Kindle Fire and Nook Recharging Docks Available for Pre-Order at ReaderDock.com

ReaderDock™ Launches Second Round of Pre-Orders For Speaker Equipped Kindle Fire and Nook Docking Stations at ReaderDock.com

Lindenhurst, NY, April 14, 2012 — E-reader enthusiasts who have been waiting for the availability of quality docks for their e-reader / tablets are about to be rewarded. Both the FireStation (for the Kindle Fire) and N-Station (for the Nook Color and Nook Tablet) became available for pre-order earlier this month at ReaderDock.com, and now the retailer says they are extending pre-ordering discounts to a second round of docking stations.

“We’ve had an amazing response to our initial pre-order,” says Gina Kearney, a co-owner of ReaderDock. “We offered a discounted pre-order price plus free shipping and we sold out of our initial production run in just two weeks. So, we’re launching a second round of pre-ordering so folks who missed out on the first run can still reserve with the lower price on round two!”

ReaderDock envisioned a true docking station for e-readers months ago when the release of the new Kindle Fire, Nook Color and Nook Tablet were still in the pipeline. “We noticed there weren’t any good docking stations for the Nook and Kindle,” says Gina. “The Apple products, sure – you can find terrific docking stations for the iPad – but there was virtually nothing out there for the new generations of Kindle and Nook, which are really more tablet than e-reader alone.”

Built with speakers, a headphone jack and the ability to play movies or music while charging, the FireStation and N-Station offer a built-in amplifier with volume control that can be turned on or off, and are powered with the standard USB cable and power adapter included with each tablet. The dock holds the device firmly in place in either a horizontal or vertical position, thanks to a rotating cradle.

The unique design of the docking stations allows for charging, listening to audio and turning the device on and off without removal from the dock. Input from Kindle users influenced the FireStation build: since the headphone jack is on the bottom of the device, inaccessible when the Kindle is docked, the FireStation now includes a standard 3.5mm output jack that can be used for headphones or stereo systems.
