MotorcycleCenter.com has Acquired TheHelmetZone.com

Las Vegas, NV – December 10, 2010 – MotorcycleCenter.com is pleased to announce that it has acquired TheHelmetZone.com, one of the top online sellers of motorcycle helmets, motorcycle jackets, and biker gear. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

TheHelmetZone.com had over 25,000 active customers who will now transfer to MotorcycleCenter.com, where they will have access to a much wider range of products, competitive pricing, and an overall more satisfying shopping experience. They will also have access to gear they were unable to purchase from TheHelmetZone.com like motorcycle exhausts, motorcycle tires, parts, and mens motorcycle jackets.

The staff that ran TheHelmetZone.com did an outstanding job and provided exceptional customer service, getting them one of the best customer service ratings and overall shopping experience rankings we’ve seen from a website in a while. It’s very impressive considering TheHelmetZone.com was able to achieve all this in less than 2 years. Their ability to acquire customers and maintain loyalty is inspiring, and we are sorry to see such a great competitor go.

Unfortunately, with the high cost of running an internet business and the ever increasing and changing technological demands, the burden and time needed to run the site was too much for the owners. The costs of marketing were going up while their sales either remained the same or dropped.

All traffic from TheHelmetZone.com is now being directed to MotorcycleCenter.com. The online landscape has been changing; these days it’s very hard to grow a business without a robust ecommerce solution and other new technologies needed to run a website effectively. MotorcycleCenter.com and other leading online motorcycle firms like LeatherUp.com and Motorcycle-Superstore.com invest very heavily in technology, expanding workforces, and marketing. It is tough for smaller firms to compete with these standards, making the acquisition by MotorcycleCenter.com the best logical step.

We are very excited to welcome all new customers to MotorcycleCenter.com where they can enjoy shopping brands like Cobra Exhausts, Tourmaster jackets, Gaerne boots, and Scorpion helmets, among many others they previously had no access to. This marks the second website that MotorcycleCenter.com has acquired in the last few months, bringing our customer base to well over 50,000 customers in a very short period of time. We are also currently in negotiations to acquire two other well-known motorcycle sites, each have over 40,000 customers and one has been in the business for over 10 years.

The other biker websites we are being offered try to keep up with the major online sites but do more harm than good, and find themselves in debt with ever expanding marketing budgets with lower and lower conversion rates. All is not well online; it’s definitely become far more challenging than ever to run an effective online shop, given rising costs. It’s challenging to even make a sale with so much competition from dominate sites like Amazon (launched a popular motorcycle category in 2008), LeatherUp.com, and Motorcycle Superstore, who are established and have strong customer loyalty, larger capital base, better website technology, and lower product cost due to being able to buy more product at discounted rates and passing the savings.

Another important factor is the cost of marketing. TheHelmetZone.com just over spent, simple as that. There need to be #2 or #3, or #4 on keywords over took what was prudent and what the site was actually capable of sustaining. We have seen that several firms who have contacted us were overspending on online advertisement. It’s almost like being at a casino waiting for an order. Now, we are picking up their customers at a fraction of the cost the firms spent on acquiring them. It’s insane when we see firms spend $20-30 to pick up one customer who spends $100. Then have to deal with the customer service, returns and exchanges. The motorcycle gear business has a high return rate for many segments; returned products which firms might or might not be able to sell can cause major financial hardship. It’s a recipe for failure we are seeing play out as the Internet matures and older and younger firms who were not on solid financial ground and did not kept their marketing expense inline are falling apart.

Given the state of the economy, the heavy investment needed to keep up with major players online is leading to the downfall of several key motorcycle sites. The competition online for motorcycle gear gets more and more furious daily; firms that can’t keep up end up going out of business. In a way this is a great windfall for us, helping boost MotorcycleCenter.com to the next level in a shorter period of time. We are hoping to capitalize on this trend and hopefully take over a few more sites that have spent years building a brand and customer base for pennies on the dollar.

Outlaw Motorcycle Helmets – 2011 DOT Motorcycle Carbon and Dual Visor Half Helmets

The New Outlaw Dual-Visor Half Motorcycle Helmet:
Outlaw Motorcycle Helmets, one of the top half helmets brands in the U.S. has introduced a new advanced dual visor system helmet. Outlaw helmets are known for their lightweight and extreme graphics are making a major push in bringing the most advanced technology to the motorcycle helmet industry at a fraction of the cost.

The dual visor technology, which allows a rider to drop an internal sun shield while riding instead of wearing goggles or sunglasses is a major performance improvement over the old half helmet designs. The new lighter shell has received many positive reviews from riders. It’s more comfortable than ever, lighter, and sits better on the head. Thanks to new helmet mold machines from Italy for its development; Outlaw is betting big on technology. The fit and comfort means everything to a rider, and we worked very hard to make sure we gave them both.

The New Outlaw Carbon-Fiber Half Motorcycle Helmet:
Later this year Outlaw helmets is introducing a new DOT approved carbon tech half helmet that is much lighter and has a thinner padding than any half helmet on the market. It took over a year to develop and perfect the technology for the worlds lightest DOT approved half helmet. Outlaw Helmets the first major helmet brand to carry these new carbon helmets in the U.S. market is very excited to introduce them just in time for the Holiday season. Starting at $69.96-89.95 a fraction of the price of other carbon helmets, which do not compare to the lightweight, perfect fit, or comfort of Outlaw Helmets.

Outlaw Helmets is able to bring better quality helmets to the market by dealing directly with the two largest motorcycle websites. LeatherUp.com and MotorcycleCenter.com. We give them aggressive pricing because they guarantee the volume, allowing us to spend aggressively on development and make better helmets based on customer feedback and testing. It’s a great partnership to have and it’s a win win situation for our customers, and everyone involved. The customers get a world class product for half the cost and we have direct access to our customers without the massive markup for a premium product.

2010 was a challenging year for the motorcycle industry. Outlaw Helmets grew at a steady pace for most of 2010. We decided to invest heavily in new technology and focus on fit and comfort like never before. The result of our efforts has been a truly remarkable high end, technologically advanced motorcycle half helmet at the most affordable prices in the industry. Customers are demanding higher quality products more than ever before, Outlaw has responded with the best half helmet product mix and graphics in the motorcycle world. Outlaw helmets are made to last and provide the highest degree of comfort, quality, and protection that the most experienced riders demand from a premium brand. We are very happy with the results and acceptance of the new line.

Outlaw is also in the development of an entire motorcycle accessories and motorcycle parts line. Outlaw plans to release its new extreme parts line and other biker accessories in mid-2011. We are very excited to take the Outlaw brand and product line to whole new level in 2011.

MotorcycleCenter.com Launches New Website With Nox Solutions

November 13, 2010 – Nox Enterprise Commerce, a division of Nox Solutions, has re-launched MotorcycleCenter.com, one of the leading online motorcycle gear dealers. The site has been greatly enhanced with new features and technology developed by Nox Solutions. The new design and upgrades have more than doubled the conversion rate of the site within the first 30 days of the re-launch. The site’s URL was changed from aleather.com to MotorcycleCenter.com. The new site will help position MotorcycleCenter.com as one of the premier places online to buy Motorcycle Gear. With over 100,000 products available online, the site needed better search capabilities, among other tools. Aleather.com had been online since 1996. Nox Solutions took a very dynamic look at the motorcycle industry and made a site that had all the functions needed for such a vast industry. Their custom-built Motorcycle Tire Finder is helping improve tire sales. The Tire Finder is so dynamic and powerful that overnight sales of Motorcycle tires on the site have more than tripled, resulting in a conversion rate close to 3.5%. A new Motorcycle Helmets Finder helps customers sort through thousands of helmets with numerous color, size, and style variations. The Motorcycle Tire Finder and the Motorcycle Helmets Finder both make use of Web 2.0 technologies to instantly update the search results for the customers, delivering a responsive and satisfying search experience.

Nox Solutions took a customized approach to building a new system and unique ways to integrate vendors into the system. The system is revolutionary behind the scenes. The whole process for Motorcycle Center is completely seamless. Products SKUs are loaded from distributors automatically. Restock orders are placed automatically when items run low, and if a customer is closer to a distributor’s warehouse, then that customer’s order will ship to the customer directly from the distributor. Motorcycle Center expects to increase sales to well over $15 Million by 2011. The platform Nox Solutions has created can do the job of 20 people with a lot less staff. In some cases, Motorcycle Center went from having 3 people doing a job to 1 person. That’s how efficient it is. The whole site is completely managed from A-Z. The system even selects how the products display based on clicks, popularity, and sales. No guesswork. The system can easily manage a million SKUs and show them in the best possible way to customers. “It just goes to show how technology can take a firm from a small startup to being a major player if companies are willing to make the investment long term,” said Payam Zarabi, Nox Solutions’ CEO. Motorcycle Center will be making a major push this holiday season to solidify its position online. They have committed well over $1 million just this holiday season for marketing. At Nox, we have seen what this firm’s parent company has done in the past. With a keen eye towards the future and their organization’s management expertise, this site will be the #2 or #3 site in the industry within a year. We have seen their parent company open up different websites in jewelry, rugs, perfume, and other fields, with combined sales of over $60 million in 2010.

Motorcycle Center was a way for Nox to showcase leading new technology and create newly designed administrative tools, which greatly reduce the time it takes to administrate the site. We had to really think about the biker industry, and how the customers search and browse products. We had to address how to make the process easy for a site that will have so many products. It took way more work than we thought, but the result is an amazing customer experience and a powerful site that will burst on the scene and demand a large market share.
