Wines for a Worthy Cause Give the Gift of Jarman Wines and Give Back this Holiday Season

By purchasing Jarman Wines you will not only enjoy certified organic ultra premium wines, but you will be supporting a worthy cause, finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.

Salinas, CA, September 22, 2016 – Toast the holidays with a wine that gives back. By purchasing Jarman Wines you will not only enjoy certified organic ultra premium wines, but you will be supporting a worthy cause, finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.

Jarman Wines make the perfect hostess gifts and party offerings. Even better, each purchase will help to benefit the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF). In addition, the winery has opened a tasting lounge in Carmel Valley that offers three levels of wine tasting and three specially themed picnic packages. Gift certificates for the picnic packages make the perfect holiday gift.

To honor her late mother’s memory, Holman Ranch CEO and eldest daughter Hunter Lowder took the best hand-selected estate grapes and created two premium varietals—Jarman Chardonnay and Jarman Pinot Noir—with $1 from each bottle sold going to the ADDF.

Jarman Lowder, Hunter’s mother, grew up in Chattanooga, Tenn., and lived up to being voted “best all around” in high school. She earned a nursing degree, worked as an R.N. and raised three daughters with her husband, Thomas. An active volunteer, animal lover, athlete and enthusiastic traveler, Jarman wanted to spend her golden years making wine with her husband at Holman Ranch, an idyllic piece of property in Carmel Valley, Ca. they purchased to realize that dream. Tragically, Lowder died in March 2011 at age 60 following a long battle with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

Holman Ranch and Jarman Wines have partnered with the ADDF to support research toward treatment and a cure for Alzheimer’s disease and to celebrate the life of Jarman Lowder.

“We wanted to honor her, give back and increase awareness,” said her daughter Hunter. “Everything we do here and the reason all this exists is because of her.”

“We appreciate the generous support of Holman Ranch and the Lowder family,” says Dr. Howard Fillit, founding Executive Director and Chief Science Officer for the ADDF. “And we are proud that 100 percent of every dollar donated through this partnership will go directly to fund drug research for Alzheimer’s disease.”

Dr. Fillit knew Jarman Lowder personally and was excited by the opportunity to honor her legacy in such a meaningful way.

About Jarman Wines:
Jarman’s terroir (a French word that speaks to a wine’s place of origin, its subtle nuances of traceable character, flavor, lineage and integrity) refers to a special place in Carmel Valley — and also to a special woman, family matriarch Jarman Fearing Lowder, who inspired a family to bottle the essence of a mother’s spirit.

A Jarman wine reflects quality, with only the best local grapes used during an artisanal, small-batch winemaking process.

– Newest offerings from the Jarman estate include; 2014 Estate Chardonnay, 2014 Estate Pinot Noir, and 2013 Estate Pinot Noir.

Jarman wine uses only 100-percent estate-grown, certified organic and certified sustainable grapes. Aged in French oak barrels, Jarman’s vintages are held in limited supply, and are not available anywhere outside their tasting room in Carmel Valley Village (open noon to 5 p.m., Thurs.-Sun.; or by appointment), next to the historical Will’s Fargo Restaurant & Bar, the restaurant the family purchased in 2014.

The tastings will feature full-fledged experiences, including tours and wine education, and each culinary parings that complements the wine. The new Jarman Tasting Lounge & Patio provides visitors with four unique experiences: Vin de Table, Cru Tasting, Premier Cru Experience and the Grand Cru Experience.

A Guide to a Surviving the Holiday Season in Style (and Sanity)

Heinz Compagnie tells you how to survive the shopping hustle, the screaming kids, and maybe even the in-laws (no promises)

Denver, CO, November 27, 2012 – Heinz Compagnie, a leading Denver salon in the historic Washington Park neighborhood, brings Denver residents some very basic pointers to surviving the holidays. This survival guide is sure to be a gift that keeps on giving.

“We surveyed our clients and noticed a pattern, everyone seems to be worried about the same basic things during the holidays.” Says Jen Bird, top colorist and avid Griswold enthusiast. “Pointer number three is my favorite, and can be helpful year round!” Continues Mrs. Bird, emphatically.

Heinz Compagnie 2012 Holiday Survival Guide:

Pointer One:
When you are out shopping and the barrage of angry shoppers and cart traffic-jams is too much to handle, do the following:
Take a sharp right, right out of the store, and into Heinz Compagnie. When you purchase any three products, Heinz will give you 10% off AND wrap them for you, all while you are being pampered. Unfortunately we may not have easy-bake-ovens or new golf clubs, but if those are on your shopping list, we can still help you out! We have free WiFi, so just bring in your laptop or tablet and shop without the wondering eyes. All this, without going into a mall!

Pointer Two:
When your in-laws are in town. Do the following:
Bring them into Heinz and give them the gift of beautiful hair. They will be awestruck at your sense of style and spirit of giving. So much so, that they will completely forget that you didn’t wear the sweater they bought you. In fact they will likely even forget to critique your cooking!!!

Pointer Three:
When you are at your wits end because the kids are screaming and fighting about who gets to put the soy frosting on the gluten-free vegan Holiday Cookies (this is Denver, after all), do the following:
Leave them with their father or their grandparents and head into Heinz Compagnie for a relaxing Nioxin Scalp Treatment. As the top-notch stylist rub the stress from your scalp, you will feel the sanity come back to you and you will be ready to take on the day.

Pointer Four (most important among surveyors):
You are preparing for your New Years Eve date, have no clue what to do with your hair and your anxiety is high because you are afraid that your date will think you time-warped here in a DeLorean from 1985. Furthermore, you know he will probably be wondering the entire time, if you have a closet full of fanny-packs, stirrup pants and leg warmers. You should, most definitely, do the following:
Call Heinz Compagnie at 303-777-7447 and make your appointment today for a custom style. A bonus to this is the free 15-minute makeup consultation and application you will receive during your appointment. You can go out on New Years knowing that your date only has one thing in mind, and it isn’t Christopher Lloyd.

Heinz Compagnie has been a community staple for over 20 years. Mention any of these specials during your next visit to Heinz and have a Happy Holiday Season!

Actor and Activist Tank Jones Launches “Feed the 5,000” Campaign to Help Phoenix Families in Need during Holiday Season

Film star (Breaking Bad, Stitched) & advocate Tank Jones, along with his 501 ©(3) organization, Choices Empowerment, announces the launch of a valley-wide campaign to deliver food and gifts to families in need during the holiday season.

Phoenix, AZ, November 14, 2011 – Film star (Breaking Bad, Stitched) & advocate Tank Jones, along with his 501 ©(3) organization, Choices Empowerment, announces the launch of a valley-wide campaign to deliver food and gifts to families in need during the holiday season.

On December 17, 2011, partners of the project, dubbed, Feed the 5,000, will disseminate food, donated clothing, and gifts for children at 4 distribution sites across the north, south, east and west ends of Phoenix.

Individuals, communities & businesses are encouraged to make donations directly on the Choices Empowerment website to underwrite the initiative at: http://www.whatischoices.com/feed5000/index.html. According to Jones, even $10 will help provide a meal for a family.

Local food pantries, non-profits and faith based organizations serving needy communities should contact Choices Empowerment via email at: choices@email.com or by phone at: 480.382.4446 to enlist as recipients for Feed the 5,000.

A Personal Mission: Empowering Others to Succeed

Drawing from his faith background, the idea to help 5,000 people was inspired in part by a personal experience from years back.

“I belonged to a church where we would participate in “drive-by blessings.” We’d leave food and clothes for families in need. When you see the joy on a child’s face – and the relief on a parent’s – when they receive a toy, well, it feels great to know they’re going to have a joyous holiday in the midst of their struggles. We can be an answer to prayer.”

After achieving Hollywood success, Jones, who attended ASU and splits time between Phoenix and L.A., was not content to merely rack achievements for himself – but to give back.

Jones founded Choices Empowerment to spread an affirming message to youth. “Every person has the power within himself to improve his quality of life,” said Jones. “But we want to walk alongside and offer encouragement.”

No stranger to hardship, during one particular dry spell in his life, Jones made the decision to sell his plasma in order to get money for food. “I know what it’s like to be in need around the holidays,” he said.

For a personal message from Tank Jones, visit: http://www.whatischoices.com/feed5000/index.html, and find him on Facebook.

Narconon Hits Home with New Drinking and Driving PSA

Trois-Rivières, Québec, Canada – The holiday season can bring wonderful times with many celebrations to be had, family and friends all coming together. For the staff at Narconon Trois-Rivieres this time of year especially is all about helping those suffering from drug and alcohol addictions, and part of this is effective drug and alcohol education. “With this new PSA we wanted people to see not only the good the holiday season can bring, but also the devastating impact drinking and driving can have on the individual and their loved ones,” commented JF Dubreuil, Director of Promotion and Marketing at Narconon Trois-Rivieres.

Drinking and driving impacts people all over the world and can tend to be even more devastating around this time of year. The consequences when caught driving under the influence are quite severe, and when another person is hurt or even killed because of it, everyone’s life is flipped upside down. “Unfortunately this is a very real part of alcohol addiction,” said Mr. Dubreuil. “It does not take much to affect your ability to operate a vehicle and make rational decisions. Our counsellors here speak with families every day looking to help a loved one whom is addicted to alcohol.”

“Video: Narconon Trois-Rivières – Don’t Drink and Drive PSA”

Narconon Trois-Rivieres offers a very extensive and in-depth alcohol and drug treatment program and in some cases people have been sent there because of a drinking and driving charge. The staff works hard to help these individuals regain control of their lives again, and through PSA’s like this one, hope to help prevent people from drinking and driving in the first place. “We want everyone to have a very safe and happy holidays, and don’t drink and drive,” added Mr. Dubreuil. “It doesn’t take much to take a cab, call a friend, or even stay the night, but please, for the sake of your family and friends, don’t get behind the wheel after drinking.”

For more information about their alcohol and drug rehab program, please call 1-877-782-7409 or visit the Narconon Trois-Rivières website at http://narconon.ca/.
