Bryant & Stratton College Online Hosts Free Webinar for Paralegal Students and Professionals

Attendees will learn about how to cite information in APA style and using the Bluebook during webinar on January 25

Buffalo, NY, January 13, 2012 – Bryant & Stratton College Online, a leader in online associate’s degree programs, will host a free webinar for paralegal professionals and students who want to master how to correctly cite references in their professional and academic work. The webinar, titled “Citation: Using APA & the Bluebook Together,” will be held on Wednesday, January 25, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. EST. This webinar may be particularly helpful for students enrolled in or interested in pursuing degrees in paralegal studies.

The webinar will specifically cover different field-appropriate citation styles as well as the importance of citation. Additionally, the webinar will highlight:

How to avoid plagiarism through proper citation

How to cite basic materials using APA

How to cite basic legal materials using the Bluebook, a citation guide for legal materials

How APA and the Bluebook work seamlessly together in academic papers

The webinar will be presented by Brandy Kreisler, Online Instructor at Bryant & Stratton College Online. Ms. Kreisler has taught online for more than six years, and is passionate about legal research and writing. Ms. Kreisler holds a law degree from Texas Tech School of Law and a Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of Washington, where she specialized in legal research.

“In today’s internet-age information is so readily available, causing an increase in instances of plagiarism – especially accidental or ‘responsible’ plagiarism. This webinar will help attendees identify instances where citation is necessary, what reference materials to use and how to properly cite information,” said Ms. Kreisler. “Citation is a core concept that every paralegal student and professional should master. Registrations Now Being Accepted for Nov. 17 Career Webinar on Tips for Job-Hunting with LinkedIn

Free webinar offered by Bryant & Stratton College Online to discuss the free job-hunting tools and resources available through LinkedIn

Buffalo, NY, November 04, 2011 – As part of its ongoing free career training webinar series, Bryant & Stratton College Online announced today a new session on using LinkedIn to boost job search efforts. The free webinar, titled “Ramp Up Your Job Search with LinkedIn,” is available to job seekers, prospective students and current Bryant & Stratton College Online students. The webinar will take place on Thursday, November 17, from noon to 1:00 p.m. EST.

Acclaimed career coach Kim Dority will lead the webinar. Ms. Dority is a frequent presenter for Bryant & Stratton College Online and has been writing about and teaching courses on career training for more than a decade.

“LinkedIn is not only the premier site for professional networking, but it is also of tremendous value to today’s job hunter. The site offers a wealth of tools, resources and processes to help connect individuals with the right job. Plus, it’s really easy to use and doesn’t cost anything to join,” said Dority. “During the webinar, participants will gain a better understanding of how to put LinkedIn to work for them.”

The “Ramp Up Your Job Search with LinkedIn” webinar will provide strategies and best practices on using LinkedIn’s full suite of job-hunting tools. This webinar will enable attendees to:

Optimize all of the sections of their Profiles to stand out to potential employers
