loss to their patients as they start the new year.

With less talk about hCG on talk shows, hCG weight loss is now going back into physicians offices as one of the most effective rapid weight loss tools available. This is a safe, quick program that works with most patients. According to Shape magazine, the hCG Diet is the second most popular diet in North America, and in response to the grim statistics shared in this year’s “F as in Fat 2012 Report,” in the US, the hCG for weight loss protocol is positioned to have strong growth again in 2013.

To that end, the IAPAM has trained over 900 physicians on how to effectively offer hCG (human Chorionic Gonadotropin) for “substantial early weight loss” to their patients. To date, well over 30,000 patients have successfully lost weight on hCG using the IAPAM’s Exclusive hCG Diet (http://www.hcgtraining.com), based on Dr. Simeons manuscript, Pounds and Inches (http://www.iapam.com/dr-simeons-pounds-and-inches-manuscript.html).

Join the IAPAM for its next hCG Training session of the new year, on March 22, 2013, and offer hCG for Weight Loss to your patients as they prepare for the new year.

The NEW Clean Start hCG Weight Loss patient package is designed to assist physicians in helping their obese and overweight patients realize their weight loss goals. It is a comprehensive and complete weight loss program that includes:

•Patient education DVD, that gives your patients an overview of the entire program, and answers the most common questions.
•Patient Guidebook, that explains the program in detail, including over 50 program tips, as well as over 20 pages on the all important “maintenance” phase of the program. It includes information on: portion size, the Glycemic Index, how to read a nutritional label, tips on how to combat emotional eating and cravings.
•Quick Tip Sheets giving your patient the most important tips and a take-away shopping list complete with calorie counts.
•Cookbook with over 50 recipes for all 3 phases of the weight loss program.
•Food Journal for your patients to record their daily food intake.

This program was designed to answer the most common questions, saving physicians time, allowing them to see more patients, and generate more non-insurance based practice revenues.

What revenues can you expect to see by offering the IAPAM’s Clean Start Weight Loss program?

•See 10 weight loss patients/month = $176,000+/yr
•See 20 weight loss patients/month = $352,000+/yr
•See 30 weight loss patients/month = $529,000+/yr

With more than 60% of Americans overweight or obese, seeing 30 patients a month should not be a problem for most practices! The IAPAM’s new hCG Training video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-YGEQ0t0yw) outlines the IAPAM’s New Clean Start hCG Weight Loss program.

Also, the IAPAM’s hCG Physician Training includes:

– Detailed IAPAM hCG Program Protocols
– Patient selection criteria
– Common medical hCG contraindications
– Consent forms, medical history forms
– Patient PowerPoint presentations for the waiting room
– Phone scripts & call logs for your staff
– Legal/Insurance considerations, and current FDA status

IAPAM Publishes its Top Aesthetic Medicine Trends for 2013

The IAPAM has just released its Top Aesthetic Medicine Trends for 2013. With the Affordable Healthcare Act now moving forward, successful physicians will need to incorporate synergistic non-insurance based modalities into their practices, from advanced acne treatments to hCG for weight loss to be successful in 2013.

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA – January 17, 2013 — The International Association For Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine (IAPAM) has just released its Top Aesthetic Medicine Trends for 2013. With the Affordable Healthcare Act now moving forward, successful physicians will need to incorporate synergistic non-insurance based modalities into their practices, from advanced acne treatments to hCG for weight loss to be successful in 2013.

Here are nine of the key trends the IAPAM as increasing in popularity for 2013.

1. Stem Cells for Skin Rejuvenation

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy and stem cells enriched treatments are evolving. In 2013, PRP therapy will become more mainstream as: its popularity grows, physicians become more aware of this therapy as being used by competitors and colleagues, and the cost of the therapy declines so that it is comparable to botox and dermal filler treatments.

2. Advanced Acne Treatments

Advancements in the treatment of acne have progressed exponentially, from the development of industry-leading topical therapies by companies like PCA Skin, to the use of acne clearing systems, like Palomar’s Acleara.

2013 will see an increase in physicians adding advanced acne treatments to their practices. Technologies and procedures, coupled with the sale of physician-directed acne management skin care lines, can be a profitable addition to any practice.

3. The BB Cream Phenomenon

An adjunct to the growth in advanced acne, blemish and dark spot treatments is the rise in the popularity of the “BB cream”, or “blemish balm or blemish base.” This is an all-in-one treatment, used to both cover and treat blemishes such as acne, sun spots and age spots, as well as act as an overall serum, moisturizer, primer, foundation, and sunblock. It also has anti-wrinkle, anti-inflammatory and soothing effects.

2013 will see the development of additional lines of BB Creams as well as CC Creams (Colour Control Creams) and associated topicals (AA Creams etc.)

4. Facial Rejuvenation Using Fillers

Facial rejuvenation using fillers in the nose, cheeks, chin, is becoming increasing popular, and with pricing being an issue for patients in 2013, many will forego full-on invasive cosmetic procedures and instead choose to use longer lasting fillers to reverse aging on their skin.

Ultimately, 2013 will see more physicians embrace the versatility of fillers, as well as using fat injections thereby moving the evolution of “virtual” facelifts forward.

5. Advances in Cellulite Therapies

Cellulite therapies have been improving in the past 5 years, and in 2013, with the introduction of the recently FDA approved Cellulaze, effective and long lasting cellulite solutions are on the horizon.

The fight to remediate cellulite will move away from topical solutions toward lasers and other minimally-invasive technologies in 2013.

6. Physician Directed Weight Loss Continues to Grow

With less talk about hCG on talk shows, hCG weight loss is now going back into physicians offices as one of the most effective rapid weight loss tools available. This is a safe, quick program that works with most patients. According to Shape magazine, the hCG Diet is still the second most popular diet in North America, and in response to the grim statistics shared in this year’s “F as in Fat 2012 Report,” in the US, the hCG for weight loss protocol is positioned to have strong growth again in 2013. The report, “How Obesity Threatens America’s Future 2012,” states that, “if obesity rates continue on their current trajectories, by 2030, 13 states could have adult obesity rates above 60 percent, 39 states could have rates above 50 percent, and all 50 states could have rates above 44 percent.”

7. Alternative Uses for Botulinum Toxins Continues to Grow

Some physicians are using neuromodulators (Botox & Dysport) to reshape the face, instead of strictly for wrinkle treatment. Neuromodulator treatment can shrink excess facial muscles in women, which would otherwise make them appear more masculine.

In 2013, more and more uses for Botox and other botulinum neurotoxin will be discovered and applied, from sialorrhea or excessive salivation to temporomandibular disorders.

8. More Affordable Cosmetic Lasers

Introduced in 2012 and gaining popularity, there is a wave of new lasers like the Emerge™ Fractional Laser, which retails for around $25,000 making it more affordable for physicians to add lasers to a new aesthetic practice.

9. Social Media and Price will Drive Demand in 2013

Reversing the trends up to 2010, 2011 and 2012 saw the average costs of both surgical and non-surgical procedures decrease, and 2013 is likely to see this decrease in price trend continue. Target markets for non-invasive treatments, such as women between 18-35, will be using social channels like Facebook and Twitter, less than traditional networks like friends and colleagues, to seek out physicians who offer their requested services at the best price.

Jeff Russell, Executive Director of the IAPAM and a medspa business expert shares that, “social media interactions between patients and physicians offices has greatly increased over the last 12 months. Cosmetic patients will now Google doctor rating websites and then visit their Facebook page to see what others have said about them, their products and their services. It is more important than ever to provide exceptional customer service to patients, since they will not hesitate to communicate a negative experience to all of their friends via social media. Social media is now also a great medium to inexpensively (often at no cost) offer patients promotions and educate them on the procedures provided at one’s clinic. Having a practice Facebook page is a must have for any medispa or cosmetic practices.”

Conclusion

The market for anti-aging treatments will continue to grow in 2013. With new, less expensive technologies on the horizon, the trend toward lower cost aesthetic treatment options appear to be key in 2013. The IAPAM’s Jeff Russell concludes with “as we have seen with our past annual trends predictions, the key is creating an anti-aging program for each patient’s needs.”

IAPAM’s Botox Training Teaches Best Practices

As part of the IAPAM’s mission to provide enduring botox training, the IAPAM is proud to provide all the training and resources needed for physicians who are new to aesthetic medicine to safely add botox, lasers, dermal fillers etc. to a practice, including how to safely source botox.

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA – January 4, 2013 — In a recent news article, “Federal drug regulators said that five Arizona doctors and nurse practitioners are among more than 350 practices nationwide that may have received a Canadian drug supplier’s shipment of unapproved Botox that could be counterfeit or unsafe.”

The IAPAM’s Aesthetic Medicine Symposium with Botox Injection Training and Dermal Filler Training provides physicians with all the resources, information and tools to effectively and safely deliver minimally invasive treatments to their patients, including training on how to safely and properly source Botox, dermal fillers and other cosmetic injectable products.

The IAPAM has also created a NEW “Best Practices” video series, including a video specifically on “Botox Injection Training – Buying Cheap Botox from Canada” which can be viewed at http://youtu.be/ISDGmNAQXXA.

The IAPAM also teaches physicians who attend its Symposiums:

1. Botox buyer beware

The IAPAM (http://www.iapam.com) teaches that “botox-like” injectables should never be purchased through the internet. The red-flags associated with internet offerings range from unrealistically low pricing to a lack of knowledge regarding the potential side affects that can accompany the administration of a neurotoxin into the body. Also, it’s important to ensure the vial being used is not counterfeit; look for the 3-d hologram to ensure its is the FDA approved product,” says IAPAM executive-director, Jeff Russell.

2. IAPAM trained physicians are comprehensively educated in all cosmetic injectable outcomes

Physicians should complete a comprehensive, clinical training programs like the IAPAM’s Aesthetic Medicine Symposium, to ensure they are expertly trained in botox and other minimally invasive treatments. This translates into ensuring that they are trained in the latest injection techniques, how to safely source Botox, dermal fillers and other injectables, and are comfortable with dealing with any possible adverse event due to these procedure. Also, by becoming a member (http://iapam.com/aboutiapam/membership) of the IAPAM, physicians are recognized as a member of an internationally accredited aesthetic association.

The IAPAM’s Aesthetic Medicine Symposium training includes:

– dedicated instruction from board-certified dermatologists, who are true experts of the skin and cosmetic injectables;
– hands-on practice in the best injection techniques;
– botox training at a multi-million dollar medical practice, not in a hotel room; and
– an environment that does not allow exhibitors, giving doctors more time for education.
