Robert Miller Congratulated Future Electronics Team for Introducing Lowest Cost Board with Microsemi

Pointe Claire, Quebec (realtimepressrelease) October 22, 2016 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, recently announced a Future Electronics-designed Creative Development Board featuring Microsemi’s IGLOO™ field programmable gate array (FPGA) or or SmartFusion2 system-on-a-chip (SoC) FPGA and Microsemi’s LX series power devices.

The Future – Microsemi Creative Development Board boasts a 25k logic element (LE) FPGA, offering the lowest cost of entry for both software and hardware engineers who want to evaluate and implement their own unique designs.

Robert Miller, President and CEO of Future Electronics, recognized his team for their partnership with Microsemi Corporation in the design and release of the new board, which features either an IGLOO2 or SmartFusion2 25k LE device, DDR2 and SPI flash memory, delta sigma ADC, USB and expansion connectors. The USB interface allows one to communicate, program and power the board. Users can add functionality via one of three expansion connectors: an Arduino connector, a MikroBUS click connector, or a PMOD connector. Microsemi’s LX7167 is an efficient power switcher that provides the board all the power necessary for a variety of applications.

The one-day hands-on workshops are based on Microsemi’s leading-edge IGLOO™2 field programmable gate array (FPGA) and SmartFusion™2 system-on-chip (SoC) FPGA technologies, highlighting the benefits of Future’s newly available Microsemi IGLOO2 and SmartFusion2 Creative Development Kit.

Participants will learn about the many benefits of Microsemi’s Libero SoC Design Suite, a comprehensive, easy to learn, easy to adopt development toolset for designing with Microsemi’s power-efficient FPGAs and SoC FPGAs. These workshops will show attendees how to adopt Microsemi’s easy-to-use FPGA technology in order to replace typical platforms currently being used. Future Electronics and President Robert Miller Recognize Pat Mulqueen for 30 Years of Service

Ms. Mulqueen joined Future Electronics in 1986 for a Data Entry position. Over the years, she has been promoted to hold various roles within the company, including Branch Coordinator, Supervisor of Data Entry, and Sales Support. She spent over 20 years in the User Services Department and is currently an Analyst in Marketing Operations.

Ms. Mulqueen explained, “When I started at Future Electronics, I was a young adult living at home with my parents. The most important things in my life happened while working here. I got married, bought a house and have raised two children that are now young adults themselves.”

She continued, “The greatest part of my career has been the ability to work for and with so many inspirational people. They have taught me so much, both personally and professionally and I have formed many lifetime friendships. I truly feel blessed to be working for such a dynamic company with so many wonderful people.”
